Goldeagle: >.> Goldeagle: Ethan Goldeagle: if you ask me Goldeagle: if Ethica was a centralized Empire Goldeagle: they would focus most military resources in the nkrthern border Goldeagle: so the south would keep it going with resources and fresh heads Goldeagle: while politicans attempt to set up puppet tribe kings in the north tribes because fuck colonizing a waste land. that or Hadrians wall. Goldeagle: the legions didnt reside in Rome but the trouble border, and the taxes followed them so to speak ethanjory: I thought it was a fairly decentralized feudalistic empire. Therefore, the Roman Empire isn't wholly a good comparison. Goldeagle: I know. ethanjory: Of course, I'm happy to make changes to fit better into the narrative. Goldeagle: Im critiqueing the mind set of the individual lords Goldeagle: because even the HRE supported the marque Goldeagle: Just know that those who wish further centralization support the nrth by this mindset Goldeagle: and decentralization supports the south Goldeagle: because they get to keep their crap and decadence because no war tariff ethanjory: Funny that the true loyalist states may end up being the North. Goldeagle: Right? Goldeagle: Greedy lords make terrible allies Goldeagle: instead of uniting forces to make a better resistance, they are content woth putting their tiny divided forces by their own grain and coin, hoping nobody will notice Goldeagle: invaders notice Goldeagle: stay strong North!
Oh darn, I was hoping to get a head start on my machinations and plots.
Good point. Well if you want to plot with me, feel free to PM me. (Royal Family) currently in the making so open for flexibility. Anyways, I'll be back later.
@LordZell I killed Conrad once, I can do it again ... >.> unless you support my Royal Contender.
EDIT: On another note, I will be roleplaying as the Royal family (For those who played Brimstone, it isn't gonna be like the Heinrichs) So if anyone wants preestablished special relations, let me know. I will be working on a family tree for potential marriages, as well as an NS once the OOC ups.
Well, that works for me. In that case, it will be listed as one of the places there resides a royal mint when I get around to currency.
@ethanjory@gorgenmast@Lord Zee Also you chaps probably already know this, but bordering the (Yet unnamed) Forest will result in having to deal with the raiding tribes who will generally do all they can to make your life a living hell. At the very least you will never get bored.
On the bright side, however, border nations get the option of having imperial garrisons stationed in their province. Now how big these garrisons are will largely depend on your houses standing with coming Emperor. Just throwing that out there for plot fodder.
Two potential political moves: A contender commissions the mints to start printing their face prematurely as the winner, or a contender offers juicy garrisons to northern provinces in return for support and votes. Politics.
I'm not really a bird.

Where did I play,
A land of twisted branches,
A kingdom of clay,
A swamp of memories,
A never-ending day,
Where did I run,
Across the dawn,
Through the sun,
Across the sky,
Through laughs and fun,
Where did I walk,
Pristine grass green,
White cliffs of chalk,
Pools of sky so blue,
Orchard stones that talk,
Where did I sit,
By the gates of silver,
Near endless pit,
By forever horizon,
You may remember it.[/center]
