Are Medusa's body hairs actually just tiny snakes?

Bio

I'm a sucker for romance, sci fi, fantasy and just about any modern city with a twist like monster hunting or super powers. Been writing for years, I didn't learn how to read till I was 12 so the moment I got the hang of it, I could not stop. Filling journals with stories one after the other, my younger sister eventually got me into role playing and it created a monster. I will play with you all day if you reply, post for post and will give you as much detail as I can.

Giving the girl a leg up Reena mounted after her, taking the leather reins in hand she gave the animal a click as she seemed to come to life from the command. Head rising, ears going forward she began to move. "Well, animals for one thing, more daring when you can't see em, than there are all these people trying to get across becoming desperate, whatever is keeping her from moving forward sometimes is another things."
Moving the horse forward it was a quiet ride, passing of trees and the occasional gun fire yet nether seemed to bother the mare or her rider. Yet as she turned her to a trail the mare would freeze, unwavering by a kick or command as she braced herself for anything. "Aright girl, aright, come on lets go this way."
Turning the mare they went another way, off the trail yet she seemed far easier by it. "First rule about trail riding, if your horse won;t go that direction than don't go, there is something down there."

A cream coloured house slowly coming to view Reena reached out to open a gate and let them through only to bend back and close it once more, the place looked like a doll's play ground, little gardens and red barns, chickens moving about, a pony becoming more dareing it began to follow them, head outstretched with curious eyes. "Miss Peterson?"
The words spoken ad Reena dismounted she knocked on the door to be met with a kind face of an other woman. "Oh hello Reena, good to see you dear anything wrong?"

Thats what she was worried about, the two were elderly enough that they don't pay attention to anything but what is going on at their own farm unless someone tells them. "I just came in to tell you that the city is..Miss Peterson can you have a seat? I brought a friend if thats okay."
A smile on the woman at the idea for company she waved them inside, the smell of candle wax engulfing her with a hint of cinnamon, furniture of horrid floral patterns with covers of burlap yet it was still comforting as she sat down. The old woman leaving for a moment she came back with a tray of sweats and ice tea that she sat on the table for the girls. "You must be starving after that ride, go one take what you want."

Yet the red head declined, "Miss Peterson, the city is under attack, I don;t know what is going on exactly but things are getting worse. I just came her to make sure everything is aright and that you understood that you two really do have to lock up tonight."

The woman who seemed to not have a care in the world began to freeze, slowly looking up at the rider with disbelief dancing in her eyes like a ballet. "What are you talking about? Is it a terrorist attack?"
"I don't know, all I know is that the city is starting to go under lock down and people are trying to get out."

"Oh no" her voice growing quiet the woman's hands began to shake. "I'll have to tell gorge, he's taking a walk to the fort we made the grandkids."
Eyes going wide at the words Reena stood, instinct kicking in she stayed quiet for a moment as the woman was asking her what was wrong. "I need you to stay here, I'll go get him." She didn't feel right, not at all, with parting word she gave the woman a pat before heading out the back door on the hunt for her husband.

The day was getting hotter as always, saving the Brahman’s back Aurora was carried by her sister, arms slung around the woman's neck as the quiet process of travels passed her by. Eden leading the way due to her being the only one that have been there she sat in silence for hour after hour, tempted to ask what her sister was reading but always falling short.

Instead as always she took her 10mm, taking it apart and putting it back together with careful and daft fingers. "How much further?" As if to answer the question for her all the red head had to do was look up to see them pass her garage.
"Few more miles."

Noticing her sister was slowing down though Aruroa looked at the woman who began to grow tired. "I can ride on the Bhraman you know? Least for a little bit." Yet all she got was silence, rolling her eyes the woman sighed at the response, "your so stubborn."
The group waited patiently outside, Aurora sitting on the steps, her chair already strapped to the Brhaman's back with her sister reading the same book that she has yet to give up, leather covers that were so faded the burned image could never be seen only felt, moth eaten pages turned over with care as golden eyes trailed through line by line.

The red head herself was looking at the town, a heaviness in her chest from the sight. Coming here everything was well, active, happy even, as well off as one could be in the wasteland, now it held shadows walking across the roads, growing smaller and smaller the more the sun rose for the start of their day.

Chase was by the cows, giving them a bag of feed he looked at the sisters who sat in silence, Aurora leaning ever so slightly to rest her head on Eden's shoulder yet even with the huntress’s beast like attitude, she did not move away from her sister. Listening to the steps around him, his caps low from the exchanges he made, yet he done some good trading with others for things they were going to need in supplies.
"Aright girls, next stop, vault 13"

"are you fucking insane? We're almost there, those jumps are her's!" Jhonny's words gaining a harsh whisper from the blond, James was left to see the other male run through the trees, taking the beast with it. Rumiging through the tricks he learned out here he began counting, "1, 6,10,20" at the numbers passed one by one he grabbed Frank telling him to run.

"If we get there fast enough we can get her weapons and ride back to save his ass. Come on" the kid began running faster than he had in some time. The foliage whipping at his legs and face, the old barn that gave way to fire being passed without so much as a thought as he began to climb a wooden fence. At a running pace it felt like hours till he began to see the first pasture, the blanketed body of one of the horses grazing through only to lift it's head at the sight of them yet he went passed to the main house, a two story that's door was still unlocked. Slamming open the door he looked at the wall only to find the cross bow was gone, "shit shes out"

Franticly he went down the halls, rounding a corner to open a door for a room that looked to have been some shut in nerds dreams, large computers, figurines from comics and video games still in the box, wall scrolls and mock weapons decorating the place. Yet he ignored it all as he went for the closet, going through the ridiculous costumes and larp outfits to find a safe he quickly punched in the buttons to pull out a set of 10mms.
"She has to have more somewhere, but this should work, lets just hope he decided to hide." He was shaking as he handed the weapon to Frank, looking out the window to see the animals outside his eyes laid on a cherry coloured mustang. "Azazel...Beauty here to" running a hand through his hair he sighed. "Do you know how to ride? Cause we can cut out time by more than half if we do."

Taking the steampack she put it in her pocket, Eden standing back up the woman extended her leg in a straight high kick, nodding to herself at the feeling.
"Well than Reese if you do need it tell me okay?" Just as the words were spoken Brick came out of the shop, packing up he actually thought he had to apologize causing the woman to shake her head. "You have no reason to apologize for that, you going to be holding up aright?" She knew that feeling, to wake up and find that people who you knew were gone, that people you trusted were killed. It messed you up, and you never really get over it.
James

they were getting close, he could see one of the old jumping rings that Reena made for english horses, branches and logs that were being reclaimed by nature as they fell from the wind alone. "Almost there, and shes taken me in, so long as your not a free loader. But your right, no one around here really knows how bad this is."

His blood running cold at the shrieks he looked up, clutching his pool cue, the only weapon he had on him as the stuff of nightmares began to fly over head. "Oh shit!"
He had no idea what that thing was, all he knew was that it needed to be dead. Now he was really wishing Reena gave him a crossbow sooner like she promised, that thing could do some serious damage! If only this shit happened after the holidays or something!

Hearing Roland's answer Reema began to think long and hard, mulling her words before speaking it was as if she were a quropeko who was trying to distinguish what it was she was looking at. "A blank slate that still is trying to find out what to think of them....I'll take it. I don't like beating around the bush so I'll just say it, if I find you disrespecting them knowingly for any reason I will leave you to be eaten right than and there. Those who don't understand that the creatures we face are as alive as we are have no business being hunters." Her cold gaze melting once the words were spoken she held out her hand for a shake. "But for now, I see no reason to not call you my fellow huntsman, I just hope you'll have my back as I'll have yours."

Yet as they eyes laid upon Jacque she began to wait paintantly for his answer, watching as his demeneor changed she could tell that it was a difficult answer. And indeed it was if it was the first time you were asked, she remembered it was the first question her father gave her even before he asked if she wanted to learn how to hunt.
Yet she found herself surprised with the answer. She was expecting him to be as animated as he was before when speaking of the great beasts. Yet instead he took it seriously, it was almost like he was speaking about his faith only for her to realize that in a way that was exactly as it was. She even found her gaze soften slightly at the words.
"All I ask from my partners is that they respect the monsters that give up their lives to continue ours." Doing the same she turned to the male, extending her hand in a promise of a long partnership where they will be trusting their lives together. "I'll be leaving at dawn, both of you are more than welcome to join me, bring some gear for forging as well, never know what you might find out there."

"Hey, easy, I'm not making you do anything darlin I'm just here to help." She knelt by the blond again, a rather calming tone in her voice that shes been using for years. Yet everything she said had began to sound more and more ridiculous, missing half their face? Were there people caught in an explosion or something?
Yet everything clicked when the girl said she was from the city. That made sense, that place was a war zone last she checked. "Listen I'm heading to the peterson's their an elderly couple so I'm making sure their okay, if you want you can come with me, I own a barn here, its off the main roads, no one is around there."

Raising a brow at the comment though Reena looked to here mare. "Well horses can read the heart rate of other creatures and distinguish threats through their instincts, so yeah, they can tell you if danger is near and are used for therapy because they can lower your own as well." The joke going right over her head she stood up, her crossbow patting on her back as she looked around again. "Listen hun its dangerous out here at night, head east, gotta keep the sun on your left shoulder and you'll hit the town, they have an inn there if you need a place to stay or you can hitch a ride with me, your choice."
no worries, just means you don't feel bad if you do something XD
@Sohtem

"You could be stabbing her and she won't bitch, shes more stubborn than a deathclaw." True to the red head's words Eden simply kept biting her lip, her tooth causing it to start to stain in red. "See, told ya"
All that Eden done was turn her gaze to Aurora yet the girl kept up her little grin. "What? Its true, your worse than dad was." Again she began to laugh slightly yet Eden seemed to change at the mention of their father, simply closing her eyes as she cupped her face in her hand, seeming to start to grow slightly board to anyone who didn't know her.
"Good" It was her only reply to Reese, least it was something different from her usual silence.

Aurora simply shrugged her shoulders at the answer. "I was lucky, moment everything happened Brick hid me in the back and gave me a shot gun and 10mm, came out unscathed aside from a bit tired out for it all." Eyes lighting up from the words though she quickly rummaged through her pockets only to hold out a steampack. "Here, you might need this more than I do."
