@webboysurfReally like your char and his birthright is quite a good idea. It would be okay too change his physical abilities from temporary to permanent if you so chose. Either way I really like him and he is accepted! @RaijinslayerYeah those Aztec Names roll of the tongue don't they? My favorite is Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli their God of the Morning Star. As weird as it sounds holy dirt may be a interesting Birthright since the Goddess was believed to eat dirt, symbolizing her eating sin. @SlothLooks good so far! Cant go wrong with Loki. But you should define his magic a bit. @Tominas@Avanhelsing@Clever HansLooking forward to your chars.
@Tominas Present day and your char can be from around the world. @Avanhelsing Depends on the weapon. I guess a normal animal would be your companion? That would be totally fine.
I am interested in starting a Rpg based on the Scion Pen and Paper Game by White Wolf. You have no Idea what that is? No problem, the premise is simple. You are the child of a God imbued with a part of their power send to fight in an eternal war against the Titans, great monsters and giants of myth. So if you know your way around mythology than you can basically ignore that this is based on a pen and paper.
Before the coming of the Cross and Crescent Moon the people of venerated their gods. The gods however did not disappear with their followers. They live in the Overworld, one of the many planes of existence next to our own. Each pantheon has their own, complete with a afterlife and whatever else there may be. All the gods however have a common enemy. The Titans, monstrous beings of myth ranging from the Norse Jotun and Japanese Oni to the Irish Fomorian. Among fighting these creatures and infighting among each other many gods take trips to the mortal plane. And from time to time (With Zeus perhaps every time) fall in love with a mortal, or perhaps just seek a night of fun. The children of these encounters are part god, part human and foot soldiers in the war against the titans as well as the protagonists for this Story.
Birthrights are gifts showered on the Scions by their God parents. These can include weapons, armor and equipment featured in myth—the armor of Achilles, the swords Gram and Kusanagi, the coco macaque, The Book of the Dead, or the shield Xiuhichimalli—or magical beasts—the winged horse Pegasus, the boar Gullinbursti, a nekomata, an ahuizotl, or even a dragon. It might even mean command over a supernatural retinue of Spartoi, Einherjar, tengu, jaguar knights, mummies or zombies, or access to the advice of a knowing guide, either a wise mortal or a benign supernatural being. Though many ancient Birthrights exist, new ones are being created all the time for today’s Scions.
Born of the Titans but tied to the World, the Gods once blatantly interfered in the development of human civilization and, in turn, were shaped by the beliefs of man into the deities we recognize from Classical mythology. The Gods long ago retreated from the mortal world to avoid the dangers of being drawn into conflict via Fatebinding to their mortal followers. When one of the Gods visits the World now, it is almost always done incognito and for the purpose of reacquainting himself with humanity. In the course of “reacquainting themselves with humanity,” many Gods manage to sire Scions.
The Visitation is a pivotal event in the life of a Scion. It is the moment when her true nature and divine lineage is revealed to her, typically by her divine parent, though occasionally through a divine herald such as Hermes, Legba, Hugin/Munin, etc. This is also the occasion where the Scion is gifted with her Birthrights
The Overworld is a realm of limitless potential where both the Titans and the Gods were born and where the various pantheons now make their homes
Name: Age: (A new Scion so 18 - 35) Pantheon: (Examples include the Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Japanese, Aztec, Irish, Yoruba, Chinese and countless other divine Families.) Divine Parent: (Everything goes that was once worshipped. Smaller Divinities have considerably less power and their Scions are often looked at as weak and unimportant.) Appearance: History: Abilities/Skills: Supernatural Abilities: (Nothing too powerful, you are not a god yet.) Birthrights: (A Birthright is a mythical artifact or weapon a Scion uses to channel his powers or just do general awesome stuff. Think of the golden fleece, Kusanagi, a voodoo doll or a part of Ganeshas missing tusk. Just dont overdo it.)
If you have questions just ask and if you found grammatical or spelling errors im sorry, English is my second language. Looking forward to your interest!
@RoccanIronclad Glad too have you on board then! @Tominas If you find enough about Hodr go for it. Your Char would probably not have the best standing with the Aesir though. Good to have you on board too!
@Clever Hans I just realized how little info I gave. You would play a fresh Scion, age range from 18 to mid 30s. Concerning the abilities it depends, supernatural Strength is completely okay and throwing cars would be an good level. Abilities like a limited gift for prophecy, talking to the dead, walking through walls, slow flight or controlling a limited amount of water would all be acceptable to give some kind of comparison.
