She actually has very short hair, but is almost always wearing a wig (usually long and blonde). Fairly light skin, often uses lipstick and makeup. Pays attention to her appearance, and it shows. Clothing may vary, but tends towards the formal and practical.

*Physical Abilities/Skills: Athletic, and very quick on her feet. Good at squeezing into tight spaces. Extremely nimble fingers.
Corin is an expert with machines, and can take apart or assemble complex devices incredibly quickly, given the right tools. Her job being what it is, locks and cameras are her specialty. She knows her way around a computer, and although she's no hacker, she can keep communications and data very, very safe. Her knowledge extends to guns, as well. She's a skilled markswoman- though not exceptional -and knows a wide variety of firearms inside and out. She's taken some self-defense training, but is relatively weak in close combat. However, she's quite good at changing her appearance when needed, whether though dyes, wigs, clothing, makeup, or even posture. She can't pass herself off as a particular person, but can make herself extremely difficult to recognize or pinpoint in a crowd.

*Personality: Corin is calm and thoughtful, known for remaining cool under pressure and never panicking, no matter how fucked she may appear to be. She values this trait in herself, and expects it in others as well. Though she'll improvise and rely on her instincts if a problem is urgent, she much prefers to analyze situations, planing ahead and gathering information, making sure all the right pieces are in place before she closes in for a kill. She's something of a perfectionist, and doesn't take failure well.
In spite of her general demeanor, however, she's not as icy as one might expect. She enjoys her job very much, and takes a great deal of pleasure in methodically tracking down and executing her targets, savoring the feeling of being in control. She has a playful side as well, and will occasionally tease and flirt with her partners in crime- or, if the opportunity affords it, toy with her victims a little before ending them.
She gets annoyed when she doesn't get her way, and holds deep grudges over even the smallest of matters. Although she can seem quite friendly on the surface, she's distrustful at heart, and cares nothing for those around her. Corin is ambitious, and seeks to move up in the world, perhaps eventually becoming a mob boss or a CEO.

*Background: Corin's parents had never done particularly well in life. Her mother suffered from regular bouts of depression and remained unemployed, wasting away her days unemployed and in misery, while her father worked a crap job for long hours to sustain them in a tiny apartment. Not a particularly loving family, but they cared for each other in their own ways. Corin was a calm and obedient child, outperforming every other student at the public school she went to and quickly becoming fascinated by machines. Without access to the trinkets and games other children wasted their time on, she spent her free time disassembling and rebuilding broken devices, old radios and CD players and such that she could find or buy cheaply.
Even as her intelligence and skill-sets grew, however, her situation got worse. Her father was fired from his job, and soon could no longer afford to pay the rent. The family was left homeless, and by the time she was in her late teens, Corin's parents had turned to drugs.
This brought them to the attention of some shady people, including a certain drug dealer took a rather disturbing interest in Corin. When the man inevitably cornered and attacked her, she pulled a knife on him, and killed him without hesitation.
That might have been the end of that- but the man, despicable as he was, had friends, who soon found out what had occurred and came after Corin. Unfortunately for them, the girl had anticipated this development and acquired a handgun, which she quickly put to good use. Most were dispatched, and she was careful this time not to leave any links to her- but she botched the last killing, and a man got away, and immediately started calling in all his old favors. Before she could do anything about it, Corin had a whole gang coming after her.
She left home at this point, and went straight to the gang's rivals, who were initially dismissive. When she showed them evidence of her kills, however, they agreed to provide her with some backup, provided she successfully offed people when they asked her to. Corin agreed, and thus began her career as a gun-for-hire, an occupation she quickly turned out to be quite good at.
Since then, she's moved up in the world, acquiring a fearsome reputation and a great deal of money. No longer in the employ of a single gang, she now hunts down tricky targets for those willing to pay huge sums for the certainty of seeing them dead. Her family is all but forgotten- a cocoon left behind as the deadly dragonfly spread her wings.

We've got a pretty good variety... there's fights to the death, fights to maul your opponent so badly they might as well be dead, fights to fight someone just for the sake of fighting, and tournaments.

It's an arena. Should be obvious, no?

I can understand why emotions usually wouldn't show up in a fight. From second to second, a character's focus would be on what was happening rather than what it meant to them personally. Besides, most veterans would have trained themselves to suppress their fear and uncontrollable anger, since those might hinder them in battle.

That said, you can get some pretty cool moments if you let the personal side of things slip in. I remember doing one fight where the two characters were hitting on each other during combat. They flirted, drew closer, and eventually ended up kissing- which one fighter used as a distraction to knee the other in the stomach and then floor them. The two had another meeting later on, which quickly turned into a violent grudge match fueled by anger over the first fight, and ended up being even more fun than the original.

Mom's getting a lot better. I can really for real start roleplaying again pretty soon.
On a side note, I don't recall ever seeing this pokemon before in my entire life: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Leavan..
Like...wat? Does no enemy trainer ever use it? I'm at a loss.

As for the pokemon, it's apparently an evolution (which tend to be seen less often) from gen V (black/white). If you didn't play those games that much, you may have just missed it.

Also worth noting is that this is pokemon 542- and the number has only grown since then. As the number of pokemon grows, the harder it becomes to remember them all, and so it could be that you've seen it, but simply never remembered it (it is a fairly generic leaf pokemon by the look of it).
