@Crimson Lion

Riku probably only has a small handful, and all solo. Tournaments tend to be team focused, and Riku's never been on a team. However, I'd say Riku has way more Build Competition wins under his belt, given how build crazy and artistic he is, though I'm guessing even those were mostly local stuff at the arcade shop.
@KenjuGuy *Snorts back a laugh* Okay, you got me with that ending. That was pretty funny.
I'm not too picky about ships, but I'd be partial to the Nahel Argama among the above suggestions. Of course, if it were my decision alone I'd be picking a Zanzibar, hands down. I'm a huge sucker for the Zeons, Char in particular so... yeah.
Holy shit, Breaker 3 us SOOOO much better than New Breaker. How in the actual hell did New Breaker manage to be such a massive downgrade by comparison?

Yeah.

I figured as much. It'd suck to introduce a build that cool this early only for it to suffer from inevitable power creep later on. XD

Is that Gunpla intended for the late game?
If he was the big guy, it would be ironic since I see Jun as the shortest guy on the team in my head.

And though he is smart in some aspects, he's mostly the reckless hothead who bets on himself.

You don't have to literally be big to be the big guy, it's purely metaphorical. Toph was the Big Guy in Avatar, and she was physically the smallest in the group.
I attributed The Hero to Naoki namely due to him being the one to form the team and admittedly making an assumption that he'll be the default Captain later on.

Still don't really know what Riku is. Too tough to be a pure Smart Guy, too smart to be the Big Guy. And I think you're right that Kai and Jun suit The Lancer, especially to each other. That doesn't leave Riku with very much, and I sure as hell wouldn't call him The Hero, that's for sure.

Kai plays with tactics not just brute force making him closer to smart guy, he could also act as lancer as a contrast with Naoki since they are both former player in teams and their specialties are opposites. I think Jun fits more with Big Guy due to his aggressive personality.

Well, Riku doesn't really fit Big Guy either. I mentioned one being able to make an argument for it, but that argument would be based entirely on the fact that he looks like a punk, therefore he must BE a punk. Riku has demonstrated by now that he leans far more toward being analytical, only skewing toward brute force for a brief moment while using God Hand Mode.

It's possible that nobody fits the Big Guy archetype, in which case the team as a whole no longer fits the Five-Man Band trope.

Instead, it looks a little more like this:

The Hero: Naoki

The Lancer/Smart Guy: Riku

The Lancer/Smart Guy: Kai

The Lancer/Smart Guy: Jun

The Heart?: Blade

Seems to be that Riku, Kai, and Jun are all varying degrees of Lancer and Smart Guy. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if Blade also is some degree of Lancer/Smart Guy as well. xD
Huh, so if we're a Five-Man Band as it were, then which of the 5 roles are we individually I wonder?

The Hero: Naoki

The Lancer: ?

The Big Guy: Kai

The Smart Guy: ?

The Heart: ?

Seems obvious to me to put Naoki in the Hero spot. He's the one forming the team and bringing us together in the first place, also he's likely going to be the one acting as the de facto Team Captain. I personally put Kai in the Big Guy slot. An argument could be made to put Riku there, but I feel like Kai fits it slightly better due to him being a great battler but having poor building skills. I honestly don't know where anyone else would go, hence why those are left with question marks. Any other opinions to offer on this?
