"What?"

The manifestation of Kimiko's miracle - an intense tempest of energy rolling off her body in powerful waves - drowned out Kaede's incredulous exclamation, its roars resounding throughout the burning hallway that the students occupied. And as Yatsufusa rose from her psyche and into the world itself, the two monsters of flame took note, with one even stopping its assault upon the vulnerable Kagami to turn its attentions upon the priest's daughter.

For a single, tiny moment, nobody moved.

Then chaos broke loose.

The closest of the fire monsters, its humanoid, burning shape intensifying in seeming rage, rushed forth, burning hands reaching out for her face. A white-hot stream of flames came from a distance, bursting free of the second monster's maw as it moved its attentions away from the girl it once menaced for a second and onto the one with potential it could destroy.

And Kaede immediately burst into action, every other thought disappearing from his mind as he ran straight for Kagami (even if his body chilled with fear as he brushed carelessly against the outstretched hand of the masked figure) and hurriedly to her side.

"We don't have time for this!" he cried in a mix of fear and frustration, grabbing at her arms and trying to pull her up. "You need to get away!"

His eyes glanced around wildly for the final monster, but the masked student was already walking away, moving further into the distance. Away from them. Heading in the same direction as the monsters that had carried away Alex.

Conflict fell over his face. He couldn't decide whether to chase after that creature or stay with Kagami. To try and get her further away from the monsters or to pursue the monster that now wore the body of a student.

The latter won.

"Damnit," he could only mutter only his breath. "Come on get up, we need to-"

The creature of flames closest to them had launched its attack on Kimiko from a distance in a single moment, but now its attentions were once more turned upon Kagami - and now Kaede.

He didn't need to think.

He threw himself in front of the nervous wreck of a girl, and the flames slammed right into his body.

Kaede Yamamoto bellowed in pain.

But he wouldn't budge. His arms were held in front of him. They were peeling away as the heat grew. Golden light boiling his skin. Impossible pain as nerves melted. It hurt. He wanted to run.

But he wouldn't. Not when Kagami was behind him. Even if hurt.

of course it hurts, you're not invincible, you're not a superhero

葛 馮虚 (コペンハーゲン・スター)

Like a Maglev train pulling out of the station, Hoshi was able to follow up her vow, speeding through her shopping with great rapidity and allowing the line to move forward without any major detriment to those behind her. Indeed, Hyoukyo found that the pace at which her underclasswoman moved was far greater than the average one would expect from a convenience store customer, and as a result, was able to make her own purchases soon after the young Nakajima left.

She stepped lightly out of the convenience store, the automatic doors closing shut behind her with a farewell beep. The cool air of the evening hit her immediately, a sudden source of discomfort that caused her to pull her jacket in closer to contain her body heat, but as a result, also squeeze her fairy companion tighter against her body with an inaudible "hurk".

Boss, watch the - blurgle - merchandise! This is too warm for me!

I'll endeavour to reduce your warmth in the future.

Held in one hand was a plastic bag containing her purchases, but she would only open it up when she returned home. There was no need to be impatient simply because Kanaria was hungry. Katsura Hyoukyo, class representative of Class 3-G, purposefully began to make her way down the concrete sidewalk, heading in the direction of her family's house.

However, a vibration from her phone stopped her.

Ooh, it's one of your alert thingies!

The violet-haired teenager removed her smartphone from her pocket, immediately opening it up to find the source of the alert: a list of known Negari sightings that she had missed since she last checked. There was one that was interestingly close, lying within Yamashita merely a street away. Yet the warning had been given a decent time ago; it was likely that magical girls had already engaged and defeated it. There was no need for her to follow up on it.

Let's just go home and eat!

However, Hyoukyo was a curious sort.

She changed direction, and began to walk in direction they had specified.
Poor poor Jericho, objectified at every turn.

Is anyone in contact w Write? Is the restoration of team JBLS truly a pipe dream?

we try, but alas
grat soon
So... my computer is reaching the end of its life span and, while it seems fine for the moment, I have no idea how long it'll stay fine. As such, I feel as though I have to leave this RP behind... if only since this thing finally kicking the bucket will stop me from being able to partake any further anyway. I aim to come back to the forum itself immediately after getting myself a new computer (which might not be until some time away; I'm hoping for a quick delivery but it's unlikely I'll get such service) and once I do, I'll be sure to drop by and see how far along this has gone without me. But I doubt I'll be able to make any further posts, as unfortunate as the case is :/

That's understable. It's a shame to see you go, but circumstances like that do put a crick in things.

TZI TI'AMTUM

"Don't think the Cap'll mind too much," answered the tall young man with a shrug. "But yeah, that was a was a real freaky adventure we went on."

Gradon was already waking up, which was a solid thing to know; even though he wasn't pretty tight with the other guy, it was always good to know that they had made it through a rest day without anybody getting stuck in a hospital bed. He remembered how bad those out-of-ring fights could get back before he joined up with Cadenza; boy, they were pretty fun, but the cleanup could get a bit messy. This time around, it looked like only a few folks had gotten hurt. Leblanc's methods were really effective against stuff similar to bar brawls, weren't they?

Any further thoughts Tzi might've had were interrupted by the arrival of the Captain. And the fact that the Viola girl they'd helped out was their boss' little sister. That explained the physical similarities, actually. The uniforms were really similar too.

"Sisters, huh?" he mused out loud. "Explains that sorta knightly elegance thing you both got going on. But man, I have to put the shirt on?"

His last words were accompanied by a grumble, but it was clear that despite his distaste for doing so, he was still going to comply with the recommendation. The talk of a review, and the sound of those bells - when coupled together, that obviously meant that there was a bigwig coming, and the bigwigs were in charge of letting him fight stuff, so it was best not to disrespect them too much.

"I'll be back in a jiffy," Tzi said casually, heading off to grab his shirt.

Of course, by the time he returned, his prominent chest now covered by a simple white shirt (although he was still donning his familiar mantle), the princess was standing there. Which he didn't expect at all. The pieces fell in place - this was the surprise the captain was talking about. Royalty coming along on that review?

Consider me surprised, Cap!

Despite his late arrival, he immediately stood at attention, shuffling over behind his fellow cadets.

Biggest of bigwigs was here, after all.
At airport now, actually have half a post on my laptop saved that I'll see if I can finish once I check in and all that.

@Leotamer They're all surprisingly exhibitionist.
Known Taidan feats: burning down an entire forest to kill a giant Grimm.
@Raineh Daze That'd work, yeah.

Once Hyoukyo has the chance to get outta the convenience store (when @HereComesTheSnow replies), I'll send her over to help out against that Negari.
