Phew! Sorry for the delay. I had some trouble formatting everything, since the site doesn't seem to fully support BBCode or HTML. Anyway, I hope you all like her! :D

Brief History
The daughter of a concert pianist and a conductor, she ended up mostly raised by her aunt and uncle, since her parents couldn't bring an infant with them on tour due to their busy schedules. She first lived with her parents during the time an ordinary person would be in elementary school, when they took her with them on another tour around the world, forcing her to learn from private tutors and online courses. By the time she got back to Japan for the last two years of her schooling, she felt like a complete fish out of water. Without any real social experience prior to this, she ended up sitting on the sidelines of her peer group for the next two years, as her classmates misinterpreted her quiet demeanor for arrogance, as if she was trying to announce that she was somehow better than them just because her parents were rich. After being bullied due to this misconception, she talked her parents into filling out the paperwork to transfer her to a school in Umitori to get away from everyone who knew who she was. They agreed, since they had an apartment there which they weren't using, being on tour once again. So, living ostensibly under her parents' guardianship - but actually all alone save for the weekly visits of her aunt and uncle - she began her Junior High schooling with the stated goal of going completely unnoticed by everyone. She was polite to her classmates, but never interacted with anyone if she didn't have to, so that they wouldn't find out about her family and bully her again. Just to be extra safe, she stayed home as much as possible, shutting herself in to escape the outside world. Emotionally, she took up escapism through reading shoujo manga, delighting in the sappy boy-meets-lonely-girl stories she found there and wishing that she could be like that, too. She also took up socializing-by-proxy, starting up a blog where she shared pictures of the city and talked about her daily life. Sure enough, nobody was interested, which put her in a funk for a while, until one day, somebody started commenting, praising her favorite places as "beautiful" and offering her support when she was feeling sad. She doesn't know who this person is, but thinks of him or her as her first friend, since they were the first person to be nice to her. Whenever she's in trouble, she consults her one online follower, asking what she should do in a given situation.
It was in this situation that she found herself when, one night, on the way home from school - she'd been left alone on cleaning duty and was thus late returning - she found herself stopped by a small floating girl who offered her a way out.
"You want to help people, right? You want to make everyone happy, to make them proud of you, right? In that case, why not join up with me?" The girl said, smiling kindly as she offered Kyōka her hand. "Nobody has to know who you are. Nobody has to know about your life. But if you save them, they'll love you all the same. Isn't that better than being lonely like this?" Kyōka thought it over, and then nodded silently at last.
"Great!" The Fairy said, fluttering up to pat her gently on the head. "My name's Ariel. If you're okay with it, then I'll make you a Magical Girl!"

Miscellaneous
The magical circles formed by Kyōka's push and pull abilities look something like this.
A literal translation of the kanji in her surname would be "Shield Mountain," while the name Kyōka is written using the Kanji for "Mirror" and "Flower Blossom."
Miscellaneous OOC
If anyone wants their character to secetly be Kyōka's online friend, be my guest. Otherwise, I'll write them as an NPC.
