Learning the vocab of a new script can be a pain. At least BBCode syntax is simple.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gremlin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Trinity Stratos

Trinity smiled softly at Karn, patting his head and scratching lightly under his chin, behind his ear. She looked around before standing and putting Karn against her shoulder, speaking softly to him as she moved away, somewhere she could talk to him away from a big crowd. It wouldn't do to make this into a big scene. As she walks, she speaks to him, sweetly, "aren't you just the most precious thing. A precious little ball of fluff. But more than that, too, y'know? You're really sweet and you shower love on your friends. But, Karn, you should rely more on us, too." By now, she's secluded herself from the crowd, tucking herself into a corner and putting up a close-fit bubble shield. "Why didn't you tell us? If it's these guys, they'll find a way. I'm sure of it."

"I suppose I can count myself among them, then, because I think I have an idea. A friend of mine owes me a wish, and I want to see if he'll change it. His magic is a little hard to predict, but its result is reliable. Just not the... byproduct." She smiles softly, patting Karn's head. "... Prince said you don't have long. Wanna try it out? Maybe it'll cure you. Maybe it won't... Gamble a few days, get your whole life? You might even just break even. Please? Karn? Don't give up on life, please..."
I was talking about when I joined up, but yeah, that one, too. Good job, Caits.
Trinity Stratos

It wasn't long before the young minstrel stopped, sighing, relenting, and stroking Karn's head tenderly. "Ohh, sweety... I'm sorry." She gave another, more frustrated sigh and leaned her head back. She'd gotten ahead of herself, and let herself risk hurting him worse. But, maybe she could buy them a little time, instead? No, she's probably be better off spending her strength finding him a cure or... something. Someone else was already giving him strength through magic. She had no idea how her own magic strength would measure up, if it even would. "Dammit. He's right here and I can't do anything for him..."

An idea dawned on her, then, but Jamie wouldn't approve, and Trinity felt like Penny would probably know enough to know that. But, if she was going to get any sort of approval for going into the city, she'd need an escort. Vivian, you slimy old woman. Tactical social maneuvering, as she might dub it. "We're not going to find any answers here. We should look in the city. I have no idea where to start... bars? Probably better to ask around at the other guilds, actually." The minstrel remembered that Nero had mentioned something about visiting other guilds like Dragon's Fang before, so maybe that was something he did often. And it was a great place to search for clues about Karn's illness anyway.
Whoa, what? Has it seriously been more than 8 months?
Penny can hunt him down and Trinity can go off to bump into Nero? She has a new wish to make that she feels more earnestly about. @Lugubrious
Private Durandal

"Attenborough...?" Regan Durandal gazed hazily at Sergeant Harald, unsure who the blob supporting her was, exactly. He set her down in an armchair, much to the private's relief. "My head... and my back." She put a hand to her head, as though trying to sooth some stinging wound. "I'm... causing trouble again, aren't I?" She smiled apologetically for a moment, before returning to her misery. "Heavy... Mnn. Nngh...!"

She winces, her headache magnifying and multiplying. She cradles her head in her hands and forces herself to breathe. After she gasps for air, her breathing changes and becomes very measured and controlled. It progresses through several phases, gradually slowing, before she gives a final, slow heave of an exhale while she sits back in her chair. "The roof must have- Mn... hit me. I got off easy. Somehow."
