"If there are," piped in Alastrina. "It would be something worth considering. I'm willing to help with the endeavor. Wimsey can help find and round up mares given, what he is. Then we'll just need rope, to be watchful while we're out there, and to make sure the area for the horses is all set up beforehand. If there aren't horses though, perhaps there would be other mounts we could use...? Or we could set up waystations for us to send pigeon messages?"
George Strand is a thirty-three year old trainee doctor in his last year of residency. He serves in the local clinic under the aging Dr. Jason Reinhold, his mentor who is only a year or two away from retirement. George was born and raised on the island, but had always hoped to go someplace else, be someone important. Instead, he's found how much even a local country doctor can be important to those he serves. He still sometimes fantasizes of serving in some first world country where he'd save thousands. Personality wise, he tends to be strict and assertive. He will not let others boss him around and he will make sure his patients take their medication and follow his orders, even if he has to scare the living daylights out of them to do so. Yet, he also will listen to those that need to talk, comforting those that need it and seeking to give advice that would truly help. He never wants to fail anyone under his care, nor wants to see them suffer unnecessarily. When not on duty, he tends to keep to himself and read in one of his favorite haunts. Sometimes, he reads pure fantasy and adventure. Other times, he's going over travel guides and various sources of life and cultures around the world.

George was among those born and raised on the island, exploring every inch he could when he was young. But as he grew older, the island seemed less magical and more, ordinary. So he dreamed of recapturing that magic by traveling all around the world. He saved every cent he ever got, took on what odd jobs and part-time work he could, all to see the world. But then he started learning about the suffering that happened, the various peoples that suffered from disease and other ailments with no one to help them. Wasn't his dream a little selfish then? Did one kid from Starlight Cove and his dreams matter in the grand scheme of things?
After much reflection, he decided to become a general doctor. That way, he could travel but also save lives and make a true impact on the world. The money he saved ended up helping to pay for his medical degree, with his parents helping as they could. Unbeknownst to George though, Dr. Jason Reinhold, the local doctor for over thirty years, also helped in paying his tuition, wanting to encourage George in pursing his goal. And through hard work and persistence, George made it through the eight years of schooling with a high average all throughout and passed through the first stage of exams. However, he now needed to serve a five-year residency under another general doctor for five years. While his grades were high, they weren't outstanding. Nor did he have any personal connections to the rest of the medical field. And so his classmates that were either stand out students or had connections went on to snap up the available residencies. George desperately sought for anyone that would take him. But in the end, only one person would: Dr. Jason Reinhold himself.
George at first rejected it, seeking for anyone else. But it was truly his only option. So he took it, telling himself he'd only stay the five years needed then leave. Yet, as the years went by, George couldn't help but find himself caring more now for the old ladies and elder men that had watched him grow then he'd ever expected to before. Some many stories they were willing to share if one simply took the time to listen, some many pains and troubles he'd had no idea before. Yet there was also such tenacity and strength of will in them all. It made it all the sadder whenever one of them ended up being taken out of their homes to be sent to a care center on the mainland to eventually pass away, far from the gentle breezes of home. He tried to see if there might be a way to at least set up some sort of care center on the island itself, but Starlight Cove was itself seen as being in its twilight years, consigned to quietly drift away. Few seriously considered setting up such a place there. The one who did, business tycoon Cassias Potter, planned to wait until after the town was dead then buy the land for cheap and bulldoze everything that the town had built so he could make the island into 'a true untouched paradise'.
Needless to say, George was quite enraged by this answer. But there was little he could do as a resident doctor. Only take care of his patients and use the clinic's limited resources to help as many to continue living in their own homes for as long as possible. Perhaps find some way to spring new life into the community so that there would be no chance for Potter to remake everything into his own image, but that would take a miracle. Complicating matters is the fact that Dr. Reinhold is older himself, and nearing the point where he'll need to retire. However, if Reinhold retires and there's no one to take over the clinic, there's a good chance that the clinic will shut down and the nearest other one will be a boat's trip away, requiring more people leave if they want to receive the medical care they need and practically dooming the island immediately. However, if Reinhold makes it through till George finishes his residency and passes his final certification exams, then George would be able to take over the clinic and Reinhold could retire in peace. The real question remains if time is on their side. George has been taking over more and more of the daily operations of the clinic, but Reinhold's has been deteriorating slowly day by day. It is now George's final year of residency, and Reinhold has started suffering severely from dementia, all timers, and arthritis. He still has good days occasionally, but they've gotten fewer and fewer.
George is basically the town doctor now in all but name as he starts his final year of residency. If the two of them could make it till the winter time, then everything will be alright on their side at least. He just has to do what he can then continue pushing on.
The communicator chirped as Raziel typed out her current report. She only spared a glance to see what it said before making sure to switch it back to watch mode.
"What's that, Razzy?" Her boss leaned over, peering over her shoulder while his breath rustled her hair. "Is there some important meeting I forgot? Or has the time really flown with our dictations?"
"It's not for something on your calendar, Mr. Hopkins." She pulled herself closer to the desk and started packing everything away. "If you will recall, I reported that I had found a lead on a new start-up that could potentially aid in speeding up production of military drones." She then stood up and turned around, standing perfectly straight with her computer satchel over her shoulder. "It was only last night though that we finally arranged a time to meet, and that time happens to be now. My apologies for not telling you sooner. It simply, slipped my mind."
Hopkins leaned back with a smirk. "I suppose even you can only be human once in a while. Though of course, I do believe some compensation would be appreciated. Do I have any Friday dinner meetings scheduled?"
She mentally went through it, but what she feared revealed itself. "None currently, sir."
"Then schedule us for such a meeting. 6 pm. Wear your best dress and I'll take you out somewhere nice."
"Very well, Mr. Hopkins. I'll return later with a report on if the start-up is worth your time or not."
"Do that." He dismissed her with a wave of his hand before turning back to his computer.
Raziel then started out the door, white-knuckling her satchel the whole way from the office until she was finally outside. Only then could she start to relax. If she was to continue working under Mr. Hopkins, she could certainly use a better cover story for any Power Ranger activities such as their meetings. Perhaps the Blue Ranger had had something in mind before...She shook her head. Best not dwell on that. The only person she could rely on for help was herself, and so she would need to come up with a better plan.
She soon separated from the crowds of the street and stepped into the wilderness, allowing the unbusy simpleness of nature to clear her mind while she walked along the hidden trails to the Outlook and made sure to gently teleketically cover up any potential footprints. All the while, she mentally debated the facts of the matter to herself.
Fact 1: It was important to keep an eye on the Department of Defense. If the Empire attempted to infiltrate the nation's military again, it would be best if there was someone who could stall such snowfalls before they became avalanches. Also, if the nation or other nations were to attempt to backstab the Power Rangers or were to find out anything about where the previous Rangers were, it would be best to have someone in a position to see the warning signs ahead of time. Both were things that of the current Rangers, she was best in a position to do. And so, to abandon her position would potentially lead to a failure to protect Earth, leading to its conquest. Counterpoint: She was in a position that her former superiors knew about, meaning that she was also vulnerable to being taken down through that or to just be worked around. However, there was little that she could do to mitigate that factor unless she wanted to create a whole new human persona and too many benefits to let the risks outweigh them. Meaning she needed to stay where she was if possible.
Fact 2: There was nowhere else she could be in the Defense Department and still have access to the data she had. A secretary of a contractor had access to info that most wouldn't have unless they were a full time high ranking military personal or a military contractor themselves. She couldn't lose her job then and expect to be able to somehow recuperate her data in other ways. However, since she was hired by Mr. Hopkins and it was no real secret that she was hired mostly for the look of her disguise, no decent more suitable contractor would be willing to hire her and those contractors that would were likely to be no better or even worse. Therefore, staying Hopkins's secretary was her best option. No matter what that entailed.
Fact 3: If she did not come up with a more solid explanation she could somehow schedule in yet also make reasonable to create unexpected emergencies, he would make that an excuse for more date 'invites'. But what would serve that purpose that would be reasonable for her to engage in without making Mr. Hopkins a part of it?
It was at this point that she came to a ridge overlooking the valley, the sun gleaming down upon the bustling grey city and the gleaming green pine trees alike. She took another breath in the fresh air, enjoying the moment. It was for this that she worked to protect and save. In this, she couldn't fail. Squaring herself up then, she turned away then headed on up to the Outlook.
Human Appearance Mid-Back Length Black Hair with light blue eyes with pale skin. She commonly wears a business casual dark blue jacket over a white shirt with black trousers and black flat shoes. She stands around 5' 7" in height and in form is overall average. The communicator is on her right wrist. All her clothes are worn neatly and professionally.
Real Appearance The black hair and overall face and body shape and height remains the same. Her skin though is dark blue and her eyes are pure red without pupils.

Personality On the outside, she seems fully cold, calculating, and ruthless, appearing the pinnacle of what a Sci'Etsio is supposed to be. On the inside though, she finds herself caring too much for her own good. She cares about the Earth, the natural beauty of it's nature. She's curious about the fantasy and fiction that the people create. She finds herself wondering about the random people she sees across the street; what their lives are like, their hopes, their dreams. She doesn't know how to express any of that though, besides fighting to protect them as best she can and to sometimes do minor acts to help. When not in a professional setting though, she feels way out of depth so she keeps up the cold, calculating exterior to make things simpler.
Skills Martial Arts: She was trained to fight if the need should arise. She's best with one-handed pistol-type guns, but she also knows her way around a sword. She was also trained in her race's form of bare-handed martial arts, a krav-magna/karate-esque one that uses minimal telekinesis to try to get the opponent off-balance and take them down quickly. She's not very physically strong though so she prefers to stay out of direct combat whenever possible.
Hacking/Tech Support: She knows how to get into networks and extract what she needs while getting around firewalls and other systems meant to keep her out. She also knows how to run and repair most tech.
Powers Species Typical Powers: Sci'Etsions are a psychic race. Near all have telepathy and telekinesis though to varying strengths and some have rarer powers (of which Raziel has none). Their powers require strict control and tend to become erratic if they become too emotional. They also cost energy to use over time.
Telepathy: Able to sense minds, mentally communicate with them, and even dive into them if she chooses to. However, she also ends up feeling the person's emotional state at that point as well and can be kicked out if resisted.
Telekinesis: Able to move things with her mind. Isn't the most powerful of her species, but she's well trained. Can only move up to a car-sized object and if doing so, she has to focus fully on it. However, she can pick up smaller things at once, able to pick up more things the smaller they individually are. For instance, she could cause a rain of near endless pebbles but would only be able to cause a building to slow down it's fall. She also is best with moving solids like rocks. Liquids can be somewhat manipulated but it takes her full concentration. Then gas and plasmas like fire have their atoms too scattered for her to be able to control.
Background The Sci'Etsoions have always been a proud people, certain of their superiority over other races due to their powers, their technology, and the fact they managed all this while surviving the harsh cold of their home ice world of Etsio. It truly vexes them to now be subjugated to Emperor Qyi Nos. But the Velcron army had the numbers to overwhelm any Sci'Etsoion advantage, and then their children would kidnapped and made hostage until their parents submitted with a child killed per day that they retained their defiance. It did not take long at all then for the surrender to be finalized.
Afterwards, Sci'Etsoions were chosen for many specialist roles within the Empire, whether as spies and assassins or bureaucrats and tech operators or torturers and executioners or any place else the Emperor saw fit to use their skills and powers. And to keep them in line, 25 % of children are randomly taken as hostages and stored in places that no one but him and the ones he entrusts with their charge knows. Only as teens are they ever seen again with their memories wiped of where they were, then a new child was taken in their place. Only as long as the race stays true to the Empire are the children allowed to live. Not many outside of the race and the Emperor know about the state of things though, for the race is still too proud, too scarred by it to tell outsiders about it willingly. So to everyone else, the Sci'Etsoions are a cold race, rigidly loyal in their service to the Empire.
Many of the people have resigned themselves to the state of things, but in others, a cold fire has been kindled to take down the Emperor and regain their former glory, but unless they find out where the children are taken, they are at a standstill. For nothing is more sacred to a Sci'Etsoion as the life of a child.
Raziel was one of those hostages, taken while so young that she doesn't even recall who her family was except in glimpses. She's tried to go back into her mind to find any trace of the memories, but cannot recall them. After she was returned, she tried to find them, but didn't have any true lead to go off on. She enrolled in the program set up to help hostages re-integrate into society, but had little success. It was then that she was recruited to train as a secret agent, someone that would serve the Empire in that role while also looking into where the children were being kept. And she agreed.
She trained, then was recruited into Imperial Service as a secret agent and was trained there. The infiltration of Earth was her first field assignment. She was meant to infiltrate the US government then work her way there into finding out information about global defenses and the Power Rangers in particular. She became a Defense Department secretary, stationed near Gray Vale with a defense contractor that she knew hired her purely for how he thought she looked. She was prepared to do what she must.
Then one day, a stranger came by and asked if she was alright. A random stranger, who had no reason to ask, had no true benefit for asking, was concerned for her well-being. She didn't respond and just walked on, but the conversation kept in her mind. She walked around to clear her head, and noticed for the first time just how beautiful Earth really was, the green of the fir trees and the snowy mountains overhead. How full of life the people were, both good and bad. She ended up curious about life around and began to research, stating in reports that she was learning how to blend better within Earth. But the more she learned, the more she fell in love with the place, and the more she didn't want to see the Empire tarnish it.
She found a means of communicating with a Ranger and discretely sent a packet through it warning of the incoming invasion and giving what info she could. At least, she thought she was discrete. But then the Blue Ranger came to talk with her and heard her story. The Ranger then gave her the communicator and offered a place among the Rangers, which Raziel accepted.
She'd looked forward with curiosity and trepidation to how it all would turn out, but then the Rangers disappeared. She now finds herself the new Blue Ranger, among others that have taken up the Ranger's colors, while the invasion is still imminent. She can only hope that she will prove herself worthy for the mantle and that she can help find where the other rangers have gone.
