Haruka Sanegeyama

After heading back to the dorm, Haruka decided not to stow her things away. She changed into her PJ's, a simple pair of shorts and a tank top, and got to unpacking more properly. Some shelves were set up on the walls at her side, upon which she began lining books, some electronics, and most importantly, her figures. Dozens of depictions of heroes, villains, and giant monsters from tokusatsu shows and movies were set up, meticulously posed in iconic, heroic, or occasionally incredibly goofy ways. Most were from high-quality production lines, though the occasional accessory or other mass-retail figure found its way into the shelves as well. It had taken some effort to get everything set up right, but once she had, it looked good.

Her computer had come next, and the desk was swiftly turned into a proper battlestation. The monitor, tower, and keyboard had all been customized with her Quirk, making them especially top of the line. A camera attached to the top of the monitor was of great importance, considering White Hat's homework assignment. Quirk usage in her daily life was pretty common, actually, so she could capture some of the details pretty well. As she prepared to begin recording, she had made special note not to unbox her costume, so the monolithic cardboard remained near the foot of her bed, and some empty ones were left near it for the sake of display.

She cleared her throat and hit record. "This is Haruka. Uh, here's my homework assignment for White Hat-sensei's class." Taking a moment to open a drawer, she placed a speaker on the desk. "This speaker is kind of old. The sound quality's really low and it's just about half broken." To demonstrate, she plugged her phone into it and played some music. The sound, as she described, came out fuzzy and distorted "So I'm gonna fix it."

Haruka activated her Quirk, her eyes taking on a brighter, glowing sheen compared to their normal color, and she moved her hands over the speaker. Influenced by her power, it disassembled itself at her whim. Each piece separated from the last, and the same glow of her eyes washed over them as she made the technology come apart. At that point, she placed another object on the desk, this time a box of extra parts she'd put together. Some were identifiable to the tech savvy eye, but most were entirely built from scratch. She immediately began swapping things out, showing a very broken piece to the camera. With some focus, her eyes glowed more, and the broken circuits began to repair themselves.

After moving more bits around, she reassembled it as casually as she'd taken it apart, plugging it back into her phone. "Let's see how it worked." She pressed play on a different song, which came out nice and clear. With a smile, Haruka unplugged it. "Pretty good. But that's not all."

Her eyes still glowed, and the tall box by her bed suddenly opened from the inside as a metallic fist thrust through the box and then tore its way out. Haruka kept her eyes on the camera, watching as the suit emerged fully from its containment, walked toward her, and struck a Kamen Rider-esque henshin pose. At that point, she half-smiled. "This is my costume. I'll be going in it for hero stuff, but I can move it around with my Quirk without being in there. Sometimes I use it for housework." To demonstrate her point, she had the suit turn back around and gather her now-empty boxes, flattening each one to save up space before stacking them on the ground neatly, to be recycled the next day.

"And that's some daily life stuff. Thanks for watching." She stopped recording and saved the video, sending it over the school e-mail system to White Hat. After that, she took a deep breath and leaned back in her chair, spinning around to look at her costume. "You're the coolest, you know that?" She asked it. It had no AI and thus couldn't really take a compliment, but she controlled it again to make it give her a thumbs-up, at which she smiled. She then returned it to the place it had been stored at before, and looked at the door, wondering when Yukari would show up.

Haruka was pleasantly surprised by White Hat’s opinions of her submission. She didn’t think he would have eviscerated her or anything, but such praise coming from a legitimate professional hero felt nice. That last little bit of motivation to push herself into being more heroic in her own right resonated with her, and she took that firmly to heart. That was why she was here, after all.

Class ended, and she got up to leave and head back to the dorms. Once more, she followed directions hastily scribbled onto the piece of paper she’d been using as a guide all day, thinking about how the space situation would work out. Among her other belongings being delivered, she’d requested that her prototype suit be sent as well. It wasn’t much of a problem to store in her own room, since she didn’t mind having what amounted to a hollow robot stowed in the corner, but she had a roommate to worry about here.

”Shit,” Haruka thought. ”I’ve never had a roommate before. I don’t think I’ve even met them. Oh god. Don’t do anything weird.” She hoped to god whoever she would be staying with didn’t find her collection of weird nerd things to be too much of a downside, but now it was nagging at her the whole way to the dorms.

When she finally reached the dorm she’d be staying in, her paper had been firmly ruined by a vice grip she’d given it, anxiety manifesting physically in the form of a tightly clenched fist. ”Don’t be in there, please. Maybe if I got here first I can just shove some boxes under the bed or something. Oh god, here we go.” Hesitantly, she took the doorknob and opened it, stepping in with her eyes tightly shut.

Upon opening them, she saw her side of the dorm room with a collection of boxes stacked upon and around her bed. One of them was a very tall, vertically stood box, surely containing her costume. She was grateful it had been delivered, but at the same time, felt kind of awful for the person who had to heft the thing in. Haruka never even considered trying to move and store it in such a way. She’d get in and walk it where it needed to be, or otherwise use her Quirk to make it walk around itself. Unless another technopath had been the deliveryman, she doubted they’d had an easy time.

She removed her backpack and got to work fiddling with the boxes, opening them to confirm their contents before scooting them away or relegating them to imprisonment beneath her mattress. The big one remained in place for now, since she could deal with that once her other things had been sorted.

Yukari would slowly make it back to her dorm, taking her time to reach it while enjoying the walk itself. While she thought that Mako was being rather deceiving, she had to admit that perhaps the true lesson today wasn’t trying to act like a villain, but to think like one. It was a slippy slope to be sure, one that everyone was far too quick to jump on. Even Yukari, in her confusion, participated in the villainy after throwing one of the other students at Mako. Fortunately she failed her attack and avoided trouble, if only narrowly. ”I gotta start using my head! Stuff like this is why I’ve had such an embarrassing time so far.”

Once at the dorms Yukari could smell the sweet scent of cookies in the air. It was tempting, but she needed to go back to her dorm and drop off her school supplies. Of course, Yukari didn’t have much to her name. She had some clothes generously donated to her, as well as a few basic necessities like feminine products and such, but unlike other students Yukari didn’t have much in terms of decor or personal belongings. She didn’t even have a cellphone. So she imagined that her time unpacking wouldn’t take long. Fortunately Yukari had been informed of her dorm room number prior to its posting, so she didn’t need anyone to tell her which one it was at. She dorm was labeled with a number, both written and in braille. Once Yukari found her door she slipped her keycard through and entered.

From the sounds of it, her roommate was already here. Soft, yet hefty breathing told Yukari that this was a girl of some girth. Not quite athletics, but not truly big either. Someone on the curvy side. She could hear the faint sound of electricity that didn’t come from just the lights, so this girl must have a computer or other similar electronics. Yukari also smelled rubber, plastic, and some sort of metal she’s never smelled before. She was certain that her roommate must be some sort of techhead. This made the blind girl smile. Technology was an amazing thing. ”Hello! I am Yukari Yozakura. I’ll be your roommate for this semester. Um… Please take care of me.” Yukari said with a bow as she held her cane in her hands.

Getting so absorbed into shoving her belongings into a place of secrecy left Haruka unprepared to hear a voice behind her. She yelped in surprise and spun around quickly, proceeding to lose her balance and fall over in one deft, yet incredibly ungraceful movement. She held herself up with one arm while the other hastily pushed an open box of action figures out of sight, but seeing the cane brought her out of the sudden panic before it got too far. ”O-oh, uh,” Haruka started, pausing for a moment. Yukari, was it? She’d try to remember that. ”H-hey, I, uh, I’m Haruka. Haruka Sanegeyama.” A wave accompanied her greeting for a few seconds before she realized it probably wasn’t going to add anything to it, so she put her hand back down and pulled herself from the floor, her face flushed a fiery red with embarrassment.

She was silent for a few moments, taking all this in, and figured there wasn’t quite as much of a reason for her ongoing panic as she thought there would be. ”S-so, uh, I guess we’re gonna be hanging out, like, a lot, yeah?” A hand nervously rubbed at the back of her head, staying there for a few minutes as her fingers nervously fidgeted with the tie holding her hair back. ”Okay, this isn’t so bad. Calm down. It’s gonna be fine,” she thought, repeating the last bit a few times in her head to try and steady her heartbeat.

[color=bc8dbf]”Hakura Sanegeyama, yes? That’s a lovely name! It’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope we have lots of fun together!” Yukari pumped her fists and seemed quiet eager. Tapping her cane in front of her Yukari went to what she presumed to be her belongings, which were small enough to fit into a single box. Sure enough all she had was a couple outfits that wasn’t her school uniform, plus a pillow, blanket, and personal products. It took Yukari about five minutes to put them all away before she dropped her bag at the foot of her bed and laid down on the soft and comfy mattress.

”Ah… After a long day like this, you know what’ll be nice?”

”N-nice to meet you too,” Haruka said, starting to calm down a little more. She moved a box on her bed aside so she could sit, thinking about how much she’d need to unpack. Her computer was somewhere among the mess, as were various other electronics she’d put together, but unpacking them all would take a while. For now, she decided to put it off, since Yukari was talking to her. ”What would?” She asked.

”A bath!”

Shortly after, Yukari and Haruka would find themselves at the dorm’s bath house, girl’s only. There was private baths, showers, and a public hot tub too. Yukari seemed to have no issues dressing down to absolutely nothing as she washed up, squealing cutely when she turned the shower on and got blasted with cold water. ”Kya! Too cold! Too cold!” Yukari fumbled around with the faucet trying to make the water warm, but the cold water and her own blindness made that difficult.

Haruka was less inclined to be seen without some form of coverage, and in an effort to keep herself from actually dying of embarrassment, she had put on a full-body swimsuit, and a pair of trunks above that for good measure. Even that left her feeling too exposed for her own good, though. She stood in one of the shower stalls, her hair being blasted into water-soaked flatness by a faucet. It was quite a sight, seeing someone so obviously trying not to look completely miserable.

”Y-you good?” She asked Yukari, raising her voice just a little so she could be heard past the faucets.

”S-S-S-So cold!” Yukari braved the icy water and managed to find the right faucet to the the water warm. The water then turned into a scalding hot as she over shot, and Yukari’s screams were a bit different. “Hot hot hot hot!” Yukari was obviously having difficulties, as Hakura could see. ”A little help!”

”Ah, I see. So this is how I die, Haruka thought to herself, closing her eyes as she took a deep breath. ”Hold on.” Stepping out of her own stall, she moved over to Yukari’s, keeping her eyes shut as she stepped in. A bit of hot water hit her on the leg, which caused her to yelp and recoil. ”Shit!” She cursed, eyes opening reflexively so she could see where she was. Almost immediately, her head snapped to the right, her vision locking on the stall’s wall as she scooted around the faucet and grabbed the hot water’s knob. A good twist to about the middle helped keep the water from being skin-meltingly hot, and she stuck a hand into the cone of water to test the temperature until it was comfortable. ”O-okay, how’s that?

Yukari couldn’t help but to rub the parts of her body that was both scalded and chilled, which was mostly her legs. Rubbing herself down made the sensation lessen as Haruka was so kind as to make the temperature more pleasant. It was still hot, but not so blazingly that Yukari couldn’t handle it once she let her body adjust. Turning towards Haruka’s direction Yukari gave the girl a big smile. ”Thank you! After we wash up a bit, let’s move into the baths!” Yukari said with glee as she wasted no time lathering her lithe, thin body with body wash, covering herself in soap. Again, she showed no shame in doing this in front of Haruka. She actually wasn’t aware if Haruka was still there or not and had simply assumed her voice would reach her.

Both to preserve Yukari’s decency and prevent herself from going into severe cardiac arrest, Haruka made sure to keep her line of vision away from anywhere below Yukari’s neck. ”S-sure,” She answered, giving her a futile thumbs up that dropped almost as soon as it had been given. As quickly as she could manage, she returned to her own stall and closed it, taking a deep breath as she allowed her neck to return to a natural angle so she could wash her hair. ”Whoever invented public baths is a sadist and I hate them,” She thought, rinsing suds off her face.

It wasn’t long before Yukari was finished bathing and sitting in the tub. Fortunately for Haruka, the tub’s water was rather murky thanks to the herbal soap that had been put inside of it, hiding Yukari’s features. She had a look of utter bliss as she let her entire body soak in the water. Only her face was above the surface and even that had a nice cool towel on her forehead to give Yukari the pleasant sensation of both warmth and chill. ”Come in Haruka! The water is fine~”

Leaving the stall, her half-dead expression still plastered on her face, Haruka looked towards the large tub. The unclear water was a relief, and she felt much less inclined to move on to the next world upon seeing that. ”Coming,” She answered, plodding over to the tub and taking a seat opposite of where Yukari was. It felt nice, and the scent of herbs was very pleasant to take in. Leaning back to rest, she let out a deep breath and finally relaxed. ”Okay, maybe they’re not as sadistic as I thought. This is pretty great, actually.”

For a while, Yukari said nothing as she soaked in the tub. In fact there was a few times she seemed to have been snoring, as the temptation of falling asleep under such comforting conditions was almost too much for the performer. But she managed to fight off the temptation long enough for Yukari to shift positions to look in Haruka’s general direction. ”Mhmm. Haruka, you do realize I’m blind right?” Yukari said as she tilted her head to the side, causing the towel on her head to fall into the water.

”Huh? Oh, uh, yeah. I picked up on that pretty quickly,” She answered. ”The, uh, the cane, y’know?

”Mhmm! That’s good. Kind of an elephant in the room sometimes, you know?” Yukari said as she dunked her head into the water before rising up a second later. She grabbed her hair and started to run her fingers through the long locks. ”So… As you could imagine, I’m pretty good with my other senses. Hearing, smell, that sort of thing. And I couldn’t help but notice that you’re wearing a swimsuit into the baths.” Yukari had heard an odd amount of squeeking, very similar to thighs rubbing against a full-body swimsuit. Yukari was completely naked and only Haruka was here, so logic dictates that Haruka was wearing a swimsuit.

”Since you know I’m blind and I can’t see you, why are you wearing a swimsuit? Boys aren’t allowed here and most of the girls are out I think. Are you worried I’d judge you?” Yukari said with a curious tilt. It was something that comes up a lot more than Yukari expects. She simply notices that people seem much more self conscious about themselves around her, and she wasn’t sure why. Surely they couldn’t think that she somehow saw something about them beyond their visual appearance? She’s blind, not a psychic. She couldn’t see into their thoughts or anything.

At first, Haruka answered with a simple nod and hummed noise of acknowledgement. It hadn’t been hard to put two and two together regarding the cane. Yukari didn’t seem to be limping, and that back-and-forth swaying motion was a very sure sign of using it to navigate the environment. Haruka wasn’t familiar with all the ins and outs of physical disabilities, but she knew that much, at least. She continued to rest, content to remain quiet for a bit, but another thing came up. Opening her eyes, she listened and peeked down at herself at the mention of the swimsuit.

”O-oh, uh, well, n-no, it’s not you specifically, I just, uh…” Haruka paused, trying to think of how to word her explanation. Severe anxiety was pretty damn rough, but not something she was completely comfortable letting out to someone she’d pretty much just met. Not that Yukari wasn’t nice, of course, she’d been absolutely lovely so far. Without getting too into it, she decided a bit of basic explanation wouldn’t be too much to give. ”I’ve, uh, I’ve got a really, really bad issue. W-with, uh, anxiety, and like, sometimes it makes me get r-really sad, but usually I’m, uh, worried. About, about everything,” She took a minute to close her eyes and take a deep inhale. ”Little stuff helps keep me more stable, and, and I guess this is one of those little things. It makes me feel...less vulnerable, if, if that make ssense.”

”Hmm… Yup! That makes sense actually.” Yukari played with her hair like little brushes stroking the water, slapping the surface as if they were her hands. She seemed to enjoy playing in the water, more so when it was nice and warm like this. ”Hmm…. You know Haruka…. I think I should be the one who’s sorry. I guess I’m just too used to being seen and not seeing others. Funny right? Usually you don’t know what you had until you lost it. In my case, I don’t know what I had all until it’s explained to me!” Yukari was trying to make a joke to lighten the mood, as well as maintain a chipper attitude even if she did feel a bit bad.

”Ah, I guess what I’m trying to say is um… Sorry if I seemed too… Forward? Thoughtless? I um… I guess I’m just so used to this, I kinda expected you do too… Not that there’s anything wrong with it it’s just I forgot and you’re not like me and um… How do I put this…” Yukari started to single further and further into the water until only her hair could be seen floating on the surface. Now she was the one who seemed flustered and embarrassed.

”O-oh, no, no, it’s okay,” Haruka responded, taking on an attempted reassuring tone despite the bit of stuttering in her voice. ”It’s not like you could’ve known about, uh, my issues, and stuff. It’s, like, not really something that shows, anyway, u-unless it starts to get really bad.” She hoped the explanation was satisfactory, but she was second-guessing some of her choice in words all the same. ”I mean, unless someone could...I dunno, read my mind, I guess? Oh god, I hope nobody in this school is a mind reader.”

As harrowing as that thought was, it passed pretty quickly, and she adjusted her seating in the tub, taking a moment to go under before she came back up, her face warmed up by the water. Settling back in, a bit of curiosity struck her. ”So, uh, what’s your Quirk, anyway?” She hoped to god it wasn’t mind reading.

Poking her head over the water Yukari mulled on Haruka’s thoughts. On one hand, she definitely wasn’t all that convincing. But Haruka was trying her best. So Yukari put her best smile back on and sat up in the tub. WHen she asked what Yukari’s quirk was she showed it off but stretching her body up and out of the tub, even holding her hand to her mouth and blowing it up like a balloon. ”I’m super stretchy! My body is like rubber so I can extend it, fold it, or even make it bigger. Heh… Wanna see a little trick?”

As Yukari stood and showed off her Quirk, Haruka’s face went red in the few moments of exposure before she suddenly became very rotund. That was kind of bizarre to see, as many physicality-based Quirks were. Seeing a human body change in that way was more than a little unnerving, but the stretchiness explanation made sense. Haruka had read some comics in the past with fictional heroes that could do similar things, but seeing it on paper was quite different from witnessing it firsthand.

”What kind of trick?” Haruka asked, curious as to what exactly that would entail.

Yukari made a mischievous chuckle as she went back into the water. Bubbles rose up around her hair before Yukari’s head poked out from the water’s surface. ”Get ready for a heartstopper.” Slowly Yukari stood up, and in front of her chest… On her chest was something that wasn’t there before. It was big. It was round. It was unbelievable. But thanks to Yukari’s quirk, she could easily grow any part of her body and morph it into nearly any shape or form she wanted. ”Hehe… Hold your applause, please, because this is just the beginning!”

Haruka was curious, and the very circus-esque announcements amused her. At the sight of what Yukari had turned her body into, she was quite surprised, an expression of some shock coming to her face. She had imagined many things could be done with body-stretching powers, but somehow, something like this had never come to mind. ”O-oh, geez, how much further can this go?”

”Heh, this is just the tip of the iceberg!” Yukari made it bigger, more amazing, almost grotesquely so for someone of such a small frame. However this wasn’t anything unusual to the performer and she has done this plenty of times. Yukari has had satisfied customers each time. As it got more intense the space between Yukari and Haruka shorten until eventually Yukari just had to pop the question. ”Would you like to touch? See how they feel? I promise you… It’s all me~”

Haruka was hesitant, but the offer was greatly intriguing. She was curious as to what they felt like, especially after being upsized to such a degree. ”U-uh, okay, sure,” She answered, lifting a hand out of the water. It was still for a moment, but slowly moved forward and took hold of what Yukari offered her, giving a testing squeeze to see if it still felt natural.

It was certainly natural, and even made Yukari blush. ”Oh my, you’re so gentle Haruka!” Yukari’s soft, tender meat was squished in between Haruka’s hands. Admittedly they did feel very squishy, but the more Haruka squeezed they’d start to feel more firm. ”Heh heh, that tickles~” Yukari said playfully as she inched closer and closer to Haruka. Before she’d know it, her entire body would be engulfed by Yukari. ”Surprise!” What Haruka would feel would be the softest, warmest hug she may ever feel as Yukari was wrapped around Haruka’s body, like a hotdog between two warm buns.

Being fully surrounded in such a way felt strange, but not wholly unpleasant. It was very surprising though, as evidenced when Haruka let out another one of her wordless yelps upon being grabbed. ”H-hey, woah, p-personal space!” She said jokingly, unable to stop a giggle from slipping out at the end. While she was being held, she wiggled around a little, freeing her arms up. She patted at Yukari’s flesh, curiously tapping her as if she were some kind of drum. ”This is neat,” She thought aloud. ”P-pretty comfy, too.”

”Hehe! Thanks! I um… I don’t do this for everyone of course. Just my closest friends and… And well.... I hope we can be close friends.” Yukari said as her smile faded just a bit. Since Haruka was so close to her not, this seemed like a good chance for Yukari to have a heart-to-heart with her. ”I um… I just wanted to make sure you’re comfortable around me, you know? A lot of people see me and know I’m blind and I guess… I guess they just feel uneasy. Sometimes they’re worried about me, sometimes they just think I know something, and you know I’m… I’m just a normal girl. At least I’d like to think so. So… Yeah.” Yukari leaned against Haruka, laying her head against the giant shape she had made between the two of them.

”I hope with this, maybe… Maybe you will be okay with me?”

Haruka listened, agreeing with Yukari’s suggestion. She gave a nod, which would probably be felt considering how engulfed she currently was. ”Y-yeah,” She began to say, smiling a little bit. ”I think that’ll work out. Just, uh, you know, as long as you don’t mind the whole anxiety thing. It, uh, takes a bit sometimes, but I think...I think it’ll work.” Yukari was nice, and taking the time to talk like this had done well for Haruka’s comfort level. But there was still the situation with Yukari’s growth going on. ”But, uh, if you’re done doing the thing with making your hands into balloon animals, I kinda need to get up for a sec.”

”Oh, of course.” Yukari took a step back and undid her arms and hands from their balloon animal forms. On anyone else this would have been multiple horrific broken bones, but for Yukari this was a party trick she could do in her sleep. As she was almost done unknotting her arms, her foot ended up slipping on that towel that fell into the bathtub. She was nearly about to fall forward but on instinct she threw her arms forward instead, right towards Haruka. Yukari barely managed to brace herself against the bathtub before their heads collided, prevent a possible concussion. It also helped that Haruka’s bigger body provided plenty of cushioning as Yukari bounced her chest against Haruka’s chest. ”Oh! Sorry! Are you alright Haruka?” Yukari asked as her face was barely an inch away from her roommate’s.

Upon being released, Haruka was just about ready to stand and stretch out. The water was comfortable, but her muscles tended to get tense if she stood still for too long. It was nothing a little bit of basic stretching couldn’t fix though, and even before she got up, she did some arm stretches to limber back up. However, Yukari’s resulting slip ended up stopping that, and she reflexively lurched back herself to try and avoid what looked to be an incoming headbutt. Luckily, neither of them were smashing skulls today. Though she did wonder if Yukari even had a skull, considering.

Having shut her eyes in the sudden flash of motion that led to her being pinned by her bathmate, she didn’t quite realize how close Yukari had gotten despite the pressure on her chest. ”Y-yeah, yeah, I’m good,” She responded, opening them. ”Are you…?” She trailed off, the closeness of Yukari’s face taking her by surprise. ”U-uh.”

”Hmm?” Yukari smiled at Haruka and tilted her head to the side, uncertain what Haruka was trying to say. ”What is it Haruka? Are you hurt? Is it too hot in here?”

”Not hurt,” She responded, clearing her throat a little. ”Just, uh, n-not used to really close contact.”

”Oh. Ooooooh.” Yukari stepped back, careful not to fall this time. She reached into the water and pulled the towel out and held it in front of her chest. ”Eh heh… Why don’t we head back to our dorm now? I think we’ve spent enough time soaking.” Yukari motioned for Haruka to go ahead, and shortly after Yukari would head back to the changing rooms into her pajama clothes. It was a simple night gown in the form of a strapless minidress. It had a rabbit motif to it. She even had some white bunny slippers. ”I’ll meet you back at the dorms!”
Haruka Sanegeyama

Haruka considered the information given by the other students in their introductions. Acion could fly. That was plenty useful for getting things and maybe even people in and out of areas otherwise hard to reach. The girl who hadn't introduced herself, who was currently sitting in quite the odd position, had electric powers. The 'discharge' comment was interesting. Maybe she could help with electrical generator construction? Maeda was a sheep. Depending on how fast her hair grew, Haruka supposed she could make emergency blankets or even tents out of it, but other than that, nothing really came to mind. Donny could eat anything, which was useful for cleanups, she imagined. And Fumika could make copies. There was an interesting selection here, to say the least.

As White Hat showed them their problems to solve in the case of a hypothetical catastrophe, Haruka memorized them and took the pen and paper that was passed to her. At the sight of the tiny hat on the end, she stifled a giggle. That was adorable, and she hoped they'd be able to keep them after the class ended. After enjoying the little moment of silliness, she got back into the serious mindset of how to fix the crisis. She wrote down the questions on the paper as she answered them, going in order.

"Okay. Let's figure out what I can do best here. Can't do much for draining the place out or evacuation. Donny and that Acion guy would be good for that, maybe. Supply airdrops would be especially good. I can do some heavy lifting and digging people out of rubble and stuff, at least? The train evacuation would be especially good." She recalled her models for air filters that she'd used in her helmet. She would be unaffected by the gas in-costume, and could make rebreathers for the evacuees. Maybe Fumika could copy them to give to others? Though whether they'd work, she wasn't sure. She also wondered if Donny could inhale the gas.

"Hmm, maybe I could fix up the generators and make them stronger. Then that zappy girl could power them up or something. Looters might be a problem, but they're not really the big focus here unless they're hurting people. In that case, all it would take is a good slap to knock them around. People looking for their loved ones should be taken to safety, and information could be given to rescue crews. The buildings are the real problem, though..." Biting her lip, she considered the options. She wasn't sure about the others' physical strengths, and while her costume was impressive, it was just above-average in terms of pure physical output. Besides, with only one of the suits, she couldn't hold up every building. "Maybe I could make some kind of deployable pillar or something with hydraulics? Just enough to stabilize things."

Haruka wrote down her thoughts as answers, albeit taking care to make them far less rambly. When everything was on paper, she set her pen down and looked around at the others for a moment. Even though this was hypothetical, she had to wonder if she'd end up working with this collection of classmates at some point.

Haruka listened carefully as their teacher, White Hat, gave them a welcome. She perked up a little upon seeing him, having heard about some of his heroics. While he wasn't a hero she fully ingrained into her mind, she had a vague idea of his technopathic hero. She didn't think their powers worked exactly the same, though. Quirks were a varied mess of abilities that could be wildly different beneath superficially similar typings, and even two technology-utilizing abilities could branch into extremely different paths. Still, she felt an odd sense of relief and familiarity. Maybe their similarities, small as they might have been, could give her an easier time connecting with him despite the generational gap.

Donny went on to describe his Quirk, and Haruka listened with interest. Eating anything? An odder power, especially since he didn't really mention what it could be used for. But that's what this class was all about. Not everyone had the luxury of a computer nerd dad that Haruka did, nor a Quirk that oh-so-conveniently led to her already having a decent grasp of at least one application related to that. As he explained himself, she gave him a small smile when he sat back down.

Next came one of those other students that had been in the general area around Donny, one who introduced herself as Fumika. The idea of recording things was neat, though the hair part left Haruka a little confused until the demonstration came. Her eyes widened when she saw the copy in Fumika's arms. An interesting application. It apparently wasn't limited to copies of herself either, since she mentioned copying everything she could remember.

When she sat down, Haruka considered waiting until she was called upon or something, but that felt like a lazy way out. Clasping her fingers together, she began to rub her thumbs against each other again. "Come on, just stand up and introduce yourself. It's not that hard. Besides, you've got a leg up on this whole thing. You do things with your Quirk," She thought to herself, self-motivation attempts starting up. "Don't even need to look at anyone aside from the teach. Stand up, start talking, get it over with."

And soon enough, she did just that, standing up and taking a moment to straighten out her skirt. "U-uh, hey," She began, waving awkwardly to White Hat. "I, uh, my name's Haruka. S-Sanegeyama. My Quirk's like techno, uh, technopathy? Kind of." She paused, swallowing a knot in her throat before she continued, albeit with a rapidly flushing face. "I-if I look at something techy, uh, I can figure out how it works. And then I can build a better one, if, uh, if it's techy enough? I've built a lot of computers, and like, c-computery stuff." A decent start, plus a show that she knew at least one thing to do with her Quirk. But up next came her big advantage: her suit.

"My, uh, my costume is pretty cool. I-I made it with a lot of computer pieces and hydraulics and stuff. It's kinda, kinda like a robot I can get inside, and like, fight and stuff with...?" Haruka wasn't sure how to go about explaining its abilities. Surely, they'd see soon enough, but damn it she wanted to have more to it than that. She decided to run down some more of the power armor's basic capabilities. "I-it makes me stronger and faster, when I'm wearing it. A lot stronger. I could probably stop like...I dunno, a car crash, or something like that."

She figured that was enough, so she bowed and closed her eyes for a moment to collect herself. "T-thanks for listening." She sat down and scooted back up to her desk, realizing a few beads of sweat had collected on her forehead. She wiped them away swiftly, and after a few moments, the heat collecting in her cheeks started to fade. "See? Wasn't so bad. Now they know about your kickass robot suit. They're gonna love it. Now stop freaking out."

As culinary class ended, Haruka helped out where she could with cleanup, then proceeded to pack up her own share of the onigiri. It would make for a good dinner later, she thought. Once they were secured in a container, she would put them in the otherwise-empty frontmost pouch of her backpack. Everything was all nicely packed up and clean, and she hadn't gotten herself covered in water or burnt her fingers. In all, this class had been a brilliant success.

As she put on her backpack, Donny bid her farewell, suddenly seeming a lot more nervous than he'd been moments ago. "O-oh, yeah. Til next time?" She smiled back to him, giving a nod once he started to leave. His next class, as it turned out, was hers as well. She opened her mouth as if to tell him that, but with surprising speed for someone of his size, he was out the door and down the hall. "Oh," she said, a little surprised. Oh well.

Haruka left not too much longer after that, following the door numbers to the Quirk Application classroom. She had a good idea of how to apply her Quirk in daily life already, but it couldn't hurt to learn some new tricks. Maybe she could examine some new technologies and learn how to build them, or get a lesson in how to use her Quirk more efficiently for such things. Who knew. Once she made it there, she figured she'd learn.

Inside Quirk Application, quite a few others had already gathered by the time Haruka stepped inside. She listened to the teacher introduce himself as she swiftly started to look for a seat. At a glance, she saw Donny, and considered taking a step towards him before she noticed a collection of other people he was talking to. Her stomach knotted tightly as she realized she was walking towards a group of strangers. "Nope," Haruka thought, stopping a few seats short and trying to sit down as quickly as possible before they picked up on her, pulling off her backpack and plopping down in the chair in a single, less-than-perfectly smooth motion. "Donny's nice but that is absolutely too many strangers at once. Know your limits, Haru. Don't have a damn panic attack in front of them or they'll never let you live it down."

She remained silent, albeit visibly slightly irked at how carelessly she'd almost waltzed into that situation, and focused on what the teacher was saying while trying not to look at anyone else. Teachers didn't make her as nervous as other students did. If she had to guess why, it was their consistency.

Haruka nodded, smiling a little. She was glad to be of help, and appreciation being showed was a lovely feeling. She gave assistance where possible in the preparation with the eggs, which admittedly hadn't been too much just yet. But still, it was helping, and that counted enough as progress for something like this so far.

When given direction to do something on her own, she felt a spike of some feeling flare up. It wasn't quite anxiety this time, she didn't think. Something more like somewhat nervous excitement. "Oh, that doesn't sound too hard," she replied, taking the ingredients Donny gave her. She waited a moment to see how he prepared it, then followed suit, cleaning the fish off before breaking it apart and mixing in the other things. She went for pepper, salt, and just a little bit of some herb blend that smelled nice on the shelf.

"Ehh," Haruka began. "S-sorta? I can make boiled water pretty well," she joked. "Tea and stuff like that, but not anything really complicated." She mostly cooked either pre-packaged or otherwise extremely simple things for herself, which was less 'cooking' and more 'preparing,' when she thought about it.

When the rice was done, Haruka took some and did what she remembered her dad doing with it, shaping it into the proper onigiri shape with some effort to keep it symmetrical. She added her tuna filling to them as she made them, intensely focused on getting their shape just right. She'd come this far, she couldn't bear to mess it up now. "You got this. Just like dad does. Get that triangle shape going," she thought, adding the seaweed wrappings to the bottom once she was satisfied with the rice's newfound geometry.
