I’m going to be opening this up for applications since a few that showed interest haven’t posted sheets yet. The available slots will be listed at the top of the thread.
@Yankee It’s worded as “perceive” exactly because of that, yes. If your character had some form of complex where they thought of themselves as a perfect angel who could do no wrong, they’d probably see themselves as an winged human. As long as it makes sense for the character, I’m pretty lenient about what they look like.
You will be playing [something] or someone that lived a less-than-fulfilling to downright traumatic life. Despite the toll and toil of painstakingly striving to make something of themselves, they do ultimately fail and with nothing left to live for - opt to make a terrible decision. Whether they had support from people around them or not, something leads them to the very moment it takes place. But as soon as the character starts going through the hurricane of turmoil that soon comes after, everything around them changes.
And that is the moment the story truly begins.
The players will come to find that in the [Grayscale World] nothing is quite what it seems. Each character will have to grapple with demons of both physical and psychological type as they traverse through the unknown, and answers to the onslaught of questions that will surely arise. The genres that [Grayscale] will be delved into will be mostly horror/mystery with a sprinkle of action here and there to keep you on your toes. But the focus itself will definitely be on character growth, and relationships, rather than some epic adventure scenario to tell stories about for years to come. Themes like [Depression, Abuse, Trauma, Suicide, and other not-so-gucci themes] will be brought up along the journey and because of that I'd strong recommend anyone with sensitivity to these topics avoid this narrative for their own mental health.

Something broke inside of your character on that fateful day. A piece of the puzzle separated from the others, leaving them incomplete and left wanting for something - but not knowing what that missing piece really was. This ultimately leads them into a twisted, nightmarish alternate reality where nothing is as it seems. In the Grayscale World, the characters search for what exactly that missing pieces was - along with many of the other things that they have lost along the way. For there are many others in this world that have lost things precious to them, and have seemingly lose far more than subtle memories and familiarity - some have even lost any remnants of humanity they might've once had.
Not too often, maybe 1-2 per week. I'm coming out of RP retirement, so I'm not going to be too strict about it.
What length of posts are you looking for?
2-3 Paragraphs works for me?
What are the dos and don'ts for our characters? Is there anything we should avoid? What would you like to see?
Don't break the forum rules, everything else is fine. Nothing that'll make yourself or others uncomfortable. I'd like for the players to allow their characters to be fleshed out from what they experience, and not try to just embody a trope.
I will not be able to craft a character sheet until Friday night. Will that be alright?
You've got time. I'm going to be traveling pretty soon, so I won't have the OOC up until late tomorrow or even Friday anyways.
