Current I'll be gone for about 3 weeks as of 18/06. I might see your message, but I also probably won't be keeping up like I usually do.

As someone who lost a parent before their time... It's never a bad time to give your folks a call and see how they're doing. One day you're going to say goodbye for the last time.

I think it's also just a sad fact that forum RP has been undergoing a slow but consistent decline for the best part of a decade now. Games that once would have thrived can no longer get the numbers.

NRPs are also usually advanced level with tons of writing per post. I co-GM'd one that ended up being the length of one and a half LotR books. That not only takes time, but also makes them fragile.

Bought Helldivers 2 because of the online hype, didn't expect that much. Ended up putting 5 hours into it on my first session. For Super-Earth and Managed Democracy! Oorah!

@ClocktowerEchos Very true, but they did make fireworks fast, and when you're under attack constantly by dragon-sized creatures, big explody things would be handy.
@ClocktowerEchos They know it explodes. They know things caught in explosions go flying. Sending bad things flying at people they don't like is perfectly valid.
We'd probably specialise in making boom powder cannons.

Step one: Make a barrel using whatever.
Step two: *CAREFULLY* pour boom powder down barrel.
Step three: Take matchstick and jam it into boom powder.
Step four: Place ball bearing into barrel.
Step five: Light matchstick. Run like hell.
I imagine opening up firecrackers for 'boom powder' wouldn't be too hard.
@Drakey

Sure! I imagine they'll basically be dorfs rather than gnomes. Solid, difficult to break machinery that has function prioritised, rather than looking pretty or not being loud as shit.
Well, he was sure now. These were not anyone he had ever seen, which meant that they were likely not mercenaries. This meant that they were indeed talking bullshit about being mercs... Which in turn meant that he needed to find out why they were here, and quite possibly try to dissuade them from doing anything too drastic here. If they were to actually try a direct assault (unlikely since their numbers was rather small, but a vanguard was possible...) then his cover would likely be broken here. He needed to slip one of them a message discreetly. He just hoped at least one of them was literate.
Got an idea here:

A group of rats that have, instead of using existing areas within the mall, found loose brickwork, etc, and are masters at not only genuinely mining for raw materials, but also tearing bits of old tech apart and building crude but effective tools and machinery. Perhaps they could even subcontract to @ClocktowerEchos

They actually look quite cute.
I'm juuust saying, but most spiders wouldn't be shit to a rat.

Still, I'm interested. A race of builder rats!
@Hekazu

Yes. Hence sleepy by by and not kill, and doing it in such a way that nobody sees what's happening.
