I have an RP idea in mind where you play either a militarized task force designed to eliminate paranormal activity, or something akin to the Umbrella Secret Service.

I am trying to worldbuild god civs akin to the Time Lords or Xeelee, but so far I've yet to get anything concrete down. It is a tad frustrating, but I'll come up with something eventually. I hope.

@Obscene: And that is true. I might try that with a character I'm making for a fic actually. Though they'll be no-nonsense in a largely jovial kind of way.

Yeah. Static was just what popped into my head as the closest descriptor since those are less focused on the character's arc or internal struggle. Not the best wording to use admittedly.

I just want more protagonists with that same resolve, or barring that ones who aren't confused young adults looking to find their place in life analogues.

@Mao Mao@Carolus Rex I'm going to say no to your applications for now but allow you to take reserve slots for if someone drops/gets exploded.

I just don't think the playerbase, or myself, can handle two more ships

While this is completely understandable, I'll admit that I was looking forward to Thoth and Shepard interacting.

Granted, I suppose they still might get the chance depending on how things go.
How are we all doing today?

Looking into alternatives to the invasive proctoring service my university uses. I'd rather not use a company like ProctorU if I can help it, given how terribly reviewed they are, to say nothing of the executable they make you install so they can have remote access to your machine. If that fails, I'll be busy starting the withdrawal of my enrollment.

So I'm doing great lol.
Might as well include Thoth in that convo when it's finally done barricading the temple.
I'm starting to be glad that I didn't play the Time Lords again given Doctor Who's numerous means of teleporting things. And transmat is apparently something the Time Lords ascended past needing when their universe was half its size. Or so they claim.

Granted, they can also just pick people out of transmat beams without harming them, so...

But yeah. One of the forms of particle transmission, basically teleportation, and they could just nab you mid-teleport.
Avenger does not have guns, but if you go rogue, you'll find a squad of badasses teleported to your ship to explain it is a bad idea. Directly into your mind in some cases :D

Mind the indoctrination field and internal defenses then.
Seems fine to me? I'm not sure what criteria I'm supposed to be judging it on exactly.

I see.

Well, Avalon is just one small ship (compared to most of the others here), and if it somehow got infected... well, that would be very bad. Imagine the Replicators with Wave Motion Tech.

And, also, shields are great at dealing with it, at least in the SBY universe.

I'm mainly concerned if they use it for FTL. Since tachyons always move faster than light, if they somehow develop a way to convert themselves or their ships to tachyons and back after cannibalizing the Wave Motion tech, they could effectively bypass the existing hyperspace limitations in place in the Star Wars universe.

And also move faster than literally all of our ships barring a few I imagine.
Anything antimatter should, scientifically speaking, absolutely annihilate a Replicator. You cannot escape the fact that they're made of positively particles, which will annihilate upon contact with anti-particles completely to create a massive burst of energy. And sometimes new particles.

ucl.ac.uk/culture-online/case-studies…).

There will be no "damage" to recover from. Only kaboom.

It's why I so often avoid antimatter weaponry. Or note the actual science, because it's downright devastating.
Since Thoth's main gun is kinetic and not energetic, I suspect the Replicators will have a very unpleasant time trying to weather it.

Also hello. I return from debating withdrawing from the 4-year I got accepted to on account of not wanting invasive proctoring software on my machine. Especially not ProctorU.
Nyarlathotep

@Eviledd1984 @WhiteAngel25

Nyarlathotep tapped her fingers against the table rhythmically by way of response to her servant's question. To all else currently gathered it would appear as naught more than aimless drumming. A tick perhaps, nervous or otherwise, or--more likely given her known proclivities--the product of boredom as she awaited Dracula's arrival. To Imhotep, however, it would be readily apparent that the Outer God was communicating in morse. More alarming though, was what the tapping conveyed.

'No, I don't.'

For someone who had as many fingers in as many pies as Nyarlathotep did to not know the reason behind their assembly... well, it was worrying to say the least. Granted, it wasn't as if she dwelled on this too long. For the very next moment she had shifted her attention over to Suiko, a pleasant smile warming her face.

"To a point, yes. Too many monsters in one place though and that's when the problems begin."

She raked her gaze across the rest of the assembly.

"Not that we'll end up suffering from such an issue of course."
