Current And so when you have one player who plays both of the characters, that means they are dictating and creating their own character growth rather than it being dependent on someone else's writing.

I think the failing of most Fate RPs is that they have each person play both a master and servant. The problem with this is that the bonds between the servant and their master are the deepest growth.

I'm sorry to people who had put effort into the RP I was starting a few months ago. My father passed away unexpectedly on the 1st of July, at the age of 56. So I haven't really been on here much.

Outer Rim - Esstran Sector

Sith Lord Tybis stood on the bridge of his Acclamator Assault ship. He wished to travel alone in a single shuttle, but it was insisted that he travel with escort. Because of this, he now traveled with 5 Acclamator Assault ships hauling him like a piece of cargo across the galaxy. He sighed, turning to the Admiral who looked over a star map. "Admiral I hardly think this is necessary. If I wasn't capable of protecting myself I wouldn't be who I am. It's insulting to think that I would need such a sizable escort, let alone an escort at all.

The admiral rolled his eyes, crossing his arms behind his back. "And yet you will arrive safer for it. I don't care for your honor Lord Tybis, I only care to do what I was ordered to and that's to safely deliver you to your destination." A man called from one of the lower decks, alerting the admiral. "We're coming out of hyper space Admiral." He nodded and walked forward to the viewport, watching ahead. "Welcome home my Lor-..." He was cut short as they suddenly stopped, exiting hyper space at what was supposed to be the destination planet. Instead, they jumped in right on top of a massive ship, or rather with a massive ship on top of them.

A Lucrehulk-class Battleship floated in front of the Acclamator, and they had come out of hyper space so close that the nose of the ship was inside the outer ring of the battleship. That couldn't be coincidence. It was too perfectly placed... they had to know the exact details of their jump to hyper space. The coordinates put in and the location they jumped from. This wasn't by accident. "All hands man your stations! Raise deflector shields, divert all power to forward shielding, pull down under the ship and get us out of here!"

As soon as the crew went to work to get the ship moving and the shields raised, the hull of the acclamator exploded with fire all over as it was fired on by the battleship. "Sir, shields can't be raised under this kind of assault! They wouldn't withstand a single hit!" The admiral made a mistake. They should have raised the shields before coming out of hyper space... how could he be so careless. In these times, how could he have so blatantly expected a peaceful arrival at the destination.

"What is the situation of the other ships?! Bring up a display!" In an instant the tactical display lit up and it showed the radar view of the battlefield. The admiral blinked in confusion. The display showed not one, but three of these massive ships were waiting for them. Not only that, but five Providence-class carriers as well! "There's no way we are going to last a minute out here. Get us out of here immediately! All ships retreat! Don't even think about coordinate, just jump to hyper space a soon as you can!"

He watched, as one by one the other acclamator ships were torn apart. The ship shook from the blast waves of the other ships being annihilated around it. The admiral was right. It wasn't a full minute before all four of the other ships had been destroyed, and only they remained. The shield generator exploded and fighter droids swarmed around the ship like insects. Torpedos crashed against the ship, but the admiral knew this firepower was not the same that had met the other ships. They weren't destroying them, they were disabling them.

"Primary engines are down. Hyper drive is failing. Shield generator has been completely destroyed. Escape pods are useless, launching in one of them will send you right into that battleship's hangar! We're in the worst possible position... and their shields are fully powered to deflect anything we can throw at them. They had to have known we were coming admiral, they are too prepared for this to have been coincidence!"

The admiral knew that already. He figured that out the moment they came out of hyper space. Suddenly, the explosions stopped and the ship now only shook from more systems failing, and the hull being breached here and there as it was rocked by more internal explosions. "Incoming transmission from the battleship."

"Bring it up." The battlefield hologram changed to one of a massive cloaked figure, with a mask on hiding their face. Nothing was clear about this person, not their gender, their race, their affiliation... nothing.

The voice was deep and cold, not a hint of emotion in it. "My master requests your presence aboard this ship Lord Tybis." The hologram cut out after the quick message, leaving everyone looking at the Sith Lord. "Then there is no choice. Ready a pod, I will leave immediately." He turned and left the bridge, moving to the escape pods which, honestly were the only things really left working on the ship beyond life support and other vital systems. He entered the awaiting pod, and launched. As the crewmember stated, he was launched directly into the battleship's hangar. He did his best to land, but the artificial gravity pulled the pod down into a sort of crash. He was perfectly fine of course, leaving the pod to find droids approaching him. With them was the massive figure from the hologram, and another that looked identical.

"My master is awaiting your arrival." He raised an arm to motion to some droids which turned, and lead the way back he way they had come. To other droids, the man gave a quick gesture, and the sound of gunfire echoed through the ship as they continued fire on the acclamator ship.

Aboard the ship, the admiral desperately worked to send out a distress beacon. When the guns continued their fire, he knew it wouldn't be long now. "This is Admiral Ackar! We came out of hyper space into a trap set by an unknown enemy. Our fleet has been completely destroyed! This is the only remaining ship, and we don't have long. They took Lord Tybis aboard their ship and have resumed their attack. They have massive battleships! Federation type technology, droid fighters and I believe a droid control ship. Send hel-..." the message was sent off just before the ship exploded into flames, and cut off there. It was sent off to whoever the fleet belonged to, and was the last transmission before the fleet was reduced to a small debris field.
Without a strong understanding of the magic you are using spells can easily backfire. Imagine having to draw out an intricate pattern in your mind, and if there's a single flaw it explodes in your face. Not to mention, I don't think that it'd be all that great to have to rest after every single battle. Warriors can sit down for a while to get their energy back. But using magic is a much more serious drain of energy. It doesn't just make you tired, it drains your very life. Therefor, training is much, much more difficult for a wizard. To get stronger an archer simply has to practice their aim and a swordsman has to practice their technique. Wizards however to become stronger, have to learn extremely complicated runes by heart, AND they have to increase their very life force.

Imagine a drawn out battle. Archers can fire as many arrows as they have, and can even use ones given to them by others. Warriors can fight as long as they have the strength, and the most they need to keep going is a quick breather and they are back at it. But if a wizard keeps using spells, they will drain their life force until they either can't even move any more, or they die from expelling every last bit of their own life. Magic is obviously very powerful, and can cause far more destruction and damage than any sword or arrow. But it's also the most dangerous, because no matter how careful a wizard is, they are putting their life at risk every single time they cast a spell.

As such, if a wizard attempts to cast a spell that's too powerful, they could kill themselves with just that one spell. It's the same as mana, except their mana doesn't regenerate until they rest and if they run out of mana they die. While a fireball may take up a small amount of their life energy, trying to summon a spirit to fight for the wizard could be very, very costly and either put them completely out of commission for the rest of the battle, or even kill them. It's like having a battery.

So the point of it really is that magic use is far more limited than other combat styles in how often they can actually attack. They have to be careful about what attacks they use, how they use them, and most importantly how often. They can't just throw out spell after spell.

Magic is a double edged sword.

We can be lenient on how people go about doing quests of course. I agree with the general feeling here that if we tried to have one single plot that everyone followed at once, with the amount of interest this has it would be chaos lol. This way, usually people will be out on quests and a smaller group would be left at the guild to socialize and all that. Then we can do major events, and split it into different roles so that we can have different groups do different parts of the same event. It gets done without the chaos of too large of a group, and everyone still gets to be a part of it.
More could be played. Some things should be limited of course like how often people seem to want to play dragon people lol. But some other races are fine. Elves for sure... what's a fantasy story without elves? Orcs and Goblins... dunno maybe they should stay hostile. Depends on what people want I guess, but more than human should be available.
I have to agree with Dub. This isn't really about being 'fair' or anything. Everyone should get to play the character they want to whether it's a warrior that's really good with a sword, an archer that's really good with a bow, a wizard that can quickly draw powerful runes, or any combination of them, as well as any other combat styles. We should focus on what people CAN do rather than what they can't when compared to others.

As Dub said, this is different than an MMO or any other type of game. Specifically, it's NOT a game and our characters shouldn't be limited to rules about what they have to do in certain combat styles. Each character will fight in whatever way they trained. Characters aren't restricted to classes such as warrior and archer. They are simply adventurers with whatever skills they have gained over the years.

This is Roleplay, not a competitive game.
(( Alright, so this has a lot of unlikely things in it xD I know that the leader looks pretty young, but she's 29. As it explains it's all a big game to her, and her reasons for calling herself a Sith Lord aren't really that clear. Other things are similar such as how she has two apprentices who are both older than her and seem to be more powerful than her. Yet, unlike the usual Sith ways, they don't seem to care for killing her and taking her place as Sith Lords. If it all seems to silly and unlikely I can change it. ))

Organization Name: Black Hand

Profession: Droid Construction and Mobilization

Affiliation: Sith, or so they claim

Leader(s): Bell Thorn (Self-Proclaimed Sith Lord, Self-Named Darth Thorn)

Persons of Importance: Sith Inquisitors Alkore and Genovath, apprentices of Darth Thorn

Military and Civilian Assets:

2x Lucrehulk-class Battleships
1x Lucrehulk-class Droid Control Ship (Less firepower than the battleships)
5x Providence-class Carrier/Destroyer
2x Stations Converted Into Droid Factories
1x Shipyard
1x Mobile Mining Rig
C-9979 landing craft
Tri-Fighters
Vulture Droids
Droid Gunships
B1 Battle Droids
B2 Battle Droids
Droidekas
Hailfire Droids
Persuader Droids
Armored Assault Tanks
Various other Droid Machines such as Boarding Craft

Other: The Black Hand has only 3 organic members. Everything else that makes up their military might is battle droids of all types from ground units to huge battleships. The fleet moves as one and has never made a direct attack on anyone, keeping to themselves for the longest time. Nobody can doubt the power of the fleet however, as just the two battleships under their command have enough firepower to take on a sizable fleet.
Before I go and make something I'm not supposed to xD is it alright if I make a Sith organization with just a few Sith members whi control an army of battle droids? My idea was that they salvaged some remnants from the Clone Wars and pulled them together such as factories and battleshios, got them repaired and the. Killed all the people to prevent betrayel.

Normally the Empire would have destroyed the confederate remnants, but with them out of the picture... Much could still remain.
Well characters should generally be good people. Maybe not hero types but still people willing to do their part to help the world.

That depends on the magical traits you have in mind.

That also depends, on the heresy. There could be many religions in this world that people are free to follow.

All that sounds fine, just keep in mind I'll not only be GM but I will have my own character as well.

The only thing is this isn't just a quest based RP. There should be a story and a plot we follow adventuring around. I didn't mean being part of a guild like a bounty board. More like the quests they take send them out on long journeys, sometimes to the end of the continent. So if only one group is doing a quest then only one group gets to be part of that bit of the story. It doesn't seem fair to switch back and forth who can and can't be part of certain parts of the RP. In this way. People would miss half the story. Even with a recap of the quest, half the group still wasn't there and didn't take part in it.

What we could do... Is have two separate threads. One for each group, and they will each have their own story to follow. Could follow your idea here in that each group follows their main story through PMs while activities that involve everyone are based in the thread. Then the groups would be kept separate from one another, if that's what you meant.
At least that's the official story. I'm looking at you Death Star...
This still open to applications? Had an idea for a small Sith organization... mostly just a few Sith and a bunch of old Confederacy remnants. Droids and ships mostly.
I myself would prefer we start with characters that need improvement. Give them flaws, weaknesses, and over time we will build them up and make them stronger. We may not start as dragon slayers but in time we'll get there.
