Current Jenny Nicholson's four hour takedown of the failed Star Wars hotel is the most entertaining thing Disney Star Wars has provided in seven years

Train isn't a real band, it exists just to be played softly in clothing stores or the few malls that still exist in America. You can't convince me otherwise. RIP to the bassist though.

Discord really did ruin everything, now people can't even air their grievances publicly like the good lord intended

The real status bar drama are the friends we made along the way.

I started playing WoW again because this quarantine has left me with nothing else to do but subject myself to a skinner box of azerite.

also because the experience boost is lasting until shadowlands pre-patch which for all i know is fucking never
There is a continuum. I don't even know what Naturo(sp) is

Hell neither did the author.

Zing.

<Snipped quote by Penny>

does that imply that there is a harem of harry potter androids or is it a VR harem of various harry potter ladies

This is RPG, any Harry Potter Harem will be the Marauders and Snape and possibly even Tom Riddle for some reason

and y’all are being ridiculous with the status bar and your assertions.

On Roleplayer Guild? Why I never

I don't think there are as many Lewds as people make out.

There aren't. But people have a tendency to post about lewd interest checks in the status bar which is like advertising for your competitor and not even getting paid.
Penny for your thoughts?: What game/story thing/etc. do you wish had a better fandom?

There was a time when I would say Nier but that monkey paw has curled thanks to an abundance of thirst patrols and one android in a leotard. So instead I'm going to say two novel series I enjoy and wish they had the same treatment as like a Game of Thrones or a Westworld (meaning, like, a Netflix or Prime or Hulu original adaptation at the least). The Honorverse series by David Weber and the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson. Honorverse is some real good sci-fi ass sci-fi complete with bulky ass naval spaceships doing war games and political scheming between planets and systems and all that good shit. Malazan Book of the Fallen is just some fantastic world and character building that starts small in scope but expands outward and is one of the few high fantasy things I like.

Now for my question:

I once spent about $400 in a mobile game. No, I won't say which. But that leads into the question: Have you ever purchased something and immediately regretted it?
Maybe it has but when I open 1x1 it's like Isekai Kink RP or Mommy enslavement Harem that mostly dominates the section itself. Some people have LEWD original ideas, but not the OG SFW ideas us normal folk enjoy

You eventually find a way to weed that out and a good rule of thumb is if someone puts '18+' in the title and then tries to say that it's because they want to RP with someone closer to their age, 80% of the time it's because it's lewd o' clock.

But also people who want to do lewd RPs are fine, let people RP what they want
I don't think it's quite fair to call a fandom RP unoriginal; plenty of fandom RPs are just more of an excuse to tell an original story in a world/setting that is familiar. Sure, call it an excuse to skimp on the world building or whatever but it's still at least telling a story that is new to that environment. Fandom RPs also have the benefit of attracting like-minded people, because someone who might be a bit on the reserved side sees something familiar and people who enjoy that and boom, that's how friendships form.

Original RPs still exist, but many of them either don't get attention/off the ground or flounder shortly after launching for any number of reasons. People are drawn to the familiar, but at the same time some people who make original RP worlds or settings forget to make it attractive to the audience be it by putting a tome of information in the interest check or showing a lack of confidence in the ad or what have you. Roleplayers are often creative people, but creative doesn't perfectly equate to 'an abundance of original ideas'. Even the best original concept RPs no doubt borrowed inspiration from somewhere, because that's how creativity works.

Originality still exists. But if people discount RPs set in fandom settings or because they don't like a genre then they might not find that it's still out there. It's like when people complain that the only movies being made are blockbusters. Sure, they're all over the place, but if you're just looking at one thing you're missing a dozen others.
