When you have to disable a new 'advanced' search to get proper search results and learn that 'advanced' means 'AI'. Let's rename it artificial superficiality, short 'AS'. Not to be confused with...

I'm slightly proud of myself having overcome my hate for indoor spiders a bit over the years. In my youth I often eliminated them, now I carry them outside in a jar. Spiders here are harmless though.

Believe me, if they could, the entirity of Southern Germany would send you all the rain they had over the last couple of days. I'm just not sure you'd actually want the widespread destruction.

Finally managed to catch the mouse. Our cat must consider me the most incompetent person of all times given how she watched instead of helping. She dragged the problem in though!

Bio

Welcome to my profile page!

Who the hell is this person behind those many miles of fiber optics and copper cable ?

  • I'm a 34 year old guy.
  • ... who's working as a software developer
  • ... and enjoys roleplaying as a casual hobby to distract himself from ongoing stress

And into which hell will I descend with you participating in one of my roleplays?

  • I'm a fantasy addict: medieval high and low!
  • I'd consider myself to be a low casual roleplayer, 3 paragraphs per post on average.
  • My schedule varies. It might happen that I won't be able to post at all for a week, but then again it might happen that I'll reach a sweet spot inside which I can go on a posting rampage. I'd say one can expect 1-2 posts a week from me, depending on the lengths involved.
  • English is not my native language, but so far I've not encountered anyone who had had trouble with me over that :)

Want to RP with me ? Shoot me a PM, but don't shoot me!

Thanks for visiting!

@Darkraven I think I speak for the majority, if not even everyone of us, by stating that you have enjoyed a very great deal of patience and politeness especially from our GM, but also from the rest of the crew. Be it claiming that basically none of us would have enjoyed good education but instead be a bunch of people who can't do better than talking maliciously about each other in secrecy without addressing the person being referred to directly without any evidence (did it cross your mind that the words 'do it in privacy and not in the OOC' might have been meant in a way that you shall talk WITH the person in PMs, not about that person with other persons ?) or basking yourself in glory for how innovative ways of character creation you know about (irony on! While it happens that you're the one for whom a human character apparently wasn't sufficient enough so you went for a more than 2000 year old powerful demon pretending to be one, irony off!) while harassing other people and not making any visible attempt for an apology while going for a ton of public shittalk.

And yet you keep going...

If you conntinue to do this I'll see myself forced to express my player's desire for you leaving this RP immediately, either voluntarily of by force. For a reference about the scope of 'this' check the first paragraph of this post or an arbitrary paragraph of your last couple of posts. You know what I mean!
<Snipped quote by The Fated Fallen>

You're taking too much credit for yourself. It's obvious that I'd singlehandedly scared him off.

Way I see it though, we didn't lose much. That guy views frickin' human beings as boring despite it being shown countless times that humans work. As a result, he'd be very limited not just in character creation. And when I brought it up he throws a hissy fit and stomps off? Not a trait I'd want in a fellow role player.

Sure, I wasn't being very flattering, but c'mon, I have no idea how else to say it - I'd even tried previously to show the amazing things you can do with normal people. In any case, he needed a wake up call. The truth stings, even when it's given out with the best of intentions.

If you think I'm harsh, others would have thrown him right out and showered him with salty vitriol and vulgarity. I was being kind when I went with the metaphorical euphemism.

But that's never enough isn't it? People just want to hear what they want to hear. That everything is fine and dandy and they're perfect.

In any case, I got my suitcase and hat at the ready in case I got kicked out for this. Won't be the first time. I'm a Raven for a reason. Caw!

*just shakes his head in disbelief*
I've dared to completely ignore the prospect of being kicked out of this like a torpedo out of its launch tube and instead have collected my strength to make an audacious post! Nobody should have the right to say that I went down without flying colors!

I'm trying to be humorous...
All things considered -- it wasn't exactly going well for An-Hasst. The vote he himself had initiated had pretty much backfired onto himself. Chances that they would indeed spend a more or less considerable amount of time on investigating this dragon issue were high and the Skayleigh didn't have any plans of not following suit. The case just didn't allow for this. The only thing that was somewhat soothing his remorse was that the vote probably had shortened their stay here by breaking through the ongoing bickering. Or were it the horses which were bringing in this superb atmosphere of departure ?

It should have merely been a quick turnaround, but once more the half-elf-half-giant's view became stuck the moment Jezebeth's figure had unintentionally crossed its center. Apparently Settionne had done a good job with assembling her armor. It seemed to fit her body as perfect as a plate armor possibly could and certainly was an impressive thing to look at. However, if he was completely honest to himself, the thing even more beneificial than knowing that one wouldn't have to worry much about her in a fight was that the steel was almost completely hiding her beauty. It just was so difficult to not look at her otherwise... Something told him that the priest already was deeply trapped in that pitfall and he had on plans on doing the same thing. Definitely not! On the other hand the mere fact that an excellently armed, proficient Andred warrior had joined the team did make the Skayleigh feel both uncomfortable and agitated at the same time.

The more attentive onlooker would notice that their Skayleigh companion now and for the first time in quite a while tightened up his armored cloak. An-Hasst was using armor made out of wool, leather and wood meant to provide protection against attacks and harsh weather at the same time. A thick cloak that went down from his shoulders to a height barely above the ground. The almost black scales were in stark contrast to their user's pale skin, but in terms of protection they were only midly inferior to steel while offering an array of benefits in other areas.

Even having pulled up the hood that was part of his self-made protective equipment, the Skayleigh approached the elven commander. "I'd like to thank you for the horses. I hope we can make up some time." He even bowed a bit in front of whom could be considered his half-fellow-countryman. Then he turned his attention to the horses that had been brought in. It was the part that he became honestly worried about the fact that being light couldn't exactly be counted among those benefits of his wooden invention. It would be the task of the elvish blood flowing in his veins to save the horse from collapsing immediately. The problem was that while he was -- hopefully -- light enough for his own idea not falling back onto himself, he certainly didn't look like that. After all his body was almost closer to eight feet than it was to seven and 'bulging' was a bit of an understatement when trying to describe the amount of muscle he had been building up over the last decade or so. At least he wouldn't have to worry about any saddle being a fit too tight for his thighs. Still the horse didn't appear to be anywhere near happy with him sitting on it and neither was the Skayleigh who was faced with the prospect of his dangling feet digging through whatever kind of high grass they were going to encounter.

From his now elevated positon, An-Hasst signaled his mount to turn around using his legs. It seemed that Alice was dealing with a bit of inexperience while Settionne was nowhere near the danger of having to do the same thing since the man appeared to be at a complete loss. He would have helped him for the sake of not loosing more time, but he didn't see a way how his mount could carry another man as well. "Sett ? Why don't you go with Alice ? Or with me if you really have to."
@The Fated Fallen
That indeed is a problem I'm often struggling with at character creation. However I often try to counteract this by going on and making the character I would like to play, even if it contradicts common expectations.

However... I'm probably not a good example for what to do best. I like playing beings who are.... semi-friendly undead, gargoyles, barbarians, rogues who give a damn about speed and agility (Assassin's Creed cliché *waves*) and rather work with elaborate traps and devices. Or in other words: It could have been far worse than with An-Hasst's sometimes a little loose mouth.
@FetzenYou can wait until you feel up for it. I always give extensions as long as people let me know why they need it :)
I'll probably give a post this weekend to introduce @Sypherkhode822 though. If you wanted to get a post in before the next few days. If not, we can just have Ann-Hasst ride on a horse for a bit if that is cool.

Feel free to push An-Hasst around as needed in case I fail before the weekend, I've complete trust in you and don't want to break down the RP just because I'm currently broken down. My Skayleigh on a horse must look absolutely hilarious.
@POOHEAD189 Don't know when to get my post in. I'm ill and staying at home, so main brain feels kinda drained. How much time do I have left ? :)
OR I make a Drabarian character here instead of Mercenaries so he'd definitely have a THIRD opinion to offer since he has some draconic heritage himself...

@The Fated Fallen I think you've got An-Hasst's point a bit wrong. His opinion is that there is no proof for the dragon to be a vital objective for their mission so they should not spend a lot of time on it. And actually he tries to escape from the vicious circle you described by the power of mathematics: A vote.
