Are Medusa's body hairs actually just tiny snakes?

Bio

I'm a sucker for romance, sci fi, fantasy and just about any modern city with a twist like monster hunting or super powers. Been writing for years, I didn't learn how to read till I was 12 so the moment I got the hang of it, I could not stop. Filling journals with stories one after the other, my younger sister eventually got me into role playing and it created a monster. I will play with you all day if you reply, post for post and will give you as much detail as I can.

Still thrashing above her Eden kept pushing back, seeing Reese in the corner of her eye yet she could not think of anything but hanging onto the beast. Adrenalin pumping through her veins the sound of her left arm being pulled from it's socket caused the woman to scream for a moment yet the rope tied made it so she kept holding on.

Chase wasted no time in taking advantage of the weakspot along with Reese, the beast couldn't move and its underbelly looked far softer than the rest of it, emptying his magazine into the creature's belly she felt his thrashing start to weaken, it was no glorious death, no great triumph like it would be explained in a book, he simply began to grow tired from the pain as roars turned to whimpers in what seemed like hours but could have simply been minutes. His body growing heavier she found herself falling to exhaustion as she laid back on the cooling dirt floor. His breathing larboard she groaned. "Someone needed to slit his throat, his head is plated, bullet would piss it off again, sword is in his mouth still if you need something."

Trying to get her breath back she looked to the sky, her body hurt but what else was new? "Chase? Chase where is she?" Thats all she cared about, not even really about the beast that was crushing her, she couldn't get out yet, not with it still alive and not with her arm pulled out of it's socket. All that mattered to her at the moment was her sister.
"Shes fine, still inside the shop."

"good, thats good"

Eden found herself more than relived for a breath when she saw the beast turn, only for her to feel her legs move on their own, grabbing her blade as she saw one of the other shooters staying too close in it's range.
She was trying to reach him in time, hands frantic yet practice she used the same rope and wrapped the hilt again before running only to see it take a swipe at the male. His wounds leaking he froze, only to injure himself even further for a boost of adrnile, she had to admit, she was impressed, an instinct that was given in.
The smell of gun fire and decay over powering, Eden used everything she had to climb back on, his hide slick with blood she used the toe of her boots to dig in causing it to turn and snap at her for a moment before trying to get back at the next meal. Trying to prevent the needless death she swung her arms forward, the blade glistening like a beacon for a moment as it hovered right in front of her mount's eyes as it screeched.
With a roar of her own, she pulled back, feeling herself fall backwards even with the amount of effort she gave as she felt the weapon lodge right between its teeth, forcing it back and unable to bite against the seering pain of irradiate blood ripping into flesh. It only taken one stubble for her to lean on the other side in time for the mini gun to push it to the ground.
"Shoot it! Its stomach, shoot it!"

She had no idea how long she could keep that up, she could feel the rope digging into her forearm, rubbing through her cloths and into her skin till it was raw, the beast crushing her leg it's fat was like a cushion but she had no idea how long till her luck ran out for it to break.
Hearing the name of Jacque the woman nodded her head, taking in apperences for a moment. He was bigger than most, almost bear like, with tanned skin and dreaded hair he seemed to be someone who could have been a poster child for a guild one day,
A hand still on her weapon in a non threatening manner as she worked. Yet with each scrap she could not help but feel eyes upon her. Starting out as a few blinks only to follow with tapping her finger she turned her black eye to the male with the gaze a arzuros would give if it were looking upon a scavenger pride began to hit with a voice that was rather sharp.
"Got caught by this guy when I was a kid if thats why your giving me that look." Tapping the blade in her hand as she spoke she brought them both back in their sheaths, hoping that was the reason for the staring just in time for everyone to start to be settled in.
,
A brow slightly raised at the offering to exchange information caused an interest to spike with her though. Shes never really worked with any outside her father so it would be a nice change of pace. "The more we know about each other the higher our success rate, aright I'll bite." Cracking her neck she gave a smile, it was all new and oddly welcoming.

"Well first things first I fight with duel blades, like the feeling of being right up there with a monster, sliding below and taking them down to keep em away from ranged hunters, makes it feel more on even terms, last partner was my own father and he used a bow so its how I work. Tend to watch a beast for a few days to a week before we move on them though."
Leaning back she looked to the ceiling, a thoughtful gaze between her and the wood frames as she bean to look for words. "As for who I am..Well I'm from a herding family of Anteka from my mother, started hunting to defend myself, than found out that with the way we saw females, my face would keep me from settling down so I just went all out on the profession till I came here." Her voice changing through the words she went from excited to seemingly board when on the topic of her life, as if she were being forced to read a book on the wonders of dung.

Leaning forward again she looked between the two, an easy air about her as she studied her future hunting partners. "Aright I spilled some of my guts, who's next?"
I'll post soon, hunting right now XD

Standing up Reen moved back to her horse, working with the saddle she unclasped the leather strap to pull out a steel bottle. "So, did the idiots turn you away or something? I been looking for my stable hand, shorter kid, blond hair, brown eyes, kinda stutters at times." Speaking as she walked over she offered the bottle. "Don't drink too fast, you look exhausted."

Yet something was off with what she said. "What do you mean? What is what?" Standing up she began to look around once more, her mare lowing it's head finally. "Well whatever you're worried about, Epona doesn’t seem to notice it, and trust me she'll tell ya if your in danger or not, can tell whats commin way before we see it."
Her voice having a vary light hint of an accent she knelt down by the girl, looking at her eyes to make sure she wasn't concussed. "Do you live around here? I'm offering you a ride back home I was on my way to the Peteron's anyway."
Reena

"Aright, just got to get to the Peterson's and see if they got everything tacked up." Her mare beneath her she held her seat, the sound of breaths from the animal and leather rubbing was sounding like gun shots in the woods. She was a few miles from her barn, not too far from the small town that everyone used. So why was it so quiet?

"This is getting insane" clicking her tongue to get Epona moving, the thumps of hooves entering the noise, every twig that snapped caused her to look up. The usual trails that they had gone through so many times her mare refused to cross. "Aright, Aright, we'll go a different way okay."
She knew the rules, never force your animal one way when in the wilderness, there was something out there. She couldn't figure out what it was, she hadn't see the dead walking, all she knew was that something was beyond wrong, the cross bow that thumped on her back was a reminder of the nagging in the back of her head.

Looking around she pulled the reins back, her breath caught in her throat when she saw a girl in the dirt. "Hey, hey come on wake up." A smooth motion she dismounted, boots crunching through the dried leaves as she made her way to the blond. Laying on her back she looked to be in a Daze, Reena knelt down beside her. "Hey, don't move too fast, anything hurt?"
Looking over her shoulder she only saw Epona, the mare's head still up, ears perked yet she didn't seem to be at a stand to run at a moment's notice. "Come on, I can give you a ride back to your house, its not safe out here."

Raising a brow at one of the hunters Reema sat back a bit confusion in her gaze only to take amusement at the startled face and stumbling words. "Roland huh? Reema Zarule, got here this morning." Sheeting one of her blades she began working on the left, the sounds of steel and far away jaggi cries still greeting her. "So, guess things could get done easier now that there are three of us, honestly I thought I was gonna be like the last hunter and do this alone."

Listing to Roland she found herself a bit surprised to hear the hunter speak in Feyline, that was new, she never really heard a lot of the language herself. "Handy skill" it was all she said as she kept working, realizing that she was the only one still strapped into her armour. Old habits dying hard she shrugged at the thought, pulling the blade slightly away so that food could be set down.
