Fun in the sun! Romance at sea! Sailing straight into the hearts of millions! This is Shipped!, where singles get to mingle — with a twist, of course. Our gorgeous setting is the S.S. Aphrodite, named quite appropriately after the Goddess of love and beauty. Our goal is get YOU to find love as it is recorded live, because nothing says romantic like being watched and judged for everything you do. Oh, and there's the events, but those could be fun, who doesn't love watching people make a fool of themselves? Now, before you change your mind, there is another incentive, should you choose to follow it. That is, of course, the grand prize of two million dollars for the lucky couple to share. You heard right — two million dollars for the happy couple as they capture the hearts of the viewers. There will be laughs! There will be betrayal! There might even be a monkey— what, no animals allowed? Uh, strike that last part, but while there won't be any animals on the boat itself, there may be wildlife to explore as we visit our destinations!

Whether it's love, money, fame, or some other reason, here you are. What will your story be?
So if the previous ramblings of our host haven't clued you in, then I'll be happy to explain. Yes; this is going to be, essentially, a love-themed reality show with a giant cash prize for the lucky couple that wins. Corny? Of course, but that cash prize is mighty tempting. Considering the general age group the show decided to recruit, it's mighty tempting for a poor college kid. Or maybe you just want to use that money to buy something shiny. Maybe you want to take advantage of a free cruise. There's going to be lots of cameras, so getting fame is another option. Whatever your reason is, you and several others are aboard the S.S. Aphrodite with the goal to 'win' the game. There will be several events, maybe a couple obstacle courses, and of course, the rest of the competition to deal with, but that's not a problem, right?

The cruise itself is normally a fourteen-day Caribbean cruise, but it will be extended to match the duration of the show. Reality shows like this take a lot of time, you know?
The S.S. Aphrodite is a glorious and grand luxury cruise ship — a unique model from most standard ships, as while it is slightly smaller, it has only the finest to offer. With a crew of over five hundred to tend to your every need, your pleasure is their goal. Equipped with a multitude of spas, salons, and able hands ready to take orders, their priority is your relaxation and enjoyment. Drinks are offered around the clock with several bars and clubs open for dancing, as well as with your lunch and dinner in the twenty-four hour banquet halls. We also offer gyms that have a variety of exercise classes, should you choose to participate. The photography booth is a great place to take pictures, with both the sunset as a natural background or your choice of backdrops. How you choose your time off camera is entirely up to you! Of course, there are a few areas of the famous cruiser set up specifically for the show. We have places of privacy for the winners of each of the events, which will be revealed once we get this show on the road! Or rather, the ocean.
The benefactor and producer of the show is one and the same. A career journalist who recently made it big, they make the major decisions with a rather...hands on approach. Despite making sure to never appear on camera, they run the show (literally) and control the chaos that is hormones and singles clashing with one another. Their word is law, and they'll do what it takes to rake in the views. What. It. Takes.
Follow the rules closely, or you might have to reconsider your time with us at Shipped!.
★ Standard Guild rules apply, with a few exceptions. Ask a GM for more elaboration, if you wish.
★ There is a maximum of two characters per player.
★ If you feel that you're ‘stuck’ because of an inactive player, feel free to move on without them. I'd like this to be active, so minor bunnying when the circumstance calls for it is allowed, so long as you consult a GM beforehand. (For example, if you're waiting for a response for longer than a week, you can have the other character reply and then be able to move on.)
★ Don't be afraid to ask questions or say any concerns. No one should feel left out for any reason, and your feelings are important. If any GM or other player disrespects you, all you have to do is say so and I will personally handle it. If I'm the one causing issues, the other GMs will gladly beat me with a baseball bat. Open communication is key!
★ Also, don’t be afraid to disagree with the GMs on trivial matters such as worldbuilding. However, do it in a constructive manner and actually offer some counterpoints — contribute. This RP was made through communication and contribution, so it shall thrive with communication and contribution, too.
★ Please make your characters fit the theme of the roleplay. We do not want any edgelord Mary or Gary Stus. Nobody likes to romance them or interact with them. Flawed, realistic characters are welcome and highly encouraged.
★ Despite the presence of GMs, the RP and its story is a group effort. There will be a minor general plot line to keep things going, but your actions will shape the story, said actions will have consequences that will play out. Anything short of making the ship explode is good to go. However, be sure to consult the GMs before any big event that might affect characters beyond your own, or the overall mood of the roleplay. Our goal is for this to be a comedy/drama-esque roleplay that everyone enjoys, so if you're unsure; just ask!
★ On the topic of GMs, despite the ones listed and myself included, this is a group effort. No one person is more important than anyone else, no one has any more power than anyone. The GMs are around for problem solving and character acceptance, but other than that we are all equals.
★ The survey below indicates that you will be participating in the game show. If you wish to take on another role — perhaps of the TV crew or even someone working on the ship — ask and ye shall receive. Our talented coder, Mara, might be able to rework the CS to facilitate the role of your character, just so we can have a higher level of immersion. She also totally didn't ask me to say that or put it in herself.
