Because asking the mods "gib power" is a much better bid than demonstrating a groundswell of supporters, right? #Wraith4Mod2K19

Okay, so, an OOC will go up either tomorrow, or Tuesday. The reason for the extreme gap between those two dates is because I'm going on vacation, terribly sorry about that. I will attempt to get a character sheet up in this IC today, so that you folks can set to work on your characters.

To address powers- Generally any power is accepted, bar time travel, reality manipulation, and things of the sort. However, please don't make your powers too powerful. If your character has the capacity to bench press a city block or has powers strong enough to make battleship plating look like paper mache, that's too strong. Someone of about Spider-Man level and perhaps a tad more powerful is alright, though I'll take more powerful characters into consideration. Also, the stronger your character is, the more well written your character sheet must be. You must also have some sort of weakness to balance out powers. This rule is to prevent people fresh out of Free from running around willy-nilly with extremely strong powers out the wazoo.

And I would be good with any of the scenarios.

But I have an idea. Why don't people just have there first post or part of it to be about the beggining of the apocolypes?

I would instead prefer that people would put such information in thier backstories when the CS goes up, but I'm not disallowing flash backs if the roleplayer wishes to have them.
Ok, reading through, here's the current idea you guys seem to agree with on the whole. If you'd like edits I will do so.

There's a super villain who comes into contact with an alien race. They convince him that if he gives them the coordinates of Earth, they'll take it ovet and allow him to rule it. The aliens come to Earth and begin tbiet conquest, immediately after making a public spectacle of killing the aforementioned Super-villain in Times Square. The superheroes mobilize and syart destroying portions of the alien fleet. They realize that using the fleet on humanity is more trouble than its worth and release a prototype virus, so they have time to rally thier forces. The virus decimates the already crumbling humanity, leaving only a small amount of the population left. Some of these survivors are ex-heroes, and a small amount(I mean, REALLY small) developed powers as a result of the virus. Only (not sure of exact percentage. 5%? I dunno.) of the population remains, waiting for the aliens to return.

Everyone on board with that? Also, terribly sorry for any spelling errors, I'm on mobile.
Interested. Are we allowed to play Batman-style superheroes? (no superpowers, only technology)

Of course. But, do you mean Batman like this or Batman like this? Either one is fine, though I'd prefer the first one. The second one is still perfectly okay, but if you rely that heavily on tech, have fun trying to take care of it.

So, it seems that it has been closer to a year since the event of world-ending proportion has happened. What sort of apocalypse would you guys prefer? Options being:

1- Nuclear apocalypse. IMO this would be the most generic
2- Some kind of hyper deadly virus. The only people left are the ones who happened to have a immunity in thier genes. This would allow for enough people to be dead to convey the "holy shit, its the apocalypse" but leave enough alive that we could still form a cohesive story about civilizations battling each other.
3- Totally catastrophic super villain attack of world ending proportions.

Of the three, which would you all most like? If you feel as though you have a better idea for it, feel free to bring it up, but please still say which of these three is most preferable to you.
Can we have more than one? If so I'd be interested in having a Covenant ship as well.
Also, please note that I removed the 'Ship Specifications' section and replaced with with many more, more specific sections. The same will be done to 'Crew'. Keep in mind this is WIP.

To be honest, if it was even 2 weeks after it had happened I'm not sure that any settlements or anything would have even been built. This is assuming the apocalypse came about because of some sort of nuclear war of course. If it had, then a year or so might be more appropriate for settlements having already been built. But it's your RP, I don't want to seem like I'm forcing my opinion on you so just disreguard this if you'd prefer 2 weeks.

Well, I was thinking of 'Settlements' as more sort of pre-Apoc places going under new names. It would be like a group of people moving into Logan Airport and hastily building barricades and stuff.

So, it's clear that everyone wants Post Apocalypse. But, in regards to the question about, what time period would you guys most prefer? Sometime between two weeks and year, please.
Interested.

Am I right in saying that this is set in an original universe rather than Marvel, DC, etc.?

You are correct indeed. If it was set in Marvel or DC the existence of characters like Franklin Richards would make apocalypse a non-issue.

Interested.

I have been thinking of exploring something with superheroes that "happened" with the passage of Comet Hale-Bopp. I like your idea.

Also I like your Dr. Tachyon avy (I'm half way done with Wild Cards and considering purchasing Aces High).

Defacto

Thank you. Also, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend Aces High. IMO it's better than the first one, and the Yeoman and Fortunato stories are a lot more interesting.

So, would you guys prefer the roleplay beginning as the apocalypse is actively happening, or two weeks in the aftermath?
Would anyone be interested in an RP centered around Metahumans/Superheros during or immediately after the apocalypse?

The general idea thus far is that some kind of apocalypse happens(unsure of what at the moment) and depending on the results of the IC, we would either play through the progression of the apocalypse to start off, or we could begin about two weeks after the end. It would be about the heroes of the now fallen world struggling to survive, becoming leaders of their own civilizations or razing others. It would be about choosing sides in a struggle for power, and force our characters to think about what it really means to be called a hero.

Anyone interested?
Capital Wasteland.
What about a Fallout RP set in the ruins of London? Some possible factions:

The Monarchy: Led by the Monarch, a warlord squatting in the ruins of Buckingham Palace, claiming to be descended from the old royal family.
The Whitehall Republic: The remnant of the former English government and military in Westminster, directly opposed to The Monarchy.
Cathedral City: A loose community of outlaws, raiders, chem pushers and whores operating out of the ruins of St Paul's Cathedral.
The Ruskies: Descendants of the Communist Soviet forces stranded on English soil after the Great War, operating out of a derelict Soviet aircraft carrier beached at the mouth of the Thames.

Another possible hazard in the London Wasteland would be the London Underground. Full of all manner of ghouls and mutant beasties. Not to mention a ruthless slaver ring operating out of King's Cross Station.

Huh. That ended up a lot more fleshed out than the basic idea I started with.

This is interesting and all, but I don't like it. One of the most important features in Fallout is Americana, and setting it anywhere but the USA would take that away.
