Helena wiped her eyes with her sleeves and sighed. “Whatever… If they don’t care… Then I don’t either…” She said as she took off back to the Slifer Dorms. “Helena…” Chosen followed close behind her. “Maybe… You could do something to take your mind off things? Look through your deck? Strategize a bit?” The elf spirit suggested to her. She nodded her head as they came to her and Haruko’s room. “I suppose so…” she said as she entered. It didn’t look like Haruko was there, more than likely she was still out with her parents. “I have the room to myself at least.” She said as she closed the door behind her.

She spent the next few minutes sitting at a desk, rummaging through her deck and figuring out how best to go about certain situations she might face. She also had to figure out a way to keep her psychic powers in check, or at least find a way to mitigate the damage she might do. Lost in thought, she snapped out of it after hearing the door open up. That must’ve been Haruko. She got up and turned to face who she thought was her roommate, only to met by a boy.

Recalling the introductions on the first day, it was Donte. “Who the heck is this guy?” Chosen said in confusion. Helena, equally as confused, spoke up. “Um… I think you have the uh… Wrong room…”
After a while, the spirit incident in the forest became just another bad memory to Helena. While she was happy that Haruko was safe and sound, she still didn’t feel good about the loss she suffered to the other possessed students. If things hadn’t turned out like they did… She didn’t even want to think about it. It did, however, open her eyes to how her deck wasn’t performing well. Against other students anyways. Once she had gotten a few card packs, Helena looked through her deck and patched up anything that might’ve been a weak link. That mostly came down to her Gearfried cards. While she liked them, she knew that they weren’t doing her deck any favors. Before making the adjustments, she thanked Gearfried for at least being there to start the duel off for the past few duels, and put him away with the other cards she took out of her deck.

Once that was done, she gave a heavy sigh. Mr. Monoma had said earlier that today was parent visitation day. Helena was dreading it, for it’ll be the proof she needs on whether or not her parents really do care about her. She made her way to the docks to wait with everyone else. “Try to be optimistic, Helena. I’m sure they’ll come see you.” Chosen spoke up, trying to comfort her. Helena just gave a slight nod and stood by the edge of the docks. She watched as the boats soon came to the docks, but as the parents of the other students got off them, her heart started to sink more and more. “Figures…” she mumbled to herself as she just sat on the edge of dock, tears welling up in her eyes.
Helena had hoped that this was all over, the spirits were an annoyance but she got through them, only to duel Haruko, or Haruko’s clone? Copy? It didn’t matter. What mattered was saving her friend from this spiritual mess that she got forcibly dragged into. Helena got into the mindset that if this was just a copy of Haruko, maybe she wouldn’t be too hurt by her psychic abilities. Helena went all in on the duel, promising to save her friend, and she won the duel. The void slowly opened back up into the forest and the copy vanished too. Was it over?

Not by a long shot. Some of the other duelists that were in the forest, for one reason or another, seemingly lost their duels and had been possessed as a result. All of this was becoming too much for Helena to bare, she held her head in pain and frustration as she gritted her teeth. “Why can’t you all just leave us alone!? We’ve done nothing to you!” She yelled out, breaking her usual quiet tone. “Helena! Calm down!” Chosen tried to comfort her but it wasn’t going to work. “I’ve had it with all this running around and dealing with you spirits! Now let go of those people or else I’ll make you!” She exclaimed as she brought out her duel disk.

It ended up becoming a tag duel, Helena was paired up with the girl she had seen before. Mina? At least that’s what she remembers anyway. The duel, in all honesty, was a mess. Neither her or Mina could do anything to break Cassandra and Sina’s defenses. One last ditch effort from Helena in summoning Faerie Master to protect her and Mina wasn’t enough as Cassandra easily got rid of him using her Reptiliannes. The duel ended in the disaster, Cassandra and Sina barely taking any life point damage. While Helena and Mina were slowly but surely taken out of the game.

Helena couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want to believe it. Was she dead? Did she fail to save Haruko? She couldn’t take it. Helena had no way to release her psychic abilities during that whole duel, and with a loud cry of pain, a small shockwave blew out from her as she collapsed to the ground. Her mind overloaded from the stress of her psychic powers, causing her to pass out. In her last moments of consciousness, all she could think of was her failure to save Haruko and the others, before drifting away.
“Helena, run!!” Was all Helena heard before the duel spirits dogpiled on top of Chosen of the Celtic Guard. While most of them were distracted, she bolted into the treeline, running as fast as she could to get away from them. What was all this? Why was this happening!? This was supposed to be some getaway academy to overcome her psychic abilities, not some horror show come to life.

Helena eventually came to a stop and leaned herself against a tree. She tried to catch her breath as she tried to think of a way out of this mess. But she couldn’t just leave Haruko as some… some… Meat suit for a bunch of spirits. “I… I have to go back to her but…” Before she could finish her thought, a strange cackling sound could be heard coming up to her. “Huh? W-who’s th… Yipe!!” She barely ducked past the scythe of what looked like a floating mask. She backed away in a hurry and on closer inspection saw the grimace of Hane-Hane. The spirit cackled to itself as it floated closer to her. Helena was in a corner now, but she had no way of defending herself… Or did she? She looked at her duel disk and glanced back at the spirit. Will dueling it even work? What other choice did she have? “Well… It’s not exactly a person… So… Impromptu practice here we go!” She said in a panicked tone.

The duel against Hane-Hane was a rather annoying one to say the least. The spirit, in anger over it’s loss at thrown itself at her but was swiftly cut down, ending the duel. The spirit didn’t leave any remains and seemingly faded away, back to wherever it came. Helena’s head was slightly throbbing from the match but nothing she wasn’t used to. “Helena?” She looked and saw that Chosen had returned to her side, most likely because he had been summoned. “Helena, we need to get out of this forest. Quickly.” He said, only for Helena to shake her head. “No… We… We have to save Haruko somehow…””Helena, I understand, but we won’t be able to take all those duel spirits by ourselves.” ”We have to try. I’m not going to leave her like that… Not after what she told me… I… I have to save her…” She said as dhe glanced back to where she ran from. “Helena… Well… Let’s get going then.” Chosen said, following her lead.

The run back through the forest was far more eventful, Helena had dodge past and even duel through several other duel spirits that had been pursuing her. Each duel though was straining her more and more, if things got any worse she might blow up in the coming encounters. Eventually she made it back to the clearing where she met with Haruko. But this time she wasn’t alone, not in the spirit sense but in the people sense. Another girl was there, and she was surrounded much in the same way Helena was a while back. “Oh no… Hey! Get away from her!” She called out.
Helena could only stare in horror at the sight of Haruko floating amongst the other spirits. “Haruko… W-what happened?” She mumbled in fear. Chosen kept his blade at the ready. “Helena, that’s not Haruko. Not anymore.” He said as the two noticed the Scapeghosts being surrounded by more of the terrifying spirits. “Uh… Chosen, save them!” “But Helena..” ”I said save them!” He gave a worried glance towards Helena before rushing towards the frightened duel spirits. He jumped into the middle of the group and stood in front of the Scapeghosts, slashing any spirits that approached.

”This… This doesn’t make sense… What… Who are you!?” Helena pointed at the possessed Haruko in a fearful manner. These spirits, all that stuff that Haruko had been doing in the forest, surely this was just a coincidence. Or was she actually responsible for this? It was like the start of a horror movie or something.
After Helena explained herself, the girl seemed to ponder a minute before looking around the room in embarrassment. "I- I'm sorry! I should've known, I should've asked, I- I'm- I'm Haruko! I- um, I'll take these down! Right away!"

Haruko climbed the bunk bed and started to take the paper dolls down. Helena heard a small bleating noise and noticed one of the Scapeghosts in the corner with a sad look on its face. “Um… W-wait! You don’t have to uh… Take them all down.” She stated, trying to cheer Haruko up. Chosen appeared by the Scapeghost and knelt down to it. “Sorry if we spooked you.” He gave an apologetic smile.

“Um… What are they for?” Helena asked, referring to the dolls. She was looking at one that was still slightly swaying.
Helena looked around cautiously as she got off the boat, so many duelists… As to be expected, but just the sight of the crowd made her want to just blend in and escape the moment she had a chance. “Hey, come on now… You won’t have to be in this crowd for long.” The voice of her partner, Chosen of the Celtic Guard, spoke up. He was standing beside her, giving her a reassuring smile. Whether others could see him wasn’t much concern to the elven spirit, as his only concern was making sure Helena didn’t have a panic attack. “Let’s just keep up with everyone, you can disappear once you have a room.” To that, Helena just gave a quiet. “Ok…”

The speech and explanation of the academy and rules took longer than Helena would’ve like. And after she got her equipment, and an “encouraging” message about needing supervision should she decide to duel, Helena made a break for her dorm room. The Slifer dorms were definitely… Rustic. The results of the being at the bottom of the ladder, not that she was complaining. “102… 102… 102.” She eventually found the door and was about to open it before remembering the radar on her PDA. She fiddled around with it for a minute before figuring out how to turn it off for herself, Chosen looking over her shoulder curiously as she did. “You know you’ll have to duel at some point…” he said before vanishing as Helena opened the door.

She was immediately stopped in her tracks at the sight. Her roommate, presumably, was humming to herself as she hung up little paper dolls around the room. Spooky goat spirits floated about, moving past and through the dolls, creating a rather mesmerizing sight to behold. Helena would’ve been freaked out if she wasn’t familiar with spirits. The girl eventually noticed her and panicked in spectacular fashion, causing her to fall from the bunk bed she was using to hang her ornaments.

“Wh-Wha-, Who! No, why! Why are you here!?” The girl demanded in a panicky tone.

“Wow… You really spooked her, ironic given the Scapeghosts…” Chosen said, appearing beside Helena.

Taken aback a little by the girl’s panic. Helena thought of an appropriate response. “I… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to scare you… I’m uh… I’m your roommate.” She said, bowing her head a little.
@Ryik I’m fine with either 1A or 1B, mainly because I’d like my character to become a psychic duelist if possible.
