Aarika Douglas
Eye of Phoenix
Aarika naturally regenerates both body and mana faster than normal people. Additionally, healing effects from non-innate sources are more effective on her.
Ardent Domination
A constant barrier-like phenomenon occurs around Aarika, rendering her immune to any form of air resistance and increasing her top running/vehicle speeds and jump height.
Additionally cushions a fall from any height, and diverts any incoming ranged attacks.
Lethal Shards
Shards are classified into two states: current, and released. Both shard types are in the vicinity.
Passively summons up to 6 glass shards that Aarika can control however. When sent to target someone from a distance, Aarika releases his control and summons new shards, but a released shard does not immediately disappear until there are 25 shards in the vicinity, including those currently in control. Oldest shard disappears first, causing a small explosion of glass shrapnel.
Lethal Shards - Configurations
At any point, Aarika may consume any 6 shards in the vicinity to craft a weapon that transcends the durability of glass. Shards turned into weapons count as 1 towards the 6 control limit, but 6 towards the 25 vicinity limit. If the oldest shard is part of a weapon, adding to the vicinity limit explodes that weapon, scattering 5 shards towards the nearest available targets. Releasing a weapon also causes a similar explosion of 6 shards.
Possible weapon types:
• A whip-sword that saws through victims with every slice.
• A shield with jagged edges.
• A magic bow that shoots glass arrows when the nock is pulled. These arrows explode into glass shrapnel when their flight halts.
• A deceptively heavy gauntlet with retractable dagger.
• A deceptively heavy boot with retractable shortsword heel.
On paper, this allows for a maximum of 4 weapons and 1 shard, all within her control.
Mirror Domain
Spends all 6 current shards by either ¹dissolving them, ²turning them into a weapon, or ³releasing them to strike the same target at once, any of which sending Aarika into the Mirror Domain. During which:
• Summoning new shards is temporarily prohibited, replaced with the ability to absorb both light and the world's leylines to regenerate both health and mana rapidly.
• Aarika leaves behind a near-transparent glass clone that tethers her to the Mirror Domain until it's shattered, in which case sending her back to reality at any location of her choosing, within the glass clone's line of sight. Aarika can control the glass clone to do anything, including shattering itself.
Reversed Shattering
Consumes ALL shards in the vicinity to strike at a singular target, slashing through everything towards the target within a parabolic trajectory, and exploding into glass shrapnel when they're no longer able to slash any further. Automatically sends Aarika into the Mirror Domain upon activation.
