Name: Strix
Race: Reborn
Class: Artificer
Background: Sage
Personality Traits:
- I feel lost and alone in a world that is constantly slipping from my sight and grasp.
- I bury myself in my work, studies, and research- anything that can last for longer than I will.
- I continue to search for something that will relieve me of my silent pain.
Bonds:
- I resent my creators for bringing me back to life in the way that they did.
- I feel trapped by the promise I made to a loved one, to never give up on life, no matter what.
Ideal:
- Aspiration. I'm going to prove that I'm worthy of a better life. (Any)
- Free Thinking. Inquiry and curiosity are the pillars of progress. (Chaotic)
Flaws:
- I try to suppress any feelings of attachment that I might form to the people around me, as I know they'll never last.
- In fact, I find it difficult to care about anything at all.
Personality:
Strix is a very pensive and reserved person, somewhat cold in her approach to solving problems and dealing with issues. She's quite intelligent, having spent most of her life in an extremely prestigious academy, though she struggles with social interactions, being stunted in that regard. She's quite inquisitive, always being interested in accruing as much knowledge as possible, being attached in a sense to her books and secrets as a way to cope with her fear of attachment to others.
Backstory:
Strix was once a normal human girl with a normal family and a normal life. But when she met an untimely demise, she was brought before a prestigious academy in hopes that they could mend her back to life. And in the end, they succeeded, turning her into a partly-mechanical, not-quite human entity- but alive, alive once again.
Things were fine for a while. She continued to live alongside her family, though she was now mandated to study at the academy as part of her debt. However, as the years passed, she found that her new body no longer seemed to age in the same way that those around her did. Slowly but surely, her loved ones passed on, whether from accident, disease, slaughter, or simple old age.
In the end, when her last loved one lay on their death bed, they made her promise never to give up on life, to keep trying to search for anything that could keep her going. And even now, years past that point when she can barely recall those faint memories, that promise sticks with her, until the very end.
