That Dream....
Rosalie couldn't help but wonder who she was chasing, and why. The situation felt like something out of Alice in Wonderland...
The person stopped and spoke, only to reveal that Rosalie was now balancing on power lines, high above the crowds and pavement! Fear immediately gripped her heart tightly as she did her best to balance. At first she found balance in a simple stance for dancing ballet, and she was able to focus her attention on the mysterious figure.
This White Rabbit she was chasing...turned out to be a blonde haired older woman with strange yellow eyes!
Rosalie comprehended what the woman said, but she was still confused. Naturally, dreams can be confusing, Rosalie knew this, but this was probably the most confusing one she's had!
Then...Rosalie remembered this woman...somehow. But...Wait...what?!
She had so many questions she wanted to ask, but then she mentioned the fear, and then...Rosalie fell!
Rosalie woke up with a scream upon feeling the pavement, one of her legs jerking as though she had just missed a step on the stairs. Feeling herself die upon contact onto that harsh ground! That sensation shook Rosalie...
She knew she wasn't supposed to be able to feel anything in dreams, but that felt so real...
As though to take her attention off of the dream, she shakily looked at the clock, and after quickly reading the time, she panicked a bit and moved quickly to get ready for school.
She normally got up earlier than 7 AM. A total of one hour early! She quickly ate breakfast, and got dressed in her uniform. She neglected to put on make up and jewelry as usual, because the last time she put such things on, with an outfit she thought she looked cute in, the bullying worsened.
She wanted to just blend in.
She looked in the mirror and took a few breaths giving herself the usual affirmations,
"You can do this. You can make it through another day.
Maybe you'll finally make friends with someone. Hopefully.
Just remember to pay attention, enunciate when you speak, and words have meaning..."
After that and a quick couple of hits to her face with both of her hands, she hurried out of the door with belongings in hand, and bicycle ready to go!
She made it to class early, much to her relief! While sitting in class, she dutifully wrote the notes that were on the board. She knew that she was going to need them, because previous instances of trying to take notes during the lecture have proven that just listening wasn't enough. She wasn't going to be able to comprehend something the teacher said, and her notes will fall behind his speaking.
She needed to be ready to write as quickly as possible and be mentally ready to understand every single word the teacher would say.
When she finished writing down the notes that were written on the board, she turned her attention to see...a bunch of girls ganging up on a meek girl.
That was a familiar sight.
Rosalie wanted to stand up and help that girl. But...her own memories stopped her. If she intervened, then those bullies would then target her, and she didn't want to cause her parents to feel like they have to move and change schools again...
It was her fault after all...
"
I'm so sorry. I can't help you. I'm not strong enough..." Not to mention, the teachers probably wouldn't listen to Rosalie if she said anything. Rosalie thought as she turned her attention back to her notes.
Thankfully, there are some words that are incredibly easy to hear and understand...
especially if understanding that words means the difference between living and dying.
“Oh my god she has a gun!”
Upon hearing the word 'gun', Rosalie whipped her head towards the voice to see the meek girl take out the called out weapon. Rosalie jumped out of her seat, turned towards the scene, not realizing what was happening! She couldn't move after that, she felt herself freeze in fear.
The meek woman fired, and instead of her dying, Rosalie thought she saw a monster...!
The next thing Rosalie knew...she was in a courtyard? She looked around saw that everyone around her were...puppets?!
Rosalie felt a chill down her spine as she took in the scene, and she couldn't help but start to ask, "
Wha-What is this?!" She then turned her attention to the stage.
Her eyes widened as she listened to the grey elf speak of the female puppets' sins and crimes, and how they screamed insults and cried and begged for their lives. Their cries fell on deaf ears, except for hers...and she gasped as she watched one fall and die on the noose. Her hands had covered her mouth to stifle any more sounds she could make.
Were those female puppets...the girls who were bullying that girl who shot herself earlier?!She had to get out of here...! She desperately looked around and found the unguarded exit. Her cowardly heart wanted to just run, but she needed to find that exit first.
Then she heard the voice...and she comprehended them immediately!
She stayed still, albeit shaking, but listened. When the voice finished, her eyes landed on the violin. She looked between the instrument and the unguarded exit.
Thoughts sped through her mind, until she finally spoke, thinking the voice would answer...
"
Why not both...?"
She then walked slowly to the violin, scared, cautious, but also curious and in awe of whatever power this violin had, and she remembered a quote,
"
Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent..."
After saying the quote aloud, she stood in front of the violin and picked it up. Various thoughts ran through her head,
"
It's been so long since I played. I probably won't sound so good if I tried to play now,"
"I want to understand the people around me, so I can make friends...! So what am I doing wrong?"
"
I need to get out of here...! This place is dangerous, what if I'm next to hang?!"
"What if I'm not the only one in this weird place? Maybe if there are others, playing this can lead them to me and out of here..."
All of the cacophonous thoughts all united into one thought, one decision:
"These executions have to stop...!"
She is scared. There is no denying that, but she raised the violin into position and readied herself to play...
