So, magus generations are more than normal ones, given their longevity. The Archibalds' nine generations are regarded as first-rate, for instance. As a rule of thumb, anything above the Archibalds is unreasonable for this.

This is the first I've heard of it- I didn't see anything like that in the artbooks or omnibus. If anything, they just say that the number of generations in a Magus family don't equal power- I mean, just look at the Matous. Even the gap between generations, judging by the stuff I can find, doesn't seem that big. Granted, I've only got points of evidence in Shirou, Kamiya, and Rin in relation to their parents. From what I can see, the generations are about the same length, unless you start including vampires (like Zelretch) and cheaters (like Zouken). Usually an older family just means they have more resources, connections, and a wider knowledge base.

Also, from what I remember, the Archibald magical tradition goes back for OVER nine generations.

Combining the meaning of runes means you're a prodigy that surpasses geniuses by far. You can theoretically app that, but expect everyone to know who you are then. If you're just a "master" of runes, you'll be able to access all the meanings of an individual rune, but can't combine meanings. Combining meanings is high-level stuff.

...Didn't Bazett and Cu Chulainn, a Lancer, know how to make combinations of runes? Neither of them really screamed "Master of the Arcane" to me. I figure if Bazett, a 23-year-old who specializes in punching stuff, and Lancer, whose gimmick was being "Irish Hulk" can do combinations of runes, a man who spent 50 years practicing rune magic can suss it out.
How many generations is the family?

About 44- the general rule for calculating generations is [current year-base year]/25, to simulate 25-year generations. I'd say that the family's been around since about 900 AD, but hasn't really tried to do much in the way of influence.

Whatever this method of getting around the range problem is, add it to the profile.

Will do!

No bows from Yggdrasil wood, that's too high-tier. They can be enchanted to go for long distances/ignore outside influences, but it shouldn't be at the level of literal travel for days. If people could do that then brooms would be useless and Arash would be old and busted.

I have no idea what brooms have to do with archery, but okay.

Runes are fine, but since they're runes, I will ask that you provide a runic alphabet. Ergo, pick something like Elder Futhark or whichever he'll use, and give the effect each rune makes. Since he's experienced and runes are his thing, he'll be able to understand the true meaning of the rune.

I was assuming Elder and/or Younger Futhark, given the whole "viking mage" thing. The thing is, the way runic and heiroglyphic writing systems work involves a lot of contextual interpretation, and combinations of runes do various things with the word. I'm afraid I'd rather not do 12,144 entries detailing every possible permutation of 3 runes.
Name/Title: Erasmus Tormod

Gender: Male

Age: 55

Personality: Erasmus is a traditionalist mage who's coming to terms with the idea of his own mortality after the death of his wife of thirty years in a car accident. As such, he's decided to make the best of the time he has left, spending as much of it as he can with his grandkids and trying new things. He's gotten a crash course in the modern world, always trying to get more time for his grandkids and hobbies. As he likes to say: "50 is the new 30."

Appearance: Hrmph.

Biography: Again, born to a long line of Runic mages dating back to the Vikings, the Tormod family has always been wealthy. Erasmus was raised in the traditions of magecraft. Eventually, he married, had kids, and then they had grandkids. His wife was killed returning from the airport to drop the children off for summer camp, which lead Erasmus to worry about what would happen to his grandchildren when he was gone. His plan is to use the Grail for something most Mages would find insultingly mundane- to ensure his grandchildren will be secure long after he passes. He's traveled halfway around the world in search of a grail war with few experienced maguses with no catalysts. Unfortunately, he's not much better off on the catalyst front- the gold coin from Beowulf's treasure horde got lost in the basement back at his mansion. The scales from Jormangundr were swept up by the maid. The hammer of Albericht, the legendary dwarven blacksmith, was also taken. He's just got to take what he can get.

Family History (if applicable): Nothing really notable, aside from Erasmus's ancestors using their magic to strike it rich.

Origin: Construction

Elemental Affinity: Earth

Number of Magic Circuits: A

Quality of Magic Circuits: C

Od: A

Magecraft: Erasmus's family has been practicing Rune Magic since the days of the Vikings. He has a large number of mid-level magic circuits, meaning he can cast spells in rapid succession. As such, he knows how to draw the runes from memory and is capable of doing so in the heat of battle. Of course, one of the main issues with using Rune Magic in combat is finding a way around the range problem... which he claims to have done with help from his grandkids.

Equipment: Dozens of branding irons, chalk, a hammer and chisel, plate mail, a switchblade, a laser pointer, a Honda Jump-Z, a bottomless quiver, and a magic bow. The bow is carved from branches of the world tree, Yggdrasil, and engraved with dozens of runes- chief among them "Journey" and "Home," meaning that projectiles fired from this bow have no dropoff or deviation from their initial course- allowing the arrows to travel for days if nothing is in their path.

Skills: While Erasmus is in far better shape than he has any right to be at his age, he's still a 55 year old man and tires out quickly. However, he's also a SCA enthusiast, wielding swords, bows, and rapiers with ease as part of his regular Renaissance Fair attendance.
Kinji Takigawa, in Kagutsuchi

STAR NINGER SHURIKEN!

THE CHANGE!

Standing on a roof, having done the stereotypical ninja run to arrive, Kinji placed a golden shuriken on his phone. With the steely gaze of a veteran monster hunter, he glared at the masked puddle and puppeteer.

"Usually, when ya got some spook and some varmint with a puppet tryin' to keep you away, that's exactly where you need to go, so... Shuriken Change!"

Guitar music straight out of a hoedown played as Kinji spun the shuriken. The spinning image of a sheriff's badge appeared around Kinji's feet, rising up and encasing him in golden light as he held his guitar-sword-gun once again. The mask of a cowboy hat, star-shaped faceplate, and golden armor encased his head as he leapt into the air, playing a riff on the guitar as he landed, golden spandex appearing around his body.

"HIDING DOESN'T STOP PARTY NIGHT! THE SHINING STAR- STARNINGER!"

The sound effects were quick to punctuate this statement: STARNINGER- WOW!
The Shining Star- Kinji Takigawa

Projectiles soared through the air, towards the waiting mouths of those present. Long triangular shapes, tailed by plump round ones, flew like so many shuriken. The wafting smell of a finely-made broth followed swiftly behind. Indeed, Kinji was giving out free samples in the way only a ninja could. Jumping up to the roof of his oden cart, he let out a riff on his star-shaped guitar.

"YEEEE-HAW! I'm Kinji Takigawa, monster hunting ninja! How're y'all doin' today?"
Name: Kinji Takigawa
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: The Shining Star! STAR NINGER!
World of Origin: Super Sentai
Personality: Kinji's family, being monster hunters, hunt monsters to become stronger. He even takes pictures and footprints of any monsters he comes across. Ever since Kinji learned of Yoshitaka was a Ninja, Kinji has become a fanboy of all things related to ninjas and Youkai. He's definitely an odd duck- orders to assassinate people won't stop him from being friends with them, making them huge breakfasts, and then trying to ambush them by jumping out of a cookie tin later. He's extremely friendly, if a bit hyperactive.

History:
Kinji's family, since the days of the old west, has hunted monsters. So it should come as no surprise that, when Kinji was only a child, his father and brother met their demise at the hands of a werewolf when they forgot to pack silver bullets. Kinji sought out a legendary warrior who was in the states at the time- Yoshitaka Igasaki, the Last Ninja who sealed the feudal lord Kibaoni Gengetsu after his resurrection as a yokai. Kinji begged the ninja to train him so he could avenge his family, but the Last Ninja said he lacked "Nintality"- the true mindset of a ninja. Kinji was relentless, however, and the Last Ninja eventually agreed to train the boy- if Kinji could defeat him in battle. Yoshitaka thought this would deter the boy, who would consider it an impossible task...

...Instead, however, Kinji chased him around the world for a decade, eventually tracking him to Japan, where he came into conflict with Igasaki's grandchildren, the Shuriken Sentai: Ninninger. At first, he was more than happy to join their crusade against Kibaoni's army of yokai... but Yoshitaka had other plans. He charged Kinji with the assassination of his grandchildren within a month, hoping that they would clash and grow as ninjas and people. This fell through, however, as Kinji's repeated assassination attempts (and friendly breakfasts) were stymied by the international date line. Kinji, having failed, decided to take a vacation in Hawaii.

After returning to aid in a monster battle, he joined the Igasaki school officially, trained alongside them, and helped them defeat the Kibaoni forces. The Ninningers clashed, grew, changed, and became better than they were... and decided to go their separate ways and train for a few years before reconvening to choose the next to carry the title of Last Ninja. Kinji's continued monster hunting as he travels the world, selling oden using ninja techniques to spice up the presentation to support himself.

Abilities:
-Shuriken Ninpo: the fine art of merchandise-based ninjutsu. Though Kinji is capable of highly advanced techniques, he's self-taught, so many of the basics- such as the five-element techniques- give him trouble. He's capable of pulling the cloning, hurricane, and lightning techniques with ease, however.

Equipment:
-Ninja StarBurger: A cell phone, shuriken holder, camera, and detector of mythical creatures. It's also his morpher.
-Star Sword-Gun: A combination electric guitar, rifle, and sword, this is Kinji's signature weapon. Allows him to use his offensive Nin Shuriken.
- Nin Shuriken: there are some techniques that just need merchandise a little help.
--Furai Nin Shuriken: Kinji's dual-element shuriken allows him to use wind and lightning techniques- ranging from simple attacks to combinations like his finishing moves, Hurricane Fury Slashes and Rock N' Roll Thunder.
--Otomo Nin Shuriken: These shuriken allow Kinji to summon one of three Ninja Allies, giant robots which are capable of combination: the humanoid Rodeomaru, the Bison Buggy, and the transforming submarine, Surfermaru. Combining Bison Buggy with Rodeomaru or Surfermaru allows it to turn into his Megazord, Bison King.
Honestly, he'd keep to the Sentai/Ranger convention of not using the Zords, or Megazord, unless there was a threat that merits it- IE, something just as big. The Zords are for proportionate response only. As for storage... this is one of many places Ninninger is weird. While they were in the Kamen Rider Drive universe for a spring break special/extended movie commercial, they were able to summon their Megazord to fight the monster of the week. I'd just say they chill around the hub world playing giant robot go fish or something.

The Phoenix Skyline

Ghost Rider revved his bike once more, rocketing forwards.

Biggest stunt of your life, and the cameras aren't here. Figures.

The ninja leaped over the point that fixed the helicopter blades to the craft, toward the building across the way- a brownstone number. Not flammable, which was good. Ghost Rider leaned in.

Wind's right. Pushing up after it hits the buildings... should be enough lift...

The ninja landed on the blades, continuing his bunny hop. Ghost Rider's front wheel connected with the slope, flaming rubber shrieking through the city like a banshee's wail.

Weight distribution is right. Accounting for lift...

Johnny held his breath as he started the jump, Death Ninja just reaching the other side of the helicopter blades and starting his leap. But Johnny had the speed advantage, and something the Death Ninja didn't- an eight-cylinder monstrosity of hellfire and American engineering. And that meant Ghost Rider reached the other roof first. Death Ninja's eyes widened in fear as his feet left the helicopter blade, as Ghost Rider's began glowing red.

God I love the spook act.
"YOU WHO FACES THE SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE, SHALL FEEL THE FURY OF ALL THOSE WHO HAVE SUFFERED AT YOUR HANDS."

Orange beams shot out of the Ghost Rider's eyes as Death Ninja flailed, trying to avoid the attack. But it was too late. Thirty years of assassinations. Of crying families. Of fatherless sons, of sonless fathers, of interrogations and torture and poisonings. The pain of thirty years of victims washed over the ninja as he let out a raspy scream. His grip loosened, and sent two of the infants sailing. Which left him with one baby. Ghost Rider, meanwhile, stood on his bike to catch the babies left sailing through the air. Death Ninja, still reeling from pain, drew his sword with the free hand he'd desperately needed. He staggered about, but managed to hold it to the baby in a threatening enough way.

Ghost Rider set the babies down and sighed. Death Ninja was trying to escape with at least one baby. As the ninja pressed the blade in, a trickle of blood formed...

...shortly before a massive chain wrapped around the sword and jerked it away. The ironclad grip of rigor mortis was not Death Ninja's friend today, as he was pulled bodily from the ground and towards the Ghost Rider's waiting fist. With a sickening crack, Death Ninja was floored as Ghost Rider picked up the three babies, debating how to return to the ground without the use of his handlebars. His prayers were answered as the helicopter began rising. He gently set the three crying infants down, mounting his bike once again and riding off.
