The comment (compliment? It was a compliment, wasn't it?) was decidedly unexpected. Luna blinked slowly at the young man, watching his grin and wink, and she found herself at a loss. Should she smile back? Wink back? Was it a joke? Was she overthinking it? At the very least she definitely knew the answer to the last question: it was a resounding 'yes'. Honestly, she had no idea how to properly react, the best thing to do was to smile politely and say nothing.

So she did the opposite, feeling her face flush red as she stared down at her knees. "Ah...um...thank you..." She could hardly get the sentence out, her thanks awkward and a little uncomfortable.

That said, Luna did look up as he properly introduced himself, her hand flying to her chest. No, there was no need to panic, it must be a coincidence. There were many men under Cid 'dan Falreath, so it wasn't surprising to run into anyone that had worked with him. At the very least, the young man wasn't from any divisions she knew of. She was fine. Everything was fine.

The excitable boy's introduction did warm her heart a little; it was nice to see passion of any kind. So there was Blaike, Edgar, Avaddon, Mitra and...oh, it looked like the other two women had yet to introduce themselves. She did notice the rose haired woman staring at her for a moment, an Luna's gaze immediately returned downward. Great Alexander, save her from the embarrassment...!

At the mention of the mission, Luna did frown to herself. Ferris Wood--that wasn't too far from the city, was it? At Edgar's suggestion, she nodded quickly. "The sooner it is taken care of, the better," She added.

How in the world did she get herself into this situation? The Hunter's Guild was her destination, so coming across an oddity or two was to be expected. That being said, when she had nervously approached a seemingly friendly face, she had hoped for some directions and nothing more. She did not consider the possibility that not only was the man also heading to the Hunter's Guild, but he had insisted on taking her there himself. He was charming, definitely, but as kind as the offer was, she preferred to go alone. And then he continued to insist while saying something about being a gentleman--she honestly couldn't remember, she was too busy getting swept off her feet and carried over like he was her personal chariot.

Not that she didn't appreciate his kindness, but when was he planning on putting her down?!

The woman could have died of embarrassment right then and there, staying quiet as the group gathered. Once the man broke the silence and introduced himself, it seemed to break the tension in the room. Why someone of the Red Storm tribe would come all the way to Alexandria was beyond her, but she supposed everyone had their own reasons; a brief look around let her know that not everyone was a native. Perhaps they shared her goal in crossing the border.

Considering Avaddon had no problem keeping her on his shoulder, she naturally assumed that she was going to stay this way for a while. With a small sigh, she figured she should introduce herself next. "...I'm Luna..." She replied meekly, hanging her head in shame.

Man, Eris forgot how disgusting mortals were. Shitting his pants--first of all, vampires don't have anything leave their bowels, what the hell was Wells on about? And second of all they were both entirely unamused by this exam, so if his reflection or apparition or whatever it was had a nervous expression, then it simply reflected how done he was with everything. The thought was preposterous, anyway, Eris wasn't scared.

He kept his thoughts to himself, deciding that a response just wasn't needed. Wells' next question did interest him, though, so that much he could offer up some kind of conversation. "The more complex a spell, the more resources that it takes. There were also a lot of mages casting spells when we had to line up to get blinded," Eris shrugged. "Aside from the multitude of teachers, I'd wager some of the more accomplished students helped to set this up. If this sort of exam is typical, then maybe a few days' time, a little longer just to properly plan out the challenges and the possible outcomes."

As for the "shared fever dream" comment, Eris wasn't too sure on that one. He didn't think the blindness was an illusion, but everything else they had experienced certainly was. "I'm assuming each pair is being overseen by a mage or two in a specific section of each forest. They said you would be led by signs or something, so I think if you go somewhere where you're not supposed to, you'll get nudged in the proper direction to correct it." He tapped his hip with his free hand. "It's interesting, to say the least." Not that he knew much more about it, though.

When the darkness lifted from his eyes, Eris was openly relieved, though he straightened up as he watched the clones. Interesting, a sword and a claw, not unlike ones he had used before as props--except he was pretty sure he hadn't used anything obsidian. He listened to the words carefully, a hand to his chin as he thought to himself. Demons of others, what others? As soon as that thought crossed his mind, however, he saw the other clones--Sunny and Varis. Very interesting. He watched Sunny's clone vanish and watched Varis' with amusement--did they know about his messy eating habits? He did noticed that those clones were armed, too. Hm, a fight, was it?

Before he could voice his opinion, however, he noticed the word Varis' guy mouthed. Coin? What coin? "Did we get a coin?" He asked Wells, a little confused. "He mouthed it before he vanished--" Eris cut himself off as he saw the actual Sunny and Varis across the way. They must have been the ones the riddles referred to. Do they have to fight each other's reflections? Eris could probably take on the Sunny clone, but he wasn't too sure about fighting someone out of his range. Maybe the kid could make him a sword or something.

"Interesting," He commented before waving at the other pair. "What a sight for sore eyes. Unless you're the ones we have to 'vanquish' of course." He laughed, brushing his hair out of his face. "If those reflections come back, I'm sure we'll have a fight on our hands." He paused for a moment. "I don't suppose either of you have a coin on you? The count's reflection muttered something about it before he vanished."

Nia shuddered slightly as they arrived, looking around a little nervously. Arcturus was right, something about this place was weird. She felt like something was going to jump out at them at any second, making it difficult for her to pay attention to the conversation. Keeping in a whimper of fear, she lightly smacked her face to snap herself out of it. She was a wizard for crying out loud! She had her keys, her magic...everything was going to be okay. No need to get scared. Right?

Tuning back into the conversation, Nia did look around at the mention of lights. Oh this place was definitely haunted, wasn't it?! Quietly taking in a deep breath, she rubbed her arms as she listened. Unfortunately, runes weren't her specialty, and she couldn't say she was a huge fan of splitting up--this was like a horror story waiting to happen! That said, however, they were here to find the lost child, and he could be by himself and in need of help. So she nodded in agreement at Karna's statement, uncrossing her arms as she took a hold of her keys.

"Okay, if we're splitting up, then..." She took a few steps back as she unhooked a silver key. Brandishing it, she channeled her magic into the key. "I call upon thee! Open, Gate of the Mirror: Meissa!"

With a flash of light, a small, pixie-like creature appeared, its wings fluttering as she formed a circle. Once the circle completed, it split into two and a pair of mirrors formed, floating into Nia's hands.

"We can use this to communicate," Nia suggested, offering the other mirror. "You know...just in case." She let out a nervous laugh.

Name:
Luna Cadewyn
a.k.a. Lunaria Estacise Alexandros VII

Race:
'Elezen'

Age:
21

Class:
Bard

Place of Origin:
Alexandria

Personality:
Determined
Courageous
Gentle
Standoffish
Neurotic

Backstory:
The moment that a widowed King Aconitum Napellus XV decided to take an elezen bride named Belladonna, it was safe to say that the decision had made quite a buzz. The fact that she was affiliated with the Holy Alexander Church did soften the blow somewhat, as did his apparent desire to give young Prince Asterius a mother. The controversy flared when their union resulted in a child--there were those that believed it was nothing short of an omen. He bequeathed the name of the kingdom's founder to her, claiming that the princess' birth was a symbol of unity and peace.

Despite being second in line for the throne, Luna has lived a majority of her life away from the public eye. She was cited as having poor health and painted as a delicate girl, her appearances few and far in-between. A majority of her time was spent studying aldite for purposes unknown, although it took years for her to realize how odd her life was. Aside from having little royal responsibility, her father often pushed her towards research and generally discouraged interacting with anyone he didn't approve of. He stressed that there were too many people in the world that wanted nothing more than to use her for their own purposes.

Two months ago, Luna discovered a journal that ended up completely changing her viewpoint. She began questioning many things in her life, and after a confrontation with her father, she decided she needed to strike out on her own. Once the borders were closed, she quietly made preparations to escape the castle.

With a harp bow and an array of Songs in hand, Luna specializes in providing support from a distance. Her melodies have an assortment of effects on both friend and foe, ranging from healing and buffing to distractions and debuffing.

Of course.

Asuka didn't get the chance to respond before her future roommate presented themselves, and of course it was the blue haired girl. It could've been worse, she could've been stuck with either the fake or the idiot, so she supposed she'd have to grin and bear it. She was hoping for someone a little friendlier if she was being honest. Still, if she was going to be rooming with this girl, then getting along would be for the best. Hm, if she looked at this as a challenge instead, then it would be a lot more fun. Learning how to get along with difficult people was definitely an aspect of heroism; not every civilian was friendly, there were bound to be the occasional jerk.

She stole a glance at Seo, raising her eyebrows before giving Mizuhana her attention. Clearing her throat, she raised her hand in response to her question. "That's me," She replied politely, giving her roommate a small smile. "I'm Sakurami Asuka. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Short, sweet, and to the point: this was how you made an appropriate and casual greeting without making a fool of yourself.

As for what she was looking forward to... "I'm looking forward to learning and making myself a hero, of course, so I'm in agreement with Mizuhana-san," She stated, clapping her hands together.

Irony thy name is @Inkarnate

So she wasn't rude, she was just an idiot.

Asuka closed her eyes to keep herself from rolling them, though when she opened them she was pleased to see the purple-haired idiot student chat up someone else. At Tanegashima's greeting, Asuka gave another wave, her expression neutral. A kid of someone famous or something, though judging by their reaction, it seemed that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Asuka didn't have much of an opinion for the mousy girl, only taking a note of their name provided by their upperclassman and who they were dorming with. It was good to keep track of who was who for future networking, and it helped to know who to avoid.

Another rude student interrupted the poor catgirl, though at this point she wished the older student would, you know, put on some air of authority or something. Oh well, not everyone was made to lead. Asuka did take a note of the blue haired girl, quietly adding her to the list of people to avoid; people who were rude just weren't worth her time. It looked like Nekohara read her mind, though, finally asserting herself as she called for the next pair.

And then the white haired girl 'spoke'. Good grief, who was she trying to fool? She may as well have stapled a sign to her forehead that said, "I think I'm above this." Asuka couldn't help the giggle that escaped her, though it was safe to say she was definitely going to pay more attention to see just what kind of people her classmates were.

Too busy calling the kettle black to interact with anyone.

Lyveva put a hand to her chin, deliberating their words for a second, but she seemed to agree with what people said. Nodding, she looked back at the direction where she had seen Eji run last, taking a note of it before walking over to the front of the carriage, pointing in another direction. "If you keep going along this road, the house is on Plot 41. Once you see the treehouse and the outdoor onsen, you'll know it's the right one."

Shooting a grin at the rest of the group, she gave them a thumbs up. "A miqo'te named Suki should be there, just tell her I sent you, and you'll be okay," She said. "We'll meet you there with Eji in hand!"

With that, the blonde turned back in the direction where the young Au Ra had ran and took off running. "EJI! EJIIII! WAIT FOR MEEE!" She yelled in an impressively loud voice.

Suki gave Byssu a polite smile, a slight exasperation around her as she walked away. She headed down the road towards the cluster of houses, disappearing from sight. From the opposite road, a figure in the distance approached the property. With purple hair, skin, and scales, she stood out from the background, the terse expression on her face an obvious indicator that she wasn't looking to be cordial. Her green eyes seemed to be lost in thought for a moment, although they focused up once she approached the house.

Despite Byssu's presence, the Au Ra only briefly gave her a glance before walking onto the property, entering without saying a word.

Despite having her eyes closed, Lilie was getting antsy waiting for the inevitable. All that went away however when she heard some very loud grinding. She jumped in place, her nose and lips hitting the vampire's. Her hands flew to her face, eyes wide as she looked at the pot. Aside from the painful smack, it looked like they had completed the challenge! She rubbed her nose as she left Count Ben standing where he was, kneeling down to look at the slab. The heart shaped stone was warm to the touch, surprising her, but she had to admit she thought it was a super cute touch. Hearts, love, warmth--she was finding herself really liking this exam!

Carefully holding onto the stone, she walked back to the count, taking a hold of his sleeve. She pressed the stone in his hand, happy to show off their 'reward'. Wondering if she could keep it afterwards, she gave him a chance to properly feel the warmth emanating from it. "It's in the shape of a heart, too! Isn't it adorable?" She asked with a huge grin, stopping as she looked up at him. He looked like he had been attacked by lip gloss, the shimmering glitters on his lips and chin.

Lilie had to suppress a laugh, reaching into her coat to take out a handkerchief. "Some of my gloss got on you, let me clean it," She couldn't really help her giggling as she told him, gently dabbed at his mouth. She was able to get a majority of it off, but she had to admit the little bit of sparkle really helped his complexion.

"There we go! Okay, let's see," She took a second to remember her directions as she looked around. "We'll be going south. I really want to do as many challenges as possible, and this next one sounds interesting!" She took a hold of his sleeve again, guiding him in the right direction.
