ATTN: @PaulHaynek
Upon being told that Boss Kyouko would be pleased if they helped out around the place, Umami and Ripcord were off like excitable rockets; looking of anyone that needed any kind of help. For a while, they would only find people that needed help with basic chores - sweeping, laundry, and the like - or held transporting items via cart and by hand from place-to-place within the place they called home.

Despite apprehensions, the sisters looked Human enough to bypass consistent judgment - the residents were apprehensive of them, but could be swayed by their friendly charm and upbeat personalities.

...never to be wise to the dog and pony show they played to be fed.

In truth, they didn't care about anyone or their problems. They worked for Boss Kyouko, and she cared - that would be enough, surely.

They only cared about themselves.

They needed to eat.

They needed to drink.

They needed to sleep.

They needed a place to live.

That required a job, and that's all this was.

No different than before in Varjo.

They worked to live. They lived to work. The cycle was vicious, but they were veterans of surviving it...

However, odd jobs were nothing special, nothing worth promoting, and Boss Kyouko would surely never praise them for such insignificant tasks.

They needed to do something... big.

By time night was falling, and everyone was retiring to their beds, the only person around was a man at the foot of a bonfire, warming his hands.

"Need a hand getting inside, mister," Ripcord asks, approaching with her disarming air of kindness.

"Yokai, you must do something! It's Ayane's sake brewery in Imahama. That brewery is the pride of Shizuyama, but soon there will be none left. The Varjans are taking it by force."
Peasant Man

Varjans.

Their old taskmasters.

So soon, it's come to this...

"Rippy! If we save the sake house, Boss Kyouko will be able to have sake with every meal! Breakfast! Lunch! Dinner!" Umami says, eyes sparkling, "Even dessert! Sake Sno Cones!"

Ripcord gasped, eyes wide as she imagined it:

"Boss Kyouko... we saved the sake house... and... well, ma'am, I'd like to present you with the fruit of our labors..." Ripcord says, done up in her Sunday Maid's Best, and holding a silver platter. "From the Ayane Sake House, I, Ripcord Claremont, present to you: Sake Sno Cones! Umu~!"

Ripcord unveiled the trio of cups, shaved ice with a soaking of sake, and fruit juice that stained it red, like the ribbons shared by her and Umami's ribbons.

"My, oh, my... how precious, Lady Ripcord..." Boss Kyouko cooed, as she admired the platter with a thoughtful finger, "But, there's three here. Surely, that's too many for me..."

Umami would splay her fingers apart before her, pressing her pointers and middle fingers together in a diamond, before wagging her hips like she had a tail. "Maybe, we could share them with you, Boss Kyouko..." she offered, innocently. "If you like that, umu~!"

"That sounds lovely, Lady Umami," Boss Kyouko smiled, a dazzling force of personality and praise. "Let's eat, then... together. Umu~"

Ripcord and Umami swooned, as they lean against each other in reality, "Boss Kyouko..."

"For praise!" Ripcord cheered.

"For praise!" Umami agreed.

"RIPCORD!" Ripcord threw her right fist forward.

"UMAMI!" Umami drove her right fist forward.

"CLAREMONT CLEAN-UP!" The sisters fist-bumped with right jabs, and created an actual impact SFX and small explosion of air pressure.

"LET'S GO!" The Claremont Sisters charged off in the indicated direction of the Ayane Brewery.

"MISSION START! UMU~!" Boss Kyouko cheered, waving twin paper fans like a MILFy Cheerleader.

ATTN: @PaulHaynek (Takeshi & Sorae)
Alice was pretty satisfied, as Takeshi approached, and offered her a hand to stand:

"Not bad. Is the jingle necessary?

You can't drink tea from there. Come on, time to enjoy the fruits of your labor."
Takeshi

"Don't hang around many spellcasters, do you? And, I can drink tea anywhere," Alice smirked, displaying that conviction that Takeshi remembered, as well as that soft-spoken poshness. She was different from her last appearance, but her vibe was the same.

"This is magic from Wonderland, one of the most terrifying ones out there. Partake, and you will be lost forever."
Sorae

...and, so was her temper.

"Humans, so unchanging, three-hundred-years of holding a sword to guide the lost, to defend the weak, and bring home and hearth to the desperate in need..." Alice says, standing up, before the softness evaporated from her voice, "Yet, there's still people like you, the vocal minority, that thinks they speak for the whole; the rabble-rouser, the troublemaker, the problem..."

Alice raised her arms, "LOOK AT YOUR VILLAGE! LOOK AT YOUR HOMES! LOOK AT THEM, AND ASK YOURSELF THIS..." she glared at Sorae, "How long would it have taken you?"

Carroll sighed, as she nibbled a tart, "And, she's on her soapbox..."

"Months? Years? Tell me, noisy woman, where's your hammer and nail, where's your measure and saw, where's your brick and mortar," Alice asks. "All I see from you is fear-mongering. Speaking lies as if they were truths. You know nothing about my home, about my people, about the Humans, like you, that live aside Mamono, like me, in the satellite villages, away from hatred and segregation," Alice crossed her arms, "Something you seem well-versed in, this blind racism toward, and segregation of, Human and Mamono, from what we were to what we are. Ignorant that this change might be one that some, like me, never asked to happen, but live with to the best of our ability..."

Alice shifted, "My ability... I have been hailed as a ruling Queen of Humans, a guiding Monarch of Mamono, and binding, as I was once as Human as those that wore my banner, just as I am as Mamono as those that fell under that banner to be free..." Alice cleared her throat, voice softening, "I have seen more dreams fall to your hatred than minutes you've been alive. I have seen more live tore asunder by your segregation than slices of bread you've held," she steeled her gaze, "You speak of becoming lost, yet your words only drag other down the same evil path as you."

"Tell me! As me, what evils have I aspired to enact upon you, what tricks have I chosen to play upon, what cruelty did I desire when casting my spell," Alice asks, motioning around, "Hate me, if you like. It will not change the reason I threw this party," she pointed to the villagers, "I threw it for them. The people that are grieving, mourning, in need of treacle, tarts, tea, and, most importantly, cheer - not fear."

Alice huffed, and turned her back. "So, do what you will, say what you want, but don't make decisions for them," she says, "As long as I am here, I will fly my banner above this village, and defend it as if she were my kingdom. As the Queen of Diamonds, this is my promise," Alice looked back, "And, yes. That includes you and those you bring into your hatred. I will make sure there is always tea in your cups, tarts on your tables, and a sword in the gut of those that threaten you."

"Stand by me, if you like," Alice says, walking away, "or, don't. I won't make decisions for you."

Hands in her pocket, Alice would head off for the area where she was sensing warm water.

"Well, then..." Carroll sighed, munching her eighth unfinished tart, "That's "first impressions" out of the way... I didn't want to be talk of the town so soon," she grumbled, as she set the half-eaten pastry on the table beside her; it had been eaten to the center, dried of all filling, and left as a dry C.

ATTN: @PaulHaynek (Kitchen Staff)
This won't do at all," Ripcord says, looking around the... shack that was being excused as a kitchen. "This won't do at all..."

"Rippy, we have to clean this mess up..." Umami says, clenching her fists like a begging puppy, "Rice alone is no meal for Boss Kyouko!"

Ripcord nodded, snapping her finger, as her punkish attire morphed into the very atypical maid attired of a maid, and pushed Gnash into her chest, before retrieving a broom. "I'll start sweeping up. Mami, you start mapping the location, and restructuring the storage."

"Umu!" Umami nodded, as her hair grew out wild and a pair of thin, triangular ears erupted from her head, as she transformed into a Werebat. Thrusting herself into the air, Umami would sonically chirp at the ground, as she flew around in a few circles.

As Umami made her laps, Ripcord was speedily swept without a dustpan nor leaving a mess behind; her slime absorbing the biodegradable material into her through the broom. Humming, as finished, stowed her broom away, and Umami landed behind her - whispering something into her ear. Ripcord nodded alone, before punching her right fist into her left palm.

"Genius!" Ripcord says, before lifting her dress and running over to the head chef in her dainty heels. "Indeed! You are correct! We are newly minted members! We serve Boss Kyouko, and have come to repair, restore, and revolutionize this kitchen! Umu!"

"Umu!" Umami parrots, transformed into a Weredog, wagging her tail wildly. "We're ready to work! Rice will more than do as payment! We'll take meat and veggies for raises!"

Despite the fact that there were two Mamono standing before him, he could hardly help but see two young women with sparkling eyes in need of a meal and willing to earn it through hard work.

ATTN:
There were three things you needed for a successful party:

1. Food.

2. Drink.

3. Atmosphere.

Now, Alice could easily handle the first two requirements with whatever she could find lying around. As long as she had water to boil and bread to serve, she could make a small tea party out of that. However, Terauchi Temple was in pain, in mourning; she'd suffered, and needed a proper party.

For that, Alice would have to break out the big guns.

Marching from end to end, then from corner to center, four times over, at the center, Alice would remove her hat, and set it on the ground.

"Ahem~"

Alice cracked her fingers, before squatting down, and touching the ground, "Let's see... mourning... celebration... A somber atmosphere, reserved and safe..." she says, eyes closed, "I understand. You take the safety of those within seriously, don't you, Terauchi? I'll bring their smiles back. I'll throw your party..."

Alice opened her eyes, glowing with a magic; wild, wonderful, and wicked, all the same.

"Invites, invites, o' send out the invites,
Promises of joviality and sublime delights,
Send them, send them, to the gutters and to the manors,
Tell them, Tell them, to the paperboy and to the planners,
Deliver them, whisper them, well into the nights!

So, so worrisome, these crying eyes,
So, so, troublesome, these broken ties,
A party, a party, I bring, I bring,
A party a party, I'll sing, I'll sing,
With treacle, tea and tarts, I'll try, I'll try!

A sober day has come to past,
A sober day with designs to last,
Away, away, I pray, I pray,
Away, away, today, today,
Away, away, this gloom, I cast!

And, so I say, I say...

Callooh... Callay... O' Frabjous Day..."

Alice closed her eyes... and, so it was.

Insidiously, yet explosively.

Subdued, yet overblown.

Soothing, yet invigorating.

Magic flowed from her hat, from her piece of Wonderland, and herself, and washed over the damaged village; from the ground, rubble rattled and prattled, jumping and bouncing, before finding itself, and making itself whole again. In waves, the magic washed over the village; repairing; restoring; rebirthing - from the smallest silverware to the largest building, from the earthen cookware to the wooden furniture, from the finest ring to the simplest sock.

In all things, a little joy returned and grew, until it was whole and hale.

As new as the day it was made.

Followed by cups and cups of treacle, tea, and tarts; to soothe the mourning, grieving bellies, minds, and hearts.

A far and wide party, yet it was all quiet and calm.

Standing, Alice returned her hat to her head.

"Now, then... let's party," she says, tears running down her cheeks, "Everyone's invited..." before she fell on her ass, and flopped onto her back, "I'll take my tea, now."

"Tch~!/Hrm..."

Taking in the sights of Terauchi Temple, the former mafioso, ex-cleaners, would evaluate everything, and, as they did, the collective would start to introduce themselves...

However, there was no established hierarchy, beyond Lady Kyouko being The Boss, and their assigned mission to rendezvous with the Taskforce was accomplished, and without orders to stay put, and with only Takeshi and this Vară character - both of who reeked of bureaucrat, and not warrior - introduced, the Claremont Sisters decided to to take a self-guided tour of sorts.

Dropping to all fours, Umami took off like a bolt, while Ripcord, rather easily, followed her lead - or rather, her nose. The first stop on their tour was the kitchen.

ATTN: @AzureKnight (Xashan), @Hammerman, @Silverstein, & @Rune_Alchemist
There was a mounting pressure, as Xashan dragged the two women back to Eon Tower against their wishes and wills; using his position of seniority to make an executive decision for them in the field, regardless of how they felt. Throughout the return journey, they'd been making their escape in cahoots; speaking to each via their Espermancer connection with their Third Eye. Playing docile, Scarlett would bloat a fine mixture of iron and copper dust into her scarred arm, while drawing blood and moisture out of the flesh and muscle; leaving a fragile, desiccated arm from the elbow down.

As she finished, she would tune back in to notice that the witch she'd met so long ago was starting to depart, and Xashan was distracted by some walking pound of flesh. Both parties opened their Third Eye to coordinate, as Lupina stuck out her hand to shake, and Scarlett seemed to reciprocate - only for her mummified arm to tear off at the elbow. Part of the plan, Lupina would shriek, and toss the arm up; silently summoning Baast off the end of her fingers to bark at it, and send it towards the ceiling.

Scarlett would cackle, as the arm cracked on the ceiling, and point her blood-gushing stump at the failing cloud of dust, as her arm shattered, and scattered. At the same time, she summoned Milli within the disguising font of blood, and had the grass snake spit a teeny ball of fire into the dust cloud.

The very explosive dust cloud...

The explosion would mask their shouts, "Milli!/Baast!" before the Spirit Animals engulfed them in the chaos of the sudden detonation, and flew off with their keepers in their mouths.

Not shackled by terrestrial movement, and unbound to the conventional means of flight, the two serpentine summons would swim through the air, back to their incomplete mission.

More than likely, Xashan knew where they were headed, and could direct Roze to give chase with her own flying summon. However, they both had to prioritize the explosion, first. Even if it was fully calculated by Scarlett to do the minimum amount of damage - more flash than bang - it was still going to take time to get through the ensuing paperwork in the form of incident reports from Xashan and Roze to the eyewitness accounts for Lanus, Renee, Haase, Leon, and the newcomer, Giselle, and whatever other various bureaucratic measures would crop up that they were counting on to keep the two from being chased immediately.

As they soared through the sky, Milli's mouth would open, as she saddled up beside Baast, and Scarlett looked over with her arm wrapped by her underwear. "Not bad acting for a sheep," Scarlett says, as she sat cross-legged. "I almost believed that shriek was real for a moment."

"I could say the same for a human," Lupina says, laying back in Baast's tongue like a warm bed. "They won't take kindly to insubordination, y'know."

"Technically, the mission is closed yet, so we're still on task as given," Scarlett says. "Xashan didn't even entertain our suspicions..."

"Admittedly, that did piss me off. Dragging us off like that, without even looking into anything, and for what, a public squabble," Lupina scoffed, "Honestly, it wasn't even that deep. Just banter between women. We better hurry, though. We're on a clock."

The two looked at each other, and nodded in sync, before declaring:

"No secrets allowed before the Apostles of the Maiden Abyss!"

ATTN: @PaulHaynek (Ian)

Deciding to leave everything behind, Alice with Carroll quietly deserted the recently-besieged Terauchi Temple to pursue their personal goals. Nary a farewell to their fellow taskforce members nor to Takeshi Oja, save for Shizuka Kannazuki who saw them off.

The knight in with the rainbow armor, Ian North, was their key back to the realm of Wonderland. The rainbow knight had the signature energies of Carroll’s sisters imprinted on him, which made him likely aware of Alice and Carroll’s situation. However, they had no idea where Ian was and they last saw him in that port during their previous quest.

So that was where they went. A slightly different route, however, landed them in a ruined village of burned down houses and devastated survivors who were mourning their dead or gathering their belongings. Surprisingly and coincidentally, Ian North was here. His western, rainbow-colored armor was noticeable even from a distance. He was in the middle of the village, sitting beside the settlement’s stone well and tying rope together.

Well, well, well! Short time, no see, Your Majesty!” Ian greeted Alice and Carroll, while the other survivors in the village continued their businesses. “On your way to another mission? That was pretty quick. I would’ve bet money that you’d take some time to rest for a while after your last mission.

"Let's go," Alice says. "You didn't linger here out of any concern for this village," she says, "Odds are, you were just waiting for us to arrive. After all, you didn't offer to take us home out of the kindness of your heart."

Alice settled her hands on her hips, "I'd ask what you stand to gain from this team up, but I don't care."

Ian stopped his weaving and stood up, unamused at Alice’s tone and demands. “I don’t know what horsebull you think I’m doing or wanna do, but I’d stop assuming if I were you.” He crossed his arms. “Now what’s this about a team-up? Where are we going? I may know you, and I know your sword’s sisters, but that doesn’t mean I can read your mind.

Alice narrowed her eyes, "Assuming, am I? Though, the offer was yours."

Leveling her sword, Alice would transform Carroll into her crimson form, and point at Ian. Her tolerance of the rainbow knight was null, as it was, but the fact he was acting like he hadn't pulled her aside on their return journey was pissing her off. It was nothing short of the fact he was the best lead to home that kept her from running him through.

Alice was short on patience; the last fragment burned by Kerry. In truth, it was mounting pressures and that had been the cracking blow, but what little patience she'd summoned up, Ian was dangerously close to cracking, selfsame as the Hornet had.

"Hrm..." Alice groaned, before sheathing Carroll, and rubbing her temples. "Did you lie to me for your own twisted amusement, or can you actually take us to Wonderland," she says, "Serious answers. No more games."

Ian never reacted at Carroll being pointed at him but let out a sigh at the question. “Ah, so that’s what this is about. Well, good news is I can take you there. No problem, easy-peasy.” The rainbow knight said. “But are you really going now? What about the taskforce? Err, I suppose you don’t really care about them. What about Takeshi? And your fling with Shizuka? Your debt to Lady Kyouko?

As he asked those questions, though, Ian pulled out a small pouch and began pouring its contents into the well: Some sort of pink-colored sugar.

"If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't be here," Alice says, "As to the rest, why do you care? That so-called Taskforce... my first memory of them is being surrounded by them, assaulted by magic, and then chased by their wild boar. Takeshi, Shizuka... they mean nothing to me... just a Human I used to recharge, and another that recharged my sword..." she paused at Lady Kyouko, before looking up, hands behind her back, "Debt? I don't recall any debts. I was fine with dying in that fire. It was her that made the decision to save me. I didn't ask..."

Ian was silent for a moment before giving a shrug. “Well, so long as you’re sure.” The rainbow knight then took a look at the bottom of the well which was now giving off a pinkish glow. “Yep! That’s about as ready as it can be.” He remarked before returning to address Alice. “Alright, Your Majesty. One jump into that well and you’ll be back home in Wonderland.” Ian said. “I’ll follow you in once you jump. Keep in mind that this is a one-way portal so if we wanna head back to this plane, we’re gonna have to look for another way. Well, you’ll have to look. I have my own ways but we’re not close enough for me to share that with you.

Just jump in once you’re ready…” The rainbow knight finished. “...and without regrets.

"What regrets could I have for abandoning them..." Alice asks, dropping her soft lilt and sense of majesty. Rolling her eyes at Ian’s implication that he was just free and clear to hop dimensional borders at-will, Alice would vault over into the well; she could be taken as overly trusting, but, honestly, she was fine with whatever the outcome was...

...even if it was death.

ATTN: @AzureKnight (Naomi) & @Frozen0Titan (Damien)
They say, "Confidence is a silent killer," as Damien attempted to translate the fusion of Human and Fae Languages, run through a cultural filter, twice over, and recombined into its own Tongue. However, the wall would be sudden, as the words were written in Serpent-tongue, an uncommon Belua Language, which meant he'd to solve the cypher that was the language of snake Belua that was overlain upon the conlang spoken by the creator of the message, before he could even translate the separated to guess into full words.

...and, even then, he would come to the realization, the base two languages were being used as a double-fake cypher with a substitution cypher hidden in each alphabet, and translating into gibberish, so it would seem, as the only word that came true to his tongue was: "Milli".

If he wanted to truly read anything else, Damien would need to shop around for other linguists.
