I’m shooting for lack of dupes just for the sake of diversity.
Magician is up for grabs, but I’ll have to be a part of the character building process for narrative reasons.
@Haha I guess it's fairly self-explanatory, but for completionist's sake, can you describe what survival is good for? Oh, and also, what level of technology are we working with? Have they made crossbows yet?

Survival would be something like tracking, navigating the wilderness, knowing what species of animal pooped on the floor. I’d say someone with low survival looks at a paw print on the floor and comes to the conclusion that it’s from a wolf, where as someone with high survival would know it’s from a beastman and they were at that location moments ago. You can indicate species, location, small changes in the environment.

Crossbows are fine, early level black powder is probably where I’d say the cutoff on technology is.

@wikkit
Post a sheet and give it a go. As long as the character isn’t going to be brutally annoying for the rest of the cast, I think it should be fine.

Something to chew on while we're fleshing out the OOC. The stats at the bottom of the sheet are mainly to discern what your character is most knowledgeable about in comparison to the others with the exception of one. We're starting off with 24 to distribute, but you can only put a maximum of 10 points in each category and no less than 1. I'm aiming to get the main thread up Friday or Saturday, so questions are very much encouraged!

CombatKnowledge of combat, military strategy, weapon proficiency, warfare.
CultureKnowledge of languages, history, specific locale, dialects, mannerisms.
CommerceKnowledge of mercantile, trade routes, goods and value in specific areas.
MagicKnowing how your and other people's arcana works, studied innovative or less common uses of magic.
KarmaThe morality slider. The lower this is, the less moral you are.

For some extra clarification:
★ High Magic would allow you to conjure an assault rifle.
★ High Combat would allow you fire it properly.

★ High Culture would allow you to know who the Pope Francis is.
★ High Commerce allows you to sell him Pokemon cards.

★ High Karma makes the guards like you. Low Karma makes the serial killer in the alley like you.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

@Haha You wrote that the judgement arcana is mind affecting magic, so are the illusions more like induced hallucinations in a target or is it like making a hologram that lots of other people can see?

Someone who is *pretty good* at using Judgment, would be able to make someone visually perceive something that's definitely not there. Someone has mastered it could probably trick the mind to see, smell, even feel pain that isn't there. But they're not creating physical material with their brain power.
I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to, welcome aboard.
I don’t know whether I’m going to end up parking this in casual or advanced, but I do know it’ll be ye’ olde 3-5 paragraph minimum posts. The current mission is to get the resources situated, answer any questions that arise, and hopefully get the OOC up this weekend.
That’s plenty enough interest to start fleshing out a proper timeline and some of these locations. For the sake of diversity I am probably going to limit it to one character per arcana, and if you have any questions about them feel free to ask! (*>ω<)ゞ
You have put a lot of work into this. Very impressive. I also enjoy how you’d let your players flesh out a species that they want to play and add their own flavor and lore, if I understood that correctly.

I may be interested in making a Fae Knight type character.

Yep! And if you’d like me to incorporate their culture, just send me your ideas and I’ll weave it in.

For the first time years the advance of these alien entities has faltered. It seemed as if all hope was lost as the almighty beings led armies of those who bowed to them, easily overpowering any who didn’t. Their campaign started from the western and eastern coastlines of the Realm, limiting the resources that the northern and southern territories which still resisted. Famine, in-fighting, and the enemy itself had pushed the rebellious regions to brink of destruction. But with the Rift’s appearance, and the abominations with a taste for false god blood gave those that wished to fight the break they needed.

The Umbral Order, an organization that has fables and boogeyman tales written about its members. They were once thought to be myth, and if the stories were true, whatever remnants existed were likely a shadow of the sect’s former glory. But with the arrival of these eldritch serpents, men in hooded robes of liquid shadow, and masks that stood where a head should be, began to appear in remote areas across the realm. Eerie, nightmarishly frightening as they were, each sought the aid of those with the courage to give their life to take back the Realm.

This leads the player characters to Goeta, a city along the southern edge of the Realm and one of the last hubs of culture and commerce that remains untouched by the spreading influence of the Chosen. Goeta has no rulers and instead is managed by a wealthy moguls who have purchased enough power form themselves. The players will initially be tasked with convincing some of these powerful moguls in the City of Demons to aid in the war effort against the Chosen. Some may be swayed with ease, others may require something in return, and some may have already aligned with your enemy.

Embers to Ashes is primarily influenced by media like; Berserk, Black Clover, Elden Ring, and Final Fantasy. There are themes taken from various forms of mythology with an overarching [Man vs God] thread following narrative from start to finish. While I’m not going to have flesh-eating plagues or fish men, I do intend on having some Lovecraft splashed in as well without muddying the thematic waters too much. The presentation will be meant to make characters who by their own standards are very strong still feel a weak against forces or far greater power, and the intent will be a hard journey to overcome the odds that are against them.

I've taken a LONG break from purely text based roleplaying. Final Fantasy XIV took over my life for a long ass time, and while Island Sanctuary is my current time sink, I won't be progression raiding or roleplaying on Mateus for a while. So the purpose of this would be [if it gets up off the ground] to be my primary creative writing outlet for the time being.

GM posts would be weekly on Friday evenings after all of my grown-up chores are complete, and I'd be pretty lenient on posting speed so long as nobody is doing anything that would hold the rest of the cast up or prevent a major narrative moment from happening. That being said, this is still a major work in progress and I won't be fleshing this out any further unless an inkling of interest is garnered for something of this type.
