One of my favourite things to do on this site is just refreshing the page and getting a new ad. Sometimes it's an NFT thing.

I've been keeping this avatar because I forgot who the artist was, but now I can just search for shark vtuber fanart and find him. Suggest a replacement avatar.

Could we get more details on how the elements work? I'm kind of undecided as to which one to go for ^;^

The elements are very basic manipulation. Shape them, shoot them, channel them through weapons, all that.

In the upgraded forms or M=D, they become more advanced and even versatile, spreading into advanced stuff like blue fire, ice and all.

The idea is to keep the base form abilities simple and the upgraded form abilities 'advanced'.

Fire becomes stronger, hence becoming blue fire.
Water, when enhanced, upgrades into stronger water manipulation and spreads into ice manipulation.
Earth, when enhanced, can control stuff as hard as steel, diamond and even control earthly things like gravity.
Wind, when enhanced, controls other aspects like lightning.

Other abilities exist outside these, even if they're not 'main girls', like poison, heart, and even some less conventional abilities.

I mean do the elements work like in the Avatar series, or are they more esoteric (the representations of the elements such as wind and the connection with mind or fire and its ability to cleanse corruption), or both, or neither??

It's more like the former. Stuff like mind/heart abilities are seperate abilities altogether and exist outside the main four.

EDIT: Edited the app to include an 'enhanced form abilities' section.
Curious roleplay, and it's open too. Should I go with a male character like Coldsteel or a female character like Sanzakura (to parallel Blizzard)?
Ill try to find a suitable protagonist image.

Personality wise, Ill make him a bit brash, rough around the edges but sweet. Delinquent with a heart of gold type.

I on the other hand have to find my own pictures, do a bit of editing to boot.
In this world, there are girls who have gained the ability to transform into MAGILOCKs by forming contracts with ARMARUNEs, beings presented as sentient weapons. MAGILOCKs can be described as 'magical girls'. Among MAGILOCKs and ARMARUNEs, there is word of the DRAGOKEY, a human who is born with the ability to fuse with a MAGILOCK. This is but a legend, however.

Our male lead, is in reality, a DRAGOKEY. One day, he stumbles into the timespace barrier of the MAGILOCK Crimson Cleveland.

Terminology

MAGILOCK - the 'magical girls' of this world. They utilize ARMARUNEs as weapons in combat. In addition to core abilities and weapon wielding, all MAGILOCK possess levitation, enhanced physical feats and the ability to project a time-space barrier to fight SEVENSINs in. MAGILOCKs lose the ability to age after gaining their contract, but if the contract is broken through some means, they just

ARMARUNE - because we're a mature magical gorl roleplay for mature people, we're using talking swords and shields instead of cute animal mascots. On a serious note, little is known about the ARMARUNE. Whether they're sentient weapons, spirits controlling sentient weapons, or such, is unknown. It's unknown if they even have gender, but they do act and sound feminine and masculine, much like humans. They form contract with girls to allow them to become MAGILOCK.

SEVENSIN - SEVENSINs are dark creatures that instill the idea of sin in humanity, and if they grow in numbers, the MAGILOCK have to deal with them. They have bounded fields lead by SUPERSINs, their leader.

SUPERSIN - a type of 'alpha' of the SEVENSINs.

DRAGOKEY - A human born with a unique ability to merge with MAGILOCK to become a MAGILOCK=DRAGOKEY, which is basically a physically older-looking, stronger version of the MAGILOCK in question.

Guidelines/Notes

MAGILOCK have more of a resemblance to traditional magical girls, like the ones you see in kiddy shows. MAGILOCK=DRAGOKEY wear more 'exotic' or 'less traditional' outfits, and look like older versions of their MAGILOCK counterparts. M=Ds will also be stronger (e.g. gains blue fire from regular fire, ice from water, gravity from earth, lightning from wind, etc...) Addition, M=Ds will have upgraded versions of a MAGILOCK's weapon (e.g. sword -> dual wields, gun -> bigger gun)

I want the first four girls to be colour-coded with Fire (red), Water (blue), Earth (gold, yellow or brown), Wind/Air (Green). This will be the core harem. Anything after, be it poison or nature or whatever - well, go ham with them.

For our main four, it's best if we don't have crisscrossing weapon types. No two sword users even if they're different swords, for instance. I'm fine with say our resident main four sharing weapon types with anyone outside it.

There is a chance for your clothing to dematerialize and disappear, but that's only if your ARMARUNE is too fresh or new to the job for their own good or a smug little bastard. Experienced or actual smart ARMARUNE know how to put your clothes in a pocket dimension and put it back on you after your transformation's done.

Name:
Gender:
Age: Well? 13 to 18 for DRAGOKEY or MAGILOCK. Assume physical or when aging stopped if MAGILOCK, MAGILOCK true age will stay unknown or revealed in story.
Role: DRAGOKEY or MAGILOCK? Or even CIVILIAN?
Contracted to: Which ARMARUNE if you're a MAGILOCK. Describe your ARMARUNE, and its capabilities as a weapon, as well as what type of weapon it is. You'll be playing 'em! Also describe what their upgraded version will look like as a M=D's ARMARUNE.
Abilities: If MAGILOCK only.
MAGILOCK=DRAGOKEY Abilities: Additional abilities when being upgraded.
History: Well?
Personality: Well?

MAGILOCK form:

MAGILOCK=DRAGOKEY form:

Roles:
DRAGOKEY (@ShwiggityShwah)
MAGILOCK - Fire (@Crow)
MAGILOCK - Water (@Ponn)
MAGILOCK - Earth (@blackdragon)
MAGILOCK - Wind (@malmshodes)

NOTE: You can still claim other types of abilities for your MAGILOCK character. Up there is just the more 'central' cast, perhaps stuff like technology, poison and even heart. Below are these additional ones. While the above ones are one-per-person, you are allowed to make as many characters for literally every other role (non-main MAGILOCK and CIVILIANs)

MAGILOCK - Poison (@The Irish Tree)
MAGILOCK - Light (@Alliance Oda So)
I could join in this if you like.

Male lead if available, but I could be another magical girl or one of the talking animal companions willing to explain how it all works.

I can present alot of lore suggestions if you require.

Shall I reserve the male lead for you in advanced? I'm like, a click away from making the OoC.
I had the idea of an animalistic/non-human character who becomes human after leaving her world, a parallel to how Sora & Friends do it in various worlds to adapt (Monsters Inc., The Little Mermaid, Toy Story etc.)
What am I doing, you might ask? I have absolutely no idea!

So basically, here's the plan.

In this world, there are magical girls, or as we call them... yeah I need to think of a cool name let's just call them magical girls for now. To hide from the world while they fight ambiguous monsters, they project timespace manipulating barriers that allow people to pass through as if nothing happened.

Our male lead is a regular dude guy who somehow managed to enter one of these barriers (specifically one made by my character) and is shocked to see the sights. Also he accidentally kisses my character and that was when he discovered his other weirdass ability - he can fuse with magical girls to make them bigger stronger magical girls.

Now, you might ask about elements beyond what I've presented, elements beyond the excuse to make this a harem, elements beyond being a magical girl gig.

Where do the obligatory monsters of the week come from? How do magical girls become magical girls? Is there some kind of hierarchy or society for magical girls?

Good question.

So, basically, the roles present will be:

Male lead
Female lead (yours truly)
Various other magical girls
Obligatory mascot/s
What the heck happened here? Or there? Or anywhere?
Loosely, huh? So, do we make worlds for this or are the worlds used here based on existing worlds in involved franchises?
