A little bit about my preferences

Good morning, day or night to you – depending on where in the world you are. Probably USA. Everybody on this site seems to be from the USA.

Ground Rules:

Grammar:
I L O V E good grammar, well-built sentences and good coding. If you write with headlines, centred or subbed text, colour coded dialogue, a nice balance between speech, thoughts and description I will never let you go. Ok? You're mine now. Although nobody's perfect and we all make mistakes every once in a while. That's fine.

Writing style:
I try to write in a way that let's my partner know what my character is thinking (to a certain degree) and gives them something to play off. I can't stand replies that are just descriptive and gives me nothing to build on.

Don't overdo IRL hobbies:
Using your passions and hobbies from IRL is great, but please don't overdo it. Example: If you're super into cars – that's fine. You can use your interests in the RP or make your OC have the same interest. Just don't expect me to necessarily share the same enthusiasm about cars. It's cool to bring in stuff you know a lot about, if presented in such a way that even a person with no knowledge on the subject can understand. Don't write me five paragraphs about what car engine you have and how you plan on changing the gear pack or whatnot in full detail. Rather, you should come pick up my character in your car and then teach me how to change a tire – together.

Google is our friend:
If I write something you don't understand, try to google it first. I have no problem with explaining things, but in many cases, you could probably figure it out just as well with a quick google search. Don't make me do your work for you. Of course, I will try to write in a way that either explains or lets the context explain if I bring up something specific.

Replies:
My schedule has become busier at the new year, so now I will only be able to answer once a week at most. Sorry.

Shared workload:
I want a PARTNER, not a leech. I expect us to share the work 50/50, and contribute to both the planning and the RP on equal ground. The same goes for me. If you feel like I'm not pulling my weight, tell me! Communication is key to everything good.

Genres:
I'm most accustomed to the slice of life genre. Although I am very open to other genres such as fantasy, science fiction, a specific time era, etc. As long as we can discuss the world building together.

Congratulations on making it this far down in the post. *Applause* Now, if you're feeling it thus far, just ask yourself one more question: Am I mature enough to tell it to somebody straight that I'm not interested in this RP anymore, for whatever reason? If yes, continue reading on A. If no, continue reading on B.

A.
Huzzah! I can't tell you how glad this made me. There are few things that's worse than getting properly invested in an RP, only to be left behind a few weeks later. No note, no nothing. It's a waste of both our times. But YOU'RE not like that! Pat yourself on the back. Good human. You've been raised well.

Details:
I'm up for either a long RP or several short ones. Let's figure out details together.
We RP over PM, with one IC chat and one OOC chat.
I really don't like are one-sided characters. Meaning: Super submissive, shy and embarrassed characters who only stutters, or super macho, dominating testosterone machines. I like the characters to be dynamic and have multiple layers and sides to their personality.

Ideas:

I am H O R R I B L E at coming up with plots. But I'm good at playing second fiddle and will try to contribute to a good story. Sorry, I'm just kind of lame like that.

Mad Max: Fury Road
I LOVE this movie. Seriously. It makes me so happy. I'd be interested in either doing a fandom inspired RP, or an OC RP just set in this world.
I mean, look at this dork. Too cute.

So yeah, that concludes the tour. I will update this if I think of anything more to add, obviously. If there's nothing to add there's nothing to update. Duh-doy.

Been meaning to ask: What's up with the character Katrina?
@Rabidporcupine First of all I can't unsee my typo from last post where I tagged you as Rapid- instead of rabid and I find the mental images this brings me too funny and I am aware my humor sucks.

Second: I'm cracking up imagening poor Joseph creaking about in that damned suit.

Third: I came across some Parks and Rec gifs that I feel sum up Joseph pretty well.

@Furiosa

Hey, how is the Red King’s Profile coming along? Do you need any help?

Just keep us updated!

I’m so sorry about the delay in the profile. Busy with exams. I have a general outline for him, so I’ll try to put together a quick bio on him and eventually just do it more thoroughly later, if that’s alright.
@Akayaofthemoon@Majoras End@AngelofOctober

Clearly one of us has to change. I would've been good to take on the role, too - though only if nobody else turned up. (We may also have lost Furiosa... they haven't checked in yet. The Red King, I'm not so sure about myself playing - I'm not good at being a 'bad guy'.)

I’m still here!
@Furiosa

You better post or there's gonna be consequences. ;-)

Seriously though, you have plenty of time. We're keeping this skip open for a long while.

Well. We running Friday night to Sat morning so you can join in and arrive later on.?

FUCK THE PAPER - REN WANTS TO DANCE DAMMIT. Huzzah! A post has been made!
Solaris University, Study Hall

Wednesday, noon

@Shard

Ren was slightly taken back by the quick reply from the guy in front of him. "Touché." He shifted his weight on the chair, leaning forward while raising his brows. "Someone like me? I find most people to be a bit of a bore to be perfectly honest with you, so yes - I don't see why you should be an exception. The guy looked at his phone and mumbled an 'oh my god' just as Ren's phones buzzed in his pocket. As he pulled it out, the screen read father. Ugh great. What does he want.

"As lovely as this little... Whatever - has been, please excuse me." He said to the young man as he got up and walked out of the library. He was expecting this call to last for a while - it usually did. Concisting of several scoldings about Ren not calling enough, worrying his mother and dissapointing his father. All that fun stuff. He walked down the hallway, noticing a poster from the SCPD hanging on a billboard - looking for details about some guy. Ren didn't stop to read it thoroughly. Not his problem. After finding an empty classroom he sat down, quietly listening to his father's complaints, answering shortly from time to time how his studies were going, if he was eating well, etc. etc. After what felt like ages, his father finally hang up. Feeling a headache on the way, Ren texted William to come pick him up and was soon on his way home.

Riverside, Ren's apartment

Wednesday, evening

Only Ren's eyes were visible, peeking out from an opening in the blanket he had wrapped around himself. The apartment was dark except for the TV screen casting shadows on his pale face. He was watching an old cult classic called Return of the Living Dead. It was from the eighties and was just as tacky and awful as that would imply. Ren loved every second of it. As the ending titles rolled over the screen, he stood up and stretched his arms above his head, yawning. He should get ready for bed, but perhaps some tidying up of the place was in order first. His books and pieces of paper were strewn across his dining table, some had even fallen to the floor. Maybe I should have accepted a maid like father suggested… Rolling his eyes, he grabbed his bag and started shoving books inside.

"That's weird- where is…" Ren looked around the room. "Aah, you've got to be kidding me." He had forgotten his library card and the book he was supposed to borrow at the library when he left to answer his phone. Sigh. What a bother. I don't have any more classes this week either. Hopefully it'll be there on Monday.

Riverside, Ren's apartment

Friday morning

The alarm buzzed too loudly and too early for Ren's liking, even though he was the one setting it. He groaned as he pulled the covers over his head in a poinless effort to deaffen the sound. Oh right, today's the day of the City Hall Winter Ball… Could be fun? Naaah, maybe. Just five more minutes… Ren hit the snooze button and sleep found him once again.
Ok I am seriously considering to just send Ren on a week long vacation or something because I don't seem to find the time to multitask between my IRL paper that's due in a week and RP.

But I want to participate in the winter event so bad! So I'll probably manage somehow.
@SgtEasy

I love the eccentric, banana-eating man in your signature.

The coffee pot, Wednesday morning

@Rabidporcupine@Poi@Jay Kalton@Shard

Ren chuckled at Joseph's reply to the doorbell comment.

"Glad to hear you're not completely disconnected from the modern world."

Ren looked at Joseph in disbelief as he engaged in a conversation with a stranger. His face was a mix of emotions and he seemed to be struggling to get his words out.

"Way to reveal our secret identities, moron. What if she's an evil villain?" Ren decided to torture Joseph some more by dragging out the awkward conversation - he was after all somewhat responsible for bringing up the superhero subject and now it was time to take responsibility. Heh. Joseph's sudden outburts made Ren follow his stare to behind the counter were an asian woman was pretty violently nudging the coffee machine.

"That seemed like rather unprofessional behaviour. Oh well, as long as the customers get's their coffee they're happy… But yes. I have been to the City Hall myself. You just need to cross Heart Bridge to get there. There's a bus that stops just down the road you can take to get there." He spoke in a bored voice and stared out the window on purpose just to not seem too friendly. Ren wasn't particularly interested in engaging with another stranger today - raccoon boy was more than enough, and Ren wasn't sure even that was worth the trouble. People are so tiresome. Ugh. He wasn't the best at socializing himself but he was unable to blame it on anything other than his own stupid fears of being rejected. Better to push people away yourself than to be rejected after making an effort.

"Is that all? I have another errand I need to attend to, so I'll be going then. I feel like I've done my service as a good citizen by helping this hobo get back on his feet. Good karma better come my way now. Maybe you can take him from here." Ren avoided to use the term wanderer on purpose to taunt Joseph one last time before he left. The last part was meant for the young woman that had approached them. Olivia it seemed. Ren did not like to be the fifth wheel on the wagon and decided this was his cue to leave.

Solaris University

He was dropped of at the university by William, his chauffeur. There was a book Ren needed for another paper that he'd forgotten to rent last week and he'd figured he might as well use that as an excuse to leave the café. With long steps he strode into the library, heading for the biology section. He found his book with ease as he was rather familiar with that shelf. Ren stopped for a moment, pondering. The cold loneliness of his apartment did not tempt to return to at all. Instead he sank down on one of the large tables used for studying at. With a sigh he opened the book and turned the paged to the right chapter. The paper's subject was otorhinolaryngology - everything related to the ears, nose and throat. A subject Ren found rather repulsive. Rolling his shoulders, Ren straightened his back and looked around the room. There was an even flow of students coming and going. Several groups were seated on the many different tables, heads bowed over heavy text books or computers. His eyes landed on a rather meek looking boy on the opposite side of the table from himself. He was hunched over a notebook, pen eagerly scribbling on the pages. Is that kid old enough to be here? Is he lost? Ren was unsure if he should ask if he needed any help finding somebody, but decided against it. Nope. Enough strangers today. Not my problem. Ren told himself. The kid did have a brick of a book laying next to him though. Suddenly Ren just couldn't help himself…

"Hey kiddo, if you'd like, I can help you find the children's section to get a more suitable book for you?" A rather fake, too bright smile was plastered on Ren's face as he spoke in a patronizing voice.
@Rabidporcupine@Poi
I'll probably get a reply out tomorrow. Also - @Shard, will Winter just hang around at the library all day? I'll get Ren to head over there after the City Hall thing if so.
