I have added an example character sheet on the Characters tab.
@Classpet Please remove the part about how your wings are immobile when the temperature or above or below a certain temperature threshold. Instead replace it with information on your flight speed and agility. (e.g. are you average in speed given your power? Faster? Slower? How good are you at changing directions?)
Other than that you're golden! Sidenote: If we don't get very many players I'll probably just join myself and play as the Cutter Leaf.
Appearance: Seloph is a small insect with large red beady eyes and a thin proboscis over its mouth about one-fourth of his body size in length. His six black legs and main body are a dark brown. A green carapace resembling a leaf covers its back and all six limbs. When dehydrated the carapace appears to dry out and wilt. The edges of the carapace are thin and sharp, and are quite capable of cutting through tougher materials with only some difficulty.
Personality: Seloph is just like all other Cutter Leaf’s, however he is prone to becoming nervous or unsure of his skills when the odds are stacked against him. He has some difficulty trusting other species, but to those he does trust he trusts them heavily.
Species/Sub-Species: Cutter Leaf - Gatherer
Species Biology: Cutter Leafs are predatory insects that stealthily hunt after their prey lying in ambush. They prefer other insects as their main source of food, especially those that are meaty and juicy. They do not care at all for plant material, though they do tolerate plants with a bitter flavor, even if only slightly. The typical Cutter Leaf is shrewd and almost always examines the area around it before engaging an enemy. They are also playful and kind to anything they view as friendly, and they may often tease each other or engage in mock duels in which they attempt to hit their playmate with very weak punches and air blasts. In a way it sort of resembles the human game of tag, only instead the focus is on both evasion and accumulating the most hits, rather than simply being faster than their opponent. It’s both fun and helps the group train their combat skills as a whole. The Cutter Leaf thrives in areas that are both hot and humid, and it’s not all that uncommon to see a Cutter Leaf grooming itself in fresh rainwater. Cutter Leafs generally live around three years, but as with most creatures, those with particularly high magical abilities have an enhanced life span.
Cutter Leaf’s generally prefer to ambush their opponent and attack them by surprise. Of course this isn’t always an option and in these cases they generally attempt to overwhelm their opponent with quick attacks, and in case of more durable opponents they generally focus on more compact powerful punches. Another option is to use the sharper part of their carapace to “slash” and stab at an enemy. This is very effective at breaking through tougher armors, however due to the size and width of the carapace, it usually is not very effective when used on larger opponents as the cut is not very deep. Cutter Leafs do take advantage of their cutting abilities though, and over the many generations two simple combat techniques have been born. Residents that live near these insects and have watched them in action refer to their moves as “Cut Counter” and “Grazing Slash.” Cut Counter involves the Cutter Leaf dodging an enemy attack at the last moment before sticking the outer edge of its carapace, (usually it’s frontal limb,) in the way. The result leaves its opponent with a lengthy bleeding wound. Grazing Slash on the other hand has the Cutter Leaf Stick out it’s carapace as it runs full speed down the entire length of an enemy leaving a long slash. This second attack isn’t quite as useful as the enemy can simply retreat out of the way or attack while the Cutter Leaf continues it’s run, though it does help against armored and slower creatures.
If all else fails Cutter Leafs can inhale a large amount of air which swells up their body before blowing it out of their proboscis creating a mini-air blast. The attack does take a small amount of time to perform though, and generally it’s only used when initiating an enemy, or when facing a flying or ranged type.
Seloph belongs to the gatherer caste, known for usually being well-rounded with no true specialty. They are both the smallest and weakest breed of Cutter Leafs, just below the Sniper caste. Gatherers excel in both agility and speed and are decent punchers, though they lack both cutting power and magical power. Snipers on the other hand are slightly larger than the gatherers and have a long proboscis half the size of their body. They have great eyesight and have both accuracy and power when it comes to attacking from a distance, though they suffer majorly in close combat. The next caste class are known as Razors. Razors have grown wider carapaces that are serrated to cut in a more brutal fashion, they are also not all that bad when it comes to attacking from afar, but their punching power is limited, though their accelerated combat and move speed makes them fierce opponents. Razors are the only caste that prefers to use cutting based attacks over punches. (With a few exceptions) Finally the last caste is known as Tank. They are much larger than all of the other castes and have a large amount of brute strength and durability. In fact one punch from the average tank is about equivalent to the punching power of four average gatherers. While their cutting power is nothing to boast about it is still nothing to laugh at. The only downside to this caste is they generally have weaker long range capabilities, both accuracy and power wise. The species itself is very varied when it comes to overall stats, and while it’s rare, it’s not unheard of for someone to find a Cutter Leaf in the tank caste that acts as a sniper or any other combination.
Cutter Leafs are weak to both fire and ice, as the fire burns their carapace, and the ice slows them down heavily. They are however strong against water and wind. Cutter Leafs are an uncommon-rare insect. They have no preference towards the time of day. They mainly hunt weaker or injured prey, and will continue to stalk for up to a day. They are mainly preyed upon by small animals and larger insects. Rats and frogs in particular love to feast on them, and while few ice or fire elemental species live near them, those that do generally will attack them. Cutter Leaf flesh has a nice sweet taste, while the texture itself is very crisp and wet. It kind of tastes like lettuce doused lightly with a faintly sweet dressing.
Habitat: Cutter Leafs live in the Keflu jungle, a hot and humid place where rain falls practically every other day. Plant life is abundant and thriving in this jungle, and many species of insects and animals make their home in this area. The Keflu jungle itself is somewhat large, but not huge or anything. It is reported that some Cutter Leafs make their home in some of the nearby forests, but generally these are isolated small groups.
Grouping: Cutter Leafs live together in small or medium sized groups and hunt alone or in small packs. Generally these insects move from spot to spot searching for more food and live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle.
Elements: Seloph like all members of its species, can use both air and plant magic.
Specialized Body Parts: Leaf Carapace: A hard, yet flexible carapace in the shape of a leaf. It’s main body and each leg has a separate carapace, though it’s main carapace, the one on it’s back is by far larger. The carapace itself functions as both armor and a weapon. While it’s not nearly the sturdiest or most protective, it doesn’t inhibit movement. When destroyed Seloph loses his cutting attacks, and loses a portion of his punching power. Proboscis: A thin needle-like structure similar to a mosquito. It allows the Cutter Leaf to inhale and exhale rapidly creating a small air blast, though stronger bursts require more time to perform. When destroyed Seloph loses is unable to create air blasts and must rely on punching/cutting attacks. Air blasts deal a small amount of air damage.
Skills/Spells/Tactics: Air Cannon: By focusing magical energy into his standard air blasts, Seloph can discharge a stronger magic enhanced air blast. This kind of attack greatly increases the knockback and damage dealt. (Air based - linked to Proboscis) Leaf Slash: Seloph both hardens and slightly widens the Leaf carapace on his front legs temporarily. This has the effect of allowing Seloph to slash through armor a little easier, as well as cutting much deeper. (Plant based - linked to Leaf Carapace) Overwhelming Pressure: The Cutter Leaf goes all out and attacks rapidly focusing solely on the opponent in front of it. This style pressures the opponent into having to focus on defense and evasion to escape damage. Additionally the Cutter Leaf gains a small bonus to dodging close range attacks by moving just enough so that its opponent is only able to graze or narrowly miss. While this is great for one versus one duels, this style of fighting leaves the Cutter Leaf open when dealing with more than one enemy, or when facing attacks coming from multiple angles. Additionally this style does not actually increase the strength of the strikes, it's actually the opposite as the strikes become slightly weaker. Likewise the Cutter Leaf must give up part of its defense as well, leaving it especially open to strong hits. (Combat Style)
Stats: Seloph is relatively standard as far as the Gatherer caste goes. The only difference is he has slightly more strength and air blast capabilities.
Biography:Short version - Seloph lived in the heart of the Keflu jungle with around thirty other cutter leafs. Being a gatherer he mainly focused on hunting other insects with a small portion of other gatherers and occasionally with different castes. Very rarely would he ever hunt alone. One day while out hunting in a small group they found a small burrow. Entering it they encountered a small swarm of armored insects with three legs and a large claw each At the very top of their body was a single thick bulging eyeball similar to that of a crab, with the only difference being that the stalk was composed of the same material as the eye. The battle was on, and while the Cutter Leafs had managed to win there were many casualties among them that needed to be healed, luckily no one out of the group was in a life threatening condition, so everyone instead took a break feasting on the corpses as well as rested. That’s when it appeared. The mother of the swarm who was not only much larger, but had a second appendage, that of a long tendril which ended in a soft, yet heavy sphere. The battle once again commenced, only this time it appeared the other enemy would win as the Cutter Leafs began dying left and right. Before Seloph knew it, he was all alone faced with the large monstrosity in front of him. Out of all the other Cutter Leafs he had been lucky enough to avoid any serious damage the whole time, yet he knew the odds were stacked against him and that he had to escape. He could not beat this opponent alone. He tried to make his way past the creature but ultimately was intercepted by the tendril. Forced to fight Seloph went all out, though his attacks proved rather ineffective. His cutting attacks left shallow scratches on the tough armor, and his punches seemed to do almost nothing. With the battle continuing for only a minute the creature finally caught Seloph’s proboscis it’s claw and lifted him up applying intense pressure. Seloph tried to escape by pushing himself away but it was no use. His opponent was just playing with him now at this point as it slowly began to increase the pressure on his proboscis. In a last ditch effort Seloph channeled the last of his magical power into his proboscis, and used his Air cannon ability. The attack, while not being dead on managed to graze the creature’s eyeball right as the proboscis snapped. Seloph dropped to the ground in incredible pain as he felt for his missing body part before attempting to retreat further down the burrow. The creature dazed for a moment snapped out of it and became furious. As Seloph ran he felt a warmth emanating from behind him only to turn around at the last moment to see a ball of fire hurtling towards him. He quickly shielded himself with his carapace and was knocked backwards, the heat of the fire slowly destroying his only armor leaving him naked and exposed. With the last of his strength he tried to crawl away. The creature attempted to give chase but thanks to a lucky attack from one of his comrades fell over due to a leg injury it had received earlier. On death’s doorstep Seloph barely managed to escape into the next room before curiously finding a purple portal on the wall. Seloph at the time did not understand what he was looking at, but he slowly approached it anyways figuring he was going to die either way. So slowly but surely, Seloph slowly crawled closer to the portal before sticking one of his legs in. He could feel a pulling sensation, and quickly removed his leg from the portal out of fear it was something else that would eat him, only to find out that his leg and carapace were now healed. So taking a risk, Seloph jumped in.
@BCTheEntity Can't wait to see the rest of your character.
@Classpet Just a few things. This takes place in a fantasy world, not on earth. Because of this you'll want to make up new regions to replace "North Africa" and "The Middle East". Secondly you'll want to increase the lifespan of your character, as well as potentially decide if you want to make your character more magical. (Though you don't have to)
Regarding your specialized body parts Wings: Your wings should always work unless damaged or if your character is physically or mentally exhausted. Stinger: You use the elements "Air" and "Healing". You'll need to either remove the poison from your stinger, or change one of your elements to poison.
Regarding Skills/Spells/tactics Air: This is good, though you might want to change the name to something else (You don't have to though) Stinger: Please change the name of this ability, and also remove the part about you dying from using this attack. (You can take damage from using a skill, but you shouldn't take so much that you potentially die) Go for the eyes: Please remove the part about a swarm, as your character will largely fight without his/her own species. Also I meant your combat style to be something more like this. (It doesn't need to be as long as the example.)
Example: Overwhelming Pressure - The Cutter Leaf goes all out and attacks rapidly focusing solely on the opponent in front of it. Likewise the Cutter Leaf must give up part of it's defense as well, leaving it especially open to strong hits.
Healing: I'll allow this if you remove another one of the skills above. Given you're a bee you can still make honey, it just won't have any healing properties until you gain more experience in this world, or replace one of your above skills.
You slowly awaken to find yourself floating in a pitch black void. You gaze around only to find nothing but darkness. Death, is this death? You couldn’t help but ask yourself this question as you slowly continued to drift through the seemingly endless abyss. But, how exactly did you die? Was it old age? No it couldn’t be, you weren’t old enough to die just yet. Suddenly your thoughts returned to that strange purple rift you had touched earlier. Was this the cause of all of this? Taking a small breath you realized just how stale the air felt. This wasn’t normal at all, and a part of you felt a bit nervous out of fear as you had no idea what was going on. In fact you couldn't even feel your body, something which sent you into somewhat of a panic. Suddenly without warning a bright light appeared in front of you catching you off guard. The light itself was almost painfully blinding and every few moments it would get brighter and brighter before all you could see was white. You try to move, but again your body feels completely numb and sluggish. The light slowly envelops you before you black out.
Imagine a large highly fantastical world filled with sprawling civilizations, magical beasts, and unexplored ruins and wilderness. Sounds pretty generic right? Well you’d be right, but let’s take a further look into the world shall we? Imagine a group of adventurers traveling through a heavily wooded forest. Now ask yourself, what do you imagine a group of adventurers would look like? Perhaps they look like simple humans wielding sword, bow, and magic? Well the one thing that sets this game apart from other roleplays of this genre is that your characters will not be human, and in fact they won’t even be humanoid. Your characters will instead be mere insects. Practically every creature in this world has some form of magical power, and in fact, even some single celled creatures have latent magical energy. Though the latent energy found in microbial creatures is so minimal as to be pointless. By banding together with other players you will forage, hunt, and survive.
Since you will be playing as insects or insect sized creatures, communication will be extremely limited as none of you can speak each other’s languages, much less even begin to understand it. Instead you will need to find out how to communicate either through a form of gesture, a series of noises, or plain old actions. Of course while this can be somewhat harder to perform in combat, most of the enemies you face will also have this same communication problem provided they are not of the same species. (with a few exceptions) Teamwork, communication, and understanding is important to your survival as a group. Of course you may also attempt to communicate with your opponents as well. Both intimidation and docility can be valuable when it comes to avoiding conflict.
You will explore many different areas from lush forests, blazing hot deserts, frozen mountains, to even less standard areas such as a crystalline cave and forgotten ruins. The enemies themselves will also range from insects, small animals, and tiny creatures of all sorts. Most will have some form of magical energy, so be aware and be ready for the many challenges that face you ahead. Most of the travel between areas will take place through the use of portals or simply walking from area to area. As a sidenote. depending on the environment you may feel more energized or weaker. A lot of it depends on the current environment compared to your actual homeland habitat.
You may be an insect, but you’re still very intelligent. You have ambition, you feel pressure, and you have feelings. Basically feel free to make your insect as intelligent and/or humanlike as possible when it comes to internalized thinking. Feel free to problem solve and don’t hold back when it comes to trying to figure out what your other teammates are trying to say, or when it comes to facing puzzles and the like.
Inventory: Your character can open a small pocket dimension allowing it to carry up to three different objects with it. This pocket dimension can be opened at any time, however it takes a few seconds to actually store or withdraw an item. Opening an inventory in combat can be risky as this task takes concentration, so having someone else distract the enemy may be a good idea if at all possible. Most creatures themselves do not have an inventory, but those that do will drop their items upon death. Insects that are beefier and more durable will have an easier time concentrating while receiving punishment, but those that are faster may be able to run away far enough to open their inventory unimpeded. Some items may take up more than one slot depending on its size/weight. Please keep this in mind.
Elements: Your character can specialize in up to two different elements such as fire, water, electricity, or even less common things such as Sonic (sound), Solar, Lunar, Metal, etc…) The sky's the limit, just make sure you don’t choose something overpowered and you’ll be fine. Many enemies will have their own elements of expertise, and while some may be resistant to your attacks, others will be weaker to it. Please keep in mind, that just because an enemy has a fire attack, they may still be weak to fire, even if that is their predominant element.
Body parts: Body parts are what separate your character from the rest of the characters. They are linked to most of your skills, spells, and in some cases combat styles. Perhaps you have wings that let you fly, antennae for magic casting, a horn to impale hostile creatures with, a pronged tail, or even something like a propulsion system. While slightly altering physical stats, body parts are vital for your insect to use most of their skills. If they are harmed or destroyed it is possible that their skills/spells will fail to activate leaving them to rely solely on their combat prowess. However while this may be considered a weakness for you, most enemies will have their own body parts which you may exploit. One thing worth noting is that if your specialized body parts are destroyed they are not essential for you to live. Your main body is a different story, if that is damaged severely you will pass out. It doesn’t matter if your specialized body parts are completely healthy and have received no damage, if your main body takes enough hits then you’re knocked out. The same holds true for enemies and at times you may have to make a decision between trying to kill the enemy as fast as possible by targeting the main body, or instead opting to take out the annoying body part that gives them an unfair advantage. Use your best judgement. Body parts regenerate and heal over time.
This is pretty simple itself. Skills/Spells are basically the specialized forms of attack your character may have. Perhaps you shoot out a type of laser beam, or spit out poisonous barbs or the like. Heck, you can even have spikes pop out of the ground or something similar. Though it should be noted that attacks that control the terrain may have special conditions. (e.g. you won’t be able to create a wave of dust/sand if the room you’re in is made out of metal. though you will still be able to use this ability if you have the starting point of your attack begin at your position.) Skills/Spells do not have to have an element, although most certainly do. Some skills may be linked to your main body, but these are considered weaker. (an example of such a skill would be one that heats up your body exponentially which harms any creature who touches you with heat damage.) Finally to note, is that if you use a healing or “buff” skill/spell on an ally that is for instance weak to water and resistant to electricity. If your skill/spell is elementally water based it will have slightly less of an effect, as due to the element it will cause some irritation. On the other hand if the skill/spell is electrically based, the skill/spell will be enhanced slightly. You will be allowed to use your skills only a certain amount of times per day.
Basically how your character fights and what it tries to focus on in combat. Perhaps it’s precision and speed at the cost of offensive power, or alternatively all out offense at the cost of evasive maneuvering. Styles do not necessarily have to be used, and you can just attack as normal, or even attempt to focus on evasion and agility even if you don’t have the actual combat style learned for it, however you will take a hit on all of your other stats if you attempt to fight in a way that would be considered awkward for your character.
Diet: Your character’s diet is technically omnivore, however it will have a preferred taste for either meat, plant material, or just nothing in particular. Eating something you like makes you more energized, while eating something you do not have a taste for may cause you to weaken as it will be somewhat harder for you to digest.
Does your character like bright lights, or does it prefer darkness? Are its views mixed? You will feel slightly stronger or weaker depending on how much light is available.
Portals: Pretty simple. Portals are small purple magic based wormholes that transport characters from one zone to the next. Using these will speed up travel and may lead to interesting places, however portals are very unstable and will often disappear upon use. They are placed sporadically throughout the world and often appear and disappear with the passage of time.
Not all enemies will travel alone. Some have built large colonies and nests and may hunt in large groups. When alone they aren’t very dangerous, but together they can be very deadly as they attempt to crawl over you and pin you down while holding you still. Due to this some players should invest in an AOE skill as killing them one at a time will be very insufficient to survival.
Name/Nickname: This will not play much of a role in the RP.
Gender: Genders such as hermaphrodite, genderless, or even genders that don’t exist are allowed.
Age: How long has your character lived for?
Appearance: What does your character look like?
Personality: (Optional, does your character have any differing mental quirks/traits that are added or removed from the average species member)
Species/Sub-species Name: Separate Species and Sub-species/caste with a dash. (Example: Cutter Leaf – Razor) If there is no sub-species/caste system then just list the Species name.
Species Biology: List the diet, preferred temperature range and humidity level, typical personality of your species, life expectancy, preferred diet, natural predator(or type of predator), Average Species Combat Style, Average stats for a member of the same species (e.g. Magical power, Offense, Durability, Speed, Agility), Weaknesses and Resistances to elemental magic, Specialized traits, Rarity, and finally if they are nocturnal or diurnal or mixed.
Habitat: List the habitat this creature is most commonly found in. Is it found in a small remote region, perhaps it is spread out over eastern forests or such? Feel free to list a specific named area if you wish. What are these habitats like?
Grouping: Does your species usually travel in groups? Is it solitary? Do they live in colonies, burrows, or nests?
Elements: What kind of elements does your insect specialize in? (Choose from up to two)
Specialized Body Parts: What specialized body parts does your species carry? What is their main function?
Skills/Spells/Tactics: List two different Skills/Spells your insect possesses, as well as it’s starting combat style. Make sure to explain what body part the skill itself is tied to. Feel free to link the Skill/Spell to one, both, or no body parts. However keep in mind that the more body parts the skill is linked to, the stronger the skill is. Please also outline the overall strength of any skills/spells you possess. If you prefer you may instead invest in a second combat style, (more can be learned over the course of the game so no pressure) just make sure to list how your insect fights and what it focuses on, as well as any drawbacks that comes to its preferred fighting style. Note: Combat styles may have elemental properties, however they will have much less magical energy than a skill itself.
Stats: Is your character average? Are they stronger in a certain area than the average member of their species? Weaker? Basically how strong is your character compared to the average member of his/her species and at which areas does it excel at and which areas are weakened if any? (This will actually have a small effect on the roleplay, as some enemies may be able to sense the average “power level” of a member of your same species.) – Note: All players start off at equal footing, so if your insect species is considered extremely strong, and you buff up your own character by saying it’s power is godlike compared to its own species, you would still be just as powerful as all the other players. Instead your species will be considered very weak in the grand scheme of things. It will only be considered extremely powerful for it's region.
Biography: How did you stumble upon the initial portal? (Additional information is optional. If you would like to create a proper back story with conflict and what not feel free, though it's certainly not required.)
Rules
1. Nothing is absolute, any attack can be countered, dodged, overpowered, or blocked. It is impossible to have an attack that always hits its mark or an attack that can pierce through anything.
2. No godmodding.
3. All the rules of this site still apply. (Obviously)
4. Suggestions for the game are allowed.
5. If you read what another character is thinking, but can’t form a connection between their gestures and actions to said thoughts, then don’t have your character figure it out. (e.g. if I spin around three times and shuffle my legs and I specifically state in my head that I want you to attack the undercarriage of our opponent, don’t have your character understand what I’m trying to say.)
6. Don’t post a character sheet in the character sheet tab until I confirm your character is good enough and not under/overpowered. Feel free to state your interest in this game, and feel free to ask about any questions you have.
Note: I have added an example character sheet to the characters tab. Check it out if you're having trouble making a character. Also note that you don't have to make the character sheet as quite as detailed, and the biography can be much shorter.
This sounds crazy cool. Would have to make sure nobody cheats by thinking out specifically what they have to communicate nonverbally so the others can read it. Like "I hoped he would understand that spinning around four times and petting that rock with my horns means rescue me out of this well..."
So does this mean you're interested then? ^^ Also thinking that kind of stuff in your little insect brain is fine, but if the player himself doesn't understand what the point of such an action is, I'd rather they have their character either misinterpret it, or even just not understand it at all.
Good detail about the RP itself, lots of elemental freedom, body-based skills, an interesting twist with how communication works... smtfu
I was just wondering how everyone would feel about a roleplay idea I have had for some time.
Basically this roleplay would take place in a fantasy world in which most creatures have an affinity for magic and get stronger through training or eating certain foods containing high amounts of magic power. There would be adventurers, dragons, evil warlocks, geniuses creating machines of war, etc...) However unlike most roleplays of this type, you will not be playing as an adventurer. Heck you won't even be playing as a human, dwarf, elf, orc, or anything else of the sort.
Instead players will take on the form of an insect or insect-like creature. The size of your creature will range between a large hornet to a crab. You will also get to choose up to a total of 2 elements of your choice (Things such as sonic(sound) or mental are completely fine.) Whether you're nocturnal or diurnal. What kind of environment you're best suited to. (e.g. wet, dry, hot, cold) and what kind of environments you don't do well in/elements you're weak to.
Each player will also have two extra body parts that are linked to their skills. If any of these body parts are severely injured, the skills linked to them will be unusable until you heal sufficiently. Some skills are linked to your main body instead though, and can be used regardless of how damaged your "special" body parts are. However these are generally a bit weaker in terms of actual power.
Finally the most important feature of this roleplay, is that you will not be allowed to communicate with the other players using words. Instead you will instead be limited to gestures, noises, and actions. Of course you'll still be able to think your own thoughts in the rp, but communication between other players will be limited and you’ll have to figure out just how to get your point across. This also means that hostile enemies will not be able to communicate with each other either (excluding a few cases in which enemies are of the same species, or a few other cases)
Oh, and before I forget you will have a limited inventory that will allow you to hold a couple of items, I'm just not really sure on the quantity yet.
The plot itself is pretty basic. While going about your everyday life you manage to find a magical portal leading you to an entirely different area where you meet more insects. Uncertain of your new environment you team up with your new companions and try to survive and scavenge for food in different environments. That's pretty much it I believe.
If you have any questions or have any constructive criticism on this RP, feel free to say so.
So uh, when you get some time can you look at my character on page 96 (third post from the bottom) I'm pretty sure you looked over it though it is more my fault as I forgot to mention you in the post. Oops ^^;
Alright, here's my character sheet. Hope there's room for one more.
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 129 lbs.
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Name: Rito Sanada
Age: 15
History: Rito Sanada was born into a low income household. While his family wasn’t extremely poor, there were a few harsh times in which both money and food were scarce. During these times Rito’s diet would often subsist on crackers, as well as plain bread by itself and sometimes some jam if Rito was lucky. Thankfully these periods were rather short lasting only for a few months each time. Ever since hearing about Deep Ground Online and how the best players became both successful and rich Rito hoped that his parents would buy him the game. Upon turning thirteen he asked both of his parents who at first refused. It wasn’t until a year and a half later that Rito finally managed to obtain a copy of the game, along with a word of advice from both of his parents to treat the game seriously, as they didn’t want Rito to be in the same situation as they were. After agreeing to do well in the game, Rito started to play it each and every day when possible, and decided to stay away from joining a guild, figuring that if he was aligned with a guild other people may attack him constantly due to his allegiance with that guild. Not only that, but Rito wasn’t really sure who exactly he could trust. Instead he often fought the easiest dissolutions by himself to farm and slowly work his way up to the tougher ones. Due to being guildless, Rito has been attacked a handful of times by roaming players. As luck would have it, Rito managed to win most of his fights thus far, usually by the skin of his teeth. His drive to become rich and successful and escape from poverty pushed him forward and let him achieve new heights. Rito felt the need to win, not just for himself, but for his family, and thanks to his hard work Rito has finally managed to reach level 3.
Personality: Rito is both kind and friendly in real life and will at times go out of his way to help other people out. If he doesn’t like someone he usually tries to avoid interacting with them, but will usually be willing to hear the person out if they so request it. He feels bad if he ever has to ask for something from another and will try to make it up to the person so he doesn’t feel like he is in debt to them. While in Deep Ground Online Rito feels as though he must win, and that both he and his family’s future relied on his chances of doing a good job in-game. As a solo player Rito usually travels alone, only every now and then would he actually partner up with anyone. In battle he is fierce and will attack his opponent relentlessly giving them no room to do anything at all. Of course this doesn’t always work, and his reckless behavior can sometimes lead to him taking unnecessary damage. If he feels like he is outclassed he instead relies on searching for openings and is more calm and collected, playing more defensively until he can figure out the flow and rhythm his opponent uses. One day he wants to join a guild, but right now he doesn’t see a real need to so long as he can properly gain more exp.

Avatar Title: Mushi
Avatar Level: 3
Avatar Guild: N/A
Avatar Abilities: Power Leap: The user has his jump speed (horizontal) and distance increase by a large amount. With this skill the user can jump a total of 15 feet (+5 feet per level, for a maximum of 60 feet) either vertically or horizontally. Additionally fall damage taken will be decreased as if the distance the user had fallen was 20 feet less, if the user lands on his feet. Regardless of whether the user is standing or running, the distance the user leaps will always remain the same if this skill is used in a flat area. Using this move rapidly will exhaust the user’s stamina. Finally this move can also be used to jump off of an opponent or wall. This won’t actually deal any damage, but it can temporarily knock an opponent down or push them back if they’re light enough. (As well as allowing the user to create some distance between them.) While jumping horizontally the user will move 200% faster than normal.
Speed and Halt: The user gains +20% movement speed and 10% attack speed doubling at level 6 and tripling at level 9. Additionally the user can stop on a dime, and all (horizontal) knockback effects are halved if the user manages to keep his balance while on the ground.
Extreme Willpower: The user can survive as long as his hp is above -10% (-15% at level 9). Additionally debuffs and DOT effects/attacks only have 2/3 their intended effect. (1/2 at level 9)
Feats: Level 3 - Furious Blows: +10% Attack Speed Other: Mushi starts off with a wooden bokken for a weapon, and wears simple cloth armor.
Name: Anovala Staril Appearance: Anovala is a somewhat attractive looking human woman who is slightly taller than average. She has a rather slim, yet fit body and her skin is rather smooth, and practically free from blemishes. She has pink shoulder length hair and a cute feminine face. Her bust is also rather small, at least when compared to other females. She usually wears a t-shirt and a skirt or jeans along with a brown headband, though in battle or when training she can most normally be found wearing a long-sleeved purple shirt and trousers, with a black undershirt and belt. Age: 21 Race: Human Gender: Female Personality: Anovala is a kind girl with a strong sense of morals. She would rather carry out a plan that has less chance of success than a plan that would most likely work, but endanger others. Though she has a kind demeanor she has trouble thanking anyone properly, especially if it involves saving her life. It’s not that she doesn’t want to thank them though, she just doesn’t want to come off as weak, and she really doesn’t know what to say or even how to really react to it. She often mentally fights with herself on this and doesn’t know what to do. She is straight and while she desires a relationship for the future, she is not exactly looking for one right now.
Bio: Anovala was raised by two middle-class parents in a rural area. Both of her parents studied martial arts and had control over their ki and often took part in fighting tournaments winning a bit of money. At the age of six both of her parents started to teach Anovala martial arts, as well as trying to help her develop her own ki blast. Anovala had a knack for martial arts and was able to learn a bunch of moves at an accelerated rate, but she had trouble forming any type of ki blast. When Anovala reached age 14 both of her parents were attacked by a group of thugs after Anovala’s father accidentally bumped into one of them while he and his wife were heading out to see a movie together. Anovala’s parents had the upper hand at first, until the group leader arrived and fired ki blasts killing Anovala’s father with a direct shot to the head killing him. In extreme anger Anovala’s mother fired a large ki blast at the leader which injured him quite a bit, but also pissed him off majorly. A big battle played out ending in a draw with the gang leader dying due to a lucky attack by Anovala’s mother. Unfortunately Anovala’s mother was seriously injured in the fight and was rushed to the hospital and had to have surgery performed. Not to much time passed before Anovala found out and rushed to the hospital to visit her dying mother.
Anovala stayed by her mother’s bed side for a few hours until her mother finally passed away, due to complications with how the way the surgery was handled. Anovala cried as she headed back home now parentless. From that point on Anovala trained hard so that she could protect others and protect herself in case she had the same fate herself. She focused on training her handling of ki reasoning that if her mother knew how to use her ki more efficiently she could have survived. She also trained her speed as well rather than strength reasoning that if her father was fast enough he could have dodged the initial ki blast. Eventually she dedicated herself entirely to fighting and won several high level tournaments.
Aura Color: Light Blue
Preferred Fighting Style: Leaning towards Ki Blasts – Anovala is not afraid to engage in close quarters combat, but generally prefers to keep things at a medium distance, enough that she can rush her opponent or play keep away with ki blasts if needed. She specializes in both speed and ki efficiency/power, while everything else is a little below average, with durability being her weakest attribute.
Signature Combat Techniques Cascade Punch: Anovala creates multiple thin layers of ki over her fist and punches her opponent with it. It’s basically like being punched multiple times simultaneously in the exact same spot, making it a devastating move if it ever hits directly. The only downside is that holding the different layers of ki together takes up a lot of concentration, so if Anovala were to get distracted she could lose some or even all the ki layers.
Flare up/Flare Mine: Anovala creates a small ball of ki that floats in the air. It’s basically a slow moving (or non-moving) mine that combusts if touched. When creating these balls of ki if Anovala focuses correctly she can link the balls of energy towards a source of energy. These mines can then flare up and shoot towards the source of the energy with a time delay that lasts anywhere from 1 second to 1 minute. When these projectiles flare up they produce sparks of orange ki and travel at a rate much faster than most standard ki attacks. Once the projectiles flare up they lose power but do gain a small amount of piercing damage. (e.g. able to pierce through the environment or pierce slightly through an entity’s body). Additionally the ki sparks generated deal a very miniscule amount of damage if touched. Flared ki blasts cannot change direction and can only fly in a straight line. The direction a non-flared mine moves is inconsequential to which direction the projectile moves once it flares up. If an energy source is undetectable Anovala will have to manually aim them in advance.
Divergence Beam: A large beam of ki that can split into multiple smaller beams. Additionally these beams can change directions and do not have to travel straight once fired, but movement is somewhat limited.
Drain Shield: Anovala creates a frontal ki barrier that can absorb ki blasts from other opponents and reintegrate the energy back into the ki shield to sustain itself. Of course this shield is not 100% efficient, and piercing projectiles have a much easier chance of breaking through the shield. That being said, slow moving projectiles, or rapid bursts of weak ki blasts are easily absorbed by the shield. Trying to break the shield physically will just have it act like a normal barrier. The Drain shield is weaker than most other barriers, but is very efficient against ki based attacks.
