Name: Edward Iwan
Epic Identity: Comet
Age: 27
Faction: Epic
Abilities: Speed - Edward can move at speeds usually reserved for concepts like sound or objects like fighter jets, his top speed before his body starts to suffer damage is around mach 200, fast enough to cross the Atlantic in 80 seconds. His speed is so great that if he goes top speed whilst something else is attached to him it is vaporized due to the intense heat of friction.
Durability - In order to survive the incredible speeds he reaches, Edward's body is incredibly durable, able to take incredible blunt force trauma.
Weakness: Electrocution robs Edward of his speed and superhuman durability, and he does not regain their use for at least five minutes afterwards. A simple shock from static electricity cannot do this, it has to be due to a moving current.
Personality: Good doesn't always mean nice, and Edward is the embodiment of that.
Edward is rude, cynical, deceitful, and with a mean wit. He lacks tact and is blunt even in the tenderest of situations. Despite this however, he loses all traces of this when around children, who he treats with a kindness that never otherwise appears in his repertoire. This is obvious evidence that despite his bluntness and otherwise assholish behavior, Edward has a softer heart than he likes to admit. He taunts opponents and friends alike, and enjoys very much getting on everyone's nerves. He is a thrill-seeker, and is nigh-fearless.
Edward has a phobia of large animals and is a vegetarian.
Appearance: Edward is relatively short at a height of 5'9", a slim muscular body and wild black hair, shaved at the sides and back, he also wears a short beard.
His civilian outfit is usually a black jacket over a sleeveless shirt, tight black pants and a pair of good shoes. His outfit when it comes to heroics is reminiscent of that of a motorcycle stuntman, such as Eval Knievel. This outfit involves a purple jacket with "Comet" written on the back in bold, black gloves, similarly purple pants with a white stripe up the sides, and purple boots. On his head he wears a pair of goggles with black tint to prevent his eyes from being seen. His hair is tied into a bun, but he unties it when he is ready to go full speed. This outfit, very hard to miss, is used to get attention while also serving a practical purpose, the jacket is leather, meaning he won't harm himself as badly should he fall at high speeds, and the goggles prevent his eyes from taking damage when he is running. He thinks it looks ridiculous, but it adds to the spectacle of his powers, making him more popular amongst the people of Epic City.
Background: Originally from Wales, Edward Iwan's memory has been compromised due to his brain processing information far faster than anyone else's. He gains so much information due to this that his older memories are consistently being forgotten to make room for more information. He cannot remember anything between his birth to the age of about nine. Unfortunately, this was also the time when his powers first manifested. What he can remember was his family being afraid of him and avoiding him due to something that had happened in the past.
Edward's family, due to their neglect, left him to his own devices, meaning he never went to school. He also never developed any friends. Eventually, around the age of eighteen, Edward became disillusioned with the world, going for a run to clear his head, he gained full control of his powers for the first time. In nine hours, he had circumnavigated the globe thrice.
He had never felt so alive.
He spent the next few years drifting, getting whatever thrills he could, and earning money by entering footraces and marathons. He attempted to avoid overusing his abilities as to be noticed, as similarly-powered individuals carried a stigma everywhere except for Epic City. Speaking of, it was around this time that he first saw the city, and he was immediately willing to do anything to get in.
Eventually he did, and after a meeting with the High, he decided to join the city as one of its celebrity heroes simply out of the compassion in his heart.
...Well, there was also the fact that there was no greater thrill than utterly trouncing criminals.
