@IzurichYes that totally works!
@SilverPaw I'm thinking two weeks, but it's subject to change (longer in that case)

Erik // The Zany Geezer | Always smiling, he is up and at it at the crack of dawn. He somehow never seems to tire. One of the founding members of the group. Skilled in multiple areas he is the unofficial leader along with Ajax. They served together in operation Cerberus and have a long history as close friends.

Dallas // The World's strongest custodian | A relatively new face in the Commune. A dutiful and fatherlike individual. He's a protector, throwing his life in the line for the wellbeing of the group. His strength is incredible but his technique needs some refinement.

Ajax // The Floor General | Ex Cerberus operative, well rounded AB type excelling in agility and dexterity, skilled in using a multitude of weapons. Suffers from Miasma rage due to being exposed to it for extended periods of time. Instead of frenzying he channels the energy into a violent outburst from which he can recover. Ajax is older than he seems and he’s looking to find out what happened to his family.

Akaia // The Wildling | A Sidhe with stunted speech. Able to cloak herself and traverse quietly she’s a whisper in a dark forest. She’s a mystery to many around her. Has been with the group for many years serving as one of their scouts.

Lysandra Tran // The Bossy Know-it-All Science Lady | A brilliant mind and incredible wit, her value to the Commune is immeasurable. A horrible free fall left her with paralysis from the waist down. Armed with a variety of technological equipment she always has something on hand to deal with challenges, both on and off the battlefield.

Vincent Ryder // The Mad Dog of Crow's Nest | A recent arrival at the Crow's nest and he's already earned quite the reputation. Hot headed and always eager to fight. Has lost most of his memories but does not seem to care much. He lives in the here and now, reckless and headstrong.

Desmond Mores // The Regretful Brother | A quick and agile one eyed fighter armed with a polearm. He has to be quick because one slip up and the Lost could tear him to shreds. His sister became a Revenant after her untimely passing.

Poppy // The Stern Medic | A desolate winged fairy searching for something important. Armed with a crossbow she provides cover from above. When in need of quick escape she silences enemies with powerful weapons infused with opium.

Indigo // The Tall Dark Stranger | As much a mystery to themselves as to others, they only recently discovered the Revenant condition is not unique to them alone. Their intimidating looks and supernatural strength are mellowed out by an off kilter but pleasant personality.

Juice // The Loose Cannon | Another mystery who's face would not be recognized by anyone but himself. He's odd, unpredictable and slightly unhinged, fitting for someone who pops in and out of a fight, followed by a deafening explosion.

The departed

Cerise // The Scout with the Rose-Tinted Lens | Positive and kind yet armed with a deadly sniper rifle. Her ability to teleport and cling to surfaces makes up for her less than impressive physical capabilities. She has lost a lot of her memories but remains hopeful the world will be better. Afraid to find her vestiges because she thinks they might change her or reveal something that she doesn't want to know.

Lysandra uncovered a vestige in the Ruined City belonging to Cerise. Cerise decided to absorb its memories, restoring part of her turbulent and disturbing past. Faced with these troubling revelations Cerise decided to part ways with the Commune.

In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster "The Great Collapse" has brought collapse to the world as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of revenants. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, gifted with supernatural powers in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood.

After the Great Collapse, “Cerberus”,a revenants operation unit was founded by the Provisional government. They are tasked with overseeing the lives of all revenants and collect a regular levy of blood beads, which they are also in charge of distributing. They effectively began the restoration of order, and ended the hunting of humans for blood and wars between revenants.

Not all Revenants are willing to partake of human blood, considering it a loss of their humanity. Human blood is, however, a more potent and alluring food source for Revenant senses, leading many to preferentially consume it when possible. There is no evidence of addictive properties to this preference. Fortunately for the human population, the provisional government protects the majority of them from abuse. The dwindling of Blood Beads, however, is an increasing threat.

Alongside operation Cerberus a nameless group of vigilantes is fighting for salvation of both Revenants and humans alike. They are seeking to find a way to destroy the Lost once and for all, while navigating the threats posed by the world around them. Our characters will be part of this group, joining together for a common cause.

The rp is based on the game Code Vein. Some elements of the game we kept the same, some we changed and we added new things too. No prior knowledge of the game is needed to participate. It is possible to play cannon characters, but considering the changes we made it will require some planning with the GM's.
The story takes place in a post apocalyptic world. It is unrecognizable, natural disasters ravaged continents, some seas dried up completely, previously tropical climates were overcome with frost. Large settlements attract the danger of the Lost, so small hideouts are spread across ruined cities and sewers. A handful of cities are struggling to stay standing.

Time is measured according to the event of the Great Collapse. A cataclysmic event responsible for the annihilation of roughly half the human population on Earth. There is little information available as to the nature of the collapse. It has been roughly fifty years since it happened. This makes the current society very young. There aren’t many alive who are able to call back to a world different to this one.

Revenants

Revenants were created by implanting an engineered BOR parasite into the heart of a human corpse. BOR Parasites (Biological Organ Regenerative Parasite) attach itself to the heart of a creature that has lost vital functions and sends its own blood into the host, allowing it to regulate and control all organs, including the brain.

Revenants can only be killed by destroying the heart, where the BOR Parasite is located. Any other fatal wound merely causes the Revenant to disperse into particulate matter which stitches itself back together later. Destruction of the heart causes the Revenant to die in truth, their body decaying into packed ash. The initial awakening, and any dispersal of the Revenant, will cause some level of memory loss. This is usually unnoticed by the Revenant until someone causes them to notice the loss, or if the memory loss is large or particularly vital. Memories lost in this manner, at least ones vital to a Revenant's personality, may form into a vestige, a blood-red crystal.

Each Revenant has a blood-type like factor in their blood personal to them alone. It gives them unique strengths and weaknesses along with supernatural powers.

The Revenant condition has multiple dangerous side effects, however. The first is an unending and intensifying desire to consume human blood caused by their BOR Parasite stimulating their nervous system. Termed blood thirst, neglecting this hunger will eventually cause the state of Frenzy and reduce the Revenant to a Lost.

Sidhe

These humanoid beings emerged shortly after The Great Collapse. Their origin is unclear. They are rare, even fewer in numbers than humans. Some say they are nature personified, an attempt of the Earth to heal itself from the mass destruction that took place. This theory is supported by the fact that they breathe life. Their breath carries fast growing spores capable of creating flora of any kind.

This incredible feature is also their weakness. While they are immune to the Miasma created by the Lost, breathing in polluted air weakens them immensely. They thrive in areas where the air is purified. This often leads them to live in close proximity to or alongside humans. The Sídhe provide food and medicine and in return humans provide them with a place to live.

When they are mortally wounded and die it is possible to resurrect a Sídhe. Similar to Revenants their heart needs to remain intact. They are buried in a bed of fertile soil to regenerate, but unlike Revenants they retain their memories.

The Lost

The Lost are Revenant whose BOR parasites have continued their infestation, spreading entirely through the body. As the BOR Parasite is no longer centralized to the Revenant's heart, the Lost are completely immune to death and will reform no matter what. The Parasite completely destroys the host personality, rendering them violent, mindless and cannibalistic. Lost are the primary threat.

Humans
At one time the dominant race on the planet. They are greatly outnumbered by the Revenants. A few small settlements of humans remain. Humans are known for their tenacity and will to thrive, which are made even stronger because of the dire circumstances they are living in. Some choose to live in government facilities, providing regular blood donations in exchange for a semi comfortable life. Others live in close knit communities, armed to the teeth. If they are lucky a Sidhe will join their side, immensely boosting their chances of survival.

Revenants
The supernatural powers the revenants command originate from their blood type. They can be roughly divided into four different types.
🩸 Type AB Boosts their physical capabilities to much greater heights, surpassing other Revenants in terms of strength, speed and stamina. Their senses are heightened and can pick up the sound of a pebble falling off a car.
🩸 Type B Gives the Revenant the ability to teleport over short distances, disappearing into shadowy tendrils and appearing somewhere else.
🩸 Type A Produces bolts of energy the Revenant can fire off from their hands.
🩸 Type O Allows for the construction of telekinetic barriers. The barriers require focus to maintain. Experienced users can keep up a barrier without their physical presence, but this reduces its effectiveness and it will fade over time.

Sidhe
🌱 Growths Some Sídhe are augmented by nature with a fifth limb. They come in different forms including tendrils, tails and even wings. The tails are the strongest appendage and tendrils the most versatile. Wings allow for limited flight but they can’t carry the Sídhe over great distances.

🌱 Camouflage The breath of a select few Sidhe allow them to produce a pollen which refracts the light around them, making them invisible. It also works while they move, but it's less effective creating a shimmering effect with more dynamic moves.

BOR parasites
BOR Parasites were discovered before the Great Collapse when creatures miraculously came back to life and eventually turned cannibal in a process called “Zombification”. Research into the phenomenon found that an unidentified life form had attached to the creature’s hearts and taken control of every cell in their host’s bodies. A procedure was developed, whereby the growth and contamination of the parasite is kept below a certain level. Patients will sleep for a varying length of time that cannot be predicted, but will awaken with their mind and volition intact: A Revenant.

Miasma
The Lost continually produce Miasma from their bodies which accumulates in the atmosphere. Miasma inhalation induces the Bloodthirst reaction in sane Revenants, rapidly reducing the time it would take for them to Frenzy.

Masks
Both Revenants and Sidhe wear masks for different reasons. The Revenants wear purifier masks formerly referred to as the “anti-miasma apparatus,” these devices to protect themselves from the effects of the Lost’s miasma. The inner workings of the equipment are quite simple, as the local air merely passes through filters that use a fluid mixture containing the owner’s blood, which then neutralizes the miasma.

The Sídhe modified the technology used by the Revenants to create a type of mask allowing them to reabsorb the air they breathe out. Ideally this would result in a continuous cycle, but the technology is flawed. Eventually they do need fresh air. They carry with them a small supply of “oxygen” in a tank or bottle on their person. This allows them to refresh their supply. The lengths they can travel are limited and venturing out too far into uncharted areas is dangerous.

Vestiges
A blood red crystal. They are memories of a dispersed Revenant, sometimes going as far back as the Great Collapse. It glows when in the presence of the Revenant it belongs to. They are rare and a sought after item for trade.

Mistle
A mysterious plant-like organism discovered around 30 years after the great collapse. It is capable of cleansing Miasma from the surrounding environment. It transforms the Miasma into a substance incredibly similar to blood. It forms into tear shaped “fruits” and can be treated as such. Stored and processed into various other products. A fully matured mistle loses its ability to cleanse Miasma. Instead it creates a continuous supply of blood beads. Their lifespan is not known. There have been reports of many of them dying, causing a dangerous shortage of blood beads.

Blood beads
The tear shaped fruits of the mistle. Large specimens are stated to keep an adult revenant healthy for two months.

☑ All standard roleplaying rules apply, be nice to each other
☑ The roleplay will be a combination action and slice of life. Each team member will have the possibility of a personal subplot during the roleplay. You can see it as a chapter dedicated to your character. Feel free to plan this out with us and the others.
☑ About the pictures used in your CS, if you use one of course. We prefer a semi realistic anime style image, in keeping with the idea of the game. If you need help finding a picture let us know, we’ll be happy to hunt with you on Pinterest. I love making collages, so if you have multiple pictures I can make one for you. It’s like a moodboard for your character.

☑ We’re looking for about 8 roleplayers who enjoy a casually advanced roleplay and come up with great characters. This is not a first-come, first-serve sort of roleplay. We are looking for characters who vibe well together, who power wise would make a balanced team. So that means just because you submit a CS it doesn't mean you will get accepted, please keep that in mind. We will close applications after a while and make a selection.
☑ When you feel that you are done with your character sheet please send it to either of us by PM. Don’t post it in the OOC or the Character Sheet tab yet.

☑ The GM’s will post at least once a week and we’d like to ask the players to do the same. In case you’re unable to make your post because you feel uninspired/have writer's block or there is some other issue, please let us know. You are free to skip a posting turn. We’ll make sure your character moves along with whatever is going on IC.
We'll keep a record on when a player passes the seven days mark without posting or communicating. If for whatever reason this happens twice your character will be made inactive, since you're unable to keep the weekly commitment at that time. After about a month of no communication your spot will be made available to new players.

☑ We are not forcing anyone to use Discord for this roleplay. The OOC will be used to post important information, so anyone without Discord will not be left out. Of course you can chat with us and each other on Discord if you want to. There is a Discord for the rp, accepted players will get a link once we have a full cast.
☑ You can give your character’s speech a color. It’s encouraged but not mandatory. The same goes for a header at the start of your post. It looks nice and it helps to keep things organized. Usually the header includes the following, time, location and interactions.

June 15rd, 2021 | 18:43p.m. | Atlantic Ocean, Poseidonis

The Team was standing inside a conference room, attending Dr Bingley's lecture with his Atlantean colleagues. The room was modified with both magic and science to allow for non-Atlanteans to breathe and move around normally.
"Welcome esteemed colleagues of the genetics field. I trust that you've all thoroughly analyzed the reports I've sent. I stand here today to present the most recent findings on a cure to counteract a controversial gene. This gene gives some Atlanteans dangerous magical powers"

He stepped away from the desk and went to stand in front of a projector screen. Different slides came into view, detailing the characteristics of said gene. The gene was ancient, as old as Atlantis itself. Over time systematic expungement destroyed most of it, while some got diluted and mixed into many different regular Atlantean strains. A very small percentage remained. It was a dormant trait, but when the right factors came together the trait became active.

"I have identified a specific designator of family lines belonging to a specific DNA strain" Dr Bingley pulled up the image of an eye shaped mark. A mark supposedly worn somewhere on the body by carriers of the gene.
"So far this is the only identifiable mark I've been able to find"

He cleared his throat and switched the images again. This part of his research he’d keep under wraps for now. Dr Bingley continued sharing the details of a proto type cure.
“As the gene and its carriers are incredibly difficult to track down, I have come up with the next best thing. A cure.”

Dr Bingley opened up one of his briefcases and pulled out some samples.
“I have developed a gene therapy which can be administered during all stages of prenatal care.” “It effectively gets rid of the gene, while leaving the remaining DNA intact”

A pair of Atlantean guards rushed into the conference room, interrupting the Professor mid sentence.
"Poseidonis is being attacked by Deluge forces" One of them stated, trying his best the stay calm. The guard looked at everyone present in the room, reinforcements were needed. The other guard addressed Mirage.
"The king has requested the assistance of you and your Team.
We need reinforcements at three separate locations. The Aquarium, The Salt processing plant and at AHARD 1."

He seemed to be the more level headed between the two, issuing out the commands given to him by Aquaman.
"I'm going to the Aquarium, Aalto is taking his team to the Salt processing plant."

"We have to retaliate and figure out what they want."

Location: The submarine
Interactions: The Team

Daphne brought up her hands to Ja's face and softly brushed away his tears. Tears that might have been there if they weren't floating in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. There was pain in his eyes, but also strength. Ja really had two sides to him. She followed his gaze to the submarine. A flash of orange excited from the top. Kassy. Daphne knew Kassy was probably just as upset as Ja. Her eyes followed Kassy's trail through the water. She was swimming fast, really fast, creating a good distance between the Team and the squid.

Daphne wondered why. She looked at Ja again and pointed at the both of them and to Kassy, indicating she wanted to go check on her. Daphne let go of Ja and steadied herself in the water. The adrenaline of the fight died down. Instead she started to feel tired and lightheaded. She ignored the feeling and swam into the direction of Kassy. Suddenly a sharp pain shot up in her head. A kind of pain she wasn't used to anymore. This headache wasn't dulled at all, it was as painful as a headache in her human form, maybe even worse.

Daphne stopped swimming to hold her head. She closed her eyes and tried to ride out the waves of pain. The tiredness was starting to overwhelm her and her heart was pounding in her ears. Some areas of her body were starting to show signs of distress, the surface of her skin shriveled and some vines grew limp and fell off her head.

She realized something was definitely wrong. It could be the sea water affecting her body. Daphne opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry. She managed to spot Ja and signaled to him she had to go back to the submarine.

A couple of minutes later

With considerable effort on her part Daphne managed to drag herself back to the submarine. The teen girl sat in a pool of water inside the escape trunk, gathering up the strength to go inside. She didn't want to cause a scene.
Just breathe.....breathe.....

Daphne composed herself just enough to partially dry herself off with a towel and slip into a black t-shirt and track pants, one of the spare sets of unisex clothing on board of the submarine. Her mouth was dry and she was too tired to really do much about it. She sat down on a backseat and drew up her legs to her chest, her hair was still dripping wet. She shivered and surveyed the Team with tired eyes.

Location: Atlantic Ocean
Interactions: Metamorph

There was a flash of heat and a rush of water very close to her. Daphne instinctively brought up her arms to protect herself, her vines responded like a fifth limb, cocooning around her. The blast of the impact pushed her away from the squid's beak and sent her tumbling away from the sea creature. She managed to get back into position and saw what had happened.

A trail of distorted water and bubbles lead from the submarine towards the squid. It was enveloped in a dark cloud which sadly wasn't ink. The blast of the submarine's weapon completely blew off the upper part of its body. It struggled in pain, twisting and desperately flailed its tentacles. She looked away. Daphne felt sick to her stomach.

After a while Daphne forced herself to look, feeling concerned about her team mates. Ja immediately caught her attention. He was huddled up in a ball, floating relatively close to the squid.
Ja....
Daphne knew about his deep connection to the animal kingdom, the Red. Her chest tightened almost painfully. She couldn't imagine what he was feeling right now. There wasn't much she could do but comfort him, so that's what she was going to do.

Daphne swam up to Ja. He was still in a fetal position and she hesitated. She couldn't speak so she touched his shoulder gently, to let him know she was there. He didn't move. Daphne moved in a bit closer and gently squeezed his shoulders. She didn't want him to have to see the squid anymore and blocked his view with her body. Her vines spread around them almost protectively.
Come on Ja look at me...
