In SoL, the 'goals' become the drama and interpersonal connections/histories players make with each other. Plus setting in in places like a school/college for example give you a timeline to work with.

Time to start the hunt for a decent SoL RP. I could make one, but it would be nice to be a player and a GM for once xD

About
Been at this game for a good while now. Starting RPing at the tender age of 15 back when Bebo was a thing. A year later I found myself forum Roleplaying and haven't really looked back since. Over these past ten years I have done practically every kind of RP you could imagine from Nation RPs and Arena RPs to 1x1s and Large group RPs. My last RP hobby was fighting RPs, which I have now decided to leave behind in order to pursue more SoL style Rps.

Outside of RP I am an aspiring writer, despite being terrible with words, as well as an avid gamer. If I am not on discord with the Guild or RPing in some way, I am probably on either my PlayStation or on Steam. Moved into D&D and ended up starting a podcast that has been an interesting journey.

Just to keep everyone in the loop. I am not going through character sheets just yet to give others a chance to put one up. But I will start soon.
@HedgeHawk Are you still open for sheets? I would be super interested. I have a few different ideas so if you’re open to it, we can discuss on pm :)

You are more than welcome to submit a sheet if you want to. I can't guarantee anything at this point though.

Welcome to the town of Tanner, set in the tall trees of Washington State. The small town is to the outside world, a quiet place of nothingness. However, hidden in the American gothic homes, hedgerows and winding streets, is a community in hiding. For you see: Tanner is home to a Witches coven.

Even in these modern times, Witches and supernatural beings creep in the shadows, doing their best to blend in and avoiding suspicion. Things never seem to be that easy however, as beyond the veil lie many creatures who wish to feast on mortals or to subdue them. So, the witches of Tanner stand guard and protect the town from those who wish it harm.

Our story follows the journey of the current cohort of witches at the Tanner coven. Returning fresh from college after several years away. Their parents have all decided to retire from the coven, and instead allow the younger generation to take over. For better or for worse.

Witches and Warlocks
The Tanner coven is made up of both witches and warlocks. The distinction between the two is mostly down to ability level. Witches are stronger while Warlocks tend to be lacking in magical power. It is possible to change from one to another however, and there isn't an official guide as to how strong you have to be to be classed as either. It is generally a community decision within the coven as to where you are placed.

Magical abilities
Magic takes up alot of forms and to list them all would be exhaustive. Every spell you do falls into one of the eight schools of magic: abjuration, alteration (Transmutation) , conjuration, divination, enchantment, illusion, invocation (Destructive/elemental spells) , and necromancy. Warlocks tend to focus on a single school of magic, where as witches tend to be able to specialise in more than one class.

Generally speaking, this is going to be a slower paced RP, designed for people who want to write, but might not be able to write and post within rapid deadlines. Deadlines will be around every two weeks, though once a group has gotten together, we can certainly discuss it in more detail.

Also, I want to be able to have a small group for this RP. I notice the larger the RP gets, the harder it is to try and keep everything going. I am not going to put a hard limit on the number of players, but I may switch it to closed suddenly when I feel we have enough characters and writers.

Post length will of course differ, but on average the minimum will be 2 paragraphs, but my DMs are always open if you are struggling :)

CS is below, Feel free to use it, or if you have something more aesthetically pleasing you would like to use then by all means feel free. As long as you have fun making your character, that is all that matters!

We have Discord too!
Thank you for the interest everyone! Give me a few hours and I will get an OOC together!

Didn't think so many people would be interested haha.

Thank you for reading my IC! It has been a while since I have made one of these, so bear with me, if the formatting isn’t perfect!

Aaron was a very confused man right now. His entire evening had been turned upside down. He had travelled to the gym to try and relax and try to forget all of the emotions that had been reawoken inside his heart. In a small moment his entire peace had been shattered. Phantoms of the past had come rushing in. One by one, until a large group had formed. It didn't help that the first person he saw was Mei. Literally anyone but her. He hasn't kept up with the affairs of his peers after high school, so seeing them all again was something of a shock to the system.

For the most part he has no idea what they were upto. Or what they were doing for that matter. Sure he kept an eye on Jade from afar with social media when he could but that was mostly it. Everyone else in that room was a complete mystery. He was fairly sure that he could say the same about everyone towards him. There was no one in that group that would particularly care about Aaron and his actions, or see any need to keep up with the goings on in his life. Aaron just didn't fit in.

This was true before the fire too. Staring at his fellow former classmates. Aaron knew all too well that High School had not been kind to him. He had ended up staying outside of any social circles, but that was kind of his choice, as well as fate pushing him aside. The popular guy in middle school, wasn't always destined for greatness in High School it seemed. That was his junior year. Coming to the realisation that over the course of the summer vacation everyone around him had grown up. And he hadn't changed at all. Suddenly the guy who had been the centre of life at school, found himself an outcast.

It wasn't any of their faults though; the people standing Infront of Aaron. He wasn't even sure if it was entirely his fault. More a product of circumstance. That was why the tragic death of Alison didn't affect Aaron in the same way as others. He was on the outskirts of school life then, imposing a kind of self isolation on himself In order to protect himself. The presentation went on and Aaron didn't care much for it. If anything he was more annoyed that someone else had invaded his fortress of solitude as well. The group would eventually leave the gym, a slither at a time, until Aaron was once again left on his own. He would continue to sit there in the silence for a good twenty minutes before he began to feel the twinging of muscles in his lower back, which caused several groans of pain to escape his lips.

Reaching over to the bag he had bought with him, he pulled out his new box of tablets. Taking two out, he swallowed them dry with zero liquids. The whole event had forced him to miss his tablet taking time by thirty minutes, so now he was in pain and he had to go home. With several heavy grunts, and one failed attempt, Aaron found himself on his feet. He took his first few steps forward, the first five or so we're always the most awkward. His damaged leg always struggled to find its rhythm.when he started walking. It would eventually even up and Aaron was back to his normal shuffle. He has considered going to investigate the audio visual setup. Perhaps it would reveal who had been sneaking in to set all of this up. However that would mean staying here longer. Aaron wasn't sure he wanted that.

So instead, Aaron shuffled out the way he came and left out through the gym door to the outside world. He wasn't sure of the status of people who had decided to go investigate, unsure if they were even on the school grounds anymore. They could handle themselves however. Aaron wasn't worried. Darkness had started to take over the Edenridge sky and now Aaron needed to get home safely. He already has his route planned. He had come up with a route that used shortcuts, small gaps in trees and other assorted alleyways, to build up a rapid route from his house to the school and vice versa where he was as hidden as he could be. That way he could avoid the general public and avoid any gang members who could make his life a living hell.

Still he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of the dark. It was far easier to be ambushed. Not that it mattered though. Aaron wouldn't be able to properly defend himself even if they came upto him and declared their intentions in broad daylight. Thankfully the journey home was safe and quiet. Just painful. It took him a solid forty minutes to get home and by that time the darkness had truly settled in for the night. His mother would still be at the diner, not she back until about midnight when she was relieved by some out of town uni student who agreed to do graveyard shifts on low pay.

Aaron hobbled into his bedroom and laydown on the bed. He couldn't be bothered with taking his clothes off. That would cause way too much pain. So instead he just stared at the ceiling. Someone was going around and digging up the past of Edenridge. Was it just the Alison event they were going through? Or were they going to start digging up the past year by year? If that was the case…. A dry lump formed in the centre of his non-vocalising throat…. Don't think about it. Just forget about it. It will be fine. You will be fine.
