@DarkRecon Not sure which of these are characters/NPCs, but they need to be in the correct CS format. Please refer to the first OOC post for guidelines.
At first glance, Marcie looks to be a small and unassuming young girl. At 5'2" and 113 pounds, she certainly is small, but it goes beyond that. Her shoulders are often bent, her eyes downcast, her head down reading whatever it is she's picked up that day. She slouches more often than not. It doesn't help that she has a bit of a babyface. Her doe-brown eyes are generally somewhere else, lost in thought. She has short, shoulder-length brown hair. She's Caucasian, her skin pale and clammy and easy to burn. Speaking to a dislike of exercise, she has little muscle definition, yet some curves remain.
More often than not, Marcie prefers a... subtler style. Essentially, that means she wears whatever she can find in her closet first. A zip-up hoodie and boot-cut jeans is her go-to outfit, but she can be seen rocking a short-sleeved shirt and cargo shorts on occasion. She likes sneakers best. Usually, her hair is down and framed around her face, although she does occasionally put it into a ponytail or a half-up style. She hates make-up and will do anything to avoid wearing it. Her superhero costume rarely sees any sort of use, but it's a white-and-blue two-piece get-up designed mostly for comfort and protection over style. In effect, it's a long-sleeved white shirt with a snowflake symbol in the middle with black-and-blue pants, with a visor, black gloves, and black boots.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
◈ R E S E R V E D Marcie, as a rule, prefers books and TV shows and movies to most people. It's not that she hates all people- she certainly doesn't- it's that she finds socialization rather confusing and irritating. As a result, her friends can be counted on one hand. A part of it is because it's difficult to get Marcie talking. Her responses are generally monosyllabic unless you've hit on an interesting topic for her or something she wants to elaborate on. Otherwise, she can be almost rude, although that's nearly never her intent. In addition to this sort of antisocial-ness, her reserved nature means that she is often a calming, reliable voice.
◈ N E R D As a self-described geek, Marcie can often be found engaging in her favorite forms of media and topics. Particular favorites of hers include astronomy, shark biology, and film. She never misses an opportunity to talk extensively about her favorite things. She's known to always have a book in her hand or in her bag.
◈ C L I N G Y Although she has few, when Marcie finds a friend she tends to cling on. This can be both an unhealthy habit and an endearing one. She's dedicated to her the little friends she has, and her loyalty is guaranteed. However, this tendency also makes her a bit annoying. She's lost many a friend because she couldn't respect boundaries or simply was just a bit too dependent.
◈ S T U B B O R N Marcie has a habit of listening to no one but herself, one that hasn't served her very well in the past. She has a tendency to believe that her (and only her) opinion is always correct, whether or not it actually makes sense. Often, she refuses to admit she was wrong until the last possible second or not until it blows up in her face. She's also rather stubborn with grudges- she can hold one for years without letting up. Most of all, she hates being wrong.
[ BIO ]
Marceline Donnelly-Alexander (or Marcie, as she prefers to go by) is a third-generation hero. She's the daughter of two famous heroines, Patricia "Aria" and Eliza "Murmur" Donnelly-Alexander, and the granddaughter of (on Eliza's side), Victoria "Heartstrings" and Julian "Wintergreen" Alexander. All were highly respected heroes back in the Golden Age and Marcie expects to live up to that legacy.
So, yeah. No pressure.
Through a series of events involving several miracles of modern fertility medicine, Marcie's mothers were able to have biological children together. Three, to be exact- an all-female set of fraternal triplets: Marcie, Rory, and Amber. They were wanted and loved by their parents. After long and successful careers, Patricia and Eliza decided to settle down and retire to an idyllic farmhouse in the suburbs with their three bundles of joy. Growing up, the triplets were incredibly close. They were always getting into things they weren't supposed to and just being overall little terrors. Needless to say, they were best friends.
Things started to deteriorate when they hit middle-school age. All three started to develop powers of their own- Marcie had cryokinesis, Amber had invisibility/intangibility, and Rory had musical mind control. Along with superhuman puberty came, well, actual puberty. Amber in particular started to pull away from her sisters at this age, preferring other friends. Rory started to make other friends, too, but Marcie just... didn't. She had a hard time making friends and if she wasn't eating lunch or hanging out with her sister, she was alone. Which was fine. She liked being alone. The part that really sucked, though, was the bullying. She had always been the awkward one, the one that didn't fit in, and other kids saw that and lashed out at her. Luckily, she would always have Rory and to a lesser extent Amber, but it still felt terrible.
When she was old enough, she transferred to the Academy for Junior Heroes with her sister, Rory. Amber refused to go. It was better there. Rory made a place for her with her friends (even if Marcie felt embarrassed that she had to do so) and she even made a few of her own. Exploring her power was good, and Marcie loved using it. Their moms wouldn't them become heroes before 18. Marcie waited for that day (their 18th birthday) impatiently. Even if being a hero wasn't all that it had been cracked up to be before, she still wanted to be one desperately. It was about the family thing, sure, but it was also about the cool factor. She wanted to use her powers, not allow them to go unused as so many others did. The education the Academy offered helped, too- it idealized the profession for her.
Now, the day has come. She's 18, and she and her sister have just signed onto H.E.R.O. Who knows what'll come next?

[ POWERS ]
For Marcie, ice is the name of the game. Her power allows her to pull any water molecules from within a 7-yard radius of her out of the air or off of surfaces and convert them into solid ice. It's a versatile power and one that has many uses, but it's as simple as that. It can be hampered by environmental conditions- for example, it's much more difficult to create ice on hot and/or dry days than it is to create ice on cold and/or humid days. The temperature and amount of molecules at her fingertips matter. Likewise, she's more powerful near bodies of water than not. Her power also grants her resistance to extreme heat and cold to a certain extent.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■□□□□□□□□□
1/10. Could bench 50 pounds if she tried really hard.
[ AGILITY ] ■■■□□□□□□□
3/10. Can't run faster than the average human or dodge very artfully, but she can make an ice bridge.
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■■□□□□□□
4/10. Consistently the top of her class in everything but P.E. (blech), and has been told that if she wanted to, she could go to an Ivy League university. However, ignoring her innate abilities, her power does not enhance her intelligence in any way.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■■■■■□□□□
6/10. It's ice. She's not going to rip any holes through buildings or anything, but she has been known to leave rooms, people, objects, and areas frozen over. If she draws from the wrong source or freezes the wrong thing, it can be catastrophic. Plus, when it melts, it's a giant pain in the ass.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■■■■■■□□□
7/10. Marcie has never killed someone and has no desire to, but she has the capability. While she's certainly never experimented with it, it's a possibility that her power could allow her to draw water from another person's body. Ice also has the tendency to be very cold, and if she leaves someone encased in it for too long, they might become hypothermic. Ice can also be incredibly sharp and slippery, so she could probably rip a hole through someone if she tried or make them slip to their death.
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■□□□□□□□
3/10. While she has resistance to extreme temperatures, Marcie cannot take a strong hit and would not last long in a fistfight.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■■□□□□
6/10. It's a solidly reliable power. Water is all around, in everything, even if you can't see it all the time. Marcie has a strong supply of it to reach for. Its biggest weakness is that it can be easily gotten rid of by heat. Even the sharpest ice melts under high temperatures.

[ VILLAIN IDENTITY ]
Duplica
[ NICKNAME/ALIAS ]
Abby
[ AGE ]
21
[ GENDER ]
Female; she/her pronouns
[ AFFILIATION ]
Villain; unnamed villain team
[ APPEARANCE ]
Abby is an average-sized woman at about 5'5" and 137 pounds. Her body is of middling size- she couldn't be described as thin, fat, or particularly muscular. She has medium-brown eyes, full lips that can often be found pressed into a smirk, and a petite nose. Her nose is pierced in the left nostril, although it can't be seen in her costume. Her hair is naturally a mousy brown but is bleached a platinum blonde and cut into a shoulder-length bob cut. She has fair skin that sunburns rather easily.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
◈ “S P O I L E D B I T C H” Even as a child, Abby was never known to be particularly nice. In fact, she can be downright cruel. Insults, humiliation, and harmful “pranks” are some of her favorite pastimes and, as such, she’s quite legendary for being a person that no one particularly enjoys being around. Despite the joy she takes in bringing other people down, she’s used to people giving her whatever she wants. She’s entitled and rude- the sort of person to turn down a gift if she thinks it was cheap.
◈ C O N N I V I N G In tandem with her unkind nature, Abby knows which switches to flip to get someone to do exactly what she wants. Although she has little experience in manipulating actual, serious villains, she often uses this skill to her advantage. She excels at telling people what they want to hear, at wrapping them around her little finger. In addition to this manipulativeness, Abby is not a person taken to doing good. Although she stops short at actual murder, she has no qualms about plotting robberies and hurting others. She’s quite good at strategy and planning.
◈ S C A R E D L I T T L E G I R L Under all the swagger and manipulation, Abby is still a young woman in way over her head. Essentially, she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She certainly set out to be a villain, but the realities of her chosen profession have not been and will not be kind to her. When the consequences of her actions catch up to her, she usually flees with her tail between her legs.
[ BIO ]
Abby was born in Ashfield, Nebraska, the only child of the heirs to a large agriculture company. When she was still an infant, her parents sold their business to an international corporation for a shitton of money. So, essentially, she was set for life. If she hadn’t screwed it up, that is.
As far as she knows, Abby was the first one in her family to have powers for generations. When she got expelled for copying herself in middle school to skip class, her parents were shocked. They hadn’t expected her to have powers. After that incident, they had her enrolled in a private school far from home with a special program for teenagers with powers.
Abby hated that school. The uniforms, the rules, the special program for controlling her powers… it was all such bullshit! So, she got herself expelled on purpose. And the next school? Expelled on purpose? The next? Well… it went the same. At the same time, she was also developing an avid shoplifting habit. She found that she loved the “thrill of the hunt”, so to speak, even if she didn’t necessarily need the stuff. Stealing an Apple Watch was so much better than just buying it. Eventually, that habit landed her in juvie.
By the time she was 18, Abby had been expelled from five schools, had been to juvie twice (once for a week and another for a month), and had officially worn her parents to the bone. There was no reason for her misbehavior- in their minds, they had done nothing wrong- so the problem was her. They pulled some strings, got her into a private college in Castleburg, and shipped her off for the last time.
At first, Abby loved college. The coursework wasn’t the best, but she had the money to pay people to do her work for her. But what she truly loved was freedom. Frat parties and catty sororities were her dream, and she fit in. Of course, she still maintained her bad habits. She was notorious around campus for having sticky fingers. And for messing around with her powers. People loved to see how many clones she could make.
That’s how the accident happened. Abby had never generated that many clones at once, but when she did, they started to come out wrong. Missing limbs and appendages, their speech slurred, their bodies deformed. But she kept pushing and pushing until she turned out one that was actually… smart. It could have coherent conversations, and even had its own free will. It creeped her out, but she went out with it anyway. It would be fun to see what it could steal.
Things that got bad when she sent it into the Target and instructed it to take something. Instead of following her directives, it grabbed a bat and started hitting people. And then, it came for her. It was a fight that resulted in a lot of blood, but she managed to take it out. Not without collateral damage, though. Before she had killed it, it had critically injured three people- one of them a toddler.
Abby was frightened, and ran- something that made it worse for her. She was expelled from school and became a fugitive on the run from HERO. She managed to evade them until they stopped looking, and now? She’s a career villain. It’s not something that she didn’t want- she had always been a thief- but the way it came about was certainly inconvenient for her.
Now, two years later, former agriculture heiress Abigail Nielsen lives in a one-room dump in Brookside, paying an obscenely high rent under the table and doing whatever villain work she can. No matter what she steals and pawns off and no matter who she’s a goon for, she’s always one bad week away from losing everything. So one could say that she’s in the market for… something more lucrative.

B-
[ POWERS ]
Abby has fairly standard self-duplication powers. While standing still, concentrating, and with a little bit of space, she can generate copies of herself. They’re solid, squishy, and realistic replicas of Abigail. They’re not complete replicas, though. If someone were to stab one of them, they wouldn’t find blood and bone. They’d find a strange blue goo, and that the clone would hardly feel any pain as it was stabbed. It would just keep going. They’re as strong as her and as fast as her, but not nearly as smart. Most of her clones are only able to form monosyllabic grunts and words on their own, barely able to tie phrases together. They only speak on request by Abigail. If left on their own, they’ll most likely charge their opponents without a care for safety or strategy. As far as Abigail can tell, they don’t think. They’re just empty husks that look like her. But they do listen to her! The vast majority of her clones follow her orders without even a second of hesitation.
She can create up to 18 clones safely at a time, she’s found. After that… things get weird. The quality of her clones deteriorates as she summons more. The first clone she summons might be able to speak, listen, and report back. But by number 10, her clones start to lose fingers, toes. Even an arm once at 16. Their faces get messed up, their bone structures twist and grow. Once, at clone #19, she created a clone without any legs or arms and a twisted face- just a torso. But the problem isn’t the ones that are missing parts. The problem is the ones who don’t listen. She’s created three of what she terms as “psycho clones”. Their faces are warped, their bodies missing pieces, but they’re smart. Too smart. Once she gets past clone 18, the chance of accidentally creating a psycho clone grows. And those things are bloodthirsty. The only thing that’ll stop them from killing (preferably Abigail) is a bullet to the brain. This aspect of her power freaks her out, but she’s always trying to grow her clone capacity. If she just concentrates a bit more, she knows she can do it.

[ AGILITY ] ■■□□□□□□□□
2/10. Not any faster than the average Joe by herself.
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■□□□□□□□
3/10. While mildly intelligent, Abby’s powers in no way contribute to her smarts. Her clones are dumb as rocks.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■■■■■■□□□
7/10. Having a shitton of armed people willing to follow her each and every order can be very destructive. Strength in numbers, after all.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■■■■□□□□□
5/10. Her power isn’t inherently lethal, but enough clones beating someone up could be enough to kill them. Additionally, the psycho clones tend to muck things up a bit.
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■■■■■■□□
8/10. There’s an old saying: one stick is easily broken, while a bundle is impossible to break. That’s the philosophy with Abby and her clones. Alone, it’s easy to take her down. But with a small army at her back? She’s nearly impossible to catch, and enough people piling on you and beating you up is enough to make nearly anyone lose.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■■□□□□
6/10. Abby’s powers, for the most part, work fairly well. Unless she exceeds her limit, her clones come out looking identical and being perfect, order-following machines. The problem lies in exceeding her limit. Once she exceeds 18, clones start to come out malformed. And then… well, she’s termed them her psycho clones. They’re bloodthirsty, intelligent monsters with a single drive: to kill. Specifically, her. This is her biggest problem with her power.

[ EQUIPMENT ]
At any given moment, Abby probably has a gun, a taser, some pepper spray, and a lockpicking kit on her person, along with other assorted items. She also has a radio on her for communication with her clones. Has a skateboard. Quite old-school, but it works for her.
Megumi has long grayish hair, pale skin, and a rather slim build. She prefers to wear whatever's comfortable, but she does make an effort to look at least somewhat fashionable when outside. She also brings along a large quadrupedal dog-like machine named Gem that acts as a pet, which can also transform into a bipedal android body that provides her the android body for her hero identity Gematria.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
EMOTIONLESS: At first impression, Megumi doesn't seem to possess any emotions. Her tone of speech is monotone, and tends to move in a somewhat sluggish manner. The truth is that she just has a difficult time showing her true feelings. Get to know her a little, though, and it'd be easy enough to know what she's thinking, assuming she doesn't just tell you outright.
BLUNT: Megumi isn't afraid to speak her mind and will be direct in her methods and intentions. However, she tends to be quite curt and literal-minded in doing so, which tends to result in some initial misunderstandings until she is asked to explain what she truly means in her messages.
OBSESSED WITH KNOWLEDGE: Megumi has an avid interest in learning more about the unknown, particularly about science, magic, and everything in between. She is unhesitant about trying new things in her experiments with the two, but will at least maintain a level of caution to try to prevent any catastrophic events.
[ BIO ]
Megumi was born in Castleburg, as the daughter of a CEO of a large video game company. Her mother died in childbirth, and Megumi was often left with a nanny to take care of her. As a result, she was often left with plenty of games and other material desires to keep herself occupied, but no one to actually spend that time with. She poured herself into these games, and soon discovered her powers when she got absorbed into the controller she was holding, finding herself inside the game itself. She found a whole new world to explore, and didn't come out until the nanny turned off the console, which forcefully ejected herself from the game and back into the real world.
It was then that Megumi found a new interest: coding. By being inside games, she could see how the game functioned, and alter it in ways it was never intended to function. She learned plenty within them, and her knowledge of her own ability continued to grow as well. Her father merely continued to send her the latest tech and games, thinking it would make her happy. Her attention turned to the various magic systems that often existed within fantasy games, and while she had fun experimenting with them in said games, she then began to wonder if it was possible to bring them to real life. Try as she might, though, she just couldn't do it.
One day, while attending an real life gaming event, it fell under attack by a rampaging Leftover. She hid behind a table, but it was tossed aside and was about to be attacked, only for it to be bound up and quickly dispatched by arriving heroes. Her attention focused onto one hero in particular, Rune, who had used some interesting symbols to perform the job. In the crisis, she had found the solution to a problem she had been dying to solve: performing magic, or at least something similar to it. Unfortunately, she was quickly taken someplace safe by other heroes. Due to Rune being a D rank hero, it seems that there was little interest on him, making him difficult to track down. By the time she did, however, it was revealed that he had perished in battle. She was dismayed, but eventually learned to get over it. She then made it her new goal to become a Hero. In her mind, she thought the best way to find more heroes like Rune was to go out and be a Hero herself. And if she was able to help people along the way, that was even better.

[ POWERS ]
ELECTRO-SURFING: By being in contact with a machine that uses electricity, Megumi's can leap into it, her body transforming into a mass of electric particles that travel within it freely. Within these machines, Megumi can take control of its functions and freely study its structure and coding, and can even modify said coding to suit her needs. Firewalls and encryptions pose little obstacle to her, but power limiters can hinder her movement. She can also forcibly short-circuit the machine, though this causes her to immediately be ejected (or forced into another area of said machine, if applicable) afterwards as that part would no longer be functional.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■■■□□□□□□□ 3/10 Megumi found it unnecessary to work out very much apart from doing any potential heavy lifting when working on her tech. She has her other abilities to compensate for it instead.
[ AGILITY ] ■■□□□□□□□□ 2/10 Same reason as above.
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■■■■■□□□ 7/10 Considering her expertise in technology and desire to learn more, it's safe to say that she is quite intelligent.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■■□□□□□□□ 3/10 In any tech-heavy environment, such as a server room, she could be devastating if she wanted to, but other than that, she doesn't possess any powers that are generally destructive.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■□□□□□□□□ 2/10 Megumi doesn’t use lethal methods to fight crime.
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■□□□□□□□ 3/10 While she may stay up late at night, either to play VR games or to conduct more experiments, she does not possess much more endurance than other normal humans.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■□□□□□ 5/10 She requires technology to use her power, but she fortunately lives in Castleburg, where there are robots and other machines aplenty.

GEM: The 4-legged machine with a dog-like AI to act as Megumi's pet. Bought by her father in an attempt to give her company. Megumi customized and improved upon it with time, giving it a few more special capabilities. Within it lies several yards of cable, suitable for grappling, trap-setting, constraining, etc. The cables are also interwoven with nanomachines to allow it to maneuver around more freely than simply being shot towards a target. Of course, Gem can also transform into the bipedal humanoid body that uses Megumi's hero identity name: Gematria. Name 📱 Nico Kyles.
Hero Identity 📱 Viper.
Nicknames 📱 Blue.
Age 📱 Nico appears to be in his late teens, or early twenties. 📱 In truth, Nico is over sixty years old.
Gender 📱 Male.
Affiliation 📱 Full-Time Operative for HERO. 📱 Former Assassin.
Appearance 📱 Standing at a meager five feet and four inches, Nico offers very little in regards to an intimidating presence. In fact, the response to seeing this young man tends to find itself split between curiosity, and oftentimes discomfort. Indeed, Nico affords onlookers an adequately serpentine appearance, and while his proportions warrant a petite expression, Nico's notably large eyes have allowed for several different reactions. He is a slender creature weighing no more than a hundred pounds which carries his scrawny, sylph-like shape.
📱 Was one to see Nico without the obfuscation of clothes, he'd reveal a lithe body lacking any notable expression of muscle. Rather, the young man leaves much to be desired, and a trained eye would likely consider him underweight. Following the theme deduced by simply looking at Nico's face, his silken, porcelain body appears less than human, with a blue tint, and surface reminiscent of velvet scales. Below his large mess of black hair, Nico displays two small, pointy-sharp ears.
📱 A closer inspection would reveal a distinct lack of hair on Nico’s body, an obvious result of his mutant nature. He has, however, not been spared scars associated with the rough occupation dictating the majority of his life. Though healed, and somewhat difficult to deduce due to his blue nature, they do attest to Nico’s experiences. Mimicking the rest of his shape, Nico possesses dainty digits, each one ending in a small, clawed talon. Peculiar, indeed, each of Nico’s fingers appear to be slender claws, which robs him of finger pads, and is further parroted by his toes.
📱 He often maintains a rather apathetic expression, which goes hand in hand with Nico's personality. It is not uncommon to earn a soft smile from the young man, which is a general response to others. On a more detailed note, Nico's mouth and tongue are black, similar to a Black Mamba, the snake.´Sharp teeth make themselves known, would he open his mouth, with two pronounced canines on each side.
📱 In regards to clothing, Nico seeks comfort over fashion. The mutant is commonly seen in unzipped hoodies where a strap crosses his chest and ends in a shoulder bag. He feels most at home in cargo pants, and converse shoes. Fingerless leather gloves tend to find their way to his hands, as other options have proven to result in easily ruined fabric.
📱 At his side, the boy carries a kinetic pistol alongside a badge which confesses his position as a HERO Operative. This weapon finds itself on his person at all times, and despite being little more than an effective tool, the mutant seems to cherish it deeply.
📱 Nico carries himself with a reclusive stance, and despite his unique appearance, attempts to fade into the background to the best of his ability. Due to this, his large, serpentine eyes are often aimed at the floor, and his body language can come off as shy, and withdrawn. Rhis would be further enhanced by his obviously lacking social skills, which his body-language would attest to.
Personality Traits Exterior 📱 Mellow 👾 This young man appears rather somber, which is further elevated by his approach and body language. He often avoids eye-contact, and speaks with a quiet tune.
📱 Reserved 👾 Nico rarely seeks out company. It happens, naturally, but he doesn't go out of his way to make friends. Perhaps he should, and perhaps one day he will.
📱 Short-spoken 👾 The Viper is a creature of few words. He tends to express himself more through his actions than a conversation.
Interior 📱 Empathetic 👾 Beneath that clearly asocial exterior resides a sweet young man who might surprise you with acts of endearment. It is also quite clear that Nico sympathises with his surroundings, and would attempt to offer emotional aid when able.
📱 Fun-loving 👾 Yes, the quiet, reserved, and withdrawn ex-assassin actually enjoys doing fun things. Watching movies, going to a theme park, and more. He may not show it, but he's enjoying himself. Promise.
Bio It is not uncommon for aspiring heroes to have a less than preferable background. Poverty, humble beginnings, and perhaps even crime. Everyone has a past, as they would say, and very few individuals could claim clean hands. Least of all a boy by the name of Nico Kyles. The blue-skinned, serpentine young man who found his place situated behind the scope of a rifle. It was called ‘The Vigil’, a vague name encompassing a shrouded organization, neither the first, nor the last of its nature. Villains by every respect, a league of assassins, one might say. A group of shadows enacting the will of those with enough resources to spare. Indeed, as the story so commonly goes for these communities of outcasts, those living on the edge of society, recruitment found itself centered on forgotten youths. Criminals, orphans, those cast aside to fend for themselves in increasingly dangerous gutters. It was where they found the blue serpent, a quiet boy whose survival had hinged on obfuscation.
He was a weak child, Nico Kyles, at a mere twelve years of age. A scavenger. Would one dive into his short past, enough digging may have revealed his name associated with an orphanage those who had survived its clutches would consider cruel. He had escaped, the meta-human who from then on would call the shadows his home.
-
Silence lingered, a well-dressed woman standing with hands gently resting behind her back. Her eyes were fixed on a peculiar boy whose breaths were rapidly leaving tired lungs. He had been running, attempting to escape. It was for naught, as he was quite clearly cornered at the end of this fruitless endeavor. “Are you not fed up with residing in filth, dear one?” A soft voice, one most would consider motherly left shrouded lips, bright green eyes meeting the azure gaze of Nico’s snake-like orbs.
“I..,” the youth stammered, claws gently pushing at the wall behind him, in a desperate attempt to escape. He had already tried, and he had failed. It led him to a dead end. Little did the meta-human Nico Kyles know, that this interaction would proceed to change his life, going forward.
-
‘The Vigil’, a name Nico, or ‘Serpent’ as he was graciously coded, would hear on a daily basis. ‘You live for The Vigil, you fight for The Vigil, you die for The Vigil’. Though promises of a comfortable life were eagerly presented upon his initial conversation with The Handler, gruesome training soon followed. One might ask, what was the purpose of this shadow organization, what was their mission? It was rather simple. Assassinating heroes. In truth, the group’s initial assignment was quite different. They were a more traditional division of hired killers, but once an understanding of profit reached the forefront, their target narrowed itself on heroes. Veterans, aspiring prospects, public gems, it was a gold mine.
Though Nico lacked what most of his peers possessed, brute force, flamboyant powers, and massively destructive means, he would quickly display himself as a lethal operative. Patience, stealth, wits, composure, and of course, a natural affinity for the hunt. Nico was quick on his feet from the moment he was found, and his mastery of marksmanship was often called a latent talent unraveled by ‘The Vigil’. Though melee combat was a struggle for the Serpent, he displayed an impeccable ability to lean against his agility in regards to survival. Dodging, maintaining constant movement, and finding weak spots in far more powerful enemies.
What would further allow him to maintain a title of ‘The Perfect Assassin’ came in regards to his powers, the ability to replicate items. A shot could never be traced, as it vanished at his behest, leaving nothing but a bullet wound in its wake. He was always armed, despite not wearing every weapon on his body. Lethality came from obfuscation and trickery.
-
The fight was almost over, a battle Nico had observed through the scope of a silenced rifle, a contest taking place far from his position. Calmly, The Serpent waited, an eye peering through his tool in anticipation for the perfect moment. The hit was supposed to be a spectacle, a memorable moment. It was raining, a scene Nico recalled clearly, an exchange between a hero, and a villain. Blows were consistently traded, one punch after the other causing the participants to stagger. A city was watching, news conveying the event at every turn.
The Serpent had analyzed his target, a sturdy man, a brick wall. There was no chance of a bullet piercing his exterior, but the super powered punches of his enemy allowed for an opening. A cut on the hero’s chest. Nico had two options, exploit a wound, or a shot through the eye. The latter would allow for a greater spectacle, but the former would hide an assassin's involvement. It would appear as if the hero fell as a result of his battle. It would remain a spectacle, of course, a veteran losing a fight.
Lining up his shot, Nico took a breath, and the trigger was pulled.

It was difficult to say how long the Serpent remained within his organization, but the desire to leave was growing exceedingly more prevalent. How many heroes had he killed, at this point? It would be a lie if he claimed to know. He hadn’t counted. However, with the decline of heroes due to artificial intelligence, the agency's use was growing less prominent. Heroes were losing their role, and as such, were becoming smaller targets. It would eventually shift ‘The Vigil’ from one hunt, to the other, from heroes to businessmen, back to their roots.
Stories of an assassin growing a conscience were not rare. With enough blood to wash away an otherwise jaded tint, sight of what was beyond eventually made itself known. Nico was growing tired. This had been his job, his life, for something of thirty years. It was fair to claim that guilt was setting in. How much worse had he made the world, throughout his career? How many heroes had fallen to his silent approach? Nico never believed in a higher purpose, he never did this because he felt like he wanted to make a difference. Any deeper analogy would have been a lie. Nico was simply a lost boy who had been given a purpose, and he exacted that position, up until the moment different thoughts were set in motion. Officially, Nico did not exist. His very being had been scrubbed from every system. He was unknown to the world, an odd meta-human without a name or identity. Rather, he had several identities, several fake documents, none of which were truly his.
Leaving was, however, not an option. ‘The Vigil’ would never allow such a transgression. Perhaps it was the overwhelming sensation of wanting another purpose, or his desire to simply be free, but the total denial of both, an eternal existence within the shadows of this organization was too much. Nico reached for his gun.

”After everything we’ve done for you..,” a weak voice forced its way past The Handler’s lips, now an old woman in direct contrast to her killer, Nico Kyles, who had remained youthful. Medical analysis had revealed why, of course, and it was fair to claim that this helped push Nico in the direction he had chosen. He would not live out eternity as a weapon.
“This could have been avoided,” came a response from the serpentine young man. He was well aware of The Handler’s answer long before she gave it, and made sure to prepare for the inevitable battle to come. Taking his time, the assassin had made sure to set explosives throughout their sanctum, detonating them the moment she gave the order to neutralize the Serpent for a desire to abandon his duty.
“You think.., anyone else will take you..?” More strained words amongst burning debris. In truth, Nico did not care. From here, he was free to do anything. He would pursue that freedom, and it started with a final trigger of his pistol.

Though painting had been a civil job Nico adored, putting down his gun and replacing it with a brush, the former assassin found that a desire had been presenting itself throughout the years of his retirement. An actual desire to make a difference, without killing. He had been a villain for far too long. Perhaps it was time to make amends, perhaps it was time to aid the heroes he had once fought. Nico recently moved to the massive, flamboyant city of Castleburg, and a believer in fate would perhaps have told him that it was destined. However, the moment Nico offered his services to HERO, he had begun a new chapter.
Miscellaneous 📱 N/A.
Ranking 📱 Power Rank - C.
📲 Nico can replicate items, and for this to be done, he has to manage a process dubbed 'Imprinting'. 📲 Upon touching an object, he can connect with it and conjure replicas of the item at will. 📲 Once Nico has Imprinted with an item, he can manifest a copy of this item wherever he finds himself and no longer needs to have the original in his possession to manage the feat. 📲 This is, of course, until he needs to Imprint with the item again, if another Imprint overwrote the first.
📲 Each replica is permanent until Nico allows it to disappear or until another replaces it.
Weight ❌ The item cannot weigh more than two pounds.
Quantity ❌ Nico can Imprint with three items at a time. ❌ He can create one replica of each item at a time.
Substance ❌ The user of this ability can only replicate solid items. ❌ No substances to speak of.
Biological Material ❌ A Polykinetic of this level cannot replicate anything which isn't inanimate. ❌ Biological material is beyond Nico’s ability.
Usage ❌ Unlike many other powers, a Polykinetic's abilities are entirely reliant on external forces. ❌ Nico’s abilities cannot further any goals by themselves, as would be the case for a fire slinger or ice breather. ❌ In other words, the Polykinetic requires an ingredient in the form of an object for their ability to be useful.
Integrity ❌ A Polykinetic's manifestations can only aid the user as far as the inanimate object he has Imprinted with is possibly capable of stretching itself. ❌ An Imprint with a weak item will result in a weak execution.
Enhanced Imprinting ❌ Nico is able to Imprint with an item which someone else has enhanced with their own powers, at a Minor Level, currently. ❌ However, an item that has been greatly enhanced by powerful abilities is yet beyond Nico’s capabilities to replicate.
Bio-Organic Cellular Duplication ❌ Those attuned to Polykinesis are quite unique in the way that their cells do not split, but rather they replicate. ❌ A cell deteriorates every time it splits which in turn causes aging. This appears entirely vacant in a Polykinetic's biological makeup. ❌ Additionally, due to this, their bodies are frozen in time and cannot shift, evolve, or form in any way. ❌ This ability is considered a weakness because Nico is limited to the petite frame he has today and he cannot build muscle or gain weight.
Role ❌ Polykinesis in itself is harmless. ❌ It requires the user to implement it into some kind of martial combat. ❌ Polykinesis is an entirely utility-based ability.
Collections ❌ Nico can replicate a gathering of items that are connected, as a single Imprint. ❌ However, no matter how small the item is, unless Nico combines it with another object, it will confiscate an Imprint spot. ❌ Example - Nico can Imprint with a magazine of bullets or a single bullet, and the result with take up one of his three spots.
📲 Every time Nico uses his ability, the item he creates constructs itself into existence as if digital building blocks.
📲 If by chance, Nico would create a new gun magazine while there is a bullet in the chamber of his pistol, he would need to eject it, first. Otherwise, the chamber is left empty after he reloads. Due to this, Nico tends to empty the mag before reloading to save time. He would otherwise need to Imprint with the same magazine twice to get around this. Using a revolver also works, because of the cylinder.
📲 Nico generally has a combat knife and his handgun ammunition Imprinted. The third slot is saved for what type of mission he’s on.
📲 It is difficult to use Nico’s powers in conjunction with someone else, considering how he only has three slots to occupy, and wouldn’t want to waste one or more of them.
Physical Strength 🔹🔹◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️ Nico's strength does not surpass that of an ordinary human. In fact, The Viper can be considered somewhat weaker than the average man.
Agility 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹◻️ True to his appeareance, Nico's snake-like finesse, reflexes, and acrobatics are impressive to say the least. His light, nearly weightless body moves with nimble grace, and precision. While not a result of his powers, it is most certainly the result of his mutant body, alongside training, and experience. Where he lacks physical strength, Nico is mobile, athletic, and quick on his feet.
Intelligence 🔹🔹◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️ Nico would not claim to be smarter than your average joe. His mental focus has been quite singular throughout his life.
Destructiveness 🔹◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️ Neither Nico himself nor his powers are destructive by nature. Considering the utility-based nature of his abilities, it is impossible to cause direct harm with them. Rather, Nico narrows in on his target, and rarely if ever damages the environment in the process.
Lethality 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 In direct opposition to destructiveness, Nico is incredibly deadly. Going hand in hand with his powers, The Viper is a silent and avenger. His marksmanship is certainly to be feared, and his ability to find weak points in enemies warrants great care. He is quick to aim, and quicker still in pulling a trigger. With his powers allowing for no end of offensive resources, Nico has claimed his reputation. Be it by rifle, pistol, or knife, Nico wields his instruments with deadly grace, and makes sure to prepare before confronting a more powerful mark. Accuracy, speed, stealth, and exploiting weaknesses.
Endurance 🔹◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️◻️ Nico's small, nimble form does is not very resilient in the slightest.
Efficacy 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹◻️◻️◻️◻️ Considering the nature of his powers, there are no direct drawbacks to using them. Viper can utilize these powers at any time, and they are performed at no risk to himself, or anyone else. Nico has also grown very accustomed to them, throughout the years.
Skills 📱 Nico is quite excellent at drawing.

[ APPEARANCE ]
There isn't really too much to say about Gamma, he looks pretty ordinary as far as he's concerned. He has curly white hair, brown eyes, and stands at about 5'9". He appears to be skinny, but actually has a rather wiry build beneath his clothes. Graham doesn't really have much preference for what he wears, or even much of a fashion sense to speak of in general. If you tell him it looks good on him, he'll happily wear it, even if it's a blatant lie.
Graham doesn't remember much about his early life, only life in the facility. He, along with many other children, were collected and brought to the facility to take part in the Typhon Project, led by a man who called himself The Poacher. The Poacher would always claim that these experiments would make them infinitely stronger, beings beyond any machine. In return for their gifts, all he asked was that they accept him as their father, and give him their loyalty in his quest to save the entire world, from both the vile, corrupt 'heroes' who treated humanity as if they were nothing, and the mindless machines who supported them.
Of the 42 children gathered over the years, Graham became the third of just seven who were considered 'successful' subjects. This was how he earned a name, changing from Subject 33 to Gamma. From then on, he served the Poacher as a loyal minion, protecting him from a number of rivals and outside forces alongside his 'siblings', and even leaving the facility to aid him in other missions. These often involved conflicts with heroes, and though at first they were just more enemies, but as they got into more and more fights with them, he began to notice something... different... The way they would fight almost always seemed to focus around defence, protecting the weaker normal humans when they could have taken the opportunity to attack them. This came to a head when an accident during a fight nearly led to one of his younger siblings, Epsilon, being crushed by falling debris, only to be saved by the hero they were fighting at the time. He would never forget the emotions he saw pass over that heroes face as Epsilon was pushed clear of the rubble.
That look of pure, unadulterated relief.
It wasn't just him that had been affected either. Upon returning to the lab and talking to the rest of his siblings, it was clear that they all agreed on some level that something wasn't right. They'd been told that the people the world called 'heroes' were all monsters, sadistic and unforgiving people who would kill them on sight. By fighting them, they were saving the world, one fight at a time. And yet one had just given their life to protect Epsilon, their enemy. They decided it was time to start looking into things a little further. Perhaps their father had just misunderstood something, maybe he could work together with the heroes, and they could all protect the world as a team!
As it turned out, there was a misunderstanding, but not on the Poachers side. As their secret hunt for information continued, they found themselves confronted with more and more evidence that their father was not the hero he claimed to be. The things he had done, the things they had done, they were truly horrific. Moreover, they served no real goal other than to further the mans own experiments. It was likely he would continue this process until they were all killed, or until he achieved... something... So they all collectively decided they wouldn't give him the chance, at least not with them.
For almost a full year and a half, they planned their escape, until finally, just a few days before Gamma turned eighteen, they found their chance. A team of heroes had discovered the lab, and had launched an raid. Instead of rushing to engage the intruders like the Poacher had ordered, they instead used the confusion to sneak around them and try to leave. However, before they could make it out, they found themselves face to face with the Poacher himself, who declared that he had caught onto their plans a few months prior, and would destroy them before allowing them to leave, if only to prevent his research from potentially falling into the hands of his rivals. To this end, he released something horrific on them, the unsuccessful subjects of the Typhon Project. Mindless humanoid abominations, who knew only hunger, pain and anger. It seemed unlikely that they'd make it through them, if not for the two oldest siblings, Alpha and Beta, putting everything they had into clearing a path through the horde so Gamma could take the others and escape.
Finally, after years of living as little more than weapons, they were free. However, they still had the issue of trying to survive on their own in a world they don't really know much of anything about, especially the younger ones. They managed to survive for a little bit, but Gamma, now calling himself Graham, was seriously beginning to wonder if he could actually take care of them properly as the new oldest sibling. In fact, it seemed quite likely that he would end up letting them down, having gotten them all out of the lab only to fall to one of the many dangers of the outside world.
Until they met a man with tired eyes, who offered him a chance to be someone who can protect his family, protect everyone.
A chance to be a hero.
| MISCELLANEOUS |
Graham has four surviving siblings, only two of which were old enough to have worked in the field along with him, Alpha and Beta. The two who were old enough for field work were Delta at seventeen, now named Delilah, and Epsilon at fifteen, now named Ellis. The younger two are Zeta at thirteen, now Zeke, and Eta at just seven, now calling herself Elise.
ABILITIES
[ RANKING ]
B rank
[ POWERS ]
Graham can assimilate the dna of any living creature he's eaten into his own body, allowing him to either transform parts of his body into theirs, or grow new ones to mimic them. This allows him great versatility at close range, transforming to adapt to most situations with great efficiency. However, at long range he is unfortunately limited to either throwing things or trying to close the distance between him and his opponent.
Naturally, the act of transforming burns an incredible amount of energy and calories, and he therefore has to eat an equally incredible amount of food in order to keep his power from literally starving him to death. In addition, transforming too many times in a short period can easily leave him exhausted, so he has to be very careful not to get careless in that area, a task that can be quite difficult given his impulsive nature.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■■■■■■■□□□ 7/10 Graham has been fed the meat of many animals that wield strength far beyond that of an ordinary human, such as bears and gorillas, and oxen. When manifested, these allow him a great boost to his own physical strength.
[ AGILITY ] ■■■■■■■■□□ 8/10 Agility is one of the areas where Graham's power really shines. By transforming his legs, feet and relevant back muscles into those of a frog, or better yet, a flea, he can leap great distances easily. With a few more transformations on top of those to change the form of the leg, he can put those muscles towards running speed instead, with equally incredible results. He can manifest wings of birds he's eaten for flight, or the fins, tails and gills of fish to move freely underwater. Though he may not have true super speed, when it comes to mobility, they're just about the only ones who have him beat.
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■□□□□□□□□ Intelligence is something of a falling point for Graham. He just doesn't have much knowledge on how to live out in the real world, despite Jeremy's best attempts to teach him. On top of that, he never actually had any real schooling in the lab, as most academic knowledge didn't really serve his purpose as a humanoid weapon. He can read, write, and count decently enough, but almost any other subject is lost on him. The only things stopping him from falling to a one are his sharp instincts and tracking abilities, a decent grasp of combat tactics, and a surprisingly good understanding of biology and the animal kingdom, having been deemed absolutely necessary by the Poacher.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■■■■■□□□□ 6/10 Graham has relatively few options available to him if he wants to damage buildings and the like. Sure, for small things he can definitely do a number of things, such as smashing through doors or walls with the arms of a mantis shrimp, but he is unlikely to be toppling buildings on his own any time soon.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■■■■■■■■□ 9/10 Teeth, claws, spines, venom, aformentioned mantis shrimp arms, Graham is a being built to end life, and to his shame, he is exceptionally good at it.
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■■■■■■□□ Sometimes humans forget just how incredible animals can be when it comes to defence. The iron clad beetle has to have a hole drilled through their shells before scientists can mount them with pins. A certain type of deep sea snail known as chrysomallon squamiferum is covered in hard scales, and has literal iron incorporated into it's shell. Graham can grow these shells over his skin, scaled up to match his human size. Another aspect of his power is that he can also nullify any poisons, venom, or parasites he ingests. Dangerous materials such as sharp bones or inorganic materials will still cause damage due to injuries, but he can eat food no matter how old it would normally be, even if it's rotten.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■■□□□□ While highly versatile, Graham's power to transform is limited depending on how much he's eaten recently. If he's got a lot stored away, he's good to go, but if he hasn't eaten enough in the last few hours, it could fail him right when he needs it most.
[ SKILLS ]
Incredible instincts Close combat Extremely skilled at tracking Surprising amount of knowledge on biology, particularly the animal kingdom Not a bad cook

Hey howdy hey party people! I've been talking to a friend who is on here, and this seems like a nice place to be. I would like to join if you all have room.
We'd be happy to have you. Feel free to join us on the Discord server!
Location: Mount Justice, Communications Complex Interacting with: Squad A
The squads seemed to be splitting off into discussion groups to have short chats before they went. Alisa went over to join Squad A, the infiltration team. Kas- Mirage, Zatara, Metamorph, and Talon. Interesting group. Alisa knew nothing of the finer points of strategy, but she could see why Talon had picked them all. His reasoning made sense.
“Winter clothes are a great idea, Zach. It’s late fall in the Southern Hemisphere right now, and La Hoya is in the southern part of Argentina, so it will be cold.” It would probably be a good idea for her to go get winter clothes too. While she was resistant to extreme temperatures, her joints could still freeze up and stiffen. Finding suitable winter gear here wouldn't be difficult at all.
Alisa turned her head to Ja when he spoke. “Ooh, snacks! Yes, bring those. It’s a long flight both ways, and you’ll probably get hungry.” Admittedly, Alisa often forgot that others actually needed food, so she was glad somebody had remembered. “Maybe bring some candy? Some water? You’d know better than me.”
“I’m gonna go get some winter gear and then hop into the jet. See you guys in a few!” With that, Alisa walked out of the communications complex, in search of some winter gear. Hm. Maybe the supply closet...
