Location: Third Class Car, Blue Line, Matanbai Rail lines
Time: Just a little past Four AM.

The train carriage bumped and shifted as it clattered down the rails. Various people within and without shifting. Some in their sleep some, night owls most like, try to resume doing whatever they were doing before the train shifted.

Up in the First Class car most of the people are in their bunks. Happily sleeping away the night. Tourists and sight seers, rich dentists and doctors out for a peek into the slums of the world. And along down the line it goes as people have more realistic reasons for travelling these rails.

Reporters, journalists, members of the press. Well funded support and relief workers coming into the company. Not for Profit organizations that want to help out in a soon to be war torn country. And people who want to look good but can't claim to any fame...yet. That's up in the middle class cars.

It's back in the lower class cars where those people who aren't highly funded or are humble enough to admit they don't need money and can offer their services properly perhaps.

And usually someone like this man would stick out. He's obviously been through something. Something that has left a stain on his soul and outlook. Even while sleeping he seems to be ready to go at the drop of a hat. And he does indeed rock and roll at the drop of a hat as a train worker stupidly fumbles his way through the car. The man slips abit and tries to catch himself, in doing so putting a hand on the broken man's shoulder. The man in question, with all the speed of a viper lashes out, grabs the hand pulls the train worker even further off his feet and to one knee...all in a few moments. The broken man's fist cocked back. Until he finds himself again and he smiles, "Sorry...was...um yeah..." He helps the train worker to his feet and lets him move on. The Worker looking a little shocked, enough so that he quickly runs off, somehow having better footing then a moment ago.

The broken man sniffles and looks around, to make sure no one saw what just happened. He corrects the placement of the redcross badge on his lapel, part of his cover. He's close...just a little longer.

The man has a passing moment when he thinks, just how many others there are like him inserting or infiltrating this little country. And where they are right now, and if he'd recognize them when he found them.

He briefly recalls his mission pack. And the words, "All Operatives are tasked to arrive in the capitol of Tangayi before beginning their mission."

The broken man, one Hayden Moses swallows thickly and leans back in his seat. Only a matter of time now.

My little crazy guy.
@Starlance@FourtyTwo

Alright then I will give both cses approval put them in the characters thread.

We will give @Skwint another day or so
Oof...okay people are gonna hate me.

@FourtyTwo

Good CSes. Well done on them both. The only question I want to ask is if you are positive you can manage both characters in game? If the answer is yes I'll give you the benefit.

But all information I can find says the P320 entered use in 2014. Which is atleast 10 years ahead of our time line. So I suggest finding something a little older.

The Glock 17 as long as it's no newer then say the 17MB model can pass. Just without the Silencer. If you still want that silencer, then hey you might be able to find it in the field.

@Starlance

Good CS. Well done.

again Oof, that GSH just barely edges in. It's a brand new gun basically in this time line. So you're gonna hate me for this. But brand new guns...are very very scarce in Matanbai. VERY scarce. I'm sure you get my drift. And you're going to have to do without the loader. Might be out in the field. And if it is, it's going to come at a premium. Because again the gun is BRAND spanking NEW at this point.

And by Brand new, I mean the Hyena doesn't deal in it. It's that new. He can shift Cold War and 80s and 90s guns into the country easily enough. But something that just came out of development and is starting use? Yeah it's hard to get a hold of those.

I ought to have my own CS up in abit. And if you guys like you can grill is and let me know. I'm up for criticism.

Please make those changes the both of you.

We can give Skwint a little time. If he doesn't show up within a day or so. Then we start without and I put out the word there is an open spot.
Okay let's see...that work?

@FourtyTwo

Given Co-GM status. Mostly because he knows my schtick and because we have differing schedules. So there will be someone around when I'm not to answer questions.

@Starlance

Yes, tons of room, but still limiting it to four people in the RP for now.

So hopefully @Skwint will show up.

I don't mind starting this with three people though.
@Theyra

Good so far, give me somemore detail on his Training, and fix up the MO section abit. Designated Marksman tells me nothing. Almost every member of an army can be a marksman. What makes him stand out?

I guess that is partially my fault. I should go back into the CS and buff it up abit.

Forgot to add a history section too.

EDIT:

I've changed the CS around abit, added some fleshy bits. Theyra, I'd like to ask you to add the missing bits to your CS as well.

Oh and, your pistol is good. But there is a caveat. But you'll find that out later.
OOC thread is up for those still in.
Premise:

Prefacing this, as being an homage to Far Cry 2.

A small team of mercenaries, dregs, bottom of the barrel washouts and ex-military, sent into a embroiled. Embattled small nation. A powderkeg of worry and potenial anguish. Your task? Seek out the person who is holding a lit flare over the powderkeg. The one ready to drop it and being the small country down into bitter civil war.

Your job as one of the small team, is to get into the country, starting out underarmed, underarmored and with little to no supplies, procure anything you need, find the one who’s causing the unrest, kill him and then get out. All to the tune of several million dollars in your home countries currency if you can do it.

The question is, can you make it out alive? There is a chance of your character dying if they do something stupid.

But make the right choices, you can make a lot of friends, and a lot of money in the end.

Setting:

You hear about them in stories. Some small shit country, born from some warlord or some company or even somebody claiming to be the descendent of some ancient king of the land. And they carve out a country for themselves. In this case it’s some middle-African stretch of land called Matanbai, straddling fingers of the Namib and Kalahri deserts, the country is home to three distinctive regions. The Northern Nambo region that has a portion of rainforest in the far north, with hills, and wide open plains in the southern portion. Between Nambo and the southern region of Balilon, is the desert region where two fingers of the Namib and Kalahri deserts meet, forming a section of dry land, with hot sands during the day and one of the world’s highest dunes, as well as a stretch of dry acacia tree growing red sands. A thin strip of road passes right between the fingers linking the south Balilon and North Nambo regions to each other.

In this small country ostensibly ruled by an old royal african family, headed by King Natombu and his son Prince Jalu, several factions are poised to start a civil war. In a land where the mining of oil, diamonds, gems, precious metals and uranium, now threatens to destabilize and potentially draw in supporters of these operations from around the world.

Large companies from out of country coming in to victimize, monopolize and cannibalize the land for their benefit while somehow convincing the people of Matanbai that they do these things for their greater good. These companies bring in fighters and mercenaries from a great deal of places around the world. Scotsmen, Germans, Englishmen, Americans, Chinese and many other men and women from many nations come to get their own little slip and cut of the riches being taken out of this country

A rich land, with a rich culture, and even richer resources. With fingers from a variety of organizations and other nations dipped into it’s lands. Shadowed jungles, sprawling Serengeti, baking sands, and lengths of deep rivers and lakes. A land that is now beginning to show cracks and fractures of danger and deadly conflict.

Factions:

SAMC – South African Mining Company – Run by a board of rather cut throat investors. Every one looking out for the money they make through diamond, uranium and gem mining operations stretched across the nation. They have brought in a division of former French Foreign Legion, Canadian JTF2 and British SAS soldiers to train a local militia. These commanders and trainers also command the militia in the field.

COGS – Congolese Oil, Gas and Silver – A conglomerate of about six companies operating in the mining of Oil, Natural Gas and Silver, along with other precious metals. They have enough money to purchase a fairly large army of fighters. Having even bought out a former Mogadishu warlords entire army and the Warlord too.

The Dry Trail – Believed to be a group of traders, merchants and civilians, likely lorry/semi. Drivers who operate either with the man pulling things apart, or have been in existence before he came around and just kinda stepped in and helped to move arms, vehicles and gear back and forth between the borders into Matanbai and neighbouring countries like South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana to name a few.

The Eyes of the Hyena – A group of civilians, mercenaries and even Company employees who unofficially act as the eyes, ears and sometimes mouth of the man believed to be the Hyena.

The Pack – A very small group of men and women, who somehow are believed to be close confidants of the man known as the Hyena.

Names to know:

The Hyena – A pseudonym assuredly, this the the name that several world governments and African continent governments are using to identify a man who is shipping Cold War and Modern era weapons into Matanbai, to assist in what is beginning to look like a full bore civil war.

Commander Barcai – A North African military leader who has been sent south to manage an Angolan response to the potential civil war. Operating out of a border outpost, and commanding some 3000 soldiers. Currently in charge of a recon mission. Though if things come to a head, his is the closest military response.

Professor A’loko – An European educated Political Science professor, thought to be a neutral party, despite having family who work for COGS.

Edgar Malkia – A gang leader, of a group of toughs who operate out of the Matanbai capitol city of Tangayi. Rough, angry and wanting to prove to the country his gang isn’t to be messed with. Many of them have managed to get low grade weapons from the Dry Trail and the Pack.

Miscellany:

You may be wondering, what is the tech era of this RP? Early 2000s, with no definite date to keep it fluid. You’re not coming into this RP with rail guns, but a surplus AK-47 or Scar-H? Perhaps. You are a lot more likely to find Cold War and Pre-War on Terror weapons though. But really high end guns, Not likely. Guns Pre-2010 you’re likely good to go.

There is the very very very real possibility that in a bad position, your character can and may die. Body armor is in short supply in Matanbai, and if you do find a chest plate, ceramic or kevlar, that’s going to cost you big.

Your character can be a badass, but don’t expect the ability to take on 10 armed fighters and come out smelling like a rose. Try me, I will abuse GM privledge.

If anyone has questions I ask you hold them until we are fully partied up and have a OOC. then I will happily try and answer as many as I can.
Hmmm another one, and the one I was hoping for. Yay.

One more perhaps.
