Watching the kid scram off, Kali returned her attention to the pregnant woman and Kaitlyn. She, too, was now running late to work. In Kaitlyn's case, however, she had already been at her stop when the attempted robbery had happened while Kali still had some length to go before arriving at her destination. Trying to play the hero was already eating into her upcoming paycheck, and if Kali didn't want to lose any more potential money (and tips), then she had to get going as well.
"You too. Maybe we'll see each other again if you ever happen to stop by the restaurant." Kali replied, flashing a quick smile as Kaitlyn proceeded to leave.
Turning back towards the train platform, Kali glanced momentarily at the pregnant woman.
"It shouldn't be too long before the next train gets here." She had no idea where the woman was going, but it was likely they would be travel buddies for awhile if she was still planning on going the same way.
"I'm going to head back now if you're coming. Hopefully, the kid is long gone now and won't be causing you or anyone else any more trouble."
