"Let me guess, you want to go and check that out?"

Calypso looked uneasily in the direction where she could hear shouting. It appeared that the creatures were multiplying in numbers, and truthfully, getting closer was the last thing that she wanted to do. However, if they were human at one point, perhaps it would be safe to get a little closer.

“I suppose we should.” She said doubtfully to her feline friend. “It would be best to find out if they are friendly sooner, rather than later.”
She puffed up her fur to make herself look a little larger, and flicked her tails for courage, before starting forward. She didn't know what was going to happen, but she was going to put her best foot, er paw, forward.
Hey, I've tried to get this idea up and running a few times, but it never seems to pan out. I'm ready to try again.

In the world of Terra, there are five countries. Patria, Stillicidium, Aeris, Ignis, and Elementem. Long ago there was a great war between these five countries, a war so large it nearly lead to extinction. During the war, it was found to have been caused by Lord Caelestis Rubor, a man that wished to rule the world as its emperor. However, by the time he had been discovered, Caelestis had already become immortal. The five kings barely subdued him, cutting him into five pieces. Each king took a piece, and buried him on their land, erecting sacred and holy altars over his graves.

Every year a great festival would be held, and the holy rites were said over the altar, keeping the evil locked within at bay. Centuries passed by, and the festivals lost their meaning, and soon stopped altogether. The people forgot about their past, and moved on. But Caelestis did not forget, and neither did his descendants. Now, his last descendant, Bardus, has freed him, and allowed Caelestis to possess him. Caelistis still wants to rule the world, but he also wants revenge.

Patria: The Land of Trees.
Patria is known as the land of trees. It is a thickly forested country, that relies heavily on lumber as its primary source of income. It is the largest country, and completely landlocked. Magic is highly discouraged, and you will often get treated as a second class citizen if found out.

Stillicidium: The Land of Many
Stillicidium is actually a large cluster of islands in the south, which is why it is called the land of many. Their country is much like a paradise, with balmy weather all year round. Their primary source of income comes from the sea, and they have the best navy. Magic is highly discouraged, and you risk banishment or execution.

Aeris: The Land of Innovation
Aeris, the chilly country of the north, is best known for its large strides in technology. Their country is rocky and unforgiving, made mostly of mountains. They have deep mines that hold countless treasure, and survive by trade. All magic users are shunned.

Ignis: Land of Bounty
Ignis is a great farming community in the West, and is extremely self-sufficient. Unlike the other countries, it does not need to trade goods in order to survive. Due to this, Ignis has the highest rated militia in an attempt to discourage wandering eyes. Magic is punishable by death.

Elementum: Land of Mystery
Elementum, the land of the East, is a peculiar country. Unlike the other countries, magic users are revered. It has closed its borders, to the others, and is a complete mystery to everyone.

Rules:
1. I intend for this to run as a long-term rpg, so please only apply if you can post a minumu of three times a week. If you are not able to post for whatever RL reason, PM me, otherwise I’ll kill off your character.

2. The characters are very powerful, however, no Godmodding. Everyone should have strengths and WEAKNESSES. No playing other characters without express permission of the owner.

3. This is supposed to be fun, so no bashing or bullying. I don’t like it, and I WILL report you to the moderators.

Characters:
So, there are five main characters, but we can add to it if more people become interested later on. The main characters are each a descendant of the original kings that had sealed Caelestis. Each descendant has a special power needed to reseal him.

I’m going to be sort of vague about the characters, as I would prefer you to build them up yourselves, using basic guidelines.

Descendants of Patria ~ One of two families that managed to retain rule of their country. King Solum married Marina, a princess of Stillicidium, and together they have one son and two daughters. The royal family is aware of their heritage, as well as the special powers that run through the line. They hide it, and shun magic, so as to remain allies with Ignis. All three of their children are excellent swordsman, and have the ability to use Earth magic, such as growing plants, and causing earthquakes.

Descendants of Stillicidium ~ No longer on the throne. The country was overthrown by the Validus family approx. 200 years prior, King Validsu XI still reigns. Descendants of Stillicidium were well known healers, able to take another’s wound at a great cost to their own person. They also claimed to be able to speak to plants, which is how they knew what herbs would make the best medicines.

Descendants of Aeris ~ No longer on the throne. King Suspiro was unable to produce an heir before he passed, and was an only child. His wife, Procella, is currently ruling by proxy. It is rumored that Suspiro had an illegitimate child before he married and the government is currently searching for his exmistress, Ember, to confirm the rumor. Descendants of Aeris are strong psychics, in some cases, even able to move things with their minds. It was also rumored that they could speak with the dead.

Descendants of Ignis ~ The other family that retained rule of their country. King Tristan and his wife Meloda have two sons. They are aware of their heritage, but unaware of the special power that they have. They have the power to use and master any weapon. They also have abnormal strength and speed, making it virtually impossible to best them in one-on-one combat.

Descendants of Elementum ~ Unknown whereabouts. Elementum was the only king who perished in the original battle. Although the country was named after him, he never actually ruled and the title “king” was granted post mortem, and his pregnant wife disappeared after his funeral. The country is currently run by a group of wizards. They’ve closed the borders and do not allow entrance, as they’ve been in a cold war with Ignis for centuries. Elementum had the ability to speak with beasts, and was able to call forth storms at will. It is rumored he was deeply in tune with nature.
To her relief, only a few of the creatures seemed to notice her, and they only gave her a few odd looks before continuing about their business. In fact, most of the creatures seemed just as confused as Calypso, some even seemed to be terrified of themselves.

Perhaps they used to be human, too? Calypso thought as she slowly sat up.

She scratched absently at the scarf around her neck as she watched the interactions of the things around her. Some of them had calmed down enough to start making introductions to one another, but to be perfectly honest, Calypso was not that brave. It was a shame, too, as the scarf knotted around her neck was itchy and uncomfortable, and some of those creatures had thumbs . She was sure that one of the calm ones would be able to remove it.

She scratched at the scarf with more vigor, her tiny claws leaving snags in the fabric as she did so, giving her an idea. She used her front claws and dug deep into the fabric, attempting to pull it over her head. She struggled for a moment, growling low in her throat, until she was finally free of the annoying strip of fabric. What kind of sadistic individual had placed it on her to begin with?

She scratched at her now naked neck with bliss, before looking at her surroundings more closely. She was in a wide cavern with no discernible exit, but she did spot one of the only creatures that wasn’t nightmare inducing, a large, spotted cat.

Well, maybe he knows what is going on. She thought, stretching her back. He looks like he would be easier to talk to than the others.

With that thought in mind, she dashed after the overlarge cat, making nearly no sound as she did so. She made it nearly to his side before sliding to a stop. He was a lot bigger than she was, so tall that she could nearly walk under him. She swallowed down her uneasiness, and fluffed her tails to give herself courage. It was amazing how used to them she already was.

@Duthguy

Excuse me, do you know what's going on?
The girl stared in disbelief at the pool of blood forming under her, spreading out like a ribbon. People were screaming and pointing, but no one came to her aid, as she tried to crawl away from her attacker, who was yelling loudly, waving his knife in the air while chasing a truck down the road.

“What did I do to deserve this?” She thought to herself as her vision began to grow fuzzy.”All I wanted to do was help.”

The next thing she knew, she was floating in a black void. She seemed to float aimlessly for an eternity in nothingness, vague memories forming and disappearing. Suddenly, she saw a bright light. Frightened, she tried to turn away from it, but it would not be denied. It came closer and closer, burning her eyes. She felt a searing pain, then nothing at all.

Calypso opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was a crimson ribbon, stretching out away from her. Confused at the lack of pain, she reached out to touch it, slightly relieved to feel the itchy wool of a scarf. She closed her eyes for moment, stretching sore and tired muscles before attempting to sit up.

Something was off. She couldn’t really explain it, but she seemed smaller, and was unable to stand properly. Also, the colors of the rocks and ground seemed odd, and slightly out of place. Trying to figure out what was wrong, she used her hind leg to scratch thoughtfully at the scarf wrapped around her neck as she took in her surroundings.

Not far from where she had been lying, there was a lake with a bunch of, well, THINGS. Scaly lizard-man monsters, bird and spider people, a funny little snake, and a very large cat were just a few of the odd creatures surrounding its banks. Rather than feeling fear, Calypso was perturbed.

“Is this hell? I might not have been the nicest of people, but I definitely didn’t deserve hell! Who can I complain too?” She thought to herself irately.

She studied them for a moment longer, wondering if she dared get close enough to take a drink. Her mouth was parched, and her tongue felt overly rough in her mouth. Deciding that she didn’t want to wait for a drink, she crouched down and began to inch slowly towards the water, belly nearly touching the ground, in patient, freeze frame movements, aiming for the part of the bank furthest away from the monster-like creatures.

Although it seemed to take ages, she finally found herself at the water’s edge. She took several desperate drinks before noticing the reflection looking back at her wasn’t one she was used to seeing.Instead of the plain, slightly nerdy girl she was expecting, she saw wide golden eyes, tufted ears, small, heart-shaped nose, and soft grey fur.

Calypso jumped in surprise a loud mew echoing throughout the area as she tripped over herself to escape the reflection. She could feel the fur all over her body rising until she resembled a tiny grey ball of fluff. Her dual tails twitched in opposite directions, as she tripped over the scarf still wrapped around her neck.

Collapsing to her belly, Calypso covered her face with tiny paws, praying that the creatures not far from her hadn’t noticed anything. She peeked between her paws towards them, not knowing what to expect.
Name: Calypso

Race: Nekomata

Race Abilities: Cat-scratch fever (small chance of having your enemies hallucinate after scratching them), Poison Fang (small chance of poisoning your enemies when biting them), Sleuth – when activated, you are nearly invisible. Works only in shadowy or dark areas, does not work against monsters with a good sense of smell. Making loud noises will cancel out this ability. Yowl – a high pitched cry that can cause confusion. Lasts for just enough time to escape. As this monster race grows it has the ability to change into a Bakeneko, or “Changing Cat”, meaning it can take human form. Even in its strongest form, this monster is seriously weak, and must rely on it’s agility, quickness, and intelligence to keep itself alive. It has a strong aversion to light, and light attacks.

Gender:Female

Personality: Calypso was a serious, down to earth human that didn’t like to break rules. She was very studious and often judgemental, especially towards those that weren’t as serious as she was. Unfortunately, those traits seemed to have amplified after her reincarnation.

History (Pre-Mortem): Calypso was a college honor student, and didn’t have much time for friends or games. She was dubbed “ice princess” by her classmates, and they often pretended to be cold when she walked by. Isolated, Calypso struggled with a sense of loneliness, and in a moment of weakness, attempted to pull the campus weirdo out of the way of a speeding truck. Not only was he not grateful, but he stabbed her repeatedly for her trouble. As she lay bleeding to death on the concrete, she watched that weirdo racing down the road screaming “Truck-kun! Come back!”

Appearance :
@Bruised Bananna: No need for numbers on the abilities. Fine otherwise.

Also, the meta jokes seems to be spreading. >3>

Awesome sauce. I'll take out the numbers and move her over into the character sheet, then. :)
@DuthguyKasha's sound pretty cool. Thanks for finding that.
@PKMNB0Y I took your notes into consideration. Here is my final draft of my character.

Wondering if you are still accepting characters? If so, this is a rough draft of mine.
I'm also a huge fan of fantasy roleplay, and new to this site. Let's get along, okay?
