Teacher update: I feel like a villain from a cartoon. The laughter of teenagers gives me migraines, and I no longer feel guilt when giving bad grades to kids that sleep through my lessons.

First day as a Biology Teacher tomorrow - hopefully the kids will be able to read my handwriting.
Sorry for not posting CS yet, got a little writer's block right now. Character is about 85% done though, just got a couple of paragraphs of background to do and he'll be ready, probably finish that tomorrow evening. Sorry for taking so long!
@Liotrent Probably both - Near the end of the war, Nick was pretty high rank since he spent most of his life in the military, and Robin's reputation most likely reached him. After all, beating a Mark lll is pretty impressive. They may have shared a battlefield near the end of the war, since both were in service until it ended, but considering the vast difference in their fighting roles (Heavy artillery support and light 'hit-and-run'), they probably never met directly, unless it was off the field.
Personality: If you had to describe Juichi at a glance, most people who didn't really know him would say he is boisterous, animated and arrogant. He demands recognition, and is always trying to show off his strength to others. He seems greedy for attention and respect, often seen when he exaggerates his abilities and feats, along with those of his companions and friends. Despite this, however, Juichi is a man of determination, refusing to give in, no-matter the odds and displaying a high degree of honor. He shows great loyalty to others, even if he has just met them, getting him in more than a few negative encounters. In addition to this loyalty, however, he has an immense force of personality and charisma, which he has developed and uses in order to encourage and train the other Kendo club members. This makes him able to inspire people easily, and he does his best to keep his friends and loved ones constantly doing the best they can.
Juichi will do everything in his power to protect not only every student he can, but also any human he finds in the tunnels. He prefers diplomacy to combat, but his strong moral compass will cause him to take the side of the victim if he finds people being attacked or harassed. Despite his reckless actions and bold personality, Juichi mainly uses his personality as a front in order to help support other people and encourage them to try as hard as they can, as well as a mask to hide his own anxiety and douobts. While he hates that some of the "wild" demons can be aggressive, he recognizes that they are useful tools. Juichi prefers supportive demons that use healing and buffing spells, but is complacent with any. His favorite demon from the app was Alice.
Appearance:
When he got caught in the tunnel, he was wearing his usual outfit: A leather jacket, the shirt of his school uniform, the pants of his school uniform, dress shoes, and his infamous blue sunglasses. Tobei stands at 6'2, weighing about 195-200 pounds of mostly muscle. Tobei is of African-Japanese descent, and is prone to striking poses to complement his personality.
Backstory: Two Moroccan citizens move to Japan in order to pursue their careers, eventually having a daughter, Chinatsu Tazi. Chinautsu later married Ito Nakada, giving birth to Juichi Nakada a year later. From a young age, it was clear that Juichi was meant to be an athlete. He developed extremely quickly, and always loved spending his time outdoors. However, at an early age, he has shown a difficulty at delicate tasks and things that require intelligence, preferring to use brute force to succeed. While this was well and good for sports, he has shown difficulties in the classroom, struggling to keep up his grades. Juichi always idolized Shounen heroes as role models, marveling at how everyone loved them and that they were always protecting people who couldn't protect themselves. Because of this admiration, he soon adopted their over-the-top and meant for comedy personality, emulating it to this day in order to encourage his friends to try their hardest at anything they do. His favorite character and personal role model was Feather Owl of the "Phoenix Ranger Featherman R" Series.
By the time he entered Middle school, his grades weren't much better, but he was far stronger - He had started weightlifting in order to try and get a sport scholarship to a college. He was extremely popular among most of the students, mainly because of his exaggerated personality and impressive charisma. Some students, however, seemed to dislike Juichi - maybe they didn't like that he was always yelling while they were trying to study, or maybe they were a little racist or something. Either way, middle school saw a significant increase in the number of fights that Juichi participated in. Luckily, however, Juichi was one of, if not the strongest person in the student body, and he was always able to repel his attackers. Eventually, he graduated middle school, enrolling into the local high school
Juichi's life continued monotonously, and besides from the occasional scolding for bad grades, it passed without much incident. Juichi, after much deliberation, finally decided on a sport to choose for scholarships: Kendo. In his freshman year of high school, he entered into the Kendo club, rapidly gaining reputation for his impressive strength and natural talent. In addition, since he didn't seem fond of the idea of finding a part-time job, Juichi also joined the Disciplinary committee, viewing it as a way to protect the innocent like the heroes he respected in his youth and accepting that he couldn't become a hero in the real world. Juichi retained his explosive personality, which led to a massive reputation among the student body. A friend of his even recommended that Juichi sign up for student council president, but Juichi felt like he wouldn't be smart enough to manage the plethora of responsibilities that came with the title. As time went on, he eventually made it to his final year of high school. His senpai passed down the title of Kendo club president when he graduated, and Juichi accepted it somewhat apprehensively. He still didn't feel good about being in a position of authority, but everyone else in the club agreed that he would be the best choice. His position in the disciplinary committee didn't really rise, mainly due to his low grades, but he was well-respected for his ability to convince the school delinquents to follow the rules.
Meanwhile, the stress was slowly building up. With higher rankings in both of his clubs, Juichi had barely any free time to himself, and the time that he did have to himself was taken up by his father lecturing him on finding a job and his mother complaining about his grades. Nevertheless, Juichi's personality remained the same, with very few, if anybody, being able to tell that he was severely stressed. While lying in his bed ready to sleep, he decided to check the app store for something to relieve stress and, after searching for awhile, he found it - The Demon summoning program. Despite the strange name, the app itself seeemed to be a game, and there were tons of positive reviews, so Juichi downloaded it onto his phone. He didn't have much time to spend on it between clubs and household chores, but it was doing a good job of relieving stress whenever he played - The game play was addicting, he could conect with a lot of students at school over it, and the games graphics were incredibly realistic, almost too much so considering it was a phone app. Time passed on for about three weeks, until Juichi was called out to Osaki station.
To his surprise, the Kendo club was planning on throwing him a party for winning a recent match against a neighboring school! They said that after they went to a restaurant and ate, they would head to an actual dojo and practice with real blades! Of course they would only be cutting tatami mats, but It still sounded like an awesome time, and Juichi was extremely thankful to the group. Juichi grabbed his favorite katana from his collection (Which he only had because his father was merciful and convinced his mother it was okay), being sure to put it in it's casing and taking his carrying permit for good measure. Just wait until the guys in the club saw it, they'd be super jealous! Of course, Juichi did plan to share. Hell, he took his sharpening stone as well so that they didn't dull the blade and didn't need to use the dojo's katanas. He didn't live near Osaki station, so he would have to take the Yamanote line to make it there. Deciding to waste time, he opened the demon summoning app, only to see that all his demons were gone, vanished into thin air. Before he could comment, the tunnel was encased in darkness as the power cut out.
(I can change or add stuff if anybody wants to tie their characters into his backstory.)
Weapon: As the president of the Kendo club, Juichi owned numerous swords at his home. Luckily, he was bringing his favorite with him to show off to some of his kouhai. He has a sharpening stone which he planned to use to show his friends how to sharpen a blade. Other than that, he's only got his fists.
Name: Nicholas "Nick" Kozar. "The Missile Maestro"
Appearance:
Age: 44
Origin: Northern Frontier
Height: 6'3
Weight: 195 lbs
Backstory: Born in the year 2191, Nick was raised in the underground facilities of the Northern Frontier, regaled with tales of the militaristic might of the region and the iron grip it held over the two other powers. His family was middle class and, like everyone else, relied on the government to hand out food. Childhood was unlike those of the other regions, as Nicholas was never taught about any religion or grown in a good environment. Food was always rationed as tensions rose between the different powers, and his education was mostly combat. He had decided at a young age that he wished to join the military of the strongest power on earth. The Eastern War started and ended with little consequence to him - what the lesser regions did to themselves meant nothing to the cold wasteland. Nicholas was 14 at the time, and the situation was not much better. Food was still scarce, but with the the Therux State weakened from the war, it was far easier to intimidate them to give discounts to the North. 4 years later, Nick finished his education and joined the military, just as the Western Coalition was formed. It was a shock that enemies that were at one anothers throats only a few years ago could become allies, and the sudden combination of their military forces caused a massive increase in enlistment for the Northern Frontier military, one of whom was Nicholas. For the next few years he was trained for combat in the use of a standard Mk II Artillery unit, which he (Like many before him) gave a nickname: "Arachne", after it's spider-like appearance. After training, he spent several years in the reserve, until 2215.
A tower in Northern Frontier territory had been destroyed by Western Coalition forces. The point of the attack and what the structures purpose was were of little importance - The people in the Northern territory were afraid, and this was the perfect moment to retaliate before the Coalition launched a more serious assault. Full war was declared against the Hylo scum, and Nick was in one of the first squads sent out to fight against the Coalition forces. While the Frontier was never able to take any territory, Nicholas did his best to damage as many enemy mechs as possible before he had to pull back. Thanks to his Artillery-oriented mech, he was always one of the first to successfully retreat, making the risk he faced far lower. However, his companions were not so lucky, and constantly losing comrades in the war had begun to wear him down as the years seemingly crawled by. His patriotism was slowly fading, his hatred of the coalition, while still strong, was a shadow of it's former self, and he tries his best to stay disconnected from anyone who joined his squad, out of fear that they would simply die if he cared for them. Despite this, he always cared for everyone in his regiment, doing his best to keep them safe. By 2225, thanks to his extended line of service, his mech had a hybrid generator installed, and he remained in the military. He only grew more bitter as time passed on.
Finally, after nearly 2 decades, the Orio war finally ended in 2232, a truce being negotiated on both sides. Having served the majority of his life in the military, Nicholas was honorably discharged, having attained the rank of general. Seeing the condition of the Northern Frontier, and knowing that there was little he could do to help, Nicholas moved to one of the newer Grassland Towns, considering the prospect of spending the rest of his life there. Despite this desire, however, he still desired the thrill of combat, something that embarrasses him considering so many of his friends had died fighting. Nicholas contacted the Northern Frontier military in 2234, promising to return to combat should the need ever arise. He had become the main law enforcement in his small town, and acted as the main form of guard against the anarchists and criminals that roamed the region. His racism was almost entirely gone, with only a mild dislike of individuals from Hylo. Despite the relatively peaceful lifestyle, Nicholas kept his
Tactical Preference & Skills: Stay as far from close quarters combat as possible, deliver long-ranged explosives as artillery support. Should an enemy come close, be sure to have allies stay away, and launch an EMP missile to stun them while retreating behind allies. If this doesn't work, launch all small explosives and, should this not work either, launch regular explosives - armor should be able to hold against the blast at a close range.
Quote: "There is something you should know about me: I am unmoving, like the frozen glaciers. I have the tenacity of the Northern ice, and I will never give in to scum like you." (He changes what he says depending on the situation, but it usually references the north or coldness in some way. It's basically his catchphrase).

Name/Title: Northern Artillery Unit Mk II "Arachne"
Appearance:
Body & Type: Beast Type
Height: 12 Meters
Weight: 96 tons (With munitions) 67 tons (Spent)
Equipment & Armaments :
Hand Slots: Multi-Missile Launcher: Since the Artillery unit does not possess hands, this weapon is mounted on it's back. Capable of launching up to 10 Laser-guided and/or anti-armor missiles at once, and can store a hell of a lot more. This, combined with the salvo, is it's main form of offense.
Sub Weapon Slot: Sub Machine Guns x2, C-4 x2: Sub machine guns located near the underside of the Artillery Unit, meant to deter close range opponents. While weak, they provide a good distraction, allowing C-4 to be launched from the lowest glowing "eye".
Shoulder/Back Spot: Missile Salvo: Same as the Multi-missile launcher. If both are fired at the same time, it launches a total of 20 missiles, with a staggeringly large range, and takes 10 seconds to reload.
Gadget Slot: EMP Missile, Laser Guidance: Laser guidance assists with making the missiles hit long range targets, and the EMP missile can deactivate most mechs that attempt to make it into close range.
Stats Scale
Light/Heavy Body: 9. Weighing 96 metric tons when fully equiped, the Northern Artillery Unit Mk II is one of the heaviest and most defensive mechs in use, capable of taking anything from bullets to explosions with relative ease. Hell, it can even survive being hit with plasma-based weapons! Of course, this model has it's limits - plasma-based weaponry and explosives can still destroy it, it just requires far more to be thrown at it to take much damage. Additionally, the underside of the mech is relatively weak compared to the rest - while it can still take far more damage the the average, a plasma knife through the underside will probably take it out. This armor's biggest drawback, however, is it's speed - it's walking speed is a pathetic 10 mph, and it's "Flying speed" is a relatively slow 75 mph.
Accuracy & Tracking/Firepower: 7. The ammunition of the Artillery unit is it's strongest factor - anti-armor, laser-guided, anti-air, if it exists, they are probably somewhere in the unit. The missiles themselves are incredibly powerful, capable of taking out most light mechs with a single hit or two. Due to their weight, their accuracy is somewhat diminished, but thanks to the laser-guidance system, the missiles are still able to lock onto targets with relatively high accuracy. Unfortunately, this also means that they can be fooled with flares and other methods of hiding heat signatures.
Air Mobility/Thrusters: 9. The most... "unique" thing about the Artillery unit is it's method of flight. Completely forgoing the concept of maneuverability and grace, the Artillery unit relies on controlled explosives as thrust. While this seems rather idiotic, it is quite ingenious if you think about it - since it is so heavy, explosives are an excellent way to generate the force necessary to fly, and since the mech is mostly ground-based, maneuverability isn't as important. The Artillery unit can achieve a maximum speed of 75 mph and, surprisingly, is very good at dodging attacks - Since it relies on massive amounts of thrust to push it forwards, it can simply fire an explosive in another direction, and it will move out of the way of enemy attacks rather swiftly. Additionally, this method of flight is actually somewhat damaging, but only enough to leave minor damage to medium-sized mechs - and the mechs would have to be extremely close and slow to not move out of the way before the blast. Of course, because of it's size and lack of maneuverability, it will almost certainly lose any air battle it participates in.
Solo/Skirmisher: 7. The Artillery Unit's main purpose is just as it's name describes - it is meant to supply artillery support, staying away from direct combat as much as possible. Despite this, however, the Artillery unit is suprisingly well suited for single combat - Most mechs will try to get close, allowing it to launch a salvo of missiles with little misses. Of course, it would stand no chance against a ship meant for solo combat, and excels at skirmishes.
Flavor Text: Designed shortly after the Mk I type mechs became obsolete, the Northern Artillery Unit is a Mk II-class mech, meant for long-ranged assault of enemy troops. It is meant to mainly remain stationary, and the legs are meant to distribute weight, allowing it to traverse the icy wastes of the North and rough terrain at it's slow and steady speed. It was designed to be almost a mobile bunker, capable of having up to 4 other people in the mech along with the pilot, and is densely armored in order to protect the slow moving mech. The missiles are laser guided in order to help aim, and the explosives themselves can easily rip apart smaller mechs. They saw their most use in the land campaigns against Hylo, able to hold out against the Coalition forces by bombarding them with explosives. Comes with an EMP and smaller explosives in order to deter close range combatants. Nick's "Arachne" runs on a Hybrid Generator, allowing it to function at all times with no need to refuel, and combined with the massive storage of ammunition and nearly impregnable armor, the North Artillery Unit is truly a fortress on the battlefield.
@Dynamo Frokane Do you still get the 8 small explosives if you sacrifice both hand slots for a large weapon? And is this guy okay?
