I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I could put here but I'm blanking.

Oh yeah I didn't post mine here. Let me know if there are any issues.

WIP but mainly just because I don't have a portrait yet.

I might have missed it in the lore writeup but are there any established religions? I was thinking of a character who grew up in a monastery of some kind before coming out to Glynwood (recommended by a magic user in the clergy, perhaps) and having some culture shock moving into a place with their own room and more freedom than they're used to.

Though the concept could really come from a different but similarly humble background if there aren't any. Just an inkling of a character idea so far.
Tentative interest
Alyona

@Spin The Wheel

Aly stumbled out of the alleyway. Each step was an effort, but she was at least able to move. She took her time to round the next corner, one of many she'd need to take on the way home. She felt the stares of others. Maybe they were concerned, maybe they were pitying her. She was hoping to give off enough of an aura to discourage anyone trying to help her.

Of course, someone piped up. Alyona clenched her hand. The last thing she needed was some other delusional kid to get the wrong idea. She had half a mind to slash at the source of the voice with a lance - maybe she'd catch him by surprise and absorb enough energy to be able to run before he recovered. Her lances didn't leave any permanent scars. It'd be a hard sell to convince the police that any real damage was done.

However, as she turned to see the boy face-to-face, her glare of disdain turned briefly to confusion as she looked over Jeremy - then she burst into laughter when she reached the hat on his head. "[What the hell?]" she exclaimed in Yekaterinan, then quickly switched back to Rhean. "Oh gods, I'm being asked if I need help! By someone in a wizard hat!" As she laughed, her face twitched with pain and tears formed in her eyes. "I can't... It hurts to laugh... I'm definitely in Hell..." She gasped, clutching her side and steadying herself on the nearby wall. Crumpling to the floor, it almost seemed like her laughter was equally dispersed among sobbing.

Overall, she gave off the impression that she was not okay.

Alex

@KillamriX88

Alex was no good at hiding her feelings, so she was certain Wolf could tell when she flinched at the mention of Vera. She didn't even notice it herself until she had already done it, and she couldn't meet Wolf's eyes. 'Ah. I couldn't keep it together. I should probably be honest...' She thought to herself, immediately overcome with self-awareness.

"W-We talked... Um. Sort of." Alex started fumbling with her words, thinking of how to bring up what happened without making it sound bad - or rather, without making it sound like what actually happened. "T-There was a l-lot to discuss, and we... Uh... I was..."

Alex couldn't put together the right words. 'What am I going to say?! "I ran into her in an illegal fighting ring that I was visiting because I thought my powers would get a bunch of people cheering for me?" Or maybe "We talked but mainly punched each other?" What was I thinking, trying to be honest?!?!' She tried to take a deep breath, clenching at the hem of her uniform.

"M-Maybe we didn't talk, actually..." It was sort of the truth. After all, it was Andras at the Midnight Tournament, not the meek student Alexandria. Totally different people. "I-I just saw her somewhere...?" Alex wasn't sure if the wrenching nervousness she felt in her gut was because she was lying to her friend, or because she was scared of telling the truth. "I-Is she... Well? Er. I mean, you're still talking to her, right?" Alex weakly tried to divert the conversation.
Io at Kazenosuke's house

@AzureKnight @Nakushita @PaulHaynek

Io's theory proved correct. While he was indeed skilled, Kazenosuke likely had little experience against mages. Unfortunately for him, fighting against mages required just as much knowledge as it did physical skill.

Gaining an advantage over their enemy was the perfect time to shore up possibilities. There was no room to be arrogant - it was likely that Kazenosuke had his own plan. After all, why would he continue to fight if the situation was so tilted against him? He must be working towards a contingency, Io was certain.

"Do you plan to sew those wounds together yourself?" Io said, while scanning the area around. There could be a path, or some kind of exit Kazenosuke could try for. "Surrender and I can-" Io was cut off by Yuki's sudden charge.

And of course, before Io could react, Shizuka said something that completely diverted her brainpower. 'Why did he use that phrasing, of all possible things?' She felt her thought processes accelerate, and in relation, time itself seemed to slow. 'Was it an error? The product of a strange vocabulary? Or is he attempting to distract Yuki with such a strange word? He understands her and her kind enough to make that snap decision? Is he secretly a prodigy in both the sword and in wit?! ...Is his tongue that skilled in-'

Io forcibly diverted her train of thought - she only had moments to prepare for this change in the fight. It was too late for her to halt Yuki, but perhaps Io could put something between the two that could solve multiple problems at once. She quickly mouthed an incantation - even speaking it would take too long - for a cage of magical energy to surround Kazenosuke. It was shoddy spellcraft, and wouldn't last for long, but it was the best Io could form in the moments before Yuki's strike landed. Ideally, it would stop Yuki while still imprisoning Kazenosuke - but Io knew that the situation was far from ideal. She could only hope.
Should I go? I was honestly just waiting cuz I didn't wanna cut out Yuki.
Io at Kazenosuke's House

@PaulHaynek @Nakushita @AzureKnight

Io watched as the first exchange of blows traded between the fighters. Io wondered if there were some environmental factors that lead to the exceptional capability of humans on Shizuyama - not just Shizuka, but also Kazenosuke. Perhaps her impression of humans were colored by mainly interacting with recluses who had dedicated their lives to the pursuits of the mind rather than that of the physical. That, or the island was situated on some convergence point of profound natural (or magical) forces that imparted strength into the people. The theory was absurd, but anything was possible.

The theory could wait. While the slashes Kazenosuke dealt out didn't look like they'd end the fight, Io wouldn't let her teammates be worn down. She quickly mouthed an incantation of minor healing, seeking to heal back what the first wave of attacks had done. "Be ready. I have an idea." Io said to her fellow task force members as the healing magic washed over them.

Yuki proved with her surprise attack that while he was fast, their opponent wasn't untouchable. If Io could slow him down, the others could seize the advantage. His swords could easily deflect anything aimed at him... But what if the attack was meant for the swords? Io's grimoire glowed as she prepared another spell. 'How well can he handle the swords if they're frozen over?' Spinning was a delicate procedure, after all. Io leveled a pointed finger at Kazenosuke, casting a thin ray of freezing magic at him. The attack would obviously be dangerous to him if it passed his swords, but Io made no attempt to have it evade them. Instead, she planned for it to collide with a blade, freezing it over and making it unbalanced and awkward to handle. With any luck, it would provide an opening for her teammates.

Of fucking course you would.
