  • Master of Shadows: Kolby has the ability to create weapons, shields, and all sorts of other shapes with shadows.

  • Shadow Travel: Kolby can use naturally occurring shadows to help himself move across the world. He can step into a shadow in the back of a bar in Washington, and pop out in the bathroom of a cafe in France. Kolby cannot create the shadows through which he passes. The greater the distances, the more exhausted he becomes.
• Necromancy (6):
• Can see here, and talk to the dead.
• Can summon six un-dead warriors to help in battle. These warriors are essentially armored skeletons with (maybe) a few scraps of flesh. They can be defeated by decapitation.
• Can give and take life, by touching something with a natural life source. He cannot kill humans, witches, or anything that seems human at it's core. By touching a human and trying to drain their life force, Kolby can only make them ill, and only to the point of flu like symptoms.
• Tricking the Senses: Kolby can blind or deafen one target for up to one minute. He has to chose one or the other - it cannot be both. The target must be within a fifteen foot radius.

On the outside looking in, Kolby is a charming young man. He has a way with the ladies, and isn't scared to flirt. He is rather attentive, often leading to moments in conversations where people are shocked that he remembers small details from a story they told months ago. He's a regular everyday guy, doing his best to impress. He's extremely competitive - often erring on the side of aggressive - and loves a challenge. Rather charismatic, when Kolby speaks, people tend to listen.

Underneath his skin, Kolby is a troubled boy. He punches walls to release his frustrations. He drinks whiskey in order to laugh. He smokes cigarettes to stop his hands from shaking. He plays piano to calm his nerves. Sex is nothing but a way to release frustration. Kolby is fiercely loyal, and protects the ones he loves. Some may call the way he acts possessive. Despite all of this, Kolby is his biggest critic, and his worst downfall.

Aside from that, he's a major fuckboy.

History/Bio:

• Kolby was born and raised in Tanner, though his upbringing was a bit different from that of his peers. While the Hawthorne families name carried a proper weight in Tanner, Kolby's parents were a disgrace to the Hawthorne name. His mother was an addict, his father was physically and verbally abusive. They only ever used their magic to harm others, and to benefit themselves. Kolby didn't have much training in his formative years. He spent most of his time finding small spaces to hide in, or blending in with the shadows. The kids at school were mean; While Kolby didn't quite understand why his family was looked at differently, he knew from a very young age that he wasn't necessarily welcome in the Coven - he was there because of technicalities. When Kolby's mother died, his grandmother, Isabella stepped forward. She dragged her son-in-law through a six month court battle in which she won custody over Kolby. After the court case was over, Kolby never saw his father again. For the first time since he was born, Kolby finally had a good, calm influence.
• Isabella did her best, but the morals and ways that Kolby's parents had taught him for the last ten years had already began to stick. While she could teach Kolby how to charm and dress like a proper gentleman, she Isabella Rossi never could tame her grandsons anger. For the next six years, Kolby went everywhere Isabella did. The Apothecary, the grocery store, Coven meetings, etc. She focused on training him to be a proper adult, and as good of a person as she could make him. Isabella found other witches and warlocks to train Kolby physically, while she studied more on book work. While Kolby has her to thank for everything, Isabella passed from old age when Kolby was seventeen years of age. Turning eighteen in just three months, Kolby spent the remainder of his 'child hood' living at the Coven House.
• Kolby's high school life was hectic. At school he was known for being one of the biggest and baddest bullies around. While he didn't typically hang out with any particular crowd, Kolby's name was known around Tanner High School for a multitude of things: Drugs, sex, fights, suspensions and vandalism being the main ones. He spent more time partying under the bleachers than he did anything.
• After high school, Kolby did his best to find more of his family, which landed him in New York. Shortly after arriving in the City of Dreams, Kolby learned that he didn't really have any family to find. He worked odd jobs on the side while soaking up the culture of the city until eventually landing himself a gig as a tattoo artist. He is returning to Tanner in hopes of a fresh start, and with the dream that people won't treat him like the kid he used to be. The question is, however, has Kolby earned his redemption?

  • Spiritually Gifted: Ever since she was little, Lilith has always heard 'voices' in her head. Little did she know that these were her own spirit guides. Through years and years of training, and lots of trial and error, Lilith can now safely and effectively communicate with her spirit guides. She does this mostly through tarot, using her pendulum, and keeping her eyes open for 'angel numbers'. She also still hears her guides voices in her head, but she can now chose when to receive their messages instead of having all of theirs and her thoughts jumbled as one. Lilith communicates with her spirit guides for guidance and clarity. While she will often ask her guides questions for other people, the answers can vary from super helpful to a simple 'fuck off'. Ultimately, these are Lilith guides, and they are here for her - not for you. Their answers are attuned to Lilith, and her life. While she might be able to ask her guides for guidance for you, they aren't going to be able to give you the clarity that you are seeking. When Lilith asks for guidance from her spirit guides for other people, it is easiest to receive answers back for the people who have the strongest emotional connections to Lilith.
  • Empathy: Lilith is an empathy, through and through. Her gut feeling and general intuition have never steered her wrong.   • Languages: Lilith can hear and speak any and all languages, if she is spoken to first in a foreign language. She can also read all 'written' languages, but only if she is holding a physical copy of it, such as a book. She cannot read other languages online. She cannot read hieroglyphics and the like. She can communicate telepathically with all mammals.
  • Mind Reading: If Lilith is looking at a person, she has the ability to read their current, passing thoughts. She can only do this for about three minutes, and it gives her a splitting headache after. It also leaves her body in a vulnerable state, as she tends to zone out and just stand or sit in one place like a zombie. Lilith cannot access any 'deep' or subconscious thoughts - only what you think while she's inside your head.
• Abjuration (5):
  
  • Banishment: Lilith has the ability to banish up to three enemies to different dimensional planes. This spell lasts for thirty minutes. When banishing a target, Lilith either sends them back to their home realm, or the 'Shadow Realm' for holding. After the spell breaks, the target will return to it's previous location. Even though she can banish three targets in total, she must do a different spell each time she wishes to banish someone/something. (The shadow realm is just a black room, with no ending, and no beginning. The closer you walk to the walls, the further they seem away from you).
  • Aid/Healing: Lilith can heal people through Abjuration. She can heal cuts, bruises, scraps, broken bones, and the like. The time it takes to complete the spell depends on the severity of the wound. She cannot heal life threatening injuries, or amputations. Lilith can also help with mental ailments. If you're feeling sad, she can give you a boost of happiness. If you're nervous, she can calm you. So on and so forth. Lilith cannot cause feelings like sadness and anger. In order to heal anyone physically or mentally, Lilith has to make physical contact with the person.
  • Projection Shield: Lilith can project a 7 foot by 8 foot shield in front of her that deflects and absorbs enemy attacks. She can project this shield up to five feet away from herself, leaving room for her allies to also get behind the shield and protect themselves. This Shield only lasts for ten minutes at a time.
    
    • Personal Shield: Lilith's personal shield is a faint blue, shimmering glow that flows all over her body. This shield also deflects and absorbs enemy attacks, leaving her nearly invulnerable for thirty minutes. Lilith can only use this power once a day.

On the outside looking in, Lilith is one of the most happy, socially awkward people that you could ever meet. Always saying something goofy, and having a way with words, she's the kind of girl to have a handful of friends - though she prefers spending her time alone. Having social anxiety is perhaps the reason for her social awkwardness, which causes her to say and do really random things in public. Lilith is the type of girl that may come off as a bitch from time to time. Rather this is because of her sarcastic remarks or the way she rolled her eyes - well, that's up to you.

The fun, somewhat shy, bubbly side is the mask that Lilith wears on a day to day basis. However, that's the cover-up that she puts on. The truth is, Lilith suffers from depression. The girl tends to keep her emotions bottled inside and simply does her best to release them through writing, studying, and marijuana usage. Hot headed as they come, it's a fortunate thing that Lilith knows when to bite her tongue. If she blows up on you, you've had that shit coming for a long while.

Lilith is a very loyal person, and will do practically anything for her friends. She doesn't trust or get attached to too many people, so when and if you hurt her, expect her to cut you out of her life completely. A promise means everything, and she will never break one. Lilith is honest to her core, and her respect is earned. She has no time for cruel or false intentions, and expects people to treat her with that same respect.

She is typically found reading or listening to music. She enjoys YA novels like The Maze Runner, Harry Potter, and the like; There's also a good mix of adult novelists like Stephen King. With a close emotional connection to the night sky, Lilith enjoys spending hours outside at night staring at the stars. An even stronger connection to the ocean, she has no hesitation with driving to the coast for the weekend. Stubborn as can be, she sometimes has trouble accepting things as how they are. Her witty remarks often get her called sharp tongued; her dark humor winds up in her getting called crazy here and there.

The young woman hates drama, gossip, and any other thing of the sort - though she has no problem listening to it. She just doesn't want to be an actual part of it. Of course, if you ask her how she is doing, you will receive a great and a goofy thumbs up. Not being able to express herself truthfully angers her to no end, though, just like her true feelings, she doesn't let it show. In short, the girl is a half read book. To know her, you must first know the whole story.

History/Bio:

• Lilith's mother, Claire, was an Invocation Witch, specializing in water, wind, and electricity manipulation. Lilith never knew her father, seeing as he fled when he heard the news that Claire was pregnant. All Lilith knows of her father is that he was a Transformation and Divination witch. Lilith had a relatively happy childhood, though the voices in her head always drove her a little crazy. When she was little, her mother used to say that this was her conscious speaking to her, and for a long time that's what Lilith believed. Born and raised for the first ten years of her life in a small, Western North Carolina town, Claire and Lilith moved to Tanner Washington after Claire's mother, Christine, was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Claire spent long hours at the hospital working as an ER nurse, often leaving Lilith to be taken care of by her grandfather, John Montgomery. John was a Necromancy Witch, way, way back in the day; While he didn't use his powers very often any more due to his age, John was and still is a force to be reckoned with - especially when it comes to his granddaughter. While Claire taught Lilith everything that she could, John is the one who Lilith truly thanks for teaching her what she knows about Magic.
• Christine passed when Lilith was twelve, and Claire died in a car crash when Lilith was fourteen. This left Lilith to be taken care of completely by her grandfather. John raised Lilith to be strong and independent. Knowing that he wouldn't be there to take care of Lilith one day, he wanted to make sure that he did everything that he could to make sure that she would succeed. He lent her old grimoires, trained with her, and most importantly - he never made her feel like she was crazy. It took a long time for Lilith to realize the voices that she was hearing were her spirit guides, and her grandfather was the only one that never brushed her off, or treated her like she belonged in an asylum. John taught Lilith how to cook, clean, change the oil in her car, and many other basic life skills. He also gave her chores on the family ranch that the live on, making sure that she had a good work ethic and learned discipline.
• Lilith's reputation in high school was pretty much non existent. Known as a chameleon, Lilith could go anywhere and talk to anyone, and blend in with any crowd - but only if she was feeling confident enough to do so. She attended quite a handful of parties, and blended in with the stoners. She never had the desire to participate in any sports or clubs, already busy enough with her chores at home and practicing magic. Lilith's presence in the Coven is very well known, and she has always been sought out by other witches and warlocks in times of guidance.
• Lilith has zero desire to work for 'the man' - which is why she never went to college. While she had always planned to do so, once she had graduated, Lilith realized she had no idea what she actually wanted to do with her life. She knows that one day she will inherent the ranch, but is that really what she wants to dedicate her life to?

• Works on the family ranch, known to the town as Rocky River Ranch. They sell cattle, crops, chickens and horses. The ranch does employ seasonal and full time workers. The is made up of 1000 acres of land. The land holds access to large river, rolling fields, and access to mountain ranges.
• For actual income, Lilith is a bartender at Huskers Bar & Grill on Main Street.

Yeah. Haley has it down. Warlocks know a singular school where Witches know three sometimes four. Witches tend to have a higher base level of magic, so a fireball from a witch is generally more powerful than a warlocks.

I based the magic of the DnD schools to make it easier for people to come up with possible magics and spells. That way people could Google a spell list for inspiration. But you don't have to stick to it, so long as a spell matches one of the schools of magic, go wild!

• Fiery Blade - Hayden can create a blade made of fire in her hand at will. She can control the length of the blade, from a switchblade, right upto a longsword. She doesn’t get burnt by the fire while holding the blade.
• Wall of Force - Hayden calls forth an invisible wall that is ¼ inch thick. She can wrap and warp the wall as she sees fit into a 10ft radius sphere at its largest. The invisible barrier is immune to dispel magic, at least from Warlocks. Witches it is a bit more touch and go.

Personality: Pride would be the defining characteristic of Hayden if you had to pick a singular descriptor. Beyond that, nothing pleasant can be said for her. She prefers to be the aggressor rather than the defender, and will happily resort to violence if she thinks it will get what she wants.

Loyalty ain’t one of her strong suits either. She has no issue switching sides, abandoning people, or even just making friends with enemies if she thinks it gets her closer to her goals. Getting her to commit to anything can be a task. She does have some honour. Just good luck finding it. She keeps it very close to her chest and reserves it for only the closest people in her life.

History/Bio: Growing up in the bustling New York city was a tough experience. The city was filled with covens, some of them acting more like magical gangs and trying to turf in on other covens. Even the supernatural world isn’t protected from organized crime. Her parents were part of a Brooklyn Coven that took loyalty to the coven very seriously, so Hayden was pretty much brought up within the covens walls.

It was here that she learnt a valuable lesson: Acting unhinged certainly does put people on the back foot and causes them to cave into your demands sooner. Being unpredictable breeds fear. It was a creed that Hayden took into her late teens, resorting to become a petty criminal and racking up quite the nice potential charge list. She didn’t however reveal magic to mortals. If anyone asks, she really was holding a burning knife in her hand.

She eventually bumped into Kolby Hawthorne and the duo started a strange fuck and fight dynamic, where they ended up being in and out of a relationship faster than a revolving door, but no matter how far she went away from Kolby, protective Kobly would be around the corner, ready to beat down on whoever she had her eye on. They ended up doing crime together, and when Kolby revealed he was moving back to Tanner, she was ready to break up and find a new boy to hang onto.

That was until her criminal past caught up with her, and people began to hunt her down. Sensing that she might be in danger, she decided to instead convince Kolby to take her to Tanner and join the coven there. A place where she could lay low…. And admire the new eye candy of the small isolated town.

• Protective Barrier - Carlisle is adept at creating magical barriers to protect himself and his friends if need be. He can create barriers of varying shapes and sizes depending on his need. He does however, have to focus and concentrate to maintain the barrier. The stronger and bigger the barrier the more concentration it takes.
• Dispel Magic - Being a Abjurer, Carlisle is talented at removing magical effects off items and people. How long it takes, and the side effects for doing so, depend entirely on the strength of the magic used to create it.
• Counterspell - The classic spell for frustrating mages, If Carlisle can react in time he can seemingly counter any spell and nullify its effects. It all boils down to if can create enough energy to counter his opponents spells, and being a warlock... Not as easy as it sounds.

Personality:Carlisle can be a difficult person to get along with. Not because he is a bad person. In fact the opposite is quite true. But mostly because he can be intensive. He means extremely well, but the intensity of which he engages himself with his friends and relations, can put people off.

Simply put, Carlisle is a problem solver. Once you disclose a problem to him, he simply must solve it for you. And if you are a friend, then this is a much bigger double down. He will work away until the issue you have bought towards him has been dealt with. Even if this means going behind your back unintentionally. To Carlisle he is simply helping you out. But this spreads much farther than just problems. Carlisle believes that he has to constantly prove the worth of his relationships. Unless he is being useful, then he isn't being a friend.

This temperament leads Carlisle to treat his friends with gifts and money whenever issues arrive. Need $40 for gas? Just mention to Carlisle that you are struggling in passing conversation and the next thing you know, you have $100 in your hands. This has naturally led to vultures circling around him, and on one too many occasion has someone with manipulative intentions got close to Carlisle just to enjoy the ride. And while the rest of the world can see it, Carlisle is blind to the con. Mostly because he thinks that this is normal in a friendship. It usually takes intervention on his friends' part to rescue him.

This all stems from Carlisle's lack of confidence to be sure in what he does. From love, leadership and friends, Carlisle is constantly second guessing himself, even if he doesn't show it right away, that little voice in the back of his mind is badgering away. This can manifest itself in indecisiveness or an unwillingness to commit to something. And as a result numerous opportunities have passed him by and gone as he fails to act, or believes he should not.

Ultimately though, Carlisle's Heart is in the right place. He is a defender and problem solver, ready to ease the burdens of everyone around him. To improve their lives and ignore the consequences that should fall upon himself. As his father once told him: "The happiness of others trumps the happiness of yourself. If you can make one person happy, at the cost of your happiness, then it is worth it." Carlisle lives and breathes this expression now. The question remains, what else will he end up giving up? And what happens when a good man has nothing else left to give?

History/Bio: The Aston family is one of the three families in Tanner that founded the original coven. As such the family name has always commanded alot of respect. Such a shame that Carlisle can’t quite live upto it. Being the first in the bloodline to be ranked as a Warlock. Just to add a little more insult to the wound of his family name, he began to show proficiency in abjuration magic, rather than one of the more ‘useful’ schools of magic.

Suffice to say, the result of his magical upbringing had a knock on effect to his confidence, and going to college was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter for Carlisle. However, he couldn’t quite keep up with the demands of college life, and in a strange way became home sick of his small town home. He ended up dropping out in his first year, once again to the disappointment of his parents.

So instead of going to college, Carlisle ended up working for the coven full time. He became the groups defacto administrator, a roll which his parents intend for him to keep, For if he can’t be a powerful witch, he might as well become part of the furniture.

	Hayden Kersey "She seems wound up. Hopefully she won’t cause trouble" Being new to the coven means that Carlisle doesn't have much of an opinion of her. The fact that she is attached to Kolby gives her negative points, as he hasn't had any bad interactions with the female. So for now at least he is going to give her the benefit of the doubt.
	Aurora Newman "Aurora is nice. One of the Covens older members, and she always seems helpful" Carlisle gets on with Aurora. He appreciates the confidence that she puts in him, which is more than most. He is somewhat self-conscious about betraying that confidence and sometimes feels like he is walking on eggshells with Aurora in order to not blow it.
	Lilith Montgomery "Ummm. Where to start? She is cool, awesome, kind. I love it when she wears fishnets. I'm not blushing, you are!" Carlisle loves Lilith. He thinks that she is amazing, flaws and all. He wants to support her, but ends up going off on a tangent, and usually making things worse. They have grown closer than ever during the previous summer, However with the return of Miles, his paranoia came back, and he was desperate to try and close the deal. It backfired big time, and now a rift stands between them.
	Kolby Hawthorne "Bad boy who things he is tough. Okay. Maybe he is tough" Carlisle doesn't like Kolby. Is it for petty reasons? Yes. Carlisle got into a fight with Kolby in High School and ended up getting flattened, spending a whole week in the ER. Even after college, Carlisle is still salty about it. He is fairly sure Kolby doesn't like him either. So it's okay to be petty.
	Serena Delamar "Possibly the strongest Witch in the coven. She is a constant threat to me. But for the sake of the Coven we need to learn to be civil" Serena and Carlisle are certainly not friends. But they have had to spend alot of their teen years together whether they liked it or not. Carlisle can be petty, but Serena gives as good as she gets. She is confident enough in her abilities, something Carlisle lacks. Moving forward Carlisle is trying to offer her a branch at least work with her.
	Erin Blake "If she wasn't so attached to her cousin, I would certainly spend more time with her. She seems cool" Carlisle would be closer to Erin, if it wasn’t for her close connection to Serena. While photography and Nature aren’t exactly his strong suits, he would gladly spend his time supporting her and trying to be interested in it. They have the odd conversation around the coven, and sometimes Carlisle offers to model for her test shoots.
	Victor Crowe "Loyalty to the Coven is unquestionable, Quiet Fellow mostly." Carlisle gets along with Victor, but this is mostly in just a professional capacity at the coven. He doesn’t really hang around with or speak to Victor otherwise. Not that he doesn’t like him, just the chance hasn’t really came up.
	Daniel Cooper "Macho Man. Yeah. That’s it" Carlisle and Daniel don’t exist in the same social circles outside of the coven, but that doesn’t mean that Carlisle dislikes him. He seems to be serious about protecting the coven, which is always a big smiley face in Carlisle’s book.
	Miles Price "My main man! My dude! My sidekick… wait, am I his sidekick?" Carlisle and Miles have been best buds since… Carlisle can’t actually remember. Much to the disdain of his mother, who refers to Miles as ‘it’ or the ‘street urchin’. Things were great until Miles reached his skirt chasing phase, and the cracks started to show. Miles regularly whisked away or snapped up any girl Carlisle showed interest in. In college they shared a dorm room and Carlisle was regularly ‘asked’ to sit out in the corridor while Miles entertained his latest girl. Still Miles has defended Carlisle multiple times against bullies and they are still close. Secretly, Carlisle is worried about Lilith and Miles being close again given his crush on her.
	Catherine Hierich "I remember the name. Not the face. Or is it the other way around?" Carlisle and Cat have had very little interaction beyond just saying hello. Amanda warned him to avoid stay away from her, but didn’t provide any reasons. Either way, Carlisle is eager to interact with her when opportunities arise.
	Delaney Barlowe "You make one mistake in training and suddenly you are shit" Carlisle and Delaney have minimal interaction. Mostly because Delaney doesn’t really seem to dig him and he gets the impression she is only being polite due to her closeness to Lil. That seems to be a common thing. During training in High school, Carlisle was tasked with defending a group of covenmates from Serena. He was under intense pressure from Serena and wasn’t able to shield Delaney in time, causing her to get hit by a fireball. Since then, the woman hasn’t thought highly of his abilities.
	Jazrina Heartwood "I have seen her around, but she is too old for me to interact with that much before college" Age was the biggest issue between Jaz and Carlisle really talking. He was a Freshman/Sophomore when she was in senior year. Still, he gets no bad vibes off her and is looking forward to interacting with her more now he is back from college. He would be lying if he didn’t find her a little attractive. But the age gap is something that bothers him.
	Zach Carter "He is a bully and a jerk. Plus him and Miles are friends for some reason" Carlisle harbours alot of ill will towards Zach. Going both to the same High school and college, the duo were always in competition for Mile’s time. In college, Zach was one of the people digging into Mile’s for bringing Carlisle to parties. So much so the duo ended up physically fighting on several occasions. Carlisle still feels terrible for Miles having to do that, and squarely lays the blame at Zach’s feet.
	Rowan Gale "If an apocalypse came tomorrow, I would want Rowan by my side." The duo seem to get along okay. From Carlisle’s point of view, despite not interacting much one on one. Despite being the sporty type, Carlisle has respect for the man. He has also been meaning to try and see if Rowan would make a new desk for the Coven leaders office. He detests the current one. And detests flatpack furniture even more.
	Tristan Pearson "He seems cool. I just wish I didn’t have to keep replacing half the alchemy lab. Or the ceiling" Carlisle is somewhat cautious around Tristan. Perhaps it is his love for experimentation that puts Carlise on edge, but he views the male as reckless. He doest’ harbour any ill will however.
	Lydia Pearson "Pretty sure I have seen her at parties she wasn’t supposed to be at" If Tristan was too old to be Calrisle’s circle, then Lydia was too young. He did see her around the coven, and she seems nice, if not a little obsessed with boys who aren't him.
	Kirstie Wheeler "She may have been in charge of the cafeteria, but this is my coven" Carlisle tried to avoid Kirstie as he grew up. She was always able to find him and cause some kind of havoc. She was always surrounded by those screeching hyenas she called friends. He is quietly hoping that without her entourage, Kirstie might be a little bit more amenable to teamwork.

The Witches & Warlocks of Tanner 2.0

Welcome to the picturesque small town of Tanner, set in the tall trees of Washington State. The town is to the outside world, a quiet place of nothingness. However, hidden in the American gothic homes, hedgerows and winding streets, is a community in hiding. For you see: Tanner is home to a Witches coven.

Even in these modern times, Witches and supernatural beings creep in the shadows, doing their best to blend in and avoiding suspicion. Things never seem to be that easy however, as beyond the veil lie many creatures who wish to feast on mortals or try to subdue them. So, the witches of Tanner stand guard and protect the town from those who wish it harm. Even if the residents would freak out if they knew the truth.

Our story follows the journey of the current cohort of witches at the Tanner coven. Returning fresh from college after several years away. Their parents have all decided to retire from the coven, and instead allow the younger generation to take over. For better or for worse. Oddly, no one seems to be able to give a reason as to why the decision was made.

Witches and Warlocks
The Tanner coven is made up of both witches and warlocks. The distinction between the two is down to ability level rather than gender identity. Witches are stronger while Warlocks tend to be lacking in magical power. It is possible to change from one to another however, and there isn't an official guide as to how strong you have to be to be classed as either. It is generally a community decision within the coven as to where you are placed.

Magical abilities
Magic takes up alot of forms and to list them all would be exhaustive. Every spell you do falls into one of the eight schools of magic: Abjuration, Alteration (Transmutation) , Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Illusion, Invocation (Destructive/elemental spells) , and Necromancy. Warlocks tend to focus on a single school of magic, where as witches tend to be able to specialise in more than one class.

We are back! Thank you life for getting in the way last time

Generally speaking, this is going to be a slower paced RP, designed for people who want to write, but might not be able to write and post within rapid deadlines. Deadlines will be around every two weeks, though once a group has gotten together, we can certainly discuss it in more detail.

Post length will of course differ depending on the circumstances, and I am not one to be pushy or judgey. As long as your overall average is two paragraphs, everything is fine. Collabs are allowed and encouraged if you feel it makes more sense. Just bear in mind that collabs don’t extend post timers!

After returning to the group he noticed that it had certainly gotten bigger. Which was good. He was glad that people had decided to heed the call of their parents. In an odd way he had half expected it to be just him, Lilith and Yuna. Taking a quick scan at the room he began doing an impromptu roll call in his head. He noticed Catherine and Victor together as a duo, and his eyes then moved over to Yuna; who in all honesty probably didn't want to be here. No sign of her brother though… Dia had also arrived, as did Miles.

His scan was going well, but suddenly dipped when his eyes set on Kolby. It was almost like his blood went cold. Perhaps Carlisle was the unforgetting and unforgiving type, but Carlisle wouldn't exactly call Kolby a comrade. In High School they certainly didn't get on and even ended up coming to blows. Now time might have changed Kolby, but the pessimist in Carlisle refused to think for a second that it could be true. What was more curious was the woman that he had with her. Not a coven member to be sure.

Despite the extra addition, Carlisle's mind drifted to the figure that he couldn't see around: Celeste. The likely situation was that she was running late, most likely kept with her parents briefing her on everything that happened while she was away, and the awkward situation about Carlisle being in charge. Was it a bad thing that Carlisle actually hoped that Celeste had instead decided not to come back? Still he had a job to do, so with a clearing of his throat he began to speak.

"Thank you for coming so quickly everybody. I know that it was most likely a bit of a shock to suddenly be recalled here so quickly, also with the end of college and what not only just happening. Just as many of us thought we had escaped we get pulled back in again right" Carlisle let out a little chuckle, disguising the fact he had been here all along and glossing over the fact he dropped out of college, with only Lilith and Yuna being the ones to know the truth.

"Still, we all knew that this day would eventually come, and we would be called back to Tanner to see to the coven. None of us expected it to be this fast. But our parents all seemed to want to retire early, and we just have to roll with the cards we have been dealt." A lump began to form on the insides of Carlisle's throat. He had been speaking to people publicly for too long and now his anxiety was starting to take hold and dig its claws into the edges of his mind. If he had ever hoped to become leader he had to dig deep and push through. With a soft cough and a little stuttering of words, Carlisle eventually continued.

"Given the sudden turn around of events, the council did not have time to select a replacement for my mother to lead the coven. So in the interim, they have asked if I would be willing to step in and be interim leader until the council have made their final choice. I know that being a Warlock means that me becoming a leader is a bit… unconventional, and many of you probably expected Celeste to be standing here in my place, myself included. I do hope however that this arrangement isn't a problem for anyone?" Carlisle took a moment to gather his words while he let that question hang in the air. He decided to omit the fact that the council had wanted Celeste to be in his place right now, and it was only through his mother's insistence that he was here instead.

"Okay, normally we would spend a few days getting to know each other and resettling back into Tanner, but sadly, we have to get to business. As something is going on in Tanner. I am not sure from memory if any of you are Abjurers, if you are, you have probably been feeling the same sensation I have been feeling. For the uninitiated, Tanner is protected by a magical ward that is designed to keep most of the more… feral members of our supernatural family away from Tanner. However, recently, that barrier appears to have been weakened and there appears to have been a breach. I don't know exactly what might have caused it, or what might have come through, but if it is a threat to us, or a threat to Tanner in general, we need to deal with it." Carlisle pulled the chair out from the dining room table and decided to sit down as he continued to speak.

"I appreciate that for some of you, you may need to settle in as you may have only arrived in Tanner. That is perfectly fine. You are more than welcome to stay at your family homes, or move in here to some the bedrooms here. Please take some time aclimiatise if you need to. However, I do intend to go out into the outskirts of Tanner and see if I can find this breach. I could use some people to come with me if they would like to volunteer." This was the moment for Carlisle, if no one did agree to come with him, then he might as well just quit now. To say he was nervous was an understatement. The conversation he had previously with Lilith was eating away at his mind too.

"Also Kolby, I see you have bought a guest with you. I don't remember being informed of anyone new joining the coven? Care to introduce her to everyone else?" The words leaving Carlisle's mouth weren't venomous, but were certainly alot more arsey and sassy than the rest of his speech. Turns out, turning to passive aggression was a great way to suppress his nerves. Even if it could have unintended consequences.
