@Crusader Lord that depends on whether you can keep your magic in your pants while you evolve.
but such magical reliance is something very cool if they ever meet Odin's "FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC, MAGIC IS HERESY" people XD

You're god damn right it is, sounds like we need some purging 'round here.
The thing for me is and always will be that as a platform, all the other 'stores' have a garbage UI and look like total crap. Steam is sleek as shit, and it's been around for forever so I know where everything is. And then I look at other stores and it's all just super clunky. If I get the choice between pirating and steam, I'll get it on steam most of the time just because it's more convenient. With the other stores, that really isn't the case, and I'll go out of my way to pirate instead.

That said, I also don't particularly feel like bloating up my laptop/computer with 200 different gaming platforms when 1 does the trick and does so far better, lol.
@6slyboy6 well, you did tell us that the 'sapience' came very suddenly, and perhaps we can infer from that that because all of our races achieved sapience at the same time (because, well, this is an RP, we start off on the same footing, and so we all achieved it at the same time) it was at the hand of a God, or something equating that. I wouldn't find it too farfetched that this race/the leader just so happened to be gifted with some sort of instinctual guiding knowledge on what to do per their first 2 technologies.

That said, that's definitely me just going by the rules and repeating what we can possibly infer from the situation, and not so much what I'd actually like to read. I'm fine with it, if that's the question, since it really doesn't impact me, my experience or how I view their race. And it's definitely a different approach from everyone writing what essentially is the same post over and over. Like yes, we get it, they build shelter and discover fire, and beat fish with sticks/put pointy sticks in water, but that's the same thing all the other races are doing so how interesting is it to read that 5x over? So in that sense, I'd say it's different, not bad.
Updated with three new plots for your viewing pleasure plus an upcoming setting.
@Ascendant You can, as long as you fit within the time limit you can post as many as you want. Once everybody is done or wants to move on (or a lot of time has elapsed IRL) then we'll be moving forward with another turn post.

I'm rather enjoying reading these posts thus far so I'll probably wait until at least two more posts or so have been made before I expand on my guys, personally. :)
FUCK magic. I don't care about it OOC, but IC I want my guys to be turbo-puritan against magic, just for some flavor.
@6slyboy6 also, will we get a choice in the matter? I'm thinking that for my people I want them to be anti-magic, just to throw some spanners into the wheels of those magic loving primitives around the continent. But then if I get magic technologies, that'd kinda be moot since I'd just have to not use them.
I think that that's fine for a basic one, but if we get say, one tech per turn or whatever you come up with, it'd be a very strange way of evolution. Like oh yeah we can sail using ships but we haven't figured out how to work wood effectively or how to get the material we need to make sails or make ships worthy. It's basically missing large gaps that we can't really cover on our own in the IC, I think?
@Caelum We are witnessing the birth of our generation's new Picasso

Spikes in the river, sounds like a good idea to me. I don't know about them being pushed down or whatever, but BIG STICK HURT FISH

True art comes from the soul.

And MS Paint.

And yes, the idea is, big spikes hurt fish that swim. Get fish. Eat fish. Survive. I figured with only 4 weeks under their belt, they'd get the basics of survival down first before they went on to culture and technology.

Petition for Caelum's art to be the actual art that later Artias' used to showcase to their young in school how primitive Artias caught fish?
