And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Depends. The characters are currently considering heading out, but Croaks could just as well have them stay at the bar for a while longer while he preps some stuff. "Bloody bloodhounds trying to pass off as people" as the usual gangster might put it would have a harder time getting in though, so it might take Scarlett a fair bit of time to make it either way. What comes to me most naturally would be to arrange their meeting elsewhere at a later time. Which is why I wanted to chat about it, to have everyone be on the same page.
@SleepingSilence
So, were you looking to join me and @13org for something or will you be resuming in doing your own thing for now? If you want to pop in we should probably discuss some plausible scenario for that to happen before I post something on the contrary :P
Is this open to new players? Looks fun ^^

Absolutely! Come on in, we have…… Hm, it is probably for the better I don't list all that. Either way, as far as I am concerned you are welcome to join us.
The questions asked of Leosin were ones he, quite unfortunately, found himself unable to answer. Well, other than the adult dragon part of if he had seen one. He shook his head and breathed deep in preparation. Looking first at Brannor, he answered to the best of ability in the order the questions had been asked: "I cannot say. I have never been to the caves. Only those approved by the leaders other than Cyanwrath could go. And they know people by faces, so few were those numbers. Much more food went in than people went in and out though, so I have my suspicions on there either being a larger force than I was led to otherwise believe… or eggs in numbers I would rather not even consider." Options were open, of course, but neither of them sounded particularly good to the future of the adventurers.

The matter of the dragon was an equal mystery to him however. "Of that, I know as much as you, if not less. I was down in the town when it assaulted the keep for the final time. As for how I know, I joined the mob of cultists when they were drawing back. I had all night to talk with them, find out what they were here for. But once morning rose, the black half-dragon found me. And so I ended up where you would later come to find me." The monk sighed, letting his head hang for a moment before raising it back up again.

"Speaking of the half-dragons, you would be surprised to find what I heard of Cyanwrath. As brutal as the individual is, he seems to have a very rigid sense of personal honour. Those of the cult were afraid of him, not wanting to cross the lines this code set around him. That would explain the challenge he threw at you, champion", he would add on his own, nodding towards Brannor as he addressed him. "But did you have any other questions before I move on to what I have to request of you?"

Well now they were actually getting somewhere. So, Davison had found himself new clients. Didn't sound all that implausible actually. He'd always tried to see if he could get the gang to buy just a bit more lead. If they would be looking for something just a little higher end. He had wanted those eurobucks. But being a dumb fuck about it did tend to get one into trouble. Yeah, figures. Croaks glanced at Ribby, who he found was already looking at him. The two nodded at each other and returned to listening what there was to be said, though the rapping of the fingers on the gun of Croaks' didn't cease for a moment.

Ribby was happy to hear that the broker indeed had something new to tell them, but it would take a fair bit more for Croaks to be as impressed. What had been told was something, sure, meant he didn't need to go talking to rivals, but he wouldn't really have gone talking to rivals in the first place. Unless this Nina had more to tell, it was as good as a waste of money. But since she knew things, they wouldn't be gunning her down at least, that much was clear. No reason to tell her that just yet though. Could get more out of her that way.

Ribby didn't like how she played her cards on trying to get them to be staying customers so plainly on the table. It took balls, sure, and that was a good thing in someone they needed on the streets, but that was just bad business practice. And it made this a binary decision, more or less. If they'd go to anyone else she would take it personally now. And that would mean losing a contact. Bad, but nothing irrecoverable. Just something one would rather avoid. Croaks didn't mind one way or the other though. He spent this time drawing a deep breath and pushing the air through his nose with an annoyed glance that said "hurry up" written on his face. After all, his role was that of the impatient one.

At least it didn't take much of vocal encouragement to get the broker to go on. According to her, it was likely that the other people were other megacorporation bodies, and now Murkywater was mad because that meant weapons in the wrong hands. That would make this a bit beyond the capabilities of a gang like theirs and the worry reflected off of Ribby's face, but Croaks took it with the disinterested gesture of raising his gun a bit and dusting the body of it of imaginary dust with his palm and running his fingertips over the magazine embedded in the plastic. It was speculation, little more than that. Nothing to get worried about. Could just have been gangs the corporation was trying to hold back just as well.

It was when she switched subjects to the beanie head that Croaks set the gun back down again and took a sip of his drink before leaning a bit closer towards Nina. This was something he really preferred to know. She was more or less certain that the man had megacorp connections, though Ribby could actually confirm that for her. "I'll give you a nugget, but I'm gonna cut that from the pay. The guy that fits that description and showed his face here just when the lieutenant went missing? Ya, he had a logo on both the beanie and the trench. All in black, so hard to see, but I could bet my arse the "MW" would stand for that Murkywater lot", the brains offered to cut a small deal with the one that liked knowledge for sales purposes. And with her having offered a partnership of sorts not long before the offer, he figured it would do no harm.

"About that partnership though…", he would add before sucking air in through his teeth and raising his glass to his lips, Croaks knowing all too well what that sign was. Ribby was jealous. He'd called this woman over to help Croaks out, and now she was winking and offering partnerships and all, and to top it off she wasn't ugly or anything. The bigger man smirked and let out a muffled chortle before again turning back from his 'brother' to Nina.

"Yeah. We can do things with the data. As long as it turns out its all true, you'll be just fine as well", he responded and dug out a small stack of eurobucks from his back pocket, having to lift his rear off the chair for a moment to be able to reach. "Lessee here…", he mumbled while flipping over a few of the inconsequential bills while Ribby performed the actual procuring of money and tossed a small chipcard onto the table before Nina. "Ah, there we go", Croaks would put his wallet down and nod towards the payment on the table. "About that gang up though. Wanna talk more 'bout it? Cuz I'll be heading out anyhow, and it won't hurt to have people on the side."

@13org
@Hekazu You're still in a diner with @13org, even though I'm not entirely sure the location was specified in terms of distance from the ongoing chaos. I'll have to check again. What do you expect to do in the near future? Want some extra drama to kick in the front door? But not really, maybe. :P

Not a diner actually, a bar if it can be called such. A drinking hole, at the very least. No distance to any other scene of action has been specified, other than the fact it is quite near to a river. In the near future, they'll probably wrap up their talk and look into what's next, splitting ways or going at it in a group. If you want to come in kicking through doors though, you gotta remember you are busting into a gang hideout, more or less. With police grade weapons, a definite numbers advantage and all that. Exercise caution.
As for why I haven't posted yet, I prefer to give other characters a chance to progress their own things before taking over the whole RP for the arc we have going with @13org.
The Druid had sought Leosin out on his own initiative, but this meant the speech of the governor could not come to pass until they would be fetched. Before the monk had had any time to answer, a few guards had found their way into the infirmary and politely requested the Druid to come with them. Leosin had promised to answer the question at a better time, and so the old man departed peacefully, to be brought before the people and praised as the hero he was. The Governor was quite adamant about this. None of the participants would be left out. And Leosin did appreciate the moment to gather his thoughts, even if said matter was not communicated between the two.

And in time, the heroes would move in to greet the man as he had requested. He was already looking much better than the night before, proper care doing wonders, but there was no mistaking the wary movement and the slight tremble in his arms: He was still weakened, but much like the day before his mind held strong. The weakness of flesh would pass. It was the strength of will that mattered. "I believe the proper order of addressing the matters at hand is to start with a thank you, though I am sure you have already been showered with gratitude. There was so much more to learn, but I will have to admit I was perhaps too stubborn for my own good. I did not have much time left one way or the other, so the rescue came at a good time. For that, you have my thanks."

He then turned towards Torus, intent on giving his answer to the earlier question: "As for your inquiry of solidarity, this is something I already have shared with the Governor, but you will no doubt be interested in hearing just as well. What I know of the Cult." He had played his hand, and at this point it would be quite apparent for Orchid that there was no food coming from this man, not unless one were to count information as sustenance of the mind. That would have to come later, if the half-orc could stretch his patience long enough to listen, rather than leave out of boredom or discomfort.

Leosin closed his eyes and drew a deep breath, opening them again once he finished his exhale, setting his hands into his lap with his fingers laced around one another. "They are breeding dragons in the cave", he stated as the first thing and looked up to the others to see what they thought of the matter before going on. "It was all started by one of the two half-dragons on scene, Rezmir I believe by her name, set the camp up. The rest came in with what they had looted in the past, and Greenest was only conveniently close for them. But in the cave at the back of the camp, where only those approved by Rezmir or Morndath, the one that deals with everyday business, could enter. As it happens, that is also where the treasures were stashed."

With these things said, the monk let his eyes wander about the group of individuals that had formed into a formidable force over the last few days, if rumours were to be believed. And with him having seen them in action, there was no denying that. But what would they say of this? Did they already know it all? Was some, or perhaps even all of it news? Would there be questions? But whatever it was that would happen, it was only polite to let them have a word in just as well. And it let him take a breather.

I just need to point out that it would have been just as hard for Kyra to have checked whether the other cultists were dead as it was for Orchid (who failed), given their corpses were still on top of their horses. And the weapons, if they were no longer holding them, would have been scattered around the field. That search would have taken plenty of time. Other than that, post is looking good @Norschtalen. I'll get to providing my reply now, be it already late from my planned schedule.
Hm, I was looking for a reply from @Norschtalen before we move on, but I suppose not everything can be had. I'll be posting tomorrow if everything goes fine or the day after if things don't go quite as smoothly as I'd prefer.
