Also started replaying Dishonored for the first time since 2012-3. Still love the world and atheistic. Stealth route is not as satisfying but more fulfilling.

I started playing through XCOM 2 for the first time since Feb. There's a lot of BS still going on, but it's addictive as ever.

@DancingEagle
I can see that there will be a lot of fun!
Maybe there will be some puns?
However I fear
What may be
If someone brings up the word 'Orange'...

...Dangit!

If you want to, make some puns
I'd advise not making even one
Because the minute you begin
It all crawls under your skin
And you start making a ton of them.

A skele-ton.

...See?
@Cynder

There's ancient legends, and combat, and music galore!
Maybe epic battles and a big-scale war?
It's a premise one cannot ignore
So thank you for joining, I guarantee it won't be a bore!
@Guardian Angel Haruki@Primal Conundrum

It's great that you are intrigued
But let us not get fatigued!
If we keep going on this trail
Then this idea might prevail!

Oh, and uh-- everyone else:

If you don't think it's baloney
And/or want to win a Tony
Come be a part of something really corny!
Come on, it will be funny
I'm not asking you for money
Otherwise this idea might just die!
EDIT: IT'S UP!

An affectionate parody of fantasy RPGs... with musical numbers! (okay kinda)

Plot

Legend tells of an ancient dragon who was awakened from his slumber by a mysterious assailant to wreck havoc and strike fear into people's hearts. However, an almighty group of hero fight the dragon and the assailant, slay them without trouble, and are fondly revered as heroes, yet they vanished from the world shortly after.
Hundreds of years later, an ominous cult is secretly attempting to bring back the dragon, conquer the world, and become its ruler.

Meanwhile, a group of newbie adventurers are sitting in a tavern. When they realize their guild leader is missing, they go on a magical quest to save him, and, eventually, the world.

Play

RPG: The Musical is an affectionate parody of fantasy RPGs: its tropes, characters, plots and rules, alongside catchy musical numbers. Worry not, you don't need to sing anything. Anyone is able start a song at any time - all they have to do is post its lyrics, and others can join to it too if the singer(s) wills it.

So if you like musicals, subversion of cliches, playing cliches straight, nonsense, casual fourth wall breaking, a relaxed setting that makes fun of itself and everyone around it, why not give it a shot?
Like pretty much everyone, I too have some work to go through IRL. I have begun to plan my post in Microsoft Word, but I really can't find a good subject to write about.
@DancingEagle So is this RP dead?

Pretty much. Work is piling on me and I lost motivation to continue. The RP just doesn't transition well to Play By Post with you guys waiting and me having to keep track of it and rolls and... *sighs* It's just a lot manageable, and less boring, when you play with a "real" group, that is.

Perhaps when the time comes, I'll open a new Roleplay working under the same ideas but has new rules that fit PBPRP.

This is the way to go. Your nation will do things, your rulers will decide on matters. Whether you tell us via the eyes of a peasant, dung-merchant or princeling is up to you.

As far as I am concerned you can get started on your IC posts. I'm going to finalise the map tomorrow (taking Captain's request in consideration). Cold will likely be bumped north or west.

Okay, good to know I can write from whatever perspective I like and I don't have to be the leader constantly. A question though. How do you change stuff in your nation? Do you just announce the change you want to do (e.g. building more ships, improving weaponry, etc) and then you'll give me a time estimate of how long that'll take or... Excuse me, I'm new to Nation RPs.

I'm going to wait for the first post to start things off, and then I'll start writing about The Great Nation of Oxfrieght. Always nice to get some inspiration.

Oxfrieght begins to arm its battleships.
I'll admit that, with the Map half-empty, a few people are going to have trouble reaching out to other Nations. However, I already have a few decent plot-arc ideas that I can get booted up right from the start involving a few others, so hopefully that won't be too much of an impediment.

Well, if unclaimed land exists, someone's planning to take it. Everyone, unless a specific GM rule would say otherwise, will want to expand their borders, because everyone wants more land to work and build on and exploit for resources, which will lead to conflict. It'll also be a bureaucratic nightmare for Sini, the GM, to decide what's on the land that nation took, and how much they can expand in one go.

How it works is that they have to fly the Ryukyuan flag under their own flag and will have to carry seals of approval on board. The pirates and bandits are will informed.

As for a war between Ryukyu and Oxfreight, its probably in the best interest for everyone that it doesn't happen, especially with alliances. Both Ryukyu and Oxfreight have well-trained, highly motivated and well armed troops plus lots of backup man power. The war would destroy lands of both nations and the lands between them, plus thousands of civilian causalities. It will probably end up with one side exhausting all their resources or the creation of a new super weapon (like that greek fire/napalm stuff @Sini was talking about).

Even after the war, the side who "won" will still not be in any position to be superpower like they currently have the capacity to be. Some other nation(s) will have to pick up the title of "super power" and the arms races that ensues for the greek napalm will result in a spy and information war. And that has the possibility of throwing Tannis into another war, this time with greek napalm.

So in the name of not destroying the land before we find new lands to colonize, I suggest people to join Ryukyu for tea ceremony and trade agreements :P

As I had stated before, it is beneficial for Oxfrieght, and, by extension, everyone on the island to avoid war. Conflict's exciting, sure, but I suspect it'll get real old real fast, both narrative-wise and RP-wise. I am, however, advocating for tensions and small conflicts between nations to keep the game more exciting (e.g. Israeli-Palestinian Conflict).

Assuming the low-risk, low-cost arrangement of "all trade ships to your nation must have your nation's flag" will be kept that way, I don't see any problems with anyone around here.

Besides, why drag ourselves to war? Should your trade agreement require more demands that Oxfrieght (or any other nation, for that matter) refuse to accept, it'll cause an embargo on your nation, as no one would want to trade with a nation that has many demands, when other nations have less, if any, demands for trade*.

* This argument is somewhat flawed, as we don't know each other's trade policies yet since the game hasn't even started, and we're just passing ideas.
