Current Talk to your players and be open to their ideas, at the end of the day we're all just here to shoot the shit.

Honestly, more structured/collaborative roleplays can be really fun and rewarding, but if you're going to open a project like that up you have to be flexible and open to compromise.

But god knows how many hours I've sunk into my collection of main series Pokémon game, so it's like making me pick between my children. :'D

I mean, I write MUCH more Digimon-related stuff than I write Pokémon-related stuff, so I guess it wins by default in this context.

ok just wanted to be sure

as you were
@tobiax r u alive and do u have anything about a post 4 me
After watching with interest as the other trainers received their very first Pokémon, Charlie’s attention was straight back to Apple as she continued her address; he couldn’t help but feel a little uncomfortable as Apple brought up the possibility of battles along the way, though that faded quickly enough when she mentioned her assistant’s experience and Lynda enthusiastically vouched for her own skills. It seemed she wasn’t exactly a beginner after all, though he was still curious as to why she was only receiving her first Pokémon now.

But once again, he didn’t get long to dwell on those thoughts; it was only a moment after one assistant was mentioned that the Professor called the other one to attention, and Charlie turned to see B offering him a bag of supplies.

“... Thanks.” He did his best not to stutter; he couldn’t help but remain feeling uncomfortable around the one-eyed man, but besides being genuinely grateful for the contents of the bag, he wasn’t going to give him the chance to get another dig in at him.

After that, the topic moved to their first actual assignment; and that was when his interest was piqued. Besides housing a certain dumb rock, Route 20 was an area known for high levels of spectral activity, enough that wandering off the beaten path could lead to someone being lost for hours as the forest seemed to warp them randomly about itself; if someone as experienced as Wulfric-one of the longest-serving Gym Leaders in Kalos Region history- was reporting something out of the ordinary in the vicinity, it had to be something worth checking out, as the Professor herself was happy to point out.

“So, um- did he mention anything at all about what was out past Route 20?” Whilst Sully took the chance to thank Apple- which Charlie made a mental note to do again in a moment- Charlie instead decided to ask about the assignment itself. Maybe there were one or two details that Apple hadn’t thought prudent to mention, but the main thought that entered Charlie’s head was- “Isn’t there a Pokémon sanctuary there?”

Lynda looked up as Apple began to speak once more; and Totodile looked away from her to check out the rest of the Pokémon assembled with the group, looking around with quiet interest as they met their new trainers.

“Yup!” Totodile flinched as his trainer reacted enthusiastically to Apple’s reference to her battling skills; she sure was a lot louder than the little crocodile had hoped. “Feel free to ask me for tips and pointers whenever you want!”

The conversation continued on, and Totodile lost interest despite his best efforts to keep up. There was only so much the Pokémon could do to keep up with human matters, and it wasn’t as if he was entirely disinterested in the other Pokémon.

Axew, Ralts and Spheal all seemed to be cut from the same cloth; Totodile had only seen the other starters from a short distance back at the lab, so this was his first time encountering them too. The first impression they gave was a uniformly pleasant one; they all seemed happy with the trainers that had chosen them, and they also seemed to be tame and well-mannered.

The only visible standout was the Poliwag. The smile on the tadpole’s face didn’t suggest anything in the direction of not being tame; but Totodile hadn’t failed to notice him blowing raspberries at his trainer when her back was turned.

Then again, with a trainer like that, the Poliwag was the lesser concern. Totodile wasn’t sure what to make of his own trainer yet- she was certainly enthusiastic, if nothing else- but he felt a reasonable deal of relief that the other girl hadn’t picked him.

Besides Apple’s Aron and B’s Unown, that just left one more Pokémon...

… Who was seemingly nowhere near his trainer.

Phil’s assessment of the other Pokémon was similar to Totodile’s, in a sense. Ralts, Axew and Spheal were tame well-mannered; so none of them were of much interest to the little Ghost-type at that very moment. It wasn’t that Phil wasn’t interested in them, but they were too caught up in greeting their new trainers to pay much mind to him or otherwise show off; so he’d moved on quickly from each of them, his presence barely perceivable.

The cheeky little Poliwag, however, was another case entirely.

Curious about the little tadpole, the Gastly drifted slowly along the ground towards him, letting off an inquisitive hiss as he watched the other Pokémon roll about idly. It wasn’t quite a kindred spirit he was sensing in the Water-type, but there was definitely something more familiar about him; after all, that had been a rather impressive raspberry he’d let rip at the girl when her back was turned.
Aight, sorry for the delay; posting for Charlie, Phil, Lynda and Totodile in a bit.

Actually, aside from trading, it's the only way to get a Scyther in the region.

See why I have it marked with a question mark now?

I thought that was because [SPOILERS] :p
Alright, now that I'm done with Fresher's and everyone's caught up, I'll see about getting something out for Charlie sometime today.

@AtaxiaIV Yeah, sounds about right for when I was planning on picking those two up; only possible anomaly I see on there is Mia's Scyther, if only because it might be too powerful for that early on in the RP (though that's up to RBY, naturally). Everything else sounds reasonable enough as a suggestion.
i swear to fuck i go to sleep for like five minutes

@tobiax I haven't got an issue with Rodendramon being super-powerful, but I'm going to assume for everyone's sake that him being as powerful as Alphamon EM/Examon Prime is just you getting your wires crossed. Unless you can give me a compelling reason he'd be anything more than Omegamon-level (which does include Examon/Parasimon Mordred, Dorugoramon, BanchoLeomon RM et al, just in case that got lost along the way?), I'd appreciate you keeping him around that level for the time being.

And I can understand you being frustrated, but Moon is basically the moneyshot of the RP and a chance for everyone to tie off some emotional/character loose ends before teaming up to be awesome one last time. If you want something to do, ask me and I'll help you sort something out, but for now, think about things that Jordan and Shrewmon could see in the MIND FUCC that could make up a couple of posts before motivating them to break out?
“What are you doing?” Examon roared out to be heard over the chaos, but the volume of his voice couldn’t mask the true feelings beneath it; he was confused. Whatever his past, Parasimon had proved in the last day that there was legitimate- no, in fact absolutely terrifying resolve lurking beneath his unstable surface, and he’d sworn to fight tooth and nail alongside them to beat back this final threat to both of their worlds.

just a timely reminder to y'all what the real otp of convergence is

i'd tell them to get a room but they already have kids
Examon threw himself to the side on instinct as the otherworldly screech of Moon=Millenniummon cut above the roaring winds it was calling forth; and found his caution immediately rewarded as the airspace he’d occupied previously was lit up with powerful discharges of energy and light, immeasurable quantities of destructive force bearing towards him as the initial assault failed.

If the worst came to the worst, Avalon would hold off the attacks long enough for him to recover and get back into the air, so he just spat out a curse and kept moving forwards towards the gigantic crystal in the sky. With a powerful beat of his wings, he beat back the smoke and fog that closed in on his field of view, coming within range of the docks overlooking the bay. He saw Parasimon standing just out of the range of Moon=Millenniummon’s barrage, his own Avalon deflecting whatever stray shots fired low enough to endanger him; for whatever reason, the abomination seemed to have no interest in attacking the Hazard Knight, and neither did the Hazard Knight seem to want to take up arms against the abomination.

Parasimon didn’t respond. Examon snarled in frustration and tucked his wings in to pick up speed and fly under a particularly vicious torrent of firepower-

“Examon, get up! We don’t have long before they come back with reinforcements!”

And as his eyes clouded over and he came crashing down to the ground, he saw exactly why Parasimon had been frozen in place.

As the assailants all stopped or turned away as they came within range, the rain of destruction stopped; the air growing silent but for the screaming and howling winds and churning of the waters in the bay.

At the center of the vortex, the red lights within the crystal- the eyes of a silhouette forming within- narrowed and intensified as they glared about the entire area enclosed within the maelstrom.

In no uncertain terms, time had come grinding to a stop everywhere but within the enclosed space. The very moment the being at the heart of the chaos willed it, the regular flow of time would resume; and it would seem as if something indescribably terrible had emerged from the ruined heart of Tokyo in less than an attosecond.

Cast into unfathomable, all-encompassing pain by the very nature of its patchwork body, and released too soon, Millenniummon had been a mere beast. Dreadful power that outstripped the Sovereigns themselves, power that could have been shackled to bring both worlds to their knees; but placed in the control of a mindless, frenzied brute that soon fell to the teamwork of lesser beings.

Within the crystal, two new lights emerged from the silhouette, blinking and glaring out as the other two eyes finished their sweep of the surroundings.

Even whilst it had yet to achieve its true form, Moon=Millenniummon was everything that its previous form could have only hoped to be; all the dreadful power of Millenniummon and more, and the intelligence to make use of it. A true consciousness had formed within the spectral mass, neither human or digimon; rather, an amalgam of both that would have both worlds at its disposal.

But until the Proud Destroyer took form, that goal could not be achieved. The gathered humans and Digimon, weak as they were individually, remained a threat united; without the power to strand them in time, Moon=Millenniummon had to play a different card. Their consciousnesses would be set adrift within their own personal timelines; before them, every moment of their life and every possibility for their future would be laid bare before them, stretching out into infinity like a sea of memories. No human mind would withstand such a deluge of information for long without warping into madness; and equally, no human would be able to see the countless futures where they failed both worlds and countless others without slowly succumbing to the hopeless despair of their situation.

So, both eyes closing as the final obstacles it would face were swallowed up by their own minds, the crystal began to suck in the scattered data and power from the gigantic area of reality it had claimed for its cocoon. And the terrible red and black mists spread out over Tokyo, swallowing up everyone and everything that could only watch in fear as the waking nightmare proceeded.
