In another time, Arachne would simply decide she had enough and pounce, devolving the negotiations into a sudden fight. Maybe she will win or at the very least retreat to fight another day. Fortunately for the two, they are not the only party in the talks.

"Near the center, you say? Wonderful! It seems we have our target, then. Time to get going, I'd say!" Jan declares as he physically interposes himself in the center of the conflict, body blocking both sides from one another as best as he was able. Not moving to defend either, but simply attempting to form a physical wedge to end the stand-off. This.. was actually not new territory for him. While Jan was not politically savvy, he was a friendly enough face that he was able to prevent arguments from escalating. That didn't mean he missed doing it, though.

What was a bit awkward was that while he disapproved of the reveal of their new ally's name, he.. didn't have anything else to refer to her by when speaking to her.

"Ms. Arachne, you said you'd be going with us, then? I notice you do not have a vehicle of your own. You're welcome to catch a ride with me on my steed. She isn't as mighty as the Warhorse I once rode, but I find it quite the charming modern vehicle. Ah, of course if you have your own method of transportation I will take no offense." He was of course referring to his electric scooter. A very non-threatening, unimpressive vehicle. Though Shielder might have been aware that Jan had some ability to allow it to go far faster than it ought to have been, since he saw it briefly in action on the way over. "Either way, we ought to conclude the conversation and make our way over. I doubt our newly revealed foes will be content to wait patiently."

Arachne was still pissed at her name being revealed but Rider has a point, the war is temporarily halted thanks to these ‘corrupted servants’, it would be a horrible idea to forcibly start one now. But she will get back at that barbarian princess for this humiliation, she swears on her pride because swearing for gods is a horrible idea.

“I suppose I’ll take your offer Rider, swinging around the city is pretty tiring.” she answers as she looks at his colorful steed. It wasn’t anything like a magnificent beast of her time but humanity had made an amusing but interesting replacement. If she survived this war, she would try learning how to ride one. She is beginning to like the old man, he might be a little naive and his intelligence can be a little higher but his transparency and earnestness is a refreshing contrast to her enmity in Saber.

He could trust Rider to be simple but Saber is a threat that had foiled her at every turn. She must have a skill based on observation, very likely a god given one.

She then spoke, "I agree with Rider. We should finish up here and make our move toward the anomalous Ghost Liners. Though one last thing..." turning to Arachne she continued, "It wouldn't do for us to charge into danger blindly. Against existences such as ourselves, that is to say, Heroic Spirits, information is key. What can you tell us about them? Any clue of their true identity? Oh, and...give us the name of your class. In honour of our alliance, temporary as it is, I will refer to you with your Class. The declaration from the overseer earlier was intended for all the Servants, and some are not yet here. This way, in the chance they have not figured out your identity, it will remain that way. Consider this an...olive branch in light of our current shared goal, so to speak."

“Caster.” the greatest weaver in history spoke in a frigid tone, she hates that Saber’s request is a good idea but she will take the olive branch. There is a clear understanding that it is only temporary and they will return to the war the moment it restarts.

“Let’s go deal with these intruders, let’s make it quick.”

Lucas Gutenberg

Rosletta Library, Lucas’ Chambers/Bedroom

Lucas had few expectations when he joined the founding of Fenix Tear, it snowballing to him becoming one of the librarians on what will be the largest library in Pengarde. He was pretty sure that the guildmaster was not planning for this to happen but alas.

If anyone asked him if 'robbing' the Sabertooth Library is a good way to spend his first two vacation he would say it is the best. Sure Sabertooth will get their pound of flesh in the future and it will be up to him to survive it but knowledge should be spread and his goddess definitely agrees.

There is absolutely no way this will backfire on him to the point that Future Lucas will punch him square in the jaw, even if he did well it was his problem to find a way to time travel with.

For now though, he needs to cook for the guild, another part of his punishment for event.

Library Reception Hall

An hour had passed since then and Lucas headed back to the library, a steaming ceramic pot on his gloved hand. He had left a larger pot for his guildmates to enjoy but there are people who don't have the energy to even get out of the library.

Namely the librarians who had to open the library, normally he would be cooking at the Library's kitchens but it wasn't an option for a while for official and practical reasons.

“I made some stew for breakfast, let’s take a break.” he called to his head librarian Amaya and Ifrit.

He looked at the countless shelves as he laid down the pot to the table.

“By the way I won’t be around for a while, I accepted an urgent bridge building job.” he announced as he laid down the library’s plates that he summoned with his glyphs. Unfortunately he would work with Gwen for this job, well as long she can control herself he won't have any problems.

Who is he kidding, of course she won't control herself. It's Gwen.

Identity

A young man who will always tell you what's on his mind without sugarcoating it, he will make it clear if someone had messed up or brought him unnecessary increase in his workload and throw them a lecture. But afterwards he would list what he thinks they did right and try to reduce the amount of trouble they would get into as much as he reasonably can. Sometimes he would find himself in the center of a trouble either during his search for a book or because he himself failed to keep his mouth shut, faults that he would rather easily admit.

Aside from allegiance to the Fenix Tear, he is also bound to his deal with his god. Not really much of a problem considering that he is a bibliophile, although he could do away with his fellow God-Slayers not dragging him to their ‘wars’. His god gave him one task, he doesn’t need to tie himself with another. His devotion to said task however caused him to continuously find himself happily accepting books as an alternative form of payment for his missions much to the relief of the downtrodden towns he encountered. How much of that was powered by altruism, his contract to the goddess or his clever way to put a good name for his guild was deliberately left unsaid.

Fairytale

The Gutenberg is not an ordinary last name, rather it is one that traces back to a chain of master and apprentice who dedicated themselves in finding the lost library of Alexandria, legends say that it was burned in a great fire that consumed the city it was built on. The Gutenberg continued to march on regardless. Lucas is the latest apprentice of this line of Gutenberg, initially an orphan studying magic at Merlin Magic Academy before meeting Gutenberg before him and the man who would become his master, Johanne Gutenberg in his brief teaching stint. The two would then leave the academy together and go to various expeditions in search of the said library.

It is in one of those expeditions Johanne Gutenberg will meet its demise courtesy of a Tartarus Dark Mage who would also be soon killed in the crossfire of an ensuing battle. After burying the body in its resting place, he would be then contacted by a woman who tells him the truth of Alexandria. It wasn't a mere library, that long ago it was the seat of her power and that as the last surviving Gutenberg it is his mission to continue what his predecessors started. Seeing that he has nothing to lose, he agreed to continue the search.

He then spent years traveling around the land, meeting people, seeing places and improving his magic in various aspects. During the Civil War of Pendragon, he moved around the place providing aid to help in repairing what was destroyed by the war. It is during this period that he will be reunited with a former classmate of his, Azuria and it will eventually lead to him becoming one of the founders of Fenix Tear.

Lorenzo Calungsod Emiya

Lorenzo turned towards Caster as she left and said, "I know who you are, and to be honest with you, you did legitimately beat Athena herself and her behavior was unbecoming of someone of her 'Wisdom'. I admire you for that greatly, but not enough to refrain from outing you."

He then gripped the hilt of his sword and said, "Now, please stay away from my Saber."

Caster’s eyes went cold as her name was revealed and the tension suddenly rose once again, no skill was needed to determine that the woman was contemplating the odds of her getting away with murdering the master right now.

She made a step closer to the young man, and took another before suddenly stopping as she made his clothes tighter with a string.

Stepping forward in front of Lorenzo, she spoke "Master, please refrain from challenging a possibly hostile Servant yourself, if you would. It is my duty to protect you, not the other way around."

“Listen to your servant kid, I would go for the head if not for this deal.”

She then diverted her attention to said Servant her scowl only deepened as their eyes met

“Just shut your damn mouth.” She spoke as she concentrated on the senses of her spiders.

Where are they, there!

“There’s two of them, they are near the center of the city.” she reported as she commanded her spiders to keep watch. “Happy?”
Akira Yuzuki

There was a moment of quiet for Akira as he turned the gauntlets into motes of light, he thought that landing a ‘killing blow’ would be more difficult experience than this, perhaps it is simply the adrenaline getting to him or the fact he’s fighting a Nomu and not a real person.

Regardless the fight was finally o-

Time felt slow

His eyes turned into shards while his eyes looked down.

A monster much smaller than the one they have slain charged at him and left his arms and stomach cut, he can even see his leaking out from his body.

His vision blurred, he cannot hear Mei and yet he held himself for one last attack.

A spear was manifested, thrown as he fell but he didn’t fall into the ground. Arms catched his body, he felt the sudden displacement of his body.

He felt his body slowly regain its strength as his senses slowly return to normal, so he was saved by Kazuma-san. His quirk was a life saver for these situations.

“Me invincible? You’re getting the wrong class rep.” he jested as he covered his stomach and arm with barriers for pressure and stopping the bleeding.

“Nomu, is the new one dead?" he asked his tone being clear that he can still fight.

If he get confirmation that it is dead however he will immediately rush to Mei and look at his injuries. His face will contort in frustration.

"I got complacent." he spoke as he called an ambulance using the Hawkspad. Afterwards he will kneel to her and remove her gauntlets.

"I hope your auntie added a med kit on this." he asked as she scrolled the list clothes he recently got.

Cristina

The freelancer allowed herself to slightly lose composure, she admittedly messed up and got involved in a friendly fire. She was definitely would pay for it one day, maybe a little closer than she would wish. But for now, after taxing the limits of her Noble Arms twice in a row, she was too tired to care for trivial details.

She could leave now, she was too tired, her presence might cause conflict to the unexpected alliance. She knew everyone will understand if a bit disappointed if she went through.

"Are you going to run again." her voice echoed in her head as she tries to leave. Was that a...

...yeah they still need her, she couldn't run just yet.

She moved to a nearby balcony with her bloodied Noble Arm as her crutch, she was stretching her limits but her enemies felt they never lost numbers.

Seeing the futility of trying to call upon her domain for the third time in the row, the blood soaked girl resorted to throwing as many [Shooting Stars] as she could to the drones and whatever stuff her enemies will throw. It was a mindless, yet enormous bombardment a lone stars final yell in this very long night.

She didn't know many attacks she threw or what happened soon after, all she knew was she gave her all until she lost consciousness.

It wouldn't be enough for her sister to forgive her but she hopes it could be a start.

"My wish is not one that can be achieved without the grail. However...I swear that should it be corrupted by evil, my first priority will be to cleanse it, or if impossible, to destroy it."

Though, truthfully, Gajah Mada had no idea how to even begin destroying the grail should it come to that. She did have an anti-fortress Noble Phantasm, but smashing a corrupted wish-granter with reckless abandon did not seem to be the wisest course of action. Hopefully, her Master of some of the other magi could come up with something.

She continued, "That is all I will say on that matter. I am under no obligation to reveal the details of my wish at the risk of outing my true name. My inquiry was merely about your intention with a corrupted grail. That you went and described your own wish in such detail was done on your own accord. We have no such agreement in place. Unless, of course, you wish to make that a prerequisite to secure your cooperation?"

The Caster gave the idea a thought, exchanging names is not that horrible of an idea considering the requirements of her Noble Phantasm, it is also a good way to garner goodwill before everyone.

But there is no way she is going to agree to it, does that demi-goddess of a barbarian think she could control her? Sorry girl she hasn't lost her marbles yet.

“Tempting but no, I'll figure it out regardless, princess.” she declared as she descended before everyone, arrogance was barely concealed in her face. Not because she can deal with the alliance she joined but because she trusts them enough to not kill her. You could say that it was her twisted idea of trust.

She looked at Saber one more time, inspecting the divinity flowing on her.

It was disgusting, for someone to be revered through nothing but lineage.

"Er.. my wish. Well, I am no living man. It seems unfair that my wish would come before that of my Master's. But if I were to claim the wish as my own.. Well, it's a bit selfish. Not befitting of a King of Poland such as myself. I'm rather embarrassed to say. But I have no hidden True Name to worry about, so I suppose-"

Before he could reveal his goal, an announcement of sorts was transmitted by thought to (presumably) all competitors. Jan gives a firm nod to Saber. "Indeed, it seems the Grail's corruption has made its move. On the first day no less.. I will of course ride in to battle to meet it, as any proper Knight ought to. But I mislike how bold these corruptive forces are being.. To take to the field so early in a skirmish speaks of confident or desperation. Both of which are dangerous for us."

Caster let out a pang of sympathy despite hearing the announcement from the grail, she had an idea of what he’s about to say but kept it to herself. If she was right however, she thinks it was a worthy wish before the Grail.

“I’ll go with you.” she declared as looked at his mount a very decorated scooter, that screams war to anything that looks at it. She admits that it is a very amusing mount and one that she didn't expect from a cavalryman such as Rider. Shielder's motorcycle was more fitting to be honest.

Still no, orders from his master? Well she'll do whatever she wants then.

The Caster laid her eyes to whoever was speaking at the given moment watching the discussion that might hr life in a single moment. She also patiently waited for her master to give her directives but it appears that she’s willing to leave everything to her.

His gaze growing firmer, he spelled out what he wanted in exchange for putting in a good word for the Servant, "Help us confirm if that accident was completely accidental, and that ought to be proof that you're genuine about your intentions. Is that good enough?"

“Of course I can help with that, an alliance is a two way street after all.” The Caster spoke as she began to call for her familiars, while her reach to them are quite expansive, they are at the end of the day just normal spiders and there is only much she could do in one place.

"I have to confess, it hardly feels sporting to the rest of the Grail War to have a collective such as this. But I suppose I ought not to prioritize my battle lust if there is a danger of corruptive forces at play. I've no objections on principle alone to you joining, I suppose. But I'm not so clueless as to join hands with a total stranger."

“Everyone here is a stranger a few minutes ago, I just arrived late!” she pointed out before the barbarian princess asked her to send her spiders as scouts. “But I see your point, not everyone wears their heart on their sleeves.

She recalled how Athena tried to challenge, did she really need to guise herself as an old crone first. She’s THE goddess, just barged in if she had problems with her.

“I already did, it will take time before they reach however.” she answered dismissively.

She then continued, "Also, there is one question I wish to ask of you. A vital one, if we were indeed about to work together. Suppose the Grail was indeed corrupted, and there was no way to cleanse it of its corruption. What would you do with it?

The Caster gave her question genuine thought, she deserves that at the very least. And not because she didn’t know how her perception works.

“What I truly wish was to live in this world once again, I can accept living as a servant if that’s what was necessary.” she started. “Which means I would eventually need my own source of mana, the Holy Grail was not the only way to achieve that to be honest.”

She then walks at the building’s ledge, clearly not bothered that a misstep can cause her to fall.

“It would be a lie to say that I won’t be tempted to use it regardless but I believe that I would find an alternative by the time we reached the Grail.” she concluded.

She is the world’s greatest weaver after all, if the Holy Grail won’t solve her problems, she will weave her way out of it then,

“What about the three of you, what do you wish for the Grail? What goals do you esteemed warriors fight for?” she asked the three servants in the room.

“On the chance that it wasn’t corrupted.”

After all she’s not the only person who should spill her own story and if she pegged the three of them right, they will oblige her question.
Cristina

If there is one thing Cristina will regret on this day, it is not helping Callie, if she helped her capture or kill her father they might’ve got a convenient scapegoat for this mess.

But that thought is not here or there because once again they are getting surrounded.

Cristina took one look at the situation with unphased composure, she is tired but she still has a few more air left in her tank thanks to Qingshe’s lessons. Not that she can say the same thing to her allies.

One quick peek made it clear to her, these soldiers are here to go for the kill and one mistake will mean her end.

She took a deep breath as he looked at Myron, “When I say three, get out and run for your lives.” she declared.

“One”

She then created half-dozen Blinding Stars as their cover was beginning to give way against overwhelming firepower.

“Two”

She launched the light in different directions each assaulting the eyes of the unfortunate soldiers who looked.

“Three”

The freelancer disappeared and suddenly the room was filled with silence, giving Myron and Berto the chance to flee.

Mirage Space

Cristina looked from above as the confused soldiers stopped firing, the loud one must be their leader.

She immediately warped to his back and sent his head flying away before disappearing.

She is not trapped with them.

In this space, they are the ones trapped with her.
