I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

Binky
A very tired, very overworked magical researcher. Her specialty is minting magical coins that scramble and rearrange the magic of those that use them. Is lovingly called Binky because she's a bit of a crybaby. Even though she's come a long way in her fitness and training, she's still a bit timid unless backed into a corner. Not an official member of the 7 Nation Army project, but she's fun to have around. Is also a magical girl.

P.T.
An inter dimensional traveler who trains fighters around the multiverse. She talks like a stoner and is always hopped up on questionable substances that enhance her combat capabilities. Or maybe that's because she's using recreational drugs all the time? More research is necessary. Is not a magical girl, but is often confused for one.

Aria Rizzo
The big boss. Formerly a magical girl, but recently acquired god-like status. Is too busy messing around with the fabric of distant realities to do anything truly productive. Has an unsavory past, but that's the past. It's all fun and profit now.

Amber stashed her phone in her case and closed down her laptop. All things considered, her morning routine was going a lot more smoothly than it normally did. Usually by this point everyone started exchanging greetings or talking about "the agenda for the day." but it was nice that everyone was being so-

What the hell was everyone doing?

She looked up from her tablet again, this time looking a bit harder. She couldn't see anything with all the teachers gathered around the window, but they were talking about "magical girls" and something about being for "all ages," while accompanying a squeaky voice. They had better not be watching some anime on their phones. They had to be at class before long, and there would be plenty of time to catch up with their childish hobbies over lunch. Though it started to sound like they were thinking about getting back to work. Emiko said something about helping the kids, Yui wanted to know if she was getting weekends off, and it started to sound like they might be getting their head back in the game.

”Sure, I don't mind extra work.” Amber didn't bother looking up from her tablet, which she was still finalizing the schedule on. ”If Yui can't be bothered, I'll take her hours too. I can work weekends.”

"YOLO!“

— Luana Roycroft

@Rune_Alchemist@Crimson Paladin

Was Luana really going to let a hot, purple haired himbo like Lonan lure out the drake by himself? As far as Luana knew, he had no way of knowing where it would ambush him from. It could also kill with just a touch, and Luana's druid magic seemed to be the only thing that could repel it. Only an absolute mad man would-

"If you say so!“

Luana started to reshape her spear. It wasn't like she could warn Lonan once he was out of earshot. "Ethelred and I are probably the only ones that can work on a proper trap anyway. Let's just move to a slightly different position, since I'm sure our mark is smart enough not to return here.“ She looked at a nearby tree. "I think I'm going to prepare a few spells and hide up in the trees. Once you run past me, I can rain some vines and roots down on top of him. Any difficult terrain we create has to be possible for you to get through after all.“

Once Lonan was set to go, Luana gave him one last piece of information. "I think he's heading north, so you should find some tracks if you go that way.“ Once he was gone, she looked to Ethelred. "If you can cut down a tree, we can probably make a swinging log trap. Or we could do a swinging ice boulder! Which do you think would hurt more?“

If Ethelred thought either of those were a good idea, she'd wrap some sturdy vines around either end of the log/ice block and hoist it into position. The trap would be held in place by a few stout branches that Ethelred could break with a single swing of his spear.

"Alright! I'm taking the skies, I leave the forest floor to you!“ Luana turned into a cat and scaled the side of a tree. She climbed until she reached an over hanging branch. Even as a small house cat, the branches swung around a lot at the end. The idea was that a drake wouldn't be expecting Luana to be a cat, and she'd be able to transform back and drop her payload of seeds as soon as he arrived. She looked at the tip of one of her claws, which glinted the same way Endless Eclipse did. But this time she was looking for Lonan. If she anticipated they were coming, she could raise her tail to signal to Ethelred they were close.
”I know I said don't mind me, but I wasn't quite expecting to get treated to that.” Other than return Makoto's wave, Aria did little more than sit in silence while the passionate friendship/try-hard debate unfolded in front of her. She hadn't started speaking until Summer changed the channel from a political documentary to something a bit more action packed. ”As for your respective strength, I wouldn't worry too much about that. There's always a trade off for that kind of thing. It would be nice to be as strong as Penny or Mac, but they're predictable.” She pointed at the screen and wiggled her finger. ”Pretend you're the Mint. You've got a transport, and a hunch that Cradle's going to attack it. You only have so many resources to allocate to the operation, so what do you do? You assess your potential threats and arm the transport to best defend itself. If you were a mission organizer, who would you try to take out of action first? Mac, or Oliver?” Her eyes moved to the window. ”I doubt it's any different with wonderland. They're assessing and making defenses for the Pennies of the world. If someone throws a wrench in their plans, the wrench has to come from a place that they didn't expect. A group of magical girls who weren't even in Penrose until a week ago are likely off their radar. You're perfect for carrying out something sneaky.” Aria closed her eyes and reclined in her seat. ”I also have lots of connections. If you want to know what happened at the meeting, I can speak with Binky tomorrow and I'm sure she'll know everything.” After a moment, Aria sat up and looked at Summer. ”Um...” She lifted a finger to her lip. ”You're Beacon, right? Why not just talk to Alicia later?”

"Crime doesn't pay, but neither does honest work."

— Chloe Irving

They may have liked her, hated her, or envied her, but it was hard to deny that Chloe was something of a centerpiece to this gathering. But she also knew what she could get away with. If someone wanted to disengage with Chloe, it was easy to do so. She hadn’t even stuck around to hear most of the responses that were leveled at her. Even Pentius-04’s refusal to go on a date with Chloe did not seem to phase her. The only indication she gave that she even heard the girl was a small nod while she walked away.

The only one with a strong reaction to her antics was Penny, which Chloe absolutely loved. The smile on her face grew wider and wider as the “Queen of Penrose” threw a tantrum like the one-year-old baby she was. Sure, she was trying to look cool and collected on the surface, but that was a facade that Chloe could see through pretty easily. But the moment Penny mentioned someone was pulling her strings, she stopped.

As she took that personally.

Chloe turned her head to look at Penny. Her teeth were visible through her scowl. "Proof, huh? You mean that ball of glowing belly button lint you’ve been extracting from your navel? Can’t say I find it all that convincing." She looked back ahead as her smile returned. "And I’m sure your friends just didn’t want you to get upset, so they told you what you wanted to hear." It wasn’t like metal Penny didn’t have remnants of Jason’s soul that she could just peel out of herself to make her “soul lint ball” out of. But honestly? Unless its soul had been released from its body, Chloe couldn’t tell if something had a soul or not without a really hard look. That wasn’t something she was willing to give Penny. This was all to get under Penny’s skin. She just didn’t give a shit.

Meanwhile, Angel of Hope carried her scantily clad chest up on top of Casper and assured Aurora that she wouldn’t bother him. But he just blew up his cheeks, which were turning redder by the second. "Too late!" She said at last. "Here you are! Just standing over me with your perfectly female body! I mean look at those assets! I used to be loaded like that! So uncool!" He was about to complain some more when Aurora hesitated. "Actually, maybe you can answer a question for me?" She rolled onto her knees and stood up. "Is there anything that can turn me into a girl again? Even if it’s just the boobs, that would be okay." She placed her hands up by Casper’s neck and gave Angel of Hope a long, sorrowful glare. "Maybe a boobie osmosis spell? Like we hug really hard and then some of your boob energy would flow into me, resulting in a nice perky chest?"

Then a whole lot of crazy shit happened. Including a monster girl randomly showing up, deploying some sort of anti-divination field, and then explaining how the Mint operated. Chloe just stood to the side as the newly arrived continued to chirp away. Once she was done, Chloe gave the girl a small nod. Though she didn’t look too impressed.

"Okay, so just a few things.“ Chloe started to count her clawed fingers, but didn't let go of her pen or paper. "Number one, you’re a nobody that just showed up out of the blue. How do we know that you’re not a spy for wonderland? I mean, I know you aren’t, but Paranoid Mc Portals there isn’t going to feel any more at ease. Though I don’t think you can make her comfortable in all fairness to you. And two!“ She said while really shoving her fingers together. "I’m the coinbroker here! I don’t need you to talk for me! I’m perfectly capable for speaking on the Mint’s behalf. Not some, admittedly charming, third party. And three!“ Her third finger nearly sparked when she poked it. "We are going to have to exchange phone numbers later. I'll let you decide if it's for business or pleasure. Maybe both, I'll see how I feel.“

Casper looked at the passengers on its back and groaned.

"But yes, Nefer has more or less gotten it right. I know this is hard to believe, but the Mint can be a competent organization from time to time.“ Chloe spun her head to look at everyone. "We’ve infested Wonderland so deeply that they could never hope to execute all of our plants. Even if they could move their eggs around or decided to change the day of the attack, I would know before the orders finished flowing through their chain of command. I’m not asking for a slice of Penrose for a tidbit of information, I’m offering hourly updates, all-seeing eyes, and the full might of an interdimensional organization. I’m offering you the Mint’s cooperation in the defense of Penrose. For better or for worse, I can’t make them care if I don’t have something to show for it. You know I’d give it to you if I could.“ She winked.

Alexander put forth his stand on Chloe’s contract, which caused the girl’s eyes to go wide. "Are you telling me you don’t see Penny as your queen? Shame on you! she's right here!“ She grinned. "Beacon has representatives here, as do many of the other patrons. The Mint does not concern itself with the antics of the disorganized masses. So long as the big two sign, the Mint will have no issue letting me do what I will with their vast resources. Something will be worked into the contract that if a third party attacks Mint in Penrose, they become fair game. Things won’t be much better if Beacon or Penny tries to interfere with us in a direct or indirect way. But it’s okay, it’s all worked into the contract. So long as everyone keeps to themselves, we shouldn’t have any issues. And before you ask, the opposite is also the case. If the Mint decide to do a little backstabbing down the line, there will be reprocussions for it. Trust me, it's a good contract.“ She pointed at Pentius-04 and her hand glowed. "But without a contract, things like this can happen…“

On the other side of Lily, just a short distance away, another bony abomination shot out of the ground. It was twice as tall as a man, and had a greatsword in each of its four hands. Its four stoic faces were mounted on top of its inhumanly large torso. While the creature was clearly made out of bone, that bone had been shaped into plates of armor that covered the majority of its body. It made no aggressive movements once it had been summoned.

"Now see, she told me that there was no way she’d go on a date with me. As such, I have no reason to be on my best behavior, and will be as bratty as I want. Hence why I summoned…“ She hesitated. "I forget who Casper's friends were in the show. We’ll call this one Sakura. Yes! So I brought Sakura here for my own amusement! This is why we need a contract. Otherwise someone with an ‘A’ type personality could just do something like that!“ She lowered her hand and smiled at Pentius-04, who may or may not have decided to deal with the necropolis stalker. "I’m kidding, of course. I was just feeling a little frustrated because you don’t seem to care that Nefer has a big hulking guardian. We can talk more about that date once you’re off duty, okay?“ Chloe tipped her head and brushed her scarf, briefly revealing a mark on her neck to Pentius-04 and anyone standing beside her.

Then at last, Chloe’s eyes wandered over to Lily, who was still blabbering on about different underhanded ways to. She wasn’t impressed, and had been treating her mostly as background noise while she addressed the others present.

"Yes!“ Chloe said with a smile, but was gritting her teeth a bit harder than a happy person should be. "I had a discussion with the Mint fellows, and that can be arranged. Mint will not carry out illegal activities in or around Penrose. That includes theft, murder, torture, traficking, smuggling, and the rest. So long as we get the territory I want, you can put an end to the lawlessness of our agents. Who knows? It could even be the beginning of systemic change that causes the rest of Mint to turn a new leaf.“ She hesitated. "The pun wasn’t intentional.“

"I’m the penitent one.”

— Tonya “Mac” Murphy

Everything was going according to plan.

That wasn’t something Mac got to think very often. In the past, her divination abilities could perfectly predict the outcome of events. Now it was a crapshoot if things turned out the way she wanted. The impact cracked a few of her bones, but it was nothing that wouldn’t heal. Her opponent had been distracted, and she planned on taking them out of the fight quickly.

Metal Rat had split up into several duplicates to attack Anja from different angles. While she ran towards the front of the vehicle, a Metal Rat scrambled out from under the vehicle to swipe at her legs. Another dove out of a nearby bush. Another descended from the top of the truck in a falling stomp. Another one still came at Anja from the front. Which one was real?

None of them were, of course.

Mac was still in front of the vehicle. She used her illusion magic to hide the fact that had ripped the front bumper off of the truck before hurling it at Anja. If she didn’t see Mac before the truck crashed, she probably didn’t have a way to see through her illusions. The real question was if she would figure out what was going on before Mac beat her unconscious.

"An apple a day keeps the Suki away!”

— Suki Oyama

It was always interesting for Suki to see how people reacted to her magic. The most common of such emotions was embarrassment. The sudden flush of passion wasn’t something most were used to, and they would hide it by averting their eyes. But Rei seemed to be embracing it. But was this something she was going to want more of?

It wasn’t clear.

The next words out of Rei’s mouth were a suggestion that Suki should feed on miseria, and that Suki's close proximity to her might set off Willow. But what Suki found interesting was that she didn’t tell Suki to stop outright, only to wait until later. She may have a shot at Rei.

Though her impulses kicked in before she could think.

But things turned out fine. Willow also didn’t seem to mind Suki’s touch, and also had some adorable expressions to boot. For just a moment, she had to wonder if Willow and Rei would be okay with a paligamous relationship. But her thoughts were derailed when Willow fed her an apple, followed by a warning, and then she teleported out of her arms. Suki grabbed the apple in her mouth and took a bite out of it.

"Eyy, I do taste great!”

But there was little time to finish eating. A pink arrow streaked across the sky and slammed into where Rei's former squatting place. It startled Suki enough to make her drop her apple. Had She not moved away from Rei earlier, the arrow might have hit her instead. Suki stared, wide eyed, as the pink flames crept all over the lamp post.

"Whoa!” She exclaimed. "I wonder how that would feel running over my skin.”

It didn’t take Rei long to put a bounty on the newly arrived light girl. That bounty being getting to eat what you want with everyone else. A neat little reward for something Suki already wanted to do. Club members were great and everything, but there was something about the light girls that tickled Suki’s fancy. You just couldn’t deny that it was insanely hot when the bad guys and good guys started making out with each other. It didn’t matter what franchise you wanted to talk about, the bad x good ships were always the hottest.

However, Suki wouldn’t have long to daydream about her fated encounter with the new light girl. Rei was quick to add that the person who slew the least amount of miseria would be paying for the dinner arrangement.

"Wah!?””

Suki’s eyes went blank. Earlier, Rei told Willow that nobody present was a light magical girl without a home, but that was only half right for Suki. Paying for everyone’s night on the town might as well have been a death sentence. Playing around with a new light girl sounded fun, but survival came first.

It didn’t take Himea long to admonish Suki’s behavior, and urged her to start killing some monsters already. It was just enough to snap her out of her thoughts. She blinked her eyes and turned to the chess girl with a smile. "But I always give you a head start! Otherwise I’d end up overeating again.” She looked at the “new blood” before speaking again. ”I guess I can’t let the new cutie show the rest of us up.” It wasn’t long ago when Suki was the new blood slaying miseria like crazy. Regardless, it seemed like she was due to a return to form. Suki looked up at the roof where the light magical girl should have been. It was just one girl. They’d have her in the bag before Suki even scaled up to the roof.

The bottoms of Suki’s feet grew bloody blades. They weren’t too different from a pair of ice skates. The tendrils that held her to the lamp post released and formed a pseudo ramp beneath her. She lined up her feet with the ribbons of blood and disappeared in the blink of an eye. She was unleashing her inner Shadow the hedgehog.

Elsewhere, a side street was teaming with miseria. They dragged their tar-like bodies around looking for their next victim. One tipped over a garbage can while another peered through a window into someone’s home. Then the sound of skates scraping against pavement made them turn their heads. A flash of crimson, a few kicks, a few swipes, and the target rich environment was empty. Suki left one side street just to dive into another. Remnants of her previous victims still clung to her claws when she started swinging again. A few kicks, a few swipes, and the alleyway was empty.

The miseria could sense their own falling, and crept out into the street. They gurgled and bubbled at their foe, who’d be upon them before long. This time they wouldn’t be ambushed. They generated tentacles, arms, and other appendages to fling at the red and white blur that was coming for them. An army of shapeless tar monsters against Suki’s shapeless blood.

Suki dove over a pair of black tendrils while her own coiled around her aggressors. She hadn’t finished crushing them out of existence before using her claws to rend the next one. A giant fist with tentacles for fingers grasped for Suki, and she yelped. The blood witch jumped onto the side of a building and slid just out of reach. At the peak of her slide, she jumped off the wall and dropped her heel on the massive arm. The miseria was split top to bottom, and its remains were absorbed into Suki’s blood.

Baseline miseria weren’t enough to get the best of Suki. The only reason why she wore a frantic expression was because of her kill count. She hadn’t been keeping great count, but she felt like she had killed at least twenty, maybe thirty if her counting was bad. But how much had everyone else killed? She knew a lot of the other delinquents were not specialized fighters. But if they worked as a team- Oh crap, did Tsubomi have enough kills? The delinquents might have been known for their selfishness, but Suki didn’t want to hang her own partner out to dry. Damn! She had gotten too nervous about having to pay for all that food.

The last mob of miseria on this street had all huddled together. There were quite a few of them, and they were all flailing their limbs in an attempt to defend against their magical girl aggressor. A confident smile appeared on Suki’s face. She’d sweep up these guys before returning to her bestie. Blood red tendrils shot out of Suki’s palms as she raced towards her target. An (admittedly squeaky) warcry slowly rose out of her chest as she built up more and more speed. She spun like a lawnmower blade. Then her ears started to pulse.

A sapphire beam of light passed in front of her.

One of Nyxia’s crazy death beams bent like a curly straw and slammed into the remaining miseria. Their bodies sizzled and popped one after the other. Suki could only watch, unless she wanted to risk joining them. When the beam faded away, there wasn’t anything left of the miseria.

"Heh!” Suki’s shoulders were shaking. "I guess ya can’t give the new kids a head start anymore!”

Suki was about to head off to kill some more miseria, but she decided she should at least check in on her partner. Magical girl or not, every girl packs their cell phone with them. Though Suki had one specifically for her magical girl persona and one for her true self. Suki didn’t like texting while out and about. It was too distracting. Yet she didn’t picture Tsubomi to stop what she was doing to answer her phone mid-combat either. so she decided to send “Acid Drop” a short voice message.

"Hello, Rainbow! Sorry I missed you, just let me know where we can meet up and we can slay some miseria together. Who ended up nabbing the new light cutie?”
I'll have a post up tomorrow that should get Suki caught up to everyone else. But just a head's up, she'll have wandered away from the group huddle to avoid the tax collector.
Huh, things are moving pretty fast.

Anybody know when shadow plans on posting again?
