no they dont. from the bottom of my heart, im telling you, people dont just ghost to ghost. they arent sitting there thinking "haha i made him so excited for this rp im gonna ghost him now so he's upset"

I'll answer these as best as I can. I don't think I need to reflect on a pivotal decision I made at all. I feel the only thing i made to have people literally take swords and pitchforks at me like how Shrek got early in the movie was express my frustration at how bad my RP luck is and anything I tried didn't work or stick at all. people dont owe you anything, and that's something i think you need to reflect on. people ghost for a reason. not saying you are an unpleasant person, but that the root of your problems dont lie with ghosting - it lies with why they ghost

When someone puts effort into their interest check, often they will put effort into the RP itself. A good check shows you are willing to put in that effort.

honestly its not super hard to make something "approachable". I'm not the authority on aesthetics, but some people do like my aesthetics (others dont but acquired taste or whatever), so my general tips are:

> have a header with the title large above a centered image that represents the roleplay; image height shouldnt be smaller than 250px or taller than 700px

> break your information into sections and have a header smaller than the title above it (i typically have premise (where i give the story bit), setting, ooc information, and rules)

> use some varied color. nothing is more offputting to me than a block of white or a block of xyz. pick a color, make it the color of your headers and title, and either leave the rest white or color it gray (my preference)

thats really the bare minimum i look for when seeing a roleplay idea. it doesnt have to be impressive, it just has to be dynamic enough that i dont start to glaze over when i read

@BangoSkank You don't have to use mine, but i figure to at least answer it.

Success for me as an Rper is when I know I can have long-term ones to actively enjoy and also having the interest for what I like at least to know my desires and opinions on things can be met with equal opportunity as wanting my effort to making a thread to pay off and feel that sense of accomplishment that something has gone either my way or said person's way for a change.

You'll always be chasing that sense of accomplishment, dude. Not to be blunt, but it's not gonna come. RPs rarely conclude. If you want a community, to find like-minded people, then go into group RPs that most likely have discords. Discuss things with them.

Not to brag, but I think my roleplay Descension is fairly successful. It has lasted several months and, even though there hasnt been a post in nearly a month, people are still chatting and interacting in the discord. I don't plan on letting it die, once my finals are over I'm gonna double down and keep the momentum going, but even if it did I'd count is as a success. I had fun, my RPers had fun. That's the whole point of this - fun.
