Next you’ll tell me the sunlight flows like molasses and that the river in Baldur’s Gate is more sludge than water and that the gangsters just leave the bodies sitting on top.

I mean...Don't they? :P
I’m out of context at the moment, but the idea of a party of adventurers trying to figure out what Widdershins means had me laughing very hard. Too much Terry Pratchett for me, I say, too much.

Yes!

I couldn't resist taking the Wonderland route with this.

NPC: Widdershins!
NPC 2: Ah yes! Widdershins!
Player Characters: WTF are Widdershins?!
NPC: Come now, Everybody knows Widdershins!
I am assuming that no one in the party would know about this then?

That is correct. ^^" Sorry.

But you do have an NPC who knows and is willing to help out by invoking the Allergy because he has no weapons or belongings.
Hither

Bavlorna's Cottage

Bloody Toes smirks at Brutrumukk and she wickedly chuckles, "Great minds think alike, eh?"

She then answers his offer, "Tempting offer, but I'll pass. I already helped you enough by giving you that secret,"

Then Jub asks his question and Vansel speaks up, curious but lacking in judgment, "You don't know Widdershins? Everyone knows Widdershins...." He then shrugged and he reveals, "Well, it's not something to get and show, it's something to do,"

He then offers, "I can do that for you, as long as you guys keep me safe and unharmed. Does that sound good?"

@Guardian Angel Haruki can I roll a history or...hm what kinda roll would I need to know what a Widdershins is? Sounds like the kinda thing a bard would know if it's been in folkstakes

I'm going to say 'No' on this as well.
It's uniquely fey and this would definitely be the first time Gabriel has heard of it.
<Snipped quote by Guardian Angel Haruki>

She's a redcap, which are pretty formidable on their own. She knows Bavlorna's weakness, which will make the hag much less formidable than she would be otherwise. And she'd have six other people backing her up, providing the strength and safety of numerical superiority.

A case could be made that she would have a good chance of taking out the one she hates the most and living to tell the tale if she helps out.

And before you go saying that she could have all of the reward and none of the risk by just staying in the kitchen, consider this: Would listening to a battle happening in a different room really be as satisfying as being there in the action, seeing the look on Bav's face as her weakness is exploited, and bathing in freshly spilled hag blood as seven people rip and tear until it is done?

All of that is correct. You have a point.

However: Bloody Toes is in an interesting situation.

1) She was working for Bavlorna, being paid in victims, as her butcher. That's a great gig for her.
2) If she knows Bavlorna's weakness, then she knows what Bavlorna Blightstraw is capable of.

With these two factors in mind, she knows that if the party fails to kill Bavlorna, and was seen helping you guys, then she's going to face consequences worse than just losing her current job.

So, yes, her blood lust would be satisfied if she helped you guys, but she's aware of short term and long term consequences.

With all of this considered, Brutrumukk can roll a Persuasion, but it would be a straight roll.
<Snipped quote by Guardian Angel Haruki>

That makes sense in the way that the redcap would like to see Bavlorna dead but is too lazy to do so themselves.

I wouldn't say she's lazy...

...I would say it's more of a sense of Self-Preservation.
@Guardian Angel Haruki

One lucky bugbear indeed!

Would Brutrumukk need to roll anything to know what Widdershins are?

Also, is Bloody Toes' hatred of Bavlorna strong enough that Brut could make a Persuasion check with advantage to convince her to help kill the hag?

I'm going to say 'No'. The only time you've heard the word Widdershins was back at the Carnival, and you don't know what that means.

Considering that there is another NPC who is willing to help you guys out, I would say no on persuading Bloody Toes to help you kill the hag.

Bavlorna's Cottage

Bloody Toes raised an eyebrow at Brutrumukk's words and her eyes were scrutinizing him even as Gabriel spoke up to try and help with the Deception.

But her eyes narrowed. It's clear that the Deception was unsuccessful.

But...she started to laugh...

"Ha...haha...HA! HAHAHAHA! 'Pointed' Questions! HA! I get it!"

She then finished laughing and she gave a wide sneering grin, "Yer here to kill Bavlorna Blightstraw, aren't ya! Don't take me fer some idiot,"

After a few wicked chuckles, she speaks again, "Listen, I hate everyone...but I hate Bavlorna Blightstraw the most. So, I'll tell ya a little secret, as per the Rule of Hospitality," She sneered upon saying the rule.

She reveals, "Bavlorna Blightstraw is allergic to Widdershins. Can't stop sneezing!"

That seemed to catch Vansel's attention as he asked in surprise, "She has a Widdershins allergy? Wow! I never would've guessed!"

Even with advantage 8 is still the best Brut can do. He rolled a 6 this time.

Well now...

Brutrumukk is one lucky bugbear...
