Appearance:
Name:
Tristan Mallory
Gender:
Male
Age:
Appears to be in his 20s (He lost count of his actual age)
Race:
Human
Class:
That One Guy With the Shield - A very simple class. He uses shields and whatever one handed weapon is available to him. He doesn't really care at this point. Stat-wise, his Strength and Constitution is extremely high, allowing him to tank most blows with ease. Intelligence and Speed are average though, with low Charisma, and absolutely pitiful Luck.
Dream:
To just go back to his original world.
Home:
Our World
Gimmicks:
- Block: He uses his shield to negate the attack. What more do you want from him?
- Attack: He swings his sword/ax/hammer/spear/whatever at the enemy. Shut up, it counts.
- Plot Armor: He only seems to become capable of being killed once the world's threat is taken down, some contrived act of fate always preventing what should be certain death. Once the big, bad is gone, he's mortal like anyone else.
Background:
One day, while minding his own business, Tristan was struck by some random truck driving across the road. Or was he stabbed by a mugger? Or maybe he just fell asleep while playing a video game? He can't really remember. He does remember what happened afterwards though. When he reawoke, he found himself in some sort of magic-filled fantasy world, with wonder and adventure around every corner. It was a blast. He got to meet tons of new people that he grew to call friends, he defeated the demon king of the realm, and he fell in love and had a family before dying peacefully in his sleep at a respectable old age... And then he reawoke in a magic-filled fantasy world, with wonder and adventure around every corner. It was a blast. And then he reawoke in a magic-filled fantasy world, with wonder and adventure around every corner. You see where this is going?
8,675,309. That's how many times he's been reincarnated. That's how many times he's had to save the world from some new, overwhelming threat that was trying to achieve total domination. Tristan has tried everything he could think of to break the cycle, including but not limited to suicide, conquering the world instead, and finding magic artifacts that alter reality. Nothing works. Everything always works out for him until the threat is dealt with, then he dies of something and is reincarnated again. Sometimes he's not even human or male or he gets special powers that make everything easy. Other times he's still in his normal body. In any case, he's grown bored of this constant rebirth. At reincarnation number 12,395 he became insane, but eventually he grew disinterested in that too. He just wants to go somewhere that feels different, preferably his own home world.
Personality:
Extremely jaded and cynical, Tristan has come to be very fed up with his cursed existence as an Isekai protagonist. Every time he appears in a new world, it feels like he's done it all already, nothing being capable of surprising him anymore. He has also given up on trying to remember people's names, since he'll eventually move on to another world afterwards with more people and magic MacGuffins to remember. So instead he refers to them by the number of times he's met someone with similar traits in previous worlds. He wonders when he'll reach 1,000,000. The wise, old wizard that never directly helps but could probably beat the demon king all on his own is the closest at around 972,133.
Inventory:
A sword, a shield, and some decent iron armor. This world seems to have decided to be very stingy when it comes to items and abilities. Most of the time, Tristan got a magic weapon or some super special superpower.
