Was talking to someone who worked in closed captioning who is now getting a new degree because so many companies are turning to AI to close caption now… Which AI is pretty shite at it still.

It’s a whirlwind of clothing, measuring tapes, pins, and tailor’s chalk that Nic can barely keep up. Is this what it feels like for people to enter his emergency room? Maybe he’s a little more understanding of how people can seem so disoriented when they first start out there now…
When they bring Cassi into the back, Nic smiles nervously at her and feels those nerves rise as she seems to inspect him closely. When she finally speaks, his cheeks and ears blush brightly at her French. “Ah, um… merci beaucoup.” Nic manages to stammer out. “Êtes-vous sûr que ce n'est pas trop?”

Nero
Location: Caden & Nero’s Home - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Nero smiles innocently up at Caden from his arms. “Well, I probably would have to ask for some help from Cassi or Nic and that’d be awfully inconvenient with tomorrow’s event.” They chirp before patting Caden’s cheek and then wrapping their arms around his neck.
“But, I knew you’d catch me.” They say confidently as they beam brightly at their mate. It’s the truth though, they didn’t have a doubt in their mind that Caden would always be there for them.
I would think so! Since Lunar is the spymaster for the Wizard Queen, right? So this spy network would be for Rhinecliff - I think that’s what we ended up choosing Nyx to be since I was late to join :P
And I suppose I better start making NPCs finally (Which will probably be exclusively working in Nyx’s spy network. Maybe I’ll throw in some changeling family members for Rhinecliff to extort I mean hire)
The Changeling’s Crows (Aka Nyx’s spy network)
Rose Torehahk

Description: Rose decided that she would run a tavern and inn when she first encountered one and met an interesting changeling. Nyx and Rose quickly became friends after trying to drink each other under the table and the dwarven lady decided that if running a similar establishment could lead to more friendships such as theirs, it would be a worth endeavor.
It was by pure coincidence that the bubbly and stout Rose chose the location of Hathforth but it felt like fate when her and Nyx crossed paths again. As someone who’s always felt like she’s had a heart too big for the world, she vowed to help the changeling in their plight for revenge on the Wizard Queen.
When she’s not serving alcohol and food to the citizens of Hathforth or setting them up with a room at the Rose Inn, she’s helping Nyx maintain her spy network by recruiting others to the cause or smuggling information that might prove useful.
While she has a knack for reading people that some might call ‘magical’ but she swears it’s just her intuition. She knows what signs to look for when someone is lying and has carefully developed this skill over time. She does not possess magic or a seed.
“Based on what they did when we first met, I don’t think it would’ve been a good reaction.” Nic says with a cheeky smile. It’s not long after walking in that Nic is dragged away for measurements. When they start asking about fabrics, cuts, and all things that sound foreign to Nic, he smiles sheepishly.
“I think you should probably ask the young lady I came with because I feel like I’m out of my depth here.” He says, ears red.
Nero
Location: Caden & Nero’s Home - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Nero watches with delight as Caden’s wolf emerges from the tree line with incredible speed until he seemingly notices his new roof ornament. At his words, Nero places their hands on their hips and stands proudly. “You suppose correctly!” They state confidently before they stop their bravado.
“I don’t trust myself to teleport down though and I would prefer not to break a bone…” They sit down on the edge of the roof and lean over to continue talking to Caden. “I might be willing to consider this a tie if you would be so kind as to catch me.” They let the words hang for a moment or so before they let themself fall off.
Nic nods, flashing a smile. “I enjoy anytime I get to spend with you.” He tells Cassi with a wink, lifting their joined hands to kiss hers. The tip of his ears turn a little red, but he makes sure to keep his eyes on her as he does this before letting their hands fall back down. He really does mean it, though. Even if the process is tedious, he enjoys the time with Cassi.
“I probably would’ve just shown up looking terribly underdressed if you didn’t do this for me anyway.” He adds, still smiling before he dramatically shivers. “I don’t think I would’ve been able to bear the judgement from Nero and Caden.”
Nero
Location: Caden & Nero’s Home - Chicago, IL Skills: Teleport Fit
The imp strokes through the wolf’s fur for a moment before Caden runs off without much warning. “Oh, I see we’re just starting off with cheating!” Nero yells with a laugh before making the split decision to use their magic. They have a clear picture of their bedroom in their head but just as they flip the switch to teleport, they also think of their new office. The scenery around them whirls and twists before a small pop sounds within Nero and they land on their feet.
“Oh fuck-” Nero scrambles to find their footing as they realize the ‘floor’ beneath them is angled. It’s not a floor beneath them, it’s the roof of Caden’s house. Nimbly, they start making their way towards where they guess Caden would be running from. Probably best for them to wait there before trying to jump down.
Willow smiles and nods happily, liking the idea that Rowan could depend on her for something. When he turns his head to look at her, her heart feels as if it skips a beat in reaction to his smile. But, when he said the words ‘since you’ll be my mate’, her heart starts to race and her tail starts to wag fast, both causing her to blush deeply in small embarrassment of her reaction.
“Mhm.” She hums with a nervous smile. “R-right.” She can’t help herself and her feelings for Rowan when he says things like that!
Xavier can’t help but grin at the reaction, happy to know he was able to see Killian’s face light up. “Sounds good to me. Do you want company today? I can do some of my work in here on my laptop if you’d like?” He offers, acting as if he didn’t bring his briefcase with him to the hospital with the full intention of staying if the bear would let him. “Then you don’t have to deal with a phone going off a lot with all my questions.” His tone changes to one of teasing - surely he can understand the basics before he has to bother Killian with questions.
Nic can’t help but smile at how happy Cassi seems to be just from helping him pick out clothes, even as he follows her with the other bags to the SUV. He’s tempted to answer sarcastically and say something about spending so much time shopping but… Having a suit for the bonding ritual of Caden and Nero is not only important to Cassi, but to himself as well. It’s about time he started looking like an adult.
“Lead the way, oh doll maker.” He says with a smile as he unlocks the SUV so they can put the bags inside.
Nero
Location: Caden & Nero’s Home - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Nero just nods as Caden responds, feeling vulnerable for saying the words out loud and silly for having the thought in the first place. There’s not time for them to reply as Caden initiates a passionate kiss and they immediately kiss him back, trying to ignore the allure of just suggesting they have their way with each other in the woods.
Even so, Nero feels disappointment as their kiss ends before their ears turn red from Caden’s teasing. The distraction works well. “…You’re on.” They say, eyes narrowed in a competitive but playful glare.
Willow blinks in surprise when Rowan begins to play with her tail, not accustomed to the feeling but finding it pleasant. Nodding along to what Rowan is saying, she closes her eyes. “I hope they find some peace there after everything…” She says softly, unable to stop herself from thinking of Aurora, Jade, and the other Omegas she’d gotten close to.
“Do you think… I could come with you?” She asks, moving her head so she can look up at Rowan. “I want to see what they’re like… maybe say hi to some of the Omegas I know…?”
Xavier glances from Killian’s face to his hand as it wraps around his wrist. You’re still so weak… He thinks as his gaze shifts back to Killian’s face just as his eyes open. He returns the Omega’s smile with a concerned one of his own. “I’ll leave tomorrow, then.” Xavier decides with a firm nod.
“But you’re not allowed to help me with questions or anything until you’ve fully recovered, alright?”
A silly sort of smile curls Willow’s lips as she gives in and curls into Rowan more. “Okay,” She murmurs softly, letting herself get settled and comfortable. “If you insist…” She takes a deep breath in, letting Rowan’s scent fill her senses.
“How is everything going with the other Omegas?” She asks, curious if the relocation efforts are going smoothly.
Xavier’s frown doesn’t alleviate as they listen to Killian. As much as he wants to argue or say that the two could be mates, he holds back. “Even if you are somehow ‘used’ to a hospitalization like this, it doesn’t make want to leave you any less…” His thumb brushes along Killian’s cheekbone. “You have to promise me you’ll keep me updated. I can come back to pick you up once you’re ready if you’d like even.”
